Glenda talk to him

BigPigLittlePig · 25/02/2013 10:29

Well done valium prince
glenda I have little of practical use to add, but do talk to dh - the reality is usually not half as bad as you imagine Thanks
Sorry to hear about more shit nights
Get well soon pr & all the poorly LOs

Hungry baby alert here this morning - bed at 9.30 then feeds at 5 and 7, she's currently busy draining the 2nd boob. This could end in a river-of-vom situation.

One year ago today I was having my hair done for my wedding Smile

ChunkyChicken · 25/02/2013 10:43

glenda agree with everyone else. Talk to DH. It might be nothing to do with how you feel to him, its just you are sensitive about the impact having a baby would have had. It could be due to having stuff on his mind, for example, or just worrying that you're not enjoying it.

Passmethecrisps · 25/02/2013 10:46

Lovely BP! Are you doing anything nice to celebrate?

Hmm. Moving to Carobel from infant gaviscon might be difficult. You need to prepare the bottle 5 minutes before use. It continues to thicken all the time so is useless after 45 minutes. I rushed off to make p's bottle when she whimpered earlier but now she is sitting quite happily with the dummy I gave her thinking she would start crying. Obviously not really hungry. Also a bit concerned about its sterility but that's another issue.

BigPigLittlePig · 25/02/2013 10:54

pass we'll go out for a meal at some point, when F can be left for a bit & will take a bottle. It's funny, before she was born, I had planned to leave her overnight with some friends so we could have a night out. So naive.

ChunkyChicken · 25/02/2013 10:54

Definitely growth spurt territory here. 6 feeds so far today - he normally does 6-8 in 24hrs!!! Shock

FatimaLovesBread · 25/02/2013 11:03

Anyone want a baby?
She's a right winge today. Anything I try she just moans. I'm absolutely shattered today and anything I do just makes her grumpier. She's tired but won't sleep. Wonder if it's a late growth spurt or me just being knackered and fed up.

Also, I thought after 12 weeks your supply settled down? I've been waking up really engorged. Worried about my boobs thinkin I don't need as much milk and my supply dropping?

StuntNun · 25/02/2013 11:07

Detective if the squint is there all the time then you need to get a referral to the orthoptist. My DS2 has strabismus (squint) and amblyopia (lazy eye) and is massively long-sighted. His orthoptist said they would test J when he's a year old (if no sign of a squint before then). I asked my optician and she said they would test his vision for me at 6 months if I wanted.

Wow well done miniVQ Grin

glenda I sympathise. DH an I haven't done it yet as I'm still scared it'll be like waving a pencil in a cave for him and he won't enjoy it Sad I'm sure it's more me worrying though. Could you tell your Dh how you feel?

Contradictionincarnate · 25/02/2013 11:14

aw Glenda don't think anything is TMI on here... agreed everyone??
we dtd for the first time sat and I'm sure it felt different to him ...he took ages must be 5 months! my friend has the opposite problem she can't get to the finish line she thinks her g spots have moved! have you tried different positions etc (if the doc can fix I expect it will be a wait) maybe you need to treat it like your first times again and finding a position that's best plus with these things its rarely physical perhaps he subconsciously is worried about hurting you or getting you pregnant again? - just a thought. but I really feel for you it was bad enough for me as it is.
well done tiny vq
and thanks vq and pass for your dm mil stories!
my mum was going on my whole life at how I slept through from 6 wks and they could put me down and I would sleep 12 hours from that time I am sure she is remembering it all with rose tinted spectacles.
In the 1950's sleeping through was 12-5 ... is probably what a lot of adults slept too to be out and down the mine etc and women needing to start cleaning....
apparently its why research into sleeping through is hard to compare!

glendathefedupwitch · 25/02/2013 11:23

Thanks ladies - I've sent him a text - no response yet Hmm

Pikz · 25/02/2013 11:27

VQ prince u little legend! Can I come to the party too!!

BigPigLittlePig · 25/02/2013 11:28

Sleeping through to my mind, would be 10-7. I suspect based on this that F will never achieve it.

Is anyone elses baby still really mucousy? F is so snotty, she doesn't seem to have a cold, but today for example she is blowing snot bubbles out of her nose as she sleeps

Passmethecrisps · 25/02/2013 11:30

Get those boggies sucked out BP!

ShellyBobbs · 25/02/2013 11:41

Snot and bogies here for about 8 weeks now Sad

Hugs Glenda

PetiteRaleuse · 25/02/2013 11:44

Time for the saline drops pig

I'm feeling half human. Got up for 90 minutes. Have come back to bed now. LO has slight temp, have shoved a paracetamol suppository up her bum. She's eating ok but a little less than usual.

ShellyBobbs · 25/02/2013 11:46

I'm spending today putting the middle two's stuff on eBay. Scruffy little gets can't tidy up after themselves even after a week of threats, so they're in for a shock later! Grin

blonderedhead · 25/02/2013 11:55

Oh well done little VP!

No such luck here: slept 10.30 - 1.30 but then awake for two hours again. Then slept 3.30-5am. Quicker feed but then awake again at 6.30. Thankfully DH took him then so I could sleep.

My child seems to be coming up with new and inventive ways to wake himself me up: last week it was Conducting an Imaginary Orchestra, this week Performing Riverdance to an Audience of Thousands. We also have sessions of practising every new noise he's learnt to make and the old classic hitting himself in the face repeatedly. I guess it's better than the snorting and grunting we had before giving up dairy. And I've finally bought him a sleeping bag so the Riverdance routine won't leave him coverless.

contra sympathies re. DM, I haven't heard from mine since last Monday when I finally stood up for myself about all her snide comments insinuating I am starving L with my crap boobs. It is so sad that sometimes Mums seem to take it as criticism if you don't do things the same way they did or don't take their advice. We're doing the best we can and don't need our fragile confidence undermined.

Contradictionincarnate · 25/02/2013 12:02

Woah my msg didn't make sense earlier it did not take my dh 5 months to get to the finish line! though it felt like it it had been 5 months since we last did it.
think dm undermine our confidence as us having baby is a reminder of the end of their fertility and getting old. Sad
maybe I should cut her more slack ... but then why should I think things through when she won't!

Thechick · 25/02/2013 12:14

Hello all.
I hope all is well. H is now 20 weeks. I can't believe that the time has gone so quickly. We really need to look at more nursery's and commit to one. I'm sure September will be here before I know it.
Congrats VQ, you must be very happy. We still have bad sleep, but I'm sure he'll get there when he's ready. My first didn't sleep through I til he was 2 so I have very low expectations for this boy, lol!!
I have a wwyd. H has just grown out of his 0-3 and I bought 3-6. All the things that he's worn seem to fit him very well and he'll prob get a months wear out of them the most. He has a few tops that don't fit at all and I've already put them through the wash. Should I take them back as the label says up to 17lb and there is no way H is that heavy. Getting him weighed today but I'm sure he's 14lb maximum. Or should I just cut my losses and move on. Take it as a learning experience.

BigPigLittlePig · 25/02/2013 12:15

I'm lucky my mum is ace Smile She has nothing but praise for me My MIL however is all too keen to share her advice nonsense with me. The latest relates to the gagging-on-bottle incident at the weekend - she seems to think the gagging is a deliberate tactic to avoid the bottle and I should therefore just ram the bottle in further Hmm

fatima despite LO sleeping 8 hours straight every night bar 1 for the past week I still wake with boobs like Pammy, think they're about 2 weeks behind schedule??

Contradictionincarnate · 25/02/2013 12:24

this morning was first morning I didn't wake with dolly partons... worried its because of the missed feeds over 24hrs while she was away ... I think I'm paranoid thought she was rejecting me earlier ... and that she preferred being with dm Sad Sad hope she eats well from me later!

YellowWellies · 25/02/2013 12:39

BPLP what is it with that generation and seeing babies as scheming adversaries that must be defeated!!!???? Confused Stick to your guns xx

daisychain76 · 25/02/2013 12:44

Hi all, not caught up since Friday. Busy werkend with H?s christening, which was fab. He beamed through it and was only sick ~ all over the pew ~ when we sat back down! He was 5 months yesterday (22 weeks today).

Quick question, l want to start giving him some cooled boiled waters in a rommy tippee lidded cup. l don?t have to sterilise it do l?
