kirren glad you're feeling better. Do try and get out for some fresh air today. I always find it helps.

tits echo what others have said. Before I had DD1 I couldn't imagine going to any mum and baby groups but I now try to go too as many as possible. I know at this age they are so young there's not much you can do with them but as another poster mentioned (sorry cant remember who) the bf support groups are good at this age. And it's great that your DH has a new local job.

chunky I am still bf but its more for E's comfort as of course she's not hungry but she is getting some breast milk. And I'm expressing too but even though E isn't feeding as much I still don't get that much. Just managed to pump 50ml which is a bloody achievement for me.

My Dsis just posted a video of DD1 doing the Harlem shake, made me laugh. She's a character!

Loving the jokes, I'm crap at them though.

Why did the fish blush?......

Because the sea weed Shock

gardenpixie32 · 02/03/2013 12:24

horsey I looked last night and realised they are small 4oz bottles, however, if you like, you are welcome to them.

DP taking girls out this afternoon. I could burst with the excitement of having 3 hours to myself! Plan is to soak in the bath with a big glass of wine and have a snooze. Too much excitement!

Kyzordz · 02/03/2013 12:25

Can I have some help lovely ladies?

I gave him 2.5ml calprofen as the whinging isn't easing and he seems out of sorts and sticking his fingers in his mouth/looking red cheeked and seeming really miserable. I also have calpol. Am I better sticking to calprofen or alternating them? Calprofen says I can give 3 times in 24 hours but calpol is more often and for longer so I don't know if I should've gone with calpol or not but calprofen says it helps with inflammation more so I figured it might help him if it is indeed his teeth?

If he's still like this Monday I might take him doctors. It's just, there's nothing exactly specific. He still sleeps ok and is toileting and drinking albeit reluctantly, he is just very unhappy when awake :(

Thankyou muchly in advance

Kneaded a poo! Very funny Grin

At night I always give J time to settle himself, and sometimes he does. He doesn't take a dummy, and if I pick him up to cuddle him, he roots.

Bathed both girls and washed their hair. Can only do their hair once a week as so long. Need to shave them really. And get them a wig or two. J decided he was tired mid way, so I tried to settle him and he was not having any of it. Had to give him to DH as I cannot do fucking everything Grin He is working this afternoon so I am on my own with all three. Not very pleased about that.

ValiumQueen · 02/03/2013 12:33

garden please do not drown.

kyz I am mean as I rarely give meds for teething. If they have a fever, then I alternate PCM and Brufen every 4 hours. With teething have you tried other things? I am going to get a homeopathic thing, camilia or something like that. Granules. J loves granules and these are meant to be good. Will look for name.

ValiumQueen · 02/03/2013 12:35

Chamomilla granules. Look at amazon reviews.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 02/03/2013 12:39

Was it glenda who asked about aveeno? I wash B's hair using Aveeno and rinse out with just water. I don't use shampoo at it goes dry again.

gardenpixie32 · 02/03/2013 12:49

VQ hmmm, the snooze wont be in the bath!

Been meaning to ask you, what nappies do you use on your LO at night? I use disposables at night and cloth the rest of the time. LL size ones wont last much longer and want to get 10 or so new nappies. I like the look of Bumgenious Freetime, no stuffing nappies. Need something that is very absorbent as I don't change them between 6pm-7am & DT2 pees like a racehorse.

Kyzordz · 02/03/2013 12:51

I will have a look vq thankyou :) I have tried teethers, gels etc. trouble is I don't know if it is his teeth it just seems that way to me with the fingers frantically in mouth and red cheeks and gone funny with most bottles. I have never tried granules though so will look. He has a temp of 36.5 so no fever. He is sleeping ok, quite clingy when awake but doesn't seem to actually want me, if that makes sense? He doesn't want cuddles or playing with he just doesn't want to be put down either. Can they get like that with teething?

PurplePidjin · 02/03/2013 12:55

I let R whimper at night, it results in crying every single time. He hasn't once settled himself. I'm pondering Ewan but it's a lot of money, especially if it doesn't work...

ValiumQueen · 02/03/2013 13:37

It sounds like teething. I am not sure what you can get through minor ailments. Worth asking.

garden have a look at tots bots bamboozles stretch with a fleece wrap or blueberry wrap or motherease airflow wrap.

ValiumQueen · 02/03/2013 13:39

PP I doubt Ewan would work at this age.

kirrinIsland · 02/03/2013 13:55

Me too pidjin and if I pick her up she won't settle for anything less than boob. I have considered Ewan, but I think I may have left it bit late really.

glendathefedupwitch · 02/03/2013 14:07

chunky I love the lobster joke!!!

Thanks for the aveeno advice will try and wash her hair every day can't manage a bath more than twice a week in this house mingling lot we are

Dh wanted to take dss's swimming but I vetoed taking Dottie in too - it's a private gym pool so v nice and warm but rather small and with 3 teenage lads and a flailing 7 yr old We need more eyes and hands if I take baby in with us - we've come to watch but will take dots swimming when it's just the 5 of us!!

detective how heavy is O and what size neoprene wrap did you get?

TheDetective · 02/03/2013 15:03

Glenda He's 13lb 14, and long, about 66cm, although not measured for a couple of weeks. I got the small - 6-12 month one and it's perfect, slightly big so growing room, but not too big that it doesn't do its job!

pidj Have you tried white noise? I swear by it for O. I have a video on youtube which I just put on my mobile when he fights sleep, or wakes and doesn't do his feed me now cry! It's . Most of those views are mine Grin.

Ewan keeps him happy for a few minutes, but white noise puts him to sleep! Ewan used to put him to sleep, but doesn't seem to now.

So jealous garden! My day consists of 2 children competing for attention, even though one of them is almost 11 and knows better grrrrr. O finally asleep and in swing. Peace at long last!! Hope you enjoy the relax! Well deserved relaxing at that!

My living room currently looks like toy shop Hmm. CBA tidying it all, it will all be back out in half an hour.

TheDetective · 02/03/2013 15:06

Fucking Austin and Ally, just piss off and shag already. Bloody disney channel. I want to scratch my eyes out arghhhhhhhhhh.

Lilliana · 02/03/2013 15:26

pp L is the same - never settles herself. I got a ewan but prob was too late. She loves him and will lie quietly watching him for ages but doesn't send her to sleep. I have a white noise app that I downloaded for free too.

At night I tend to offer boob (easy option) unless it has been a short time.

Eliza thinking of you x

garden Envy of your bath. It's my birthday in a few weeks. Thinking of asking DH to take L for a few hours and going to have a massage or something - bliss

After a rubbish day yesterday- velcro baby who grizzled constantly - we had 5 hours straight last night and then another 3 after a feed! Second time this week while in cot instead of on me so hoping this will continue.

Sure there was more I wanted to say but brain is mush.

PurplePidjin · 02/03/2013 15:41

White noise made him cry! Tbh it tends to be food in the night, it's just killing me - especially as he's now decided 5am is morning Sad guess he just needs to grow

Lilliana · 02/03/2013 16:09

Oh Tits wanted to say well done with putting a plan together. Definitely get out to groups, isolation is the worst thing for depression. Also agree with others that you have made the right decision wrt the job. Don't forget there is always someone around here - day and night! - to support you if you are struggling.

PP we have had weeks of waking every 2 or less hours, 3 hours max, it is relentless. Sorry no more advice other than you are not alone and this too shall pass. L has done 2 better nights this week so secretly hoping we are coming out the other side (until 4 month regression) but dare not say that too loudly!

ChunkyChicken · 02/03/2013 16:22

What do you call a man with a spade on his head?

Doug.

Do I get some sort of prize for the best worst jokes??!! Grin

I've had what feels like bad nights, with waking at 1-1.30, but think that's my fault; if I went to bed earlier, I'd have longer blocks of sleep. He's doing 4.5-5hr stretches, so 1 wake mid night then early morning (6am ish) which is doable. I'm hoping he'll drop the 1am feed soon though, as last night was just a snack really, as he had a quick drink, & then kept pulling on & off. Giving it all took less than 20mins total, I can def not complain & prob would have taken longer than not feeding him.

TheDetective · 02/03/2013 16:51

How can I be more tired even though I've had techincally 'enough' sleep. Stupid body!!!

Pidj Awww! Poor little pidj.

O is still sleep now, he seems to have decided short morning naps, and a looooooong 3-4 hour sleep in the afternoon followed by another short nap before bed is his way to go. He has woke up 4 times with crying - this is him being tired still and not wanting to be awake. All I've had to do is go over and put the white noise back on, and he's gone. It saved my bacon! I wish he'd just sleep so I can without the whingy wakenings though!

I'd love a 3-4 hour nap Grin.

Trying to decide what is for dinner this evening. I have a blank mind.

Kyzordz · 02/03/2013 16:58

Am stuck on sofa again. Pissflaps. I put dinner in but now can't get it out! He had half hour of giggles n grins then got tired, but I'm assuming the calpol is helping whatever is wrong. I ordered some granules vq. Want to order a wrap next detective but it might have to wait till next week. He was 15lb 13 at 15 weeks so will use that when ordering, I imagine he can't have gained too much more! Weigh in is Tuesday but so are his jabs and I don't fancy putting him or me through both!

PurplePidjin · 02/03/2013 16:58

Chicken what do you call a man without a spade in his head? Douglas

He's 14 1/2 weeks and was 10lb3 last weigh in so a bit younger and considerably smaller than most here, i think?

horseylady · 02/03/2013 17:20

On my way home!!!

Survived!!! Actually really nice to be doing some brain work ! There was a practical session so I was able to help a few people and show them an easier way must email manager and tell him I've told some people to come and see how we do it.

The extra money thing also makes sense now. Seemingly just after I gave birth radiotherapy got a massive boost from Downing Street!! I wondered how they'd got loads of new kit. Anyway!!
