donna Loved my first Pajero (LWB, 2.5 litre), but that died after 6 months as the head gasket went. Common fault with the 2.5 litre, so second time around I went for the 2.8 litre but made the mistake of buying it from Wetherby 4 x 4 dodgy thieving gits. I traded in my Suzuki Vitara and paid an extra £1500 on top. Long story short- coming back from uni a week later I experienced a sudden loss of power and drove the remaining 15 miles down the A1 home at 10 miles an hour. The garage took it in straight away to look at it and advised me to return it. Engine had been steam-cleaned, head gasket was going, it was spitting oil and water out of the exhaust and the gear box had emptied itself of fluid. Fought with Wetherby 4 x 4 until they gave in and got refunded £2200. They had started stripping the Vitara for parts so I refused to take it back. Had only paid £500 for the Vitara 18 months before, so was pleased with that. I have been unlucky with Pajeros which makes me sad cos I love them :(

eliza thank you for the gaviscon, it arrived today. Thank you for thinking of me when you've got so much going on! Before you agree to E being admitted, would it help you to have a full plan from your paediatrician? So you would know exactly what tests were to be done, and you could chase things up to make sure you aren't stuck there any longer than necessary. Also, if you want to, it's so easy to learn how to tube feed. You could do it in a couple of days, if it turns out to be something that needs to continue for a while.

Ahh I love the sunshine, it makes everything seem so much better. Had a lovely walk and sat on a bench in the sunshine with DS looking at all the children playing on the park. I can't wait until summer!

ValiumQueen · 19/02/2013 16:54

Have spent the day sorting out DSs clothes - the ones that are too small, and the ones that are too big. I love charity shops and have lots of stuff for up to 4, and a few bigger bits. I have also bought clarkes shoes when I have seen them. I sorted them out and have every size and half size from 3 to 7 1/2, with no duplicates, and they are all barely worn. He will still get the odd new pair. I know how to have a fun day! DS enjoyed looking at everything!

PetiteRaleuse · 19/02/2013 17:18

Curry tonight. I am sooooo hungry. Is it me going through a growth spurt round my middle I am so hungry and tired at the moment.

BigPigLittlePig · 19/02/2013 18:28

It is only laziness that stops me getting up during night feeds to eat, I'm permanently hungry, eating more than 6ft 2 dh at the moment Blush

ChunkyChicken · 19/02/2013 18:48

DS has had his grumpy socks on all day (relatively, for him), think it was wind. And has now fallen asleep. Not sure tonight is going to be a good one... Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 19/02/2013 18:48

Got to love dh's dyslexia. Asked if he could put the fifth series of greys anatomy on for me. Am thinking to myself, I've seen all this before....he double checks the dvd case to find it is in fact the first series Grin Numpty.

FatimaLovesBread · 19/02/2013 19:08

Wow I admire your forward planning VQ! Just wondering, what width size have you bought the Clarks shoes in?

M is in her pjs helping DH cook while I'm locked in the bathroom with some music, soaking in a purple lush bath Smile

Thanks for your kind words, I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow. Wonder if it's the 12week growth spurt as M is grouchy and she woke every couple of hours last night

YellowWellies · 19/02/2013 19:23

Our offer on the house I showed you ladies has been accepted! Am so F*CKING CHUFFED Grin a glass of wine will be drunk once my wee bantam finishes his bedtime feed and falls off his perch. Come on Jonas - Mummy wants to be a lush!!!! Fingers crossed all goes well with the mortgage. Am already planning where to put furniture and what colours to paint....... Ahead of myself much? Angry

Also, the house we offered on last week who rejected our 98% offer - came back to us asking if the offer was still on the table - errrr no ta we've found a house we love much more Grin karma eh?

Mercury retrograde begins later this week (am sad astrology nerd - yep I know this clashes with my scientific background!) so want to get the paperwork sorted asap. Exciting times!!!!

Sorry for the me, me, me post!

Congratulations YW! Wine

FatimaLovesBread · 19/02/2013 20:29

Yay YW

I think I may have to kill DH, he never bloody listens. Just had tea, spag Bol and garlic bread. While he was dishing up I opened a carton of exotic juice and poured myself a glass then put the carton in the fridge, in the fridge there was a carton of Orange juice which had been there opened and nearly empty for a couple of weeks. So thinking that'll need throwing I put it on the table to pour down the sink.
M started screaming during dinner, tired and hungry, so I rush my food and take her up to bed to feed and put down. DH just came up to check on us, so I asked if he'd top up my glass of EXOTIC juice from THE CARTON IN THE FRIDGE and bring it me up. Just tasted it and its bloody gone off orange juice Angry come downstairs askin where he'd got the carton from thinking I'd put the wrong one back in the fridge and he says "on the table"!!! Why?! When I said fridge and exotic not orange! Grrr

And then come in to the living room and he's just finishing off the garlic baguette, he's eaten it all and not saved me any! I commented and he's just offered me the hard end bit he's eating which he knows I don't like

Bloody hell, that bath was meant to relax me Grin

TheTiger · 19/02/2013 20:31

Yay YW congratulations

Attention all mummies of babies on gaviscon - its back in stock at my chemist so hopefully it is everywhere! Phew, so relieved. Those little sachets of magic powder!

ChunkyChicken · 19/02/2013 20:33

It's taken me 8yrs of living together to not quite train those sort of habits out of DH fati ma. It's a long slog just hope its worth it!!

Sophiathecheesefairy · 19/02/2013 20:35

Am so pleased for you yw, you have turned that around really quickly. [impressed emoticon]

Discussion Topic

Have you heard all the talk about not drying your clothes indoors because it encourages something scientific that is probably a bit damp and sporey and is no good for our breathing?

I, probably like loads of you, have toms of washing, inparticulary baby gros and vest and muslins tha I am washing all the time. I don't liketo use the tumble dryer too much because it wrecks stuff and is expensive so I use rads and an aired and I run round all day tuning things over and swapping things round like a lunatic. Obviously not to the expense of giving the baby attention. Ahem Hmm

Obviously the breathing concern is of concern with a newborn and a toddler who seem to be quite respiratorily sensitive. But I can't dry stuff outside at the mo.

When I have heard it discussed on news programmes the "expert" has said we should get back rousing our airing cupboard properly.

I say, how do you use your airing cupboard properly? Do you just stick a whole load of wet washing I it?

Anyway that is my question. Someone tell me how to get round this. (And why people in NI call it a hot press?)

Sophiathecheesefairy · 19/02/2013 20:39

Just to clarify I am using my airing cupboard, not rousing it.

I don't have toms of washing I have tons of washing.

In other news I told DH about my now 10 day period and he said I was broken. Thank you. Just what I needed. Confused

PetiteRaleuse · 19/02/2013 20:43

I use the tumble dryer Sophia because I'm lazy most of the time. If using the airer thing I do so in the garage or in the spare room. The tumble dryer is in the garage too, as are lots of things. No space for the cars.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/02/2013 20:44

I don't have an
Airing cupboard. Have never understood how something can be aired in a cupboard anyway.

Contradictionincarnate · 19/02/2013 20:46

Evening 'ol!
Just posted in feed the world under bf and bottles to get some advice would appreciate anyone's imput if you can help me!?

FatimaLovesBread · 19/02/2013 20:47

Sophia drying your clothes in the house should be fine as long as you don't allow the moisture to build up. So ventilate, have the room warm rather than cold so the water doesn't condensate on the walls and if there is any moisture on the walls then dry it off. You could always get a dehumidifier.
It's the water from the wet clothes condensating on surfaces that encourages mould growth. That's why bathrooms tend to get mouldy

BigPigLittlePig · 19/02/2013 20:47

My airing cupboard is full of hot water tank. I could possibly dry a few pairs of pants in there. I don't have a tumble dryer. It has hardly stopped raining this year. I suggest the scientists come round and find a sensible solution!

Seriously though, there is some mould around the windows in our house which is fun to scrub off with a toothbrush due to condensation - other than opening the windows on sunny days, I don't know what you can do Confused
