daisy if sterilise it first off i think.

vq excellent news!!!

YellowWellies · 25/02/2013 13:03

daisy I think you need to sterilise all bottles and cups until six months as they're vulnerable to bugs.

Kyzordz · 25/02/2013 13:08

vq that's awesome! What a little champ!

detective and passme that's what it's like with e. he did it again today, he was a bit over tired and I put him down but he cried so I picked him up and went to cuddle him on the sofa and he screamed blue murder! Put him in his bed again and he's asleep now. He has a clean nappy, fed at 11, wind came up ok, temp is fine, so I am guessing he just needed a quick kip and we had had visitors so perhaps he hadnt realised he was tired until they left, he hadnt yawned until they went and just turned into a stressy mess! He seems to like playing/sitting/bouncer type stuff over me so it felt a bit like being kicked when he decided I'm not even ok for sleeping on now! Never mind, he's growing up and I guess it's awesome that he wants to sleep in his bed?!?

Group hug, they must love us really :) they do they do

passme I couldn't ask you to get him any milk it's like £11 a tub as its aptamil anti reflux, I'd need to send you some money first at least! Thankfully I have located two tubs that dp has just gone to collect. Boots is the only place you can get this milk from and our local store told me this morning they weren't even able to order me any :(

Have more to say but ds woke up, back shortly ...

Sophiathecheesefairy · 25/02/2013 13:11

Hi All, we got here finally. A daddy and a toddler and a mummy with no sleep last night but all still smiling amazingly.

Anyway. Stupid question number 1. I normally make up my formula feeds fresh when I am at home, or use a carton. I thought I would make them in advance this week and fridge them and reheat which I think is what you do isn't it -detective? How do you make sure that the steam from the water doesn't make half the formula stick to the inside of the measurer? I did let the boiled water cool for 20 mins but it is still steamy. Obviously I have not go a thermometer with me. Should i have let it cool longer?

We have the ground floor of a house! Hopefully when we pop back up there this afternoon there might be a 1st floor too.

daisychain76 · 25/02/2013 13:16

Thanks YW and horsey Might not bother til he?s 6 months then Smile.

thechick l guess it depends if you have the receipt and how expensive they were.

gardenpixie32 · 25/02/2013 13:16

I let mine cool for 30 minutes. I also keep old spoons, I have about 6 and I swap spoons after every second bottle I make up. I make 12 bottles a day so definitely worth me keeping a few spoons.

Sophiathecheesefairy · 25/02/2013 13:26

Thanks garden

Before I go ack to catch up yw we need a fb picture of your new hair too!

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/02/2013 13:34

glenda hugs and nothing is tmi on this thread. I agree with others, chat to him before he feels like he is making you upset. It's a hard conversation but he may be feeling like crap as he feels like he's making you feel crap iyswim. Clear the air, carry on as you are and things will get back to normal I'm sure. Just takes a while.

E hasn't gone more than 6 consecutive hours and she's only done that twice after having a bottle about 8 weeks a go. I don't see her sleeping through for a long time yet. Not until she bulks herself up. She's really good and wakes, feeds and then goes back off so I can't complain. A nights unbroken sleep would be fantastic but at the moment we're doing ok. Just hope it's not still like this in 6 months time!

Sophiathecheesefairy · 25/02/2013 13:38

Party on vq 8 hours. So tell us vq you must feel elated at the new development...........

Kyzordz · 25/02/2013 13:39

Before I forget, I have a tub of c & g comfort, still sealed, if anyone wants it? E doesn't drink that one and I didn't know if anyone here had a baby that did, as I read there's a shortage of that too?

fruitpastilles · 25/02/2013 14:37

kyzordz you can order the aptimil anti reflux from boots online, S has cow and gate anti reflux and they don't sell it in my local boots or tesco so I order it, I've just checked and the aptimil is in stock.

horseylady · 25/02/2013 14:44

:( I hate jabs :(

ChunkyChicken · 25/02/2013 14:58

On 8th feed & still got another 9hrs before midnight. This had better be a bloody growth spurt!!! Hmm

Contradictionincarnate · 25/02/2013 15:01

my dd has not eaten much today was taking it as rejecting my boob after bottles over dm ... she has been wailing and wailing so I felt v guilty ...she hated me and would rather be with dm ... glad she is sleeping now guess she needs it!

Thechick · 25/02/2013 15:03

daisy they are from m&s, about £4 I think. If I was to take it back I would exchange it for a bigger size.

TheDetective · 25/02/2013 15:16

Kyz I'd like to try O on it, would you mind sending it to me if I paypal you the ££?

MOT failed as usual. Never had a car pass and it isn't like I use and abuse the fecking things.

Luckily it's 'only' £91 this time Hmm. It needs some coil in the front wheel replacing as it has apparently snapped. I'm so sceptical. Surely I'd notice something like that? Oh and the headlight beam isn't right. Or something like that. Confused

Ever feel like the garage are having a laugh with your money?!

Will catch up this evening! DP has me on nurse duty as he has had his ingrown toenails removed from both big toes. Urghhhh.

TheDetective · 25/02/2013 15:18

Sophia I've never found a way of stopping the clog. Bit daft isn't it?!

TheDetective · 25/02/2013 15:22

M&S usually good with returns chick I'd take them back.

I'm returning stuff to Tesco today that bobbled in one wash. 4 out of the 5 matching items look awful after one wash and as you probably all know, I wash all O's clothes separate to the rest, and they are in delicate bags and inside out and buttoned up! I'd dread to think how bad they would look if I hadn't!

Expecting hassle. Tesco are cunts.

Passmethecrisps · 25/02/2013 15:45

sophia you could measure into separate containers then tip into the water. Tommee tippee do little pots for when you are out. I usually just have a couple of spoons on the go. I also have mastered the art of fast tippage

Kyzordz · 25/02/2013 16:29

That's fine detective pm me your address and I shall send it to you :)

fruitpastilles I have ordered some, did so this morning, but haven't received confirmation yet :/ do hope it works, the couple of tubs I have won't last too long with the amount he drinks!

I hate jabs too horsey e has his 3rd (and final for now I think?) jabs next Tuesday. Will be glad to get them out of the way!

E is asleep. He barely manages 2 hours of awake time and then he's sleeping again! Not for long, mind, he only does half hour and almost always wakes up crying!

PetiteRaleuse · 25/02/2013 16:36

We have jabs end of next week. Last ones I think before MMRV?

LO's temp isn't too high, and she's drinking and breathing ok, but she looks ill. Watery eyes, a tad too pale etc. Hoping she's just got a mild dose.

I'm determined to be better tomorrow, so have done lots of rest today. Not slept as I want to sleep properly tonight.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/02/2013 16:38

And yes Detective tesco are cunts, as are jabs and the flu. The flu jab that I am going to insist we all get next autumn isn't a cunt though.

kirrinIsland · 25/02/2013 16:41

Late to the party as always!
Yay miniVQ - brilliant! I expect you feel like a new person VQ ?!

I still have a snotty baby - saline and snot sucker always to hand in this house.

((hugs)) glenda

Pikz · 25/02/2013 17:03

Excellent... He sleeps now which means he will be neither tired nor hungry before bed..

applepieinthesky · 25/02/2013 17:07

Yep Detective you are right about Tesco.

I went to Asda earlier to do my food shopping, went to get some Aptamil and they didn't have any Angry I only wanted the normal first milk. Not the comfort one. They never had any in Tesco a couple of weeks ago either for several days. I hope there's not going to be supply issues with that as well.

DS is really unsettled today. He has cried loads this afternoon and it's not like him at all. His test results came back clear but something's not right. If he's still like this in a couple of days we will be going back to the doctors again.
