I've hired someone to get all our babies to sleep while we go get sloshed in the corner

E is a giant too Engels, he's in 18-24 or 2-3 yrs clothes. He's looked like a toddler for ages my friends with boys the same age all joke that he's a teenager already. Haven't weighed him for ages though will try this morning.

Cheshire and Pen how are you both feeling? Morning sickness? Is it different this time round? And have you decided if you're going to find out what you're having this time?

A is 12kg, apparently 75th percentile for his age. He's not as chubby as he was when he was younger, but not small.

LP at 16 weeks I currently feel fab Less stamina than last time though, and I can tell already that my fitness - which was really good last time - may be a problem this time as I wasn't as fit going in. And I can't wait to find out - only 4 more weeks!

Eva is around 2 stone. Maybe a bit more. She wears 18-24months, but either the dryer as shrunk everything, or she's getting too big for them. Isobel is only just into 2-3 and there is 15 months between them! They will just share clothes i think, in a bit. Easy for me anyway- won't have to sort them into 2 piles.

Her shoes are 4 and 1/2. Isobel is a 5.

I am probably in all likihood moving in 2/3 weeks and i haven't started packing. In fact it only occurred to me yesterday, that perhaps i ought to be!

Help. I don't know where to start. And i don't know why, cos i've moved 3 times in the last 5 years. I think it's cos i've never had a plan or a system (i'm usual still packing things as the van is being loaded and it's a 12 hour day!) and i don't think i can be like that this time. Anyone really organised and systematic? or knows of a check list type website?

No idea what P weighs but she is about 76cm at last measure and she got some new shoes at Easter which were size 3.5 and then spent ages going round John Lewis shouting "shoe shoe" and bending over and pointing at them - unfortunately they are bright pink so there is no getting away from them!

Sassy the company we used to move last time sent loads of flat pack boxes and tape etc in advance.

Odd day today, forgot to go to my GP appointment to get Midwife appointment even though it's been booked for 2 weeks, as was too busy watching The Great British Sewing Bee (old lady that I am), rang receptionist apologising profusely who had no appointments for 2 weeks until I started crying - which was all a bit random, then she rang me back with an appointment for 10.30am, lovely lady. Although she now probably thinks I am mad! Then 2 gardeners I had arranged to come yesterday and today haven't turned up :( lazy buggers.

Need to go and read back to seriously catch up.

cheshire Awh. Poor you. I've done it myself- waited in all day once for an appointment at 3pm and then promptly forgot all about it from about an hour to go. Glad they took pity on you.

Ha, to the removal company. We have NOOOOO money! We are going to live in a lovely big, 4 bed detached house with a massive garden and we will be eating value beans and value bread for the next 10 years! And shopping on ebay for 2nd hand clothes.

(Reminds me of friend i used to have who bought a flashy car on finance years ago and didn't have enough money to put petrol in it. That will be us. What's the saying- fur coat no knickers. lol)

I'm afraid it will just be me and dp and probably my brother, with a van hire.

Sassy I hate moving house, so have no constructive advice except when packing I always start with kitchen things I don't use as it's easy

Sassy, could you start with listing what you will need in the next three weeks and then see where you are? Christmas decs could be packed!

I'm feeling quite low just now. Hating being back at work after the Easter holidays and leaving Lizzie at nursery has been so hard this week. Feel like I'm being a crap mum and a crap teacher because I just want to leave work and pick her up. And I'm so tired that I'm not doing the work I bring home every night because I'm just going to bed. I'm up later tonight but have spent too long on house websites when I should really have been trying to start my reports. But we also need a new house! Argh, I'm doing nothing properly!!!!!

Moan over. I believe the forecast for the weekend is good, what are we all up to?

Aww mrsh . Hope your feeling better soon. It's almost like there isn't enough hrs in the day for everything. Just think, not long till the summer holidays and all the time you will have with L. Any luck on the house front? I tend just to browse every now and then but there is nothing! What area are you looking?

I done 2 nightshifts in a row (wed, thur) and back tonight. I'm tired as I struggle to sleep through the day to make up for it. Nice sunny day today so want to make the most of it with S.

Congrats chesh hope all is well.
It's taken me ages to catch up, and now I've forgot what I wanted to say to people!!
It's been like a plague zone here, everyone has had d&v and I've had a hideous cold for the last 2 weeks. I've not been at all well and ended up at the Gp with dizziness and faint feelings, and found out I'm pregnant! Only about 4 weeks so that put us in line for a Xmas baby. Certainly explains why I'm feeling so grotty :)

N is great - 20lb and just about to go into 12-18mo clothes. He doesn't have a huge array of words but does know quite a few animal noises! He also loves to sing along to his favourite songs in his own way. He's also still in a sleeping bag. He tends to be all over the place in his sleep and half the time is the wrong way in his cot by morning!! Think wel'll stick with it for a while longer.

Mrs that's so hard, feeling torn and like you're not able to give yourself to anything well. I felt like that my first couple of months back at work as well, before I found my stride. Hopefully you do too.

Sassy I usually pick a room and pack everything I can the before moving on - normally start with the living room because there's a lot of stuff there we don't need everyday, books, DVDs etc.

mrs I remember the feeling well. It makes you think you are really rubbish at everything, because you can't give your all to anything. When in reality, you're probably being a super human -juggling so many things. Big hugs. Hope you feel more upbeat soon.

Hehe, laughing at the help to pack. We're not the most organised on this thread are we.

sassy with packing I'd make a start in the kitchen. I'm always stunned at the amount of stuff crap we keep there. Pack everything bar one cup, bowl and plate for everyone, a couple of pans, a baking tray and lasagne type dish. That way you have enough to cook basic stuff for a couple of weeks (which is all you'll have time for with all the packing!). Then sort the loft/garage as the stuff there isn't likely to be needed. Then books/CDs/DVDs. Yes, I have mode house many times (can you tell!) best advice is write the contents on the box so when you get to the new house you can decide wether to unpack it immediately or stick it in the loft and ignore!!! Good luck.

mrsH I know that feeling well and I've been back to work since last June. Is L enjoying nursery ? It helps me to know that N loves his and has a great time while I'm at work feeling miserable. I've threatened to stay there instead of going to work before - they do so much fun stuff :) I hope it gets easier for you - just look forward to the holidays

Seems like theres been lots of lurgy, but now that the weather is improving it should help...fingers crossed, anyway.

Sassy congrats and good luck. I can't remember any tips, other than I knicked procured some parcel tape, stickers and markers from work to mark boxes up. Didn't work in the end as the house we moved into was still being moved out of so the removal men were only able to dump thinks in the front room. So much for my sticker plan!

Seb is chattering away still but there are not too many recognisable words. He can say (and point to) nose, ears etc plus mama, dada, and a few other ones that I can't remember but he knows more than he can say. He knows where his shoes and socks go and if you ask him for his coat, shoes or certain toys he'll go and get them.

I know which words I forgot (how could I?) His favourite things at the moment are cars and trucks. Big cars (as in real ones) used to be called 'Carbroombroom' but are now 'beepbeep', which is his current favourite word, along with 'neenaw' (which is says to his truck, not his fire engine!!).

He also says 'Beebaw" a lot, Dh and I hoping he's not a Bieber fan already, lol!

Sassy, I'm not good with moving. I've only moved house once (leaving my parents) and it took me 3 months to actually move in . I got my keys in June but then spent a few months decorating etc. Agree with who said about listing what's in each box. Does the house need a lot if work or is it 'walk in' condition? I wish you the best of luck

Sassy Good luck! Some days I think I'd like to move house one day, we may even be able to afford to one day. But then I think about packing and I decided we're staying here even though it's not the best area.

S weighs about 2 stone, size 5 feet (although we should probably get him measured again) and in 18-24m clothes. At this age DD was in size 3 feet and just moving into 12-18m clothes. He's going to be a big lad. DH & I are both 5'5". My brother is 6' though.

He LOVES fruit, both kids do, and he's pretty good with veg.
We are on first name terms with the people who run the veg shop. We get lots of freebies too :) A Dragon fruit this weekend.
DD will only eat peas and sweetcorn now... which she only gets at grandparents houses as the sight of either makes DH ill.
S's absolute favourite is savoy cabbage. He'll usually eat his then start demanding some from our plates.

Tally Seb sounds about the same as S speech wise, loads of chatter, singing, I love how his intonation changes when he's "reading" a book. But very few recognisable words. He says Mama for practically everything. (Mummy, Daddy, Pick me up, Give me fruit, I've changed TV channel again - fix it, etc etc.) He can say Dada, something vaguely like DD's name, and 'at (cat). He'll also sing Peppa Pig "aaaaaah i, aaaaah i"

He does the pointing at his nose, ears, mouth, we're working on him pointing out mine (preferably without poking my eyes out in the process) and he's getting better at fetching things when asked.

He's great at communicating though. DH was very impressed today. They were both in the kitchen and S got a bowl of of the cupboard, closed the door put the bowl on the table, got a spoon off the table, put it in the bowl, then pointed to to the cupboard with the cereal in. "Uh" :)

I get slightly obsessed with the speech thing, I'm missing that part of my job and it's all so interesting!

In other news I'm hoping we've had a breakthrough on the sleep thing. I have now had 4 (almost) full nights sleep. He's done 8-6, 10:30-8 (wouldn't settle then we had to wake him) 12:30-6, then slept on my chest on the sofa till 8. Last night was the best. 8-12 then 12:15-8:20. He's gone down again at 8 tonight, he's been outside loads and we've not let him nap. If he is napping then we're keeping it to 45 minutes max.

Annie, that sounds great. How are you feeling now?

I ment to say that in last post, I've noticed S is knackered at night now if she's been outside most of the day. I've been doing nights this wk so she's practically lived at my mums with full access to the garden so plenty of fresh air! She got lots of things to keep her busy so if she's out, she's constantly on the move. She was laying on the couch at 6.30pm last night with her teddy struggling to keep her eyes open! More of this nice weather please

Annie Seb's a huge fruit and veg fan too. His favourite at the moment is satsumas and he will practically pull my arm off to get to a bit, even before I've finished peeling it . He eats all his veg at dinner first and then demands some off our plate, especially carrots.

He says 'nana' for something he wants and 'baba' for something he likes. Don't know where he got those from.

I'm feeling okay at the moment thanks Duck I'm taking the buscopan regularly in the hope I won't need the pain killers. I took 2 painkillers the other night before bed as the pain was coming on.
I've learnt a lesson.
Start with paracetamol, take 1 tramadol and only take a 2nd if it doesn't work. I couldn't think straight until lunchtime the next day! :)

We're off to Devon on Saturday for a week. I really shouldn't be eating cream teas they're almost certain to cause me problems... but how can I go to Devon and not have cream tea?

Tally same here with oranges, we peel them in secret. We used to have to hide them from DD or she'd just demand "ODGE ODGE ODGE" until she'd eaten them all. I remember in the supermarket once she was screaming for them so DH gave her them in the plastic string bag thinking she wouldn't be able to get them out...

About the only thing S doesn't like is dairy products. He won't have milk (unless he gets the dregs of DD's milkshakes) he'll only eat eggs if they're scrambled and he's very picky with cheeses.

annie laughing at the plastic string bag. Isobel would just bite straight into it- peel and all. I let her hold the peppers the other day (the 3 in a plastic wrapper and when i looked she had took a bite through the plastic.

Mine all love fruit. They did eat veg when they were littler, but we are in the fussy eating stage. I tend to cook loads of veg in my spag bol and then whizz it up in the blender.

Just to start off, and not make anyone panic i will say that the twins were not great talkers at 1st. Can remember their 2yr check up and they were still on 1 word talking. (and not much at that)

But eva is the complete opposite and can say 3 word sentences! [shocked] chloe wasn't a talker either, so i am quite impressed with her. She says 'i'll get it' if she drops something, and 'i want juice' She can count to 7 too. and if jacob counts from 5 to 1, she says blast off after he gets to 1.

words she knows, mummy, daddy, nana, jacob, chloe, juice, banana, book, twinkle star, incy spider, biscuit, popcorn, milkies, downstairs, mickey mouse, Can't think of anymore.

She's obsessed with phones, laptops etc, and she loves dancing. I can't decide if she's going to be an IT specialist or a dancer! We've decided isobel will be a vet (she has no fear of animals. AT. All.) and jacob is going to be an engineer or a scientist. as he loves to fix things/ take things apart/ look at the mechanics.

Getting boxes tonight from the local greengrocer. He's saving them for me. Going to do the writing on the box thing and putting them in the right rooms when we get there. (all novel to me) Thanks for all the suggestions.

Just got her dressed and when i put her jumper on her thumb was stuck in her sleeve. She said 'stuck' 'stuck' so i got it out and she said 'thank you' That's 2 new ones on me.

She says 'see you soon' and wet wipes (in a proper wigan accent) too. Just remembered them.

But obviously not every word is fully formed. I am the intrepretator for a lot of it, as outsiders or people who don't spend as much time as her won't get it all. iyswim. Dp just looks at me when she is jabbering away.
