eliza hugs. Hope she's ok

vq you will be fab. If it makes you happy do it.

detective I might try those bottles garden do you want to sell yours?

Erm sure lots more. I'm getting stressed about going to a conference tomorrow. He'll be ok wont he? Ill be gone 12 hours?!

TheDetective · 01/03/2013 22:36

Glad you liked the wetsuits! I thought they were a good price too! I ordered mine on wednesday afternoon, and it arrived this morning, and I just paid regular delivery! Impressed! Plus the fact it kept him warm obviously! And was easy getting on and off! I just put a swim nappy under it.

He's in the cot. Went out like a light, and didn't stir when I put him in. HOOFUCKINGRAH!!

Eliza I really feel for you. It must be totally shit. I hate being in hospitals at the best of times, feel free to natter away on here for company. There is usually one of us moping at any one time!

Shall we share all our best jokes tomorrow?! It might keep us amused! BTW. If anyone has any funny cat videos, cat pictures, or cats. Send em this way. I love cats!!!!

Passmethecrisps · 01/03/2013 22:40

Champion idea detective. Love it.

horsey I would bet my saggy ass that E will be absolutely, 100% fine. I am not blaming you for being worried though. DH took P downstairs this morning to give me an hour to myself - I lay there listening for crying and stopping myself running down. I think a day away will be good for you

TheDetective · 01/03/2013 22:41

VQ I'd like to do my training too, but as I've said before. Finances. Bah. You'd be fab though, so go and do it!!

I did notice the other day that when at baby clinic, it is never the health visitor that speaks to me. I think it is some sort of health assistant type roll. It made me :( though as I guess the HV's don't get involved unless there are real problems. I wanted to talk about O's milk, but wanted to talk to the HV herself. Ah well, I got them on the phone, so I guess that's okay!

Glenda I am so thick. We have the nuk teats at work too, and the straight teats. Blonde moment!

TheDetective · 01/03/2013 22:42

Don't let VQ see the cats though. Grin

Passmethecrisps · 01/03/2013 22:44

Weird VQ. P's appointments are with the HV and the doc comes in midway through to do a general observation and answer any questions. I have no idea if this is just because of her reflux n shit

TheDetective · 01/03/2013 22:44

He will be fine horsey. Technically I've been away from O for 12 hours when DP has done the night feeds plus got up with him in the morning when I've taken DS1 to school, and then he's asleep when I've got home, so really, he hasn't seen me for 12 hours. I don't think he even notices Grin as long as he's been fed, played with, and I'd say clean, but I don't think he even cares about that!!

BigPigLittlePig · 01/03/2013 22:45

detective you can have my cat if you like? Earlier on, dh came marching into the back garden having heard something, as I watched something out the kitchen window. What was this something? The cat, jumping sideways across the garden, growling/howling like a banshee - at a leaf
This was after he had, once again, jumped up at the letterbox to tear the post out of the poor posties hand Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 01/03/2013 22:47

BP your cat sounds AWESOME!

Kyzordz · 01/03/2013 22:48

Sounds like a plan detective I like purples idea of sunshine Saturday :)

You would kick ass as a hv vq

That must've been awful eliza but yay for the 100ml :D

Erm

Glad the milk is helping apple

He will be ok horsey though no doubt you'll feel like you've left him forever!

Gonna look at nuk bottles n the wraps tomorrow detective

Feeding ds, about 6oz gone in 15 mins. Why has he stopped drinking like this in the day?!? Still, it could be so much worse is how I must look at it

Did I forget anyone?

pr how did fish cakes turn out?

Passmethecrisps · 01/03/2013 22:48

^weird post was really aimed at detective.

Kyzordz · 01/03/2013 22:50

Lol at your cat bplp!!

TheDetective · 01/03/2013 22:52

It wasn't really pass Grin ]grin]

Kyz I put something on my facebook this evening, and one of my old colleagues commented about her 10 month old, said he was exactly the same as O. To the point that lying down was the only time he wasn't sick. Her theory was that he fed (he is still feeding twice a night!!) at night so much and so well because he was able to keep it down.

She might be on to something there!

BP Deal! He sounds awesome! He'd fit in just fine here!!

ValiumQueen · 01/03/2013 22:59

Thank you for the lovely comments ladies. You have cheered me up no end x

horsey you will feel like your arm has been cut off. E will be fine! I hope the conference goes well and you get to do lots of networking.

eliza my sympathies x not nice, but a case of being cruel to be kind.

J asleep at 9. Watched part of Skyfall. Too tired to stay up.

Sweet dreams all x

StuntNun · 01/03/2013 23:04

Fab news Apple!

Hope all goes well tonight Eliza and you get some answers and progress quickly.

Glenda I use the Oilatum Cream almost daily as the cradle cap cones back so quickly. I rub it in ten minutes before his bath so it's in really thickly. Then I bath him in Oilatum Jr bath stuff as it's also quite greasy and J has dry skin but no eczema yet. Then I wash the cream off and rub his head with a facecloth which he loves, I think it must be quite itchy. After his bath I brush his hair to remove any other loose flakes. This gets most if the scales off but it will reappear the next day. I probably bath him 5-6 times a week but that's also because he loves baths so much.

I like the idea of a jokes day tomorrow. I'll tell my pope joke seeing as it's topical.

7oz in 20 mins. Sleeping still. Bless him. Fingers totally crossed he has a better day tomorrow! Still managed to total 35iz despite major dicking around. It would've been alot less if I left him to it I think. I do stop trying when he is seeming to get stressed but alot of the time he is trying to play I think. I think he has the first bit to take the hunger off and then messes about. If I were braver I'd let him have his 4oz and still push for a 4hr gap to the next feed and see what happens, but I daren't.

Sounds like it works out detective, e feeds beautifully in his sleep and can do so when awake but very sleepy. It's just bizarre that such a hungry boy seems to only want half all of a sudden. He has done this before and it only lasted a few days. Each time he does it I try the next teat size and this evening he had a choking fit and tbh as much as it grates on me to have to fight to feed him I would rather not repeat said choking episode!

Night all, see you tomorrow, sunshine Saturday!

TheDetective · 01/03/2013 23:20

The Nuk teats don't need any pissing around with changing teats. They have the same size from 0-6 months. Although to be honest, it's a fast flow, and I don't see how a newborn would get on with them Confused but they seem perfect for O. And comfy to hold. Which is odd! I never realised they were uncomfy to hold til I fed him with these!

We've upped his bottles to 7oz, and have a spare 10oz in the fridge to make him up an extra 2-3 oz with feeds if he needs it. I still can't get over him taking 9oz this evening. He did only take 4oz at bedtime, but he was over tired. He's fed enough in the day that he should be okay.

O is nosy in the day, that's the problem!

BigPigLittlePig · 01/03/2013 23:28

Gah how is it 11.30 already!?

Night all, sprinkling sleepy dust to one and all.

Will be back on Sunday, no doubt there'll be one or two hundreds pages to catch up on Hmm

Pikz · 02/03/2013 00:10

What do you call a Frenchman In sandals?

Pikz · 02/03/2013 00:11

ValiumQueen · 02/03/2013 00:22

What do you get if you pour boiling water down a rabbit hole?

Hot cross bunnies!

I am shite at jokes.

J however is having a larf tonight. Awake at 11.30 and just settled.

I meant to comment the other day... A few have mentioned baby waking and rocking them etc to settle, and then eventually offering a feed and baby then settling. The first thing I do is shove a boobie in his gob, and he has yet to refuse it. It shuts him up for a start! Is this a bf v ff thing? With the whole ease of bf, always available etc? Whereas with a bottle it needs preparing etc? Just curious really.

Going to attempt sleep again.

ValiumQueen · 02/03/2013 00:23

A horse walks into a pub and asks the barman for some chips. The barman replies 'sorry, but we don't serve food'.

PurplePidjin · 02/03/2013 01:52

VQ, boob is the answer in this house too. No idea how I'd sort him out otherwise Confused

Did you hear about the man with five willies? His underpants fit like a glove.

TheDetective · 02/03/2013 02:08

Rofl!

First feed. Better than last night. Anything is an improvement on last night. Hmm.

He has a different cry shout for hunger so i can usually tell if he has woken for a feed. Til recently he only ever woke for a feed. Recently, he wakes for cuddles or so it seems.
