Quiet evening ladies (and babies?)

DH has put up some photos from O's first two months on fb and his aunt has 'liked' all 36 of them, 10 minutes after being posted. We are both slightly scared as ever since he was born she has liked or commented on any photo or status involving him from either of us in lightning time. It's meant well I'm sure but looks a bit freaky to us and probably anyone else who sees either of our updates. Is there anything we can do, or just chill out and leave her to it?

FriendofDorothy · 03/03/2013 22:30

Oh I'd just leave her to it. Harmless enough I would think.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/03/2013 23:46

Hindu glad dash is ok.

Utopian I would just leave it Smile

3 hours 50 minutes, nearly four Wink not the two I thought it would be so all good! I really, really need a wee though!

halesball · 04/03/2013 00:52

Glad D is ok Honey and that you know what it is now it'll save u from worrying all night

Utopian i'd leave it also, shes probably just being a proud aunty.

Mama how is your LO now? I jump in the shower with H now. I think the combination of skin to skin and warm water running over her calms her, then we get out dry and if she starts again i just put a nappy on her and BF under my bed covers she loves it.

SeymoreInOz · 04/03/2013 01:22

I've missed a lot over the weekend!

coffee ages upthread you asked what everyone missed about pregnancy. I loved being pregnant (despite all the niggles) and after my first two DCs I really missed it. This time I don't, I suppose that means I've come to terms with no more babies! I do miss the kicks etc. and definitely the glowing, plump skin. I look a bit haggard at the moment!

saphiesgirl That's great that DD has the all clear! How are you feeling now? DS1 got sepsis at 3 weeks old and was in intensive care for a week. I was really down for months afterwards. I hope you've got plenty of support?

MaMa How is she now? Is she feeding ok? I hope so. I agree with pidj, a warm bath followed by a big feed usually breaks the cycle of screaming for my DS. If you are in any way worried that she's not well or she's not feeding then don't be afraid to call the OOH GP.

Honey I'm glad everything is ok now, blood in the nappy is a bit of a shock! Just read your post about your family christmas. I don't blame you for being upset. Is it something you can talk to your mum about?

utopian My MIL is the same on facebook. The only reason she joined was to see photos of the kids and she gets an email notification every time I upload a photo.

Whoop spotty A stretch over 3 hours is brilliant, I love those!

Grin at eggs strapping baby on the car! I bet the fresh air would work though...

seconds I hope the green nappy was a one off. Maybe he's drinking more foremilk? DS gets greenish nappies if I'm engorged with lots of foremilk, which tends to happen if he's had a bottle and I haven't expressed at the same time.

We had a pretty broken night last night. DS kept refusing the second breast and just got ratty if I tried to persist with it. So I ended up letting him sleep knowing that he'll be up hungry again soon!

IsThatTrue · 04/03/2013 02:01

First wake up here.

spotty glad DS appears to have turned a corner.

mama I hope dd is better now. It's awful when they're inconsolable!

eggs on the car sometimes just sometimes...

I'm knackered after my overtime this weekend (£150 almost makes it worth it). Feel like I'm in desperate need of a break though. Need to make sure I don't burn myself out.

EggsMichelle · 04/03/2013 03:29

It's no 5.30, but 8-3 is good enough for me. F has decided he doesn't want to go back to sleep, watching the news instead!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/03/2013 05:00

Ds woke again at three, which is fine, but them woke again at 4:40. Was hungry and had pooed (who knows when Blush) now he's wide awake and smiling Sad

I've got a pretty busy day. Going to bf group then straight into ds's hospital appointment he has to have an ECG before seeing the doctor.

He keeps gulping air when feeding so must have a bad latch? Also he dribbles and has a bubbly mouth all the time. Anyone else?

MaMaPo · 04/03/2013 05:05

Thanks for inquiries all - after a short nap when I took her out in the pram she was calm enough to feed and fells asleep pretty promptly around 9.15 or so. She's been up at 1 and just now, so some decent 4 hour stretches. She's calm and sleeping well. I think the most distressing part was that she was too worked up to nurse. That's my trump card and suddenly didn't work!

Isthat, yes, you must watch yourself and your health. Can you get a break somehow?

Seymore, C just falls deeply asleep when she's done at night. Can't force more milk into her without a nappy change and that wakes her up too much! Can't win. Hope your night isn't too broken.

MaMaPo · 04/03/2013 05:08

Spotty, C is increasingly dribbly and I've found she blows lots of bubbles when we're out in the cold - I think it makes her purse her lips!

Not much on today. Song time at the library, but apart from that got plenty of washing and unpacking from the weekend away. What a glamorous life!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/03/2013 05:16

I've got to make dinner (chilli) between talking dd to nursery and going to bf group as I'm not going to get home until 4:30 and dd needs to eat at five ish.

I've come downstairs and ds has gone to sleep Hmm

Ds only ever feeds one side (day and night) for 15 mins max and then goes straight to sleep at night time.

WLmum · 04/03/2013 07:13

8.45 til 6.15!!! She did 'wake' about 2.15 and I got all ready to feed her but she settled herself - first time ever. My mission now is to get to bed a bit earlier so I can start to catch up on some sleep. Finding it really hard to be in bed before 10.30/11 - there's always so much to do.

spotty t seems to be really windy at the moment, I'm not aware of her taking in air when she feeds but she must be.

coffee/aeymour I def miss the lovely baby in my belly bit if being pg but it was much much harder this time and I don't miss the immobility and knackeredness!

pmgkt · 04/03/2013 07:24

Well done baby wl! I'm jealous but ed did 7-3 then 3.30- half 6 so 8 hours was great as I went to bed early and got 6 hours sleep.

utopian99 · 04/03/2013 08:06

Wow, well done baby wl! V Envy

I guess IABU about DH's aunt and nothing we can do, I think because we've both been on it since it was invented/uni students only, we still have an old fashioned view of how it should be used which has been superceeded but I do feel a bit like being stalked. (neither my mum or mil do it, and they're the grandparents!)

IsThatTrue · 04/03/2013 08:25

Well I've been up since I last posted (2.30 ish) Hmm DS went back to sleep after his feed but I just couldn't sleep! So I've had 4 hrs. Feeling quite chipper ATM but I know that'll change later.

This morning has been productive though, I've made I've cream and put it in the freezer and made the wedges for dinner. My lunch and dcs mash are defrosting and I was showered and dressed by 7am Shock

EggsMichelle · 04/03/2013 08:27

Utopian we also joined Facebook back in the uni student only days, and at first found it very annoying that it expanded to the masses, but now I am just annoyed with all the stupid chain email style photos people are posting!

I know he is too young, but DS's sleep was pretty rubbish after 3, and think DH might be disturbing him (practically launches me into the air when he tosses over in bed) seriously considering putting him in his own room and see if that improves his sleep.

utopian99 · 04/03/2013 08:30

And far more important than my petty rant, honey I hope everything's okay now?

seconds we've had some green nappies and I asked the doctor at his 8 week jabs but he said if he's okay otherwise not to worry.

mama we had an evening like that a few weeks back, definitely over tired but took hours and just doing everything over and over to calm him but it did end and so far was a one off (I hope!!)

Sounds weird I'm sure but I actually miss the last few huge weeks of pg just before going overdue. It felt very purposeful and useful if that makes sense?

WLmum · 04/03/2013 09:43

isthat!! Hope you manage a nap later.

eggs whenever you feel comfortable is fine. I tried with dd2 for the same reasons but it was wishful thinking - she still woke as much!

Secondsop · 04/03/2013 09:56

Hello all, thank you for your help with the green poo. Today's poo was also greeny-grey with yellow bits in; we changed formula a few days ago so I wonder if it could be that. The first couple of poos were the same yellow but maybe it took a couple of days to work through his system.

I'm a bit worried actually as although he is lovely and happy and smiley when awake, he isn't finishing his feeds by any means ( is taking around 130ml instead of the 180 he took at home).

halesball · 04/03/2013 10:14

Seconds is DS feeding more in between feeds now your in Australia? That could be a reason. If not are you still getting wet nappies? If so he'll be getting enough. But if your worried is there a health professional you could see?

Spotty H has been more dribbly and has loads of little bubbles, it seems to have coincided with when she dound her hands the other week.

I don't miss being pregnant at all. If i had to say the best thing about being pregnant though, it would be feeling H move. Oh and also the back rubs off DP.Smile

Secondsop · 04/03/2013 11:25

hales thanks - I thought he was feeding more in between, but looking at my feeding logs I don't think he really is, or at least not significantly more given how hot it is here. I'll see how he is tomorrow; still getting wet and dirty nappies, just greenish ones!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/03/2013 13:28

Waiting for ds's ECG...

Went to bf group this morning was really good. Ds's been choking because he had a growth spurt and now I have engorgement and fast let down.

EggsMichelle · 04/03/2013 14:14

Good luck with the ECG, is it a routine follow up? Disappointed with my bf group, when I was struggling with feeding, they wernt very forthcoming with advice.

Does anyone else still have 'lazy days'? iv done nothing but feed F and watch TV. I'm still in my pjs, I don't want to cook just eat toast and ignor the house work!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/03/2013 14:17

All fine Smile yep just a follow up because he had a murmur when he was born

Chloe55 · 04/03/2013 14:57

Haven't fully had time to catch up yet but dd is another very dribbly baby-is it too early for teething or are all the babies just going through a phase that's normal?

After a rather long discussion with dh I decided to go on the hen do. I'm so glad I did. Dh really enjoyed his time with both kids and said he feels so much more in tune with dd now. It sounds like they all had a lovely time Grin

I got very drunk and despite pumping and dumping my boobs hurt-a lot!!
