Well he was on his changer sucking his thumb looking v sleepy so I put him in his sleeping bag, closed the curtains and popped him in the cot. I patted his yummy for a bit whilst he sucked his thumb but then dd started being noisy so I let him suck my finger (less effort for him) and he fell asleep! It's not something I can do on nursery days unfortunately but it's a start

ISpyPlumPie · 05/03/2013 11:03

That's great Spotty Smile.

It goes without saying that immunisations are a wonderful thing, and it would be a million times worse if they got any of the illnesses but seeing that betrayed look doesn't get any easier. Think it was more difficult with DS1 this time as they are probably the first jabs he'll remember Sad. Still, can't have traumatised him too much as he told me on the way home that he wants to be a nurse and give people injections when he grows up Grin.

Chloe55 · 05/03/2013 11:16

I think thats otherwise known as revenge ispy Grin

Great news on the cot sleep spotty I've started trying to put dd down in the bed nest for daytime naps and the past couple of days have so far been successful.

Secondsop · 05/03/2013 11:24

Well done spotty! I'm hoping we can achieve the same when we're back from holiday.

MaMaPo · 05/03/2013 11:31

Spotty, amazing.

ISpy, your son would make an amazing nurse! Hope he's feeling okay.

The never ending saga of the pram screaming - now I'm wondering if its part of C's inability to nap during the day without huge protests. She was ok in it this morning while she was alert, but starting cryin when she looked drowsy. I stopped a couple of times to reassure her, and now we're inside she's fallen asleep. I think I have worked out that she likes to hold my hand as she falls asleep, and she can't do that when she's in the pram. When we got inside I held her hand and she dropped off.

Boy, she feels a bit tricky at the moment! Everyone keeps telling me everything gets easier at 3 months...

I have to say mamapo ds seems to have turned a corner since hitting three months, could just be a coincidence though Wink

Secondsop · 05/03/2013 12:31

mamapo we are in Daylesford :)

EggsMichelle · 05/03/2013 12:53

The magical 3months, do they start talking and reading the paper and cook dinner for you?

F through daggers at the nurse when he had his jabs, good lad! Cuddle and bottle from mummy and I was instantly forgiven, the nurse looked quite upset!

MaMaPo · 05/03/2013 13:25

:) seconds - go have a drink on the terrace at Lake House - we got married outside by the lake. Love that place.

Hmm, hv doesn't reckon it's a tooth but all the signs are there including a hard white dot on his gum and the abnesol on his gum calmed him so k think the hv may be wrong again after all she missed thrush so bad it has taken 3 weeks to clear up

halesball · 05/03/2013 14:36

Had a awful night with H, she got very agitated so i brought her downstairs and managed to settle her. Then her eyes started to swell shut, so i rushed her to A+E where they started going back down, then swelled back up again. This happened about 4 times. Also her patches of Excema seemed to spread. She was admitted to the ward for observation. Luckily her eyes have stopped swelling and she seems happier. Shes now been discharged with a Upper Respiratory Tract Infection and we can go straight back to the ward anytime in the next 48 hours if her symptoms get worse or if the swelling starts again. I havn't slept since yesterday morning, but now can't sleep incase she starts swelling again. The only good thing about last night was her chuckle has turned into a proper laugh now.

Spotty and Chloe hope your experiment goes well.

HoneyMumandSon · 05/03/2013 14:43

Oh hales poor thing. Glad she got seen, all sounds really stressful. Hugs.

MaMaPo · 05/03/2013 14:50

What else would a hard white dot on the gum be!? I'm sure there are decent HVs out there, but still...

Hope Dash feels better, honey!

Oh hales - how frightening! Fx she's on the mend now.

Just made an impromptu cake and invited my NCT friends over. House is only mild bomb site.

This weather is divine!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/03/2013 15:33

Oh Hales how awful. Hope she's better soon

Chloe55 · 05/03/2013 15:47

Was it an allergy of some sort hales how scary Sad , hope you have an uneventful night.

mama knows best Wink

WillYouDoTheFandango · 05/03/2013 15:52

Poor DD Hales, hope she's on the mend soon.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 05/03/2013 16:27

So to sum up today's findings: J does not like his pram or his playgym, doesn't want to eat but screams for it and sicks it back up, is gp

WillYouDoTheFandango · 05/03/2013 16:29

Oops weeing through nappies like they're going out of fashion and won't sleep.

He does like: licking my face, sucking my hair, lying on the changing mat with his willy out.

Roll on bedtime!

EggsMichelle · 05/03/2013 16:31

Wow Hales, is your dp about so you can get some rest?

F had an epic 4hr nap in the middle of the day, waking briefly for a feed in the middle! He's a sleeping machine at the mo and I don't really know what to do with myself. He can also occupy himself in his chair or play gym, feel I should get my knitting goin again!

MaMaPo · 05/03/2013 17:21

Oh eggs, a sleepy baby! Wanna swap?

Oh willyou - what a crazy baby!

OP posts:
halesball · 05/03/2013 17:24

Thank you everyone, Chloe they think its possibly from where she has started rubbing her eyes not a allergy. Eggs my DP is in bed he works permanent nights, he's off tonight but when we got home i had my second wind, so sent him to bed. I'll sleep later while he looks after H. She seems ok in herself, just very quiet (which isn't like her).

Willyou, hope J is ok and that he's enjoying naked time haha.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 05/03/2013 17:50

It's horrible when they're out of sorts Hales and so frightening that she was so poorly.

Eggs I was there with the sleeping baby who entertained himself up until today, it has not lasted!

J has finally crashed out. In the end I put him on his playmat and let him whinge for 5 mins. He ate his dog teddy for a bit then fell asleep. Today has been a trying day and DP is on a new shift pattern 11:30am-8:30pm. So still a long time to go and I can hear J stirring again Confused

Chloe55 · 05/03/2013 19:18

My dd who usually goes down at 6.30pm has screamed the house down on and off since 4pm, she's so so dribbly. Have given In, given Calpol and we are both tucked up in my bed together, she's fighting sleep, I def think either her gums are sore or she's coming down with something Sad

SeymoreInOz · 05/03/2013 19:31

Every 2 hours last night. Sad He's 13 weeks now, this is getting silly! And for the last week he's refused all bottles.

Will catch up on the thread now while I mainline some coffee.
