IsThat I'm having sleeping issues too. Have been awake since ds woke at 2:30 Hmm he went straight back to sleep though.

Re the bottle I wouldn't worry too much. Sterilising afaik is more to do with formula so should be fine but maybe say 'oh I hadn't sterilised that bottle you used can I/you make sure it gets done next time'

IsThatTrue · 06/03/2013 07:05

Spotty it wasn't even washed Blush I'm not so bothered about the sterilising tbh

SpottyTeacakes · 06/03/2013 07:11

Oh sorry I misread it! Yes definitely say something!

SpottyTeacakes · 06/03/2013 07:16

Ds has just fallen fast asleep in his bouncy chair sucking his thumb Grin no bouncing required!

IsThatTrue · 06/03/2013 07:36

Just mentioned it and he said 'well I washed it but didn't use that steralisy thingy Grin The ones in the box didn't look clean' Wtf? Those washed sterilised ones didn't look clean. Lol oh well at least it was washed and he knows for next time!

Chloe55 · 06/03/2013 07:47

isthat dh put all our bottles in the dishwasher whilst I was away and classed that as sterilising. When I had ds I had heard it was as good as because of the temp the dishwasher gets to but I was still a bit anxious about ever doing it!

PurplePidjin · 06/03/2013 08:25

R just rolled on his side :o

IsThatTrue · 06/03/2013 08:26

Chloe a dishwasher is the same as sterilising but obviously do whatever you feel happiest with.

If I wasn't given a steriliser I wouldn't have bothered as with dd I used to cold rinse then sterilise Hmm stupid 17 yo me and she survived so I'm sure a well washed bottle is better.

2blessed · 06/03/2013 08:31

equimum your LO sounds like mine in terms of physicality and DS was born 8lb 13 too 9 weeks ago tomorrow.

I prefer to do the sterilising myself as I've noticed that dp hasn't separated teat from the ring or washed the bottles before puting into the steriliser.

Barbeasty · 06/03/2013 08:58

Bristol children's hospital doesn't sterilize bottles at all. We just used the dishwasher last time, and I need to dig the stuff out again.

DS is sleeping ok, but was really struggling to breath through his blocked nose this morning. And he certainly isn't the quietest sleeper at the moment.

I think this time seems to have gone quickly when they get a bit older. When a 2 or 3 year old is talking back, stroppy and dressing themselves (tshirt shorts and tights today!) this period where they can't even roll over seems so short and so easy

MaMaPo · 06/03/2013 09:29

Oof - not much sleep here post 4am feed - husband kept stealing the duvet, then C woke before 6 yelling while trying to poo. Got that cleaned up then she fell asleep for a while in our bed (as I continued to try to wrestle some duvet back). She kept really crying/shouting in her sleep.

Willyou, were you talking about night terrors? Who gets them?

Where's all the sunshine today then ?!

Barbeasty I have a nightmare toddler atm. Her latest thing is throwing things, mainly her toys, sometimes they hit ds. Quite often though it's like she does it and only when I look at her she realises what she's done. This morning she threw her spatula and it hit ds in the head so I said (in my stern voice Wink) 'no, that wasn't very nice you don't throw your toys poor ds' and she burst into tears Confused

MaMaPo · 06/03/2013 09:33

Oh yes, meant to mention that I do a quick hand wash of bottles and pumping kit, but sterilise in the microwave. I have a tiny steriliser that takes up no room, and tbh I trust it more than I trust myself to wash properly. Such a slattern

C particularly fascinated by own fists today, and also raising her head beautifully during tummy time. (That's when I can see all the muck caught in her neck folds.)

Pidj - well done R! C has made some good lurches but no rolling yet.

Oh good god, I have jeremy kyle on in the background. dd has stopped playing on her mat, managed to twist her body round and is mesmerized. We have had to have 'the talk' on her never ever becoming part of the line up!

utopian99 · 06/03/2013 09:42

Well done R!

O has worked out that putting all arms and legs in the air means he can then roll to his side, but can't do anything from there. We call it his dead beetle routine. Grin

WLmum · 06/03/2013 09:59

I'll get a shock if T starts rolling, dd1 rolled over once and dd2 never!

Hooray T has stayed asleep in the car seat since school drop off so poor neglected dd2 is getting some cuddles.

PurplePidjin · 06/03/2013 10:03

He's dead-beetled before, this was clearly deliberate and repeated :o will try and fb a pic...

WillYouDoTheFandango · 06/03/2013 10:23

Yay well done R!

Mama Jamie gets them, he will be peacefully sleeping then will start screaming in his sleep. Then he opens his eyes but I can't calm him down. They're horrible.

I'm struggling to sleep at nights, the hen do draws ever closer and I am getting nervous!

Chloe55 · 06/03/2013 10:29

willyou I was fighting tears on Saturday morning before the hen do, thankfully we were so busy from the minute I woke that I didn't have time to dwell. It really did do me and dh the world of good. I was convinced dd would not cope without me, obviously she did which made meSmile but also a bitSad Grin Bloody hell I missed her though, I couldn't wait to get home in the morning. Obviously I miss ds when I go away too but he absolutely loves daddy and son time so I know he will be fine. Oh and can't remember if you are bf but if you are then make sure you express well, I couldn't be bothered was too drunk when I got in and was in agony when I woke up!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 06/03/2013 10:45

I'm not BF Chloe I am going for 2 nights though if I last. I know DP will be fine but ill miss them both

Chloe55 · 06/03/2013 10:50

Ooh, yeah 2 nights is gonna be hard, sorry Sad Can you not just go for one? On the 2 night hen do's I've done in the past one night is usually stopping in and playing games etc, the other is a night out. You will have a lovely time though. When ds was 5mths old I went to marbella on a hen do for 3 nights, I felt obliged to go as it was a really close friend. I enjoyed it but felt sick at times because I missed ds so much!

IsThatTrue · 06/03/2013 11:18

DS just started screaming in the sling while out, so we're now in a cafe having a rare feed out and about. The waitress was cooing over DS while he was feeding although in sure all she was thinking was 'thank god he shut up!' Grin

Got 3 pairs of trousers for £4 in charity shops in 3-6 months, he's for some really cute tips but had no trousers! Though the shopping feels like a secondary activity to the 'having little old ladies coo over DS' Grin this day off is doing me good!

ISpyPlumPie · 06/03/2013 11:46

Sounds like a lovely day Isthat.

Great news about rolling Pidge - well done R!

Willyou - DS1 occasionally gets night terrors too. He'll appear to wake up and be v upset, repeatedly crying "mummy" but is clearly not awake as he doesn't realise I'm there hugging him. It's horrible to see. He'll then just go back to sleep as if nothing happened. I don't think I realised that he might have been having them as a baby - would occasionally get really random bad crying which would stop as quickly as it started so think he probably was. Hopefully he'll grow out of it - though apparently DH would sleepwalk and talk to plants well into primary school so could be a while yet.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 06/03/2013 12:04

These babies, scare the life out of you!

Glad you've had a nice morning Isthat. I love the asda shop for cooing opportunities! Any excuse to show him off.

The first night is a murder mystery in the hotel with a big group of us Chloe, the second is a night out with just closest friends. I'm a bridesmaid otherwise I wouldn't go. Also theres a huge backstory woth the bride asking me to wait two years to have a baby so we could try together! i cant imagine the fallout if i didn't go! DP is going on the stag in Majorca in April, it's 4 days and he doesn't want to leave us either. We're a soppy lot! Wouldn't think we used to be hard hearted northerners with stiff upper lips!

The round of 30th birthdays starts in a few weeks. I'm so miserable now, would prefer to become a hermit!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 06/03/2013 12:05

Hmm used up my entire week's ration of exclamation points in that post.
