at all you sleeping through-ers! Though on behalf of our lovely and sadly maligned group, obv.

Blocked nose/cough muddying the waters a bit I should think but average night is feeds at 11, 2, 4, 5.30. Then up around 7. J more willing to stay in cot now thank goodness but it's slow progress.

Gotta go again to put DD1 to bed but just to say I read all posts (they keep me sane) and am sorry to be a lurkey turkey and not manage to post more than once a thread on average! Will work on it!

georgee · 13/01/2013 19:42

... and much respect to you Sophia. Feel in mood myself but fanjo still says 'No Way!'

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/01/2013 19:48

Ooo lost my post which said:

bplp don't worry they all get there eventually when their little tummies get big rough to fill up with the right amount of milk. Thanks in the meantime we are here for you to moan at.

I also was thinking that to actually start a thread called the shite things people say on mumsnet is a bit mean in itself as it is setup to make people look stupid and feel small.

Really of door my shower now.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/01/2013 19:51

Big enough bplp

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 19:57

Epic fail on the formula front. DS utterly distraught and at risk of choking, so yet again in bed being mauled, but this time at least he looks grateful. In some ways I am pleased as it shows he is happy with the service he gets from me.

DH thinks we need to introduce it at another time. He suggested after morning nap. No fucking use to me for sleep then. I suggested a night feed but DH will not as he needs his sleep. Grr!

I do not want my supply to go off. I was hoping a bottle at this time would stop the four hour cluster feeding and give me a bit of sleep.

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 20:02

And DH says I am too quick to stick a boob in his gob whenever he stirs at night. I should let him cry it out. I said to him how would he know as he is asleep? He says oh I see more than you think! While snoring. Yeah right. Fucking help then while I am sobbing in the dark.

I am hoping to fool boy with a cherry dummy tonight when he is just looking for comfort. Not sure I stand a hope in hell, but I may end up sucking on it myself.

MissMummy1 · 13/01/2013 20:08

We dtd this morning Smile . After several long months I'm pleased to report everything still works as it should! Grin BUT I hate condoms!! Don't want to go down the hormone route again (I fell pregnant on the pill anywayBlush ) and don't want anything that will make me bleed even heavier whilst on periods. I'm also now thinking I might want another (watching M grow so fast is amazing and heartbreaking all at once dont tell dh though! Grin ). So ladies, what contraceptive would you advise? We're stuck on condoms aren't we? Confused

BigPigLittlePig · 13/01/2013 20:08

We can't win sometimes vq - you feed them so they don't scream the place down and wake dp up, but then get told you're too quick to pop a boob out. Gah!

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 13/01/2013 20:11

We're not sleeping through here grorgee, our night feeds are similar to yours. B feeds three hourly day and night.

I'd defo try again after the morning nap VQ, then move it to the evening when he's used to it. I always feed at night when B wakes but have started using a dummy to make her last until the first morning feed if she wakes too early. I can normally get another hours sleep if she wakes at 6am by conning her with the dummy. You have to get it in quick though before they properly wake up!

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 20:13

Exactly BP I would have two kids and DH looking at me in bemusement if I let him cry.

Just tried the dummy. He looked at me as if to say I'm not that fucking stupid! Oh well.

Well done MM I too hate condoms. Have you tried a femidom? They are fun! Or a good old cap?

ChunkyChicken · 13/01/2013 20:13

I feel for you VQ. It's hard feeling like its all down to you. Was discussing this with DH yesterday - even if we went to formula, 9/10 I'd be giving it & having to do the washing/prep etc too. However, it would be nice to think a f bottle is option if you want to have a wee or shower in peace once in a while some 'me' time.

Not sleeping through here, but usually only 1 feed between about 11/12pm (dream feed territory) to 6-8am so I get 2 decent ish blocks of sleep. If I went to bed at 9pm ish when he does, I'd get more, but I like the parent only time we have then. Catch 22. Just glad he's going 3hrs between feeds during the day now too.

Good luck for tonight VQ.

Got to dash. Have a v v over tired DD that daddy is trying to put to bed & struggling.

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 20:14

Up the arse is very effective too.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/01/2013 20:15

Ewwww vq not for me.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 13/01/2013 20:16

Rhythm method MM? Hmm

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 20:16

Thank you ladies x

MissMummy1 · 13/01/2013 20:20

hahaha vq I was just about to post i'll experiment before reading your second post! maybe not... never user femidoms before, willing to give it a bash. Grin

I'm far too irregular for the rhythm method Sad

BigPigLittlePig · 13/01/2013 20:23

MM I'm worried I'm going to be stuck with condoms when I pluck up the courage, as no sign of a period yet so can't go back on the pill...haven't raised this with dh yet. Can imagine the response I'll get but am not getting caught pregnant the first time we dtd like his sister did

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 20:26

Femidoms are fun. Tried them with DH after I had DD2 as I did not want to have the pill. Never laughed so much, and it (ahem) tickles places that would otherwise not get tickled. Yes, good memories...

horseylady · 13/01/2013 20:50

Lol I only read this thread and in the tack room with any frequency. I have occasionally skim read other threads but tbh stopped as I was getting fed up with folks berating anyone for thinking of introducing a routine (even if the child was starting school that week) etc. At some point we are all in some sort of routine and have to sleep in our own bed. However I read the thread we were mentioned on and found most of it amusing bitchiness. I really laughed at this and thought actually some people do come across like this

when you think about it life as a typical MNetter is very hard.

You get up at 5am (after co-sleeping with your children all of whom you are still breastfeeding) to make the packed lunches and do 3 hours of cleaning.

Then you walk the 16 miles or whatever it is to your kids school.

then you come back and do another 4 hours of cleaning

Then you go to the supermarket for the weekly shop where you have a budget of £4.20 to feed everyone including enough to buy gammon which you will cook in coke.

When your kids get home from school you all sit around shivering in your house with no telly, no games consols and no heating on.

Your husband then gets in from his 18 hour shift and must immediately do 4 hours of housework

I also liked the fact that apparently a chicken can last some families a week. :)

Titsalinabumsquash · 13/01/2013 20:51

On the contraceptive front, I'll be having a Marina Coil fitted ASAP, I can't use any other long term things, cannot remember pills or love nor money and condoms although ok for temporary solution, DP and I generally think they're gash. Grin recalls the glow in the dark condom/ DP signing starwars songs fiasco anyway, yes Merina worked well for me In the past, I had vicious periods and pmt, I had crippling endometriosis and it helped with all of it. Smile

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 13/01/2013 20:53

I can't believe someone was bitching about us in another thread?! How mean Confused some people on here can be really spiteful, bet she's just jealous!

Love the thread title suggestions VQ and Sophia!

I have the black and white star print mei tai sling off eBay detective. It's really well made and v nice Smile

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 13/01/2013 20:54

Think I'm going to have to give in and DTD tonight, DP was moaning today that it's been 6 months since he last had any action! Blush doesn't seem that long to me!

kirrinIsland · 13/01/2013 20:55

I've got one of those star wraps! It's fabulous - and we get compliments on it all the time.

Excuse my ignorance, but I didn't know femidoms still existed! I thought they were one of those things that arrived to great fanfare, flopped miserably and quietly vanished from the shelves? Always an education on here Grin
I have no idea what contraception to go on now. Can't do the pill again cos I'll never remember to take it.

Evilwater · 13/01/2013 20:56

Back home, and it feels good. DP changed LO nappy!

Can the babies, get angry for leaving the house. As soon as I knew I was coming home LO stopped being perfect, and was him self.

Evil

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 13/01/2013 20:56
