Well ds2 was up 4/5 times but they were only 15 minutes snacking wake ups. He's now a very awake happy chatty boy! :)

HoneyMumandSon · 03/03/2013 08:56

Thanks for not chucking me off for being a rambly cow last night, and thanks for well wishes.

We've had an interesting night. Went to change a pooey nappy and there was a tiny bit if blood in it. Called nhs direct and then the out of hours dr who said if it happens again its straight to a and e. just on tenterhooks now waiting for next nappy filling...

WillYouDoTheFandango · 03/03/2013 09:03

Oh no Honey I hope D is alright, what a shit night. Fingers crossed the next one is clear.

Yay well done Felix! It was my night off but J did 8-12, 12:30-6 again,?if that's the new pattern I'll have to start going to bed early. I am not a morning person!

SpottyTeacakes · 03/03/2013 09:04

Hope he's ok honey

ISpyPlumPie · 03/03/2013 09:11

Honey - sorry about your evening. Must have been really horrible. Sad

DS1 had blood in his nappy at about 5 months iirc. The dr couldn't find any obvious cause and we had to get a poo sample (which was a delightful task) but nothing untoward was found in it. We never really found out what it was but he's been fine ever since. Really hope everything's ok with D too - I remember how scary it was at the time.

Hooray for good sleep Spotty and WL.

N has rolled over! He was on his front being cleaned after a poosplosion when he flipped himself onto his back. He did it a couple more times when we moved him back. Looked very pleased with himself.

Saphiesgirl · 03/03/2013 09:16

Honey- don't worry about rant, good to vent sometimes. Sounds like a rotten evening and hope all turns out well with wee one.

Ispy- great news on the rolling over. I'm on tenterhooks for the same- you'll never have peace again!!

Secondsop · 03/03/2013 09:22

honey hope things are improved family-wise, and that the baby is ok -after that nappy - must be really scary, but if all else is well then hopefully it's just one of those things.

We've just had a greeny nappy. Our first one. Z is formula fed with breast alongside it and we changed formula a few days ago, and he's been having a bit more breast than normal as we're currently in a hot climate. He's been very sleepy during the day too which could just be jet lag. What causes green poo in combi-fed babies?

EggsMichelle · 03/03/2013 09:28

That's brilliant Spotty, hope you feel refreshed!

I have worked with people with alcohol addiction and sadly unless they want to quit, no amount of persuasion will make them give it up. I understand your frustration Honey.

F slept 9-4.30, 5.15-7. DH has finished his nights, so will be interesting to see if him sleeping in the bedroom will effect F's sleep.

Yay for those DTD, we have managed it a few times and looking forward to our next baby free weekend!

WLmum · 03/03/2013 09:29

Oh honey! I do hope he's ok. Have you checked round his bum hole for signs of a little fissure or anything?

spotty I relate to your shouty mum - dd1 commented yesterday that daddy hadn't had to tell them off during an outing, followed by daddy hardly ever tells us off. I asked what about me - oh you tell us off all the time!

WLmum · 03/03/2013 09:31

Totally skewed perception - he tells them off way more as a percentage if the time we spend with them!

EggsMichelle · 03/03/2013 09:38

Rubbish, I always forget to refresh the page! Hope D is ok Honey. Seconds F had a green poo on Friday, I had bf that day for the first time in 4days and he had his jabs, so not sure what caused it but all cleared up now and back to korma poo.

HoneyMumandSon · 03/03/2013 11:05

Thanks all - had a very green poo with (sorry tmi) quite big 'seeds' (little white lumpy bits) but touch wood, no blood so hoping it was a one off. As long as nothing else unusual happens we're gonna leave it till tomorrow as take him to the gp- any more blood and well go straight to casualty.

Yay for all the sleeping babies

SpottyTeacakes · 03/03/2013 15:33

Seconds I reckon it's the breastfeeding, like you said he's feeding more frequently for the hydration (which would be the foremilk?). Ds seems to have one green poo every day, always the last one of the day Hmm

halesball · 03/03/2013 16:38

Honey sorry you had a crap night. Hope D is ok glad his second nappy was ok though.

Not sure about the green poo i combi feed and i've not had it, could it be something you've eaten.

Well the night out started with me crying as i left H in my mums Hmm. DP managed to talk me into not going back for her. We went for a meal and to the cinema then we were supposed to go out 4 a few drinks however i was exhausted and we came home and both went to bed ha. I did beg to go n get H though but DP refused. I was so happy to have her back this morning though.

MaMaPo · 03/03/2013 20:04

Mn help! Complete meltdown here, screaming for last hour, won't feed. First time, awful. Am out with her in pram, seems to be calming, fx falling asleep. Gave Calpol a while ago in case teeth. Anything else I should think of, do? An a bit scared.

OP posts:
EggsMichelle · 03/03/2013 20:09

I put F on the car when he has a meltdown. Have you tried tummy massage?

EggsMichelle · 03/03/2013 20:10

In the car not on, all though a blast of air from the roof of the car could also do the trick!

SpottyTeacakes · 03/03/2013 20:13

Oh mamapo it's awful when they're like that! I promise you she will stop. I just used to sit on my bed holding ds whilst slightly bouncing Confused and he would calm down. There is often no reason for it! Pram is a good idea, car as a last resort? Umm skin to skin, naked time, if all else fails just hold her and try to switch off. As long as you're comforting her that's the main thing. Or sling?

SpottyTeacakes · 03/03/2013 20:13

Grin Eggs

PurplePidjin · 03/03/2013 20:25

Food. Bum. Temperature (add or remove a layer of clothing). Wind. Repeat.

If in doubt, put baby in the bath. Sometimes just stripping and re-dressing R cheers him up?

WLmum · 03/03/2013 20:30

Poor mama. Is she over tired? Fx she's had a nap and is now feeling better.

MaMaPo · 03/03/2013 20:37

Thanks all. She slept in pram (don't have a car) but woke just now as we came in. Started crying again but got her on the breast before really kicked off. She'd had a bath, I took clothes in and off twice and eventually changed them in case of tags/prickles, tried skin to skin, singing, dancing, bouncing, white noise etc etc.

Thank god pram worked - will be out again if this doesn't work - but cursed to the bloody northern hemisphere winter. I had to come home as my finger were freezing! Walking around the streets gave me a chance to call my mum for some moral support though!

Thanks for all the tips everyone - and yes, I think she is overtired x a million. Here's hoping a decent feed will do the trick.

HoneyMumandSon · 03/03/2013 20:40

Poor you mama. Like spotty says, there is normally no reason for these meltdowns, although that doesn't make it any easier! Often with D it's trapped wind if anything when he's like that but often not! Sorry, not really any help!

Well, we had another nappy with blood at 2pm so spent the rest of the afternoon in a and e. he was merrily grinning away to all the nurses ad seemed ok in himself. They reckoned a fistula caused by tummy bug and keep an eye on him but very glad we got him checked.

MaMaPo · 03/03/2013 20:43

Also, I love that my post about the crying fit was number 666 on this thread.
