Thank you so much for all the responses. Bought some Dentinox colic drops while I was out this morning as I'm sure the Infacol didn't agree with her last week. We will also try lifting one end of the Moses basket for tonight and see how we go. She's still asleep in her car seat catching up on her lost hours last night I think.

Also bought some ice cream for me. Is it wrong to have it before lunch?!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 11:54

There's never a wrong time for ice cream. Before lunch is more than acceptable.

ValiumQueen · 07/02/2013 11:55

Before breakfast would not be right, but before lunch is to be encouraged.

FatimaLovesBread · 07/02/2013 11:59

When we went to Cence we had Gelato for breakfast Grin

misslaughalot · 07/02/2013 12:05

I luffs you all and your sensible opinions Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 12:38

Surely it depends on the flavour VQ

I would argue that something like chocolate ice cream shouldn't be eaten before breakfast, but something a bit more gross savoury like pistachio or coffee would be good pre breakfast food.

FatimaLovesBread · 07/02/2013 12:45

Cence??! What the fuck, that should say Venice

misslaughalot · 07/02/2013 12:50

It's Millionaire's shortcake ice cream, and it's still in the freezer as I'm having my lunch first like a good girl won't mention the creme egg and crisps I had at 11am

BigPigLittlePig · 07/02/2013 13:13

Jabs in an hour, am a bit nervous shitting my pants

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 13:17

They'll be worse for you than for piglet Bigpig

ValiumQueen · 07/02/2013 13:22

BP remember why you are allowing the jabs - to protect your little one from illness and possible death. Be grateful we have access to these jabs, and for free. Baby will soon forget anyway. You are being a very kind good mother allowing this brief moment of discomfort, and will be there to comfort after Thanks

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/02/2013 13:26

Ooo I've now got a craving for ice cream. Luckily once DD1 comes out of tumble tots I'm off to tescos. Will add some ice cream to the shopping list Smile millionaires shortcake sounds yummy!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 13:34

I've got a temperature. It's only a cold I think so shouldn't whine but there is something so energy sapping about looking after children when you're not feeling your best. Plus of course I am worried about passing it on.

LO's physio popped in this morning so I could settle his bill and LO had a bit of a coughing fit and he said that he has a feeling I'll be seeing him again soon. Even used the B word. Bronchiolitis that is. Not bastard, though he was a bastard for ising the B word. I figure that not every sniffle and cough that comes into the house can be RSV and even if it were not every RSV can turn into bronchiolitis and pneumonia. Can they? And LO is a good month older than last time. And DD1 is unlikely to get another bout of pneumonia isn't she?!

Agh he has made me worry. I never used to worry about sniffles, have always been really relaxed about illness. But since what happened at Christmas it's always at the bak of my mind.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 13:36

Millionaire's shortcake flavoured ice cream is not a pre breakfast ice cream. Sounds lovely. In spring I'll be making regular trips to Trier in Germany - they have some great ice cream bars. Yum

ValiumQueen · 07/02/2013 13:50

PR my GP said once they have bronchiolitis, they will get every germ going. He said not to go looking for it, but to be prepared for it, and for the first two years of life. He is a jolly one. DS has really struggled, indeed is still struggling with this germ.

I am drinking far too much coffee just to stay awake. Last night I really worried about my ability to care for DS due to my tiredness. I am dreading tomorrow with DD2 as well, then the weekend, then all three on Monday due to a fecking training day at school. Of course the coffee is probably making DS more restless.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 14:07

Training day in term time? Wtf? They used to tack them onto the ends of holidays didn't they?

My Dr was a little more reassuring than that VQ, but did say that there are so many strains of RSV that they can get bronchiolitis several times in one season.

Both children will probably be full time home with me for a year and a half from March, so next year we should be exposed to fewer bugs. Will hopefully help their little lungs recover before DD1 starts school.

horseylady · 07/02/2013 14:15

pr I was told the same as vq sorry.

I also think after a bout of pneumonia you are more susceptable due to previous damage. However plenty of people only ever have one episode. Think positive, spring is very close.

Right will I be ok getting a White sheet putting ds on it and taking his passport photo from that?!

On the local radio this morning they were talking about the Stafford hospital. I just can't believe some of the things they found?! Taping dummies to babies mouths. Patients unable to get water or reach food? How could anyone find that remotely acceptable? Regardless of being understaffed? Jesus I've done 13 hour days to make sure our patients get onto treatment or can have treatment. Patients first. Every bloody time. Patients first.

MissMummy1 · 07/02/2013 14:18

Donaghadee/Bangor stunt. Were going to come over this month but decided to wait until weather and finances improves.

I'm feeling a bit very crap today. Not really sure what to do. 'D'P came home from work this morning in an awful mood. I asked him to hold M while I jumped in the shower as she had vommed in my hair and he told me to pack my bags and leave Shock . I phoned his mum to talk some sense into him (something I told myself I would never doBlush ) and he admitted he was just sounding off and he didnt mean it. He's now asleep and acting like nothing happened. I'm devastated that he doesnt want tilly and me anymore Sad Sad Sad . We've worked so hard the past 18months to sort out our issues after our relationship fell apart I really thought we were solid. This morning has just rocked all of that and filled me with doubt again. Sad Sorry I'm just feeling a bit miserable about it all. Sad

On a more positive note the m&p luna i bought tills is immaculate. A massive bargain, I had planned to buy a new lightweight pushchair as well but dont think I need to now! Smile

PurplePidjin · 07/02/2013 14:19

VQ R's colic all but cleared up when I ditched caffeine. It's bloody hard going without my chemical prop but worth it for the lack of screaming all afternoon. His sleep has gradually improved too - 8-2:30 + 4-6:45 last night after a couple of weeks of being raring to go at 4:30. He even had a 3 hour nap in the sling didn't dare try and get him out this morning Shock I'm a new woman - with yummy curry for dinner tonight and a pile of nappies stuffed and ready :o

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 14:40

MM1 it sounds like he is being a twat. Please come and vent on here any time, and make sure he gets as good as he gives. Hope he comes to his senses soon.

Pidj glad to hear you sounding a little more positive

Horsey it doesn't mean that every sniffle will turn into bronchiolitis and/or pneumonia though does it

horseylady · 07/02/2013 14:45

mm was he tired? Or just grumpy? What (out of interest) is your age difference? I hope you get it sorted. I still can't believe how many of you are having 'd' p issues!!!

horseylady · 07/02/2013 14:47

pr no of course not!! If it helps ds fought his latest cold off well!! I was really worrying about the 'b' word :( and it's nearly spring!!! They WILL be ok and be much older and stronger next winter!!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 14:57

Well that's what I thought for DD1. Until this autumn she had had one cold. Tehn she got a cold or two in autumn. And even just before Xmas I took her to the Dr and she said oh no, she's almost two, she's strong and healthy, this cold won't turn into bronchiolitis. A week later she had both bronchiolitis and pneumonia :(

I don't know how my healthy strong 98 centile little girl got so ill so quickly. And am terrified of it happening again. And as LO is so much more smaller, and obviously more fragile having been exposed to so much so early in her little life I am even more worried for her.

That said she was ill earlier this week and I didn't panic and she seems to be back to normal already. I just don't want to become neurotic.

horseylady · 07/02/2013 15:05

that was unlucky. The strongest people can get ill. It's just how it happens. Don't panic about it. Keep trying to think positively but keep an eye on them.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/02/2013 15:08

Yeah plus it was over a month ago I really need to stop stressing over it. She lost two kg that week but she has already put it back on and then some :)
