I have just won two sets of rainbow fairies books on eBay. That is the most exciting thing to happen to me today.

kirrinIsland · 02/03/2013 17:45

Sounds good horsey I expect it was nice to have a complete change of scene.

VQ I spend far too much time on eBay - it's too easy. You click a button and stuff arrives at your house. The paying part almost passes me by til I see my bank statement.

We went for a wander round the garden centre earlier and I decided to treat myself to a piece of cake as my life is crap I've done pretty well on my diet. So I got a chocolate cupcake thingy and it was horrible! Small disappointments are so magnified at the moment!

Lilliana your nights sound just like mine Thanks it's just a phase, it's just a phase

PetiteRaleuse · 02/03/2013 17:46

Spent afternoon at the park. In the sun. Felt so nice to have a bit of sun.

horseylady · 02/03/2013 18:00

Yeah it was good. I do love him but I also love my job. Well not love but you know?! Job that is not ds. I love ds anyway.

I can go to work, do my job and still be a mum. Relief!! Can't wait for a cuddle though!! Nearly home!!

horseylady · 02/03/2013 18:02

That reads badly!!! I love ds a lot more than job!!! Sure you all know that.

Out for a curry tonight!! Yum yum yum

PetiteRaleuse · 02/03/2013 18:13

Yum curry. Decent curry that I don't have to make myself, that's something I miss from the UK too.

Lilliana · 02/03/2013 18:15

Glad you had a good day horsey

I hate it when you decide to treat yourself and it's a disappointment Kirren :( Hope you had a nice afternoon though. Nights will improve (please!)

We went for a walk too Petite it's amazing how much better you feel with some sun and fresh air.

Very excited, my cousin is training to be a hairdresser and is going to style my mop - now to find some ideas which are child/time friendly and are going to make me look amazing in one easy step! Hmm Grin

kirrinIsland · 02/03/2013 18:22

Sun? What's that?! We did have a nice afternoon, inspire of the cake!

lilliana if you find such a style can you let me know?!

kirrinIsland · 02/03/2013 18:23

*inspite

gardenpixie32 · 02/03/2013 18:31

Liliana a massage would be great!

Detective bath was lush and so was the afternoon nap. DP brought the girls up to me in the middle of my nap, I was in such a deep sleep and even drooling on the pillow!

VQ thanks, I looked at them, they look lovely. Seems a pity to cover them with a wrap, they are so nice to look at. I have two Motherease wraps, I love them, so soft and leak free!

Eliza I hope your LO improves soon, hospitals are not nice places to be with little babies Thanks

gardenpixie32 · 02/03/2013 19:12

PP I need a good, absorbent nappy for night time. Bumgenious is good but quite bulky for nights. What would you recommend? LL just don't last all night with DT2

PurplePidjin · 02/03/2013 19:20

I've gone back to basics tonight - big mf booster, prefold, fleece suit. We shall see. I get a good 6 hours from a small mf booster in anything bamboo (ll, lollipop or bamboozle) or a cotton prefold doubled at the front then corners winged out at the back so i can nippa it. Woolly experiments start tomorrow!

PetiteRaleuse · 02/03/2013 19:26

I am planning a day out, including lunch at a restaurant tomorrow.

Both children knackered this evening after our afternoon out. I likey.

Dinner time.

rootypig · 02/03/2013 19:53

hello, just trying to catch up!

lots to say but LO has a cold and is 4mo today and has taken these as her cue to be a bit of a crankpot meaning I probably have about 4 minutes before she decides she is not, in fact, asleep

Tits and Eliza
Tits the loneliness and isolation are so hard, your plan sounds like a good start. I am trying to find more groups to go to too. Keep getting numbers from other new mums I bump into but haven't worked up the nerve to call any of them yet.

Detective and Cacacaz how do those little wrap things work? sorry if being a div. Do their legs stay inside like a parcel, or are there holes for them to poke out? Cacacaz if you don't need yours I would love to give it a go?

oh and everyone who is using Aveeno, it's on £2 off in Superdrug at the mo, makes it half the price or less than Boots.......

oh yes these we go, she is wailing!!!!!!!

Pikz · 02/03/2013 20:01

Evening campers.

Can anyone explain how I get more sleep now than newborn stage but feel more tired by it all Sad

Am so in love with LO but am sad the only time I get to myself is a quick run to supermarket. Am actually considering now he's on formula asking someone else to do a whole night for me and see if I can sleep. I don't know how it would go Blush

I didn't wear breast pads for first time today. Feels like freedom.

Lots of sleep dust being sent from here to everyone.

rootypig · 02/03/2013 20:20

also how is it that in the rooty house a cup of tea is cold in 15 seconds but a bottle stays hot as the core of the sun for hours?!?!

sweetpea1112 · 02/03/2013 20:20

Pikz do it! I ff and DP does at least one night shift a week so that I can get a full nights sleep. in fact this weekend he is doing both nights. I do feel horrendously guilty a lot of the time, but it is so important for us mums to look after ourselves and it means I am not as shattered during the week, especially as O isn't a great sleeper at the moment.

Had a lovely day today, O was a superstar at the big family lunch. He got a bit overwhelmed by all the new faces though and saved all of his smiles and chatter for mummy. First time I've ever felt like he is a mummys boy and I liked it Blush I do really want him to be confident around other people but he is still very young so plenty of time.

My birthday tomorrow so hoping for a chilled day just relaxing with Oscar.

Pikz · 02/03/2013 20:39

Creme egg ice cream does nothing for the diet but god it's good!

Sweetpea I think I might! Thank you

StuntNun · 02/03/2013 20:42

Seems like a slow day for the quiche today. I took the three boys and the dog to the park and J had his first go in the swing with me helicoptering over him in case he slumped forwards. DS2 has such a sunny disposition, I commented to him that the playground was busy and he said, "Oh good - lots of children to play with." Bad dog eyed up the river but managed not to fall in for a change. I'm hoping the combination of fresh air and a bath will knock J out for the night.

I'm so tired today after three hours sleep last night. I thought about asking DH to do the night feeds too Pikz but I suspect one night's sleep isn't actually going to make much difference to me at this point.

Hope everything's going well at the hospital Eliza. And how was your afternoon VQ?

MissMummy1 · 02/03/2013 20:42

Evening all!

Skim read quickly. Hugs to those having a shitty time. Giggling like a child at your awful jokes! Asked DP to give me a witty one to add but I don't think I can repeat any of his Blush

We have had a lovely day at the seaside and then IKEA on the way home Smile . Knackered now but tucking into some chocolate fondue and family cuddles on the sofa.

Sleep dust to all. Our wee bugger has forgotten how to sleep and has been averaging 2 hours for the past week. (that's not in one go, that's the whole night Sad )

Pikz · 02/03/2013 20:48

Stunt praying J sleeps for you. Funnily enough when I raised it with DP he joked but you've gone without sleep for so long what will one night do! He agreed to it..but I worry he might mess it up and I'll end up being up more!

MM sounds like a lovely day.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/03/2013 20:49

Cat vs printer

Nicked from a MN thread earlier this week

sweetpea1112 · 02/03/2013 20:49

Oh gosh MM 2 hours?! I shall try to remember not to complain about O's sleep again! Poor you. I hope you are managing to get some sleep at some point. Your day sounds lovely Smile

Stunt I know what you mean, when I am at my most tired, a night off can do more harm than good. I think adrenaline keeps me going in lieu of sleep but when I actually get sleep. I lose the adrenaline so feel like shit worse Hmm By the way, your boys are gorgeous! Loved the swing pic.

ValiumQueen · 02/03/2013 20:55

pikz it is cumulative. Do have a night off. I would if I could!

stunt at for asking Smile stressful! But we survived. When DH came home I went and had a long bath. Came down to see DD1 feeding DS. Hmm!

Have had wine and chocolate tonight. Bad mummy.
