Ah yes thanks stunt I don't know much about it but if she has that it's no problem iyswim. Sorry if I'm being insensitive to your sis stunt but when I think of all the things that could happen it seems like the lesser of lots of evils. But I also think its unlikely she has that too but I'm glad she's being thoroughly investigated. She's just had another tube and got more observations at 2am so I'm going to try and get a bit of sleep before that.

Hope all the lovely babies let the fabulous and committed mummies get lots of sleep Grin

kirrinIsland · 02/03/2013 23:43

Hope you get some results soon Eliza and like pr said, coeliac disease is manageable, if tedious. xxx

pr ((hugs)) I can't believe the run of bad luck you've had with illness. This must surely be it now.

I have also spent the evening dealing with a vomiting toddler. She is in her 3rd pair of pjs and her last clean sheet is on the bed - so hopefully that it for the night. And the washing machine has chosen tonight to stop working!

On the plus Side, N was asleep on me downstairs when I heard DD1 being sick, so I brought her up and stuck her in her cot while I did the clean up, expecting her to wake up. That was nearly an hour ago and she's still there. Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong - I should stop the gentle transfers and just dump her unceremoniously in the cot!

((hugs)) mm Hope you get some sleep tonight.

ValiumQueen · 03/03/2013 00:14

mm poor little scrap and poor you!

pr beyond a joke. You could not write it! So sorry.

I am exceedingly grateful it is not me with a child with cf. I cannot recall who has, but it is an eldest son who was exhibiting challenging behaviour a while back. I should know who it is but my brain is fucked. I know there is so much more they can do these days to help children with cf, but surely the heel prick would have detected this?

kirrin hope your wee one is soon better too. It never ceases to amaze me how much vomit can come out of a toddler, and how far it can travel.

ValiumQueen · 03/03/2013 00:17

We got the moon sand out today for the second time ever. It is now in the bin. Evil stuff.

Watched the rest of Skyfall. I do not like James Bond and still do not.

TheDetective · 03/03/2013 00:20

Tits eldest boy has CF x

DP insisting on doing the night feeds. Hmmmmmmm. Watch this space....

ValiumQueen · 03/03/2013 00:28

DD2 keeps playing with DHs shoes which are kept in a cupboard in the hall. I got sick of this today and brought them upstairs to the bedroom. He has 7 fucking pairs downstairs plus more in his wardrobe. The bedroom smells like a cheese factory now. Will put them in his office tomorrow. Grr.

I am trying to embrace night feeds as they will not last much longer and they are precious moments alone with my boy. If I say it enough I may believe it.

ValiumQueen · 03/03/2013 00:33

Yes, tits well done detective I have only ever fallen in love with one patient (bad nursie) and it was when I was a student a long long time ago. He had CF and was the most beautiful young man in the world. I remember him as if it were yesterday. Well, J is asleep it seems. No doubt see you again soon.

ValiumQueen · 03/03/2013 00:34

What is sundays theme?

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 03/03/2013 00:58

Not even two fecking hours between feeds!!!

kirrinIsland · 03/03/2013 01:43

Blimey - Nadia just woke up. 3 hours after being ditched in her cot!

I want to see Skyfall. I like Bond now but I've only been interested since pierce Brosnin took over the role.

kirrinIsland · 03/03/2013 01:50

I was about to suggest Silly Sunday - but if the jokes are anything to go by then we've just had Silly Saturday. Sensible Sunday is too dull and pointless, with you lot How about Sleepy Sunday?! wishful thinking

ValiumQueen · 03/03/2013 02:30

Two fucking hours. Grr.

Elizadoesdolittle · 03/03/2013 04:03

I mean this in the nicest possible way vq but sorry to see you posting at this time tonight. Booo for lacking sleep in the Valium household. Perhaps you need to increase the dose of Valium to chill your DC's out!

Another tube feed done. E is hand munching and staring at Ewan. Think i will turn the light off and see if she drops off. I should really express but just want to sleep. Plenty of hours in the day for expressing. I'll do it then.

ValiumQueen · 03/03/2013 04:12

Thank you eliza deffo sleep!

Another two fucking hours! My God this boy is hard work!

I was going to a car boot sale but fuck that! I will be napping when he does and DH will just have to accept that!

Fuck me! I think the fact that he did the 8 hours last week makes this worse I thought he was getting somewhere!

Still, I must be grateful as the other two are well and asleep and he and I are well too. I must be grateful. I have had it much much worse!

Lilliana · 03/03/2013 04:25

Just doing first feed after 6 hours- this kind of sleep is unheard of in the lil household! Now just need to repeat the day exactly tomorrow Grin

Sorry to all those up in the night again

Mm not sure about the meds you are using but i have hydrocortisone (sp?) cream and it sometimes stings. Would go back to doc and obviously not use again.

Woke in the night cuddling L. Couldn't work out how/when she got there then panicked as she was boiling hot. Then realised that i was cuddling the hot water bottle i use to warm her bed Blush

Lilliana · 03/03/2013 04:28

Sorry to hear about more illness pr you really have had more then your fair share. Hope this really is the end.

vq 2 hours gets soul destroying, hope it is just a blip

Bryzoan · 03/03/2013 04:48

My goodness you lot - you can talk. I haven't lurked for just a few days and you've nearly done a thread!

Pr - noooooo. I hope the rest of you avoid it and am so sorry about your run of illness. Our dd has also collected all the bugs for us this yr - she has only made it to 1 swimming lesson since Christmas. Nothing as serious as a lot of what you've had though. We had the gastroenteritis - it was yuk.

Hugs Eliza - well done and keep going - my heart goes out to you.

We've had a tough week. It looks like dd1 will be diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome which would explain her late (not yet) walking and talking, general developmental delay, hip problems and also blood sugar probs as a new baby. We are heartbroken - awaiting a genetics appt to confirm but that isn't till 6 June. In reality though it helps us to understand why some things are harder for her - am going to change her speech therapy from fortnightly to weekly and get her help building hand strength from an ot. I guess all that we can do is the same as for any kid - bust a gut to help her be the best she can.

Mm - how crap about the cream. Hugs to you too.

Sorry - have no idea what else is happening quiche wide - have only read 2 pages back and am going to go back to sleep now as g has dropped off.

kirrinIsland · 03/03/2013 05:21

bryzoan so sorry, how worrying. I can't believe you have to wait so long for an appointment to confirm it. How old is she?

VQ I'd be skipping the car boot too if I were you. I hope J has let you have some more sleep. It's a bit soul destroying by this stage isn't it?

lilliana you've done well! That's great. Hopefully L is getting the idea and you'll have more 6 hour sleeps to come!

We seem to be waking every hour again, but at least she had a longer stretch at the beginning of the night, and she is going straight down into her cot without a fight too and not waking the second I move her - that's the part that gets me wound up and upset every night. And DD1 hasn't been sick again so that's good.

Bryzoan · 03/03/2013 05:40

Up again! Dang. Vq and kirrin I hope you both get a longer stretch now till morning.

She is 2.5 kirrin - and such a joy. It is rubbish to have to wait but I'm going to push for earlier checks for some of the other medical stuff it is sometimes linked with so fingers crossed we get that going. Apart from getting those checks a diagnosis won't change things that much. I'm really anxious about not letting her get pigeon holed by it, or limiting her or our expectations because of it.

kirrinIsland · 03/03/2013 05:47

I have no experience of these things bryzoan so I don't really know what to say except that you seem to have a good positive attitude which will stand both you and she in good stead for the future. Pushing for everything you can get is always a good idea too - unfortunately it is sometimes the only way to get what they need.

Bryzoan · 03/03/2013 05:59

Thanks kirrin. I do hope so. I do accept that life for all of us is unlikely to be quite like I had envisaged.

Sophiathecheesefairy · 03/03/2013 07:27

We found some comfort milk! Grin

In a tiny Asda in the middle of nowhere County Down!

Am I behind on that one?

PetiteRaleuse · 03/03/2013 07:44

Bryz making you wait til June is a pisstake. It must be very stressful Thanks

right. I don't think it's gastrenteritis as she serms fine this morning. I assume she just ate too much last night. She played both of us as food tickets, and we realised that we had both given her an apple and a banana yesterday evening. And dinner was quite rich too. That plus the running around after dinner... So maybe we are over the bugs at last. Not going on the planned day out just in case :(

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 03/03/2013 07:44

Oh my good god. We have had wakings every 1.5-2 hrs with little settlimg back in crib. I'm also feeling like crap and have a dodgy tummy this morning (ibs playing up).

I'm supposed to be going out with a friend to an alcoholic afternoon tea and I don't feel I can leave the loo at the minute! Sorry for TMI!

DH was a bit pants last night, he normally never wakes with DS which is fine as I BF but last night he woke up and said "is that him fucking feeding again?" Then promptly rolled over and started snoring! Yes he's feeding again, I'm aware of that and don't need it pointed out before you go back the fuck to sleep!! Argh!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/03/2013 07:55

Groan emoticon. I am so behind.

Why is it everytime I pick up the I pad to post up creeps DS1?

Hope you are ok Eliza you are having a rough time, big hugs. I hope they work out what it is soon.

pr this surely must be the last illness in the petite household. As well as, hope your baker comes back soon.

mm I would initiate and extraordinary sweary Wednesday for that. Poor old M.

We are a chorus of coughs at the mo between the boys I have been up and down the stairs a million times In The night this week. We are still in our little cottage in NI and having a pj morning as we have not stopped all week and I think the boys need a break from being shuttled back and forth, in the car seat, out of the car seat, back in the car seat again. I think we need a break! It has been worth it.

We now have a house.

I have even tried out a local toddler group!

Yesterday I went for a two hour walk in the forest for charity and there was not a Cough to be heard. Was peaceful bliss.

Am really looking forward to a meandering Sunday!
