Some people are just twats, and can't keep their nose out of something that isn't even their business! For what its worth, some babies do sleep through 8-10 hours at 3 months. It isn't anything impossible to hope for fgs! We have been getting quite a few 6-7 hour stretches now. He better fucking sleep at least 10-6. by the time I go back to work because otherwise I will actually die, and DP will find himself on the sofa, with the baby in the cot next to him and a fucking bomb under his ear.

Hi ladies, I'm still here. Always reading but rarely posting. Not sure what my word allowance is though?!

Babylaughalot has decided naps in the daytime are for wimps. Ewan doesn't work for her at all, any time of day and night. I think it's really not loud enough for her because my hairdryer and the vacuum do a great job of calming her and getting her off to sleep. We got her a swinging chair this week, and she did get off to sleep in that yesterday afternoon. Any other tips for encouraging daytime naps?

Damn, had loads more to say and can't remember any of it now...bugger.

TheDetective · 13/01/2013 18:15

Swaddled in the swing without fastening them in with a dummy worked great for me yesterday. I meant to try it again today. But forgot. Will try it when he next shows tired signs. He has just woke up now.

He hates being fastened in to the swing, so for now, I leave it unfastened, but stay by his side.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/01/2013 18:25

Detective that sounds like what happens in our house - little pig has a rocking bouncer, which is quite wide. I'll put her in it not fastened and she doesn't move a muscle. When she's sound asleep I sometimes pop to the kitchen for a biscuit or two or three drink and when I return she has rotated a full 90 degrees but is still asleep. Strange.

Hi all, trying to catch up after mad week. BPLP my hv told me you wean to actual age not corrected (so would be at 6 months). I am going to try for full BLW this time as have got a good book to help and feel it might be a gentler approach with a premmie. l do want to do a baby first aid course first forr peace of mind, tho my book reckons its usually gaggging nnot choking.

Evil hope things improve.

kissy hope your LO ok ~ l find a bath with bicarb of soda in really helps

Got my ebay mei tai this week. and love it! I am a sucker for nice fabrics.

Oh and leading my Church youth grroup was fab.

Got my mind on work at the moment ~ go back to 2 part time jobs and full time phd in Feb. l know l?m lucky to work from home mostly, but it was hard enough juggling with 2 dcs. Must win the lottery soon....

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 13/01/2013 18:31

She got on ok stunt, she wouldn't take an Avent bottle so I tried her with NUK. The teats are more nipple shaped and she was able to latch on like she was breastfeeding. Avent teats are too small so she just cried and got frustrated.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 13/01/2013 18:33

Can't believe some cow was slagging us off detective, what forum was it in?

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 13/01/2013 18:36

I treat every nap like it's nighttime misslaughs, dark, Swaddle and dummy. She will sleep in her chair swaddled as well.

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 18:41

Next thread should be called "we can call it what the fuck we want bitch!" Ok stunt ?

TheDetective · 13/01/2013 18:41

I can't remember TooMany but the thread title is in my post - you can search it. But no point - can't reply!! GRR!

BPLP He likes to sleep at a funny angle in his, sort of side on almost! Little monkeys!

Daisy Could you link me to who you bought yours off? My mind boggles when it comes to eBay sometimes!! I saw one with colourful polkadots, and one with stars on, but don't know if they will be any good?! I prefer personal recommendations!

Off to make dinner... yuuuum :) Roast potatoes, my favourite! Grin

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 18:41

Punctuation corrected, obviously! Blush

Catbag · 13/01/2013 18:45

Just for the record and just in case some twatty infiltrator is reading our extremely witty and sagacious posts, my first three children were sleeping through by six weeks, and two of those were twins. DC 4 was sleeping through from 12 weeks. DCs 5 & 6 are as yet enjoying midnight feasts too much to consider missing them for sleep Grin

MissMummy1 · 13/01/2013 18:46

Oh heck I think we're in growth spurt hell again. 6 weeks tomorrow. She's been the most grizzly bugger all day. Cluster feeding boob attacking followed by 10 min power naps then more crying until she's fed again Confused I had a friend round all afternoon - safe to say I've put her off kids for a bit longer!!

Oh and we are on our own overnight again. I'm flagging alreadySad

glendathegoodwitch · 13/01/2013 18:56

sophia love that site and a star wrap is just what I've been looking for - something in between house clothes and full on snow suit!!!

detective what a complete twunt - I love this thread and have posted occasionally in others asking for advice but some of the threads seem to have some complete mutters with soh bypasses!!!!

Found my copy of GF so have tried to cancel my amazon order der!!!! Am going to try swaddling for day time too

Any tips for more efficient bf'ing?? During the day unless we're out Dottie feeds on and off all day falling asleep on me fore 5-20 mins but as soon as I go to move her she wants more!!!

Was snipered on the swing I was bidding for last night on eBay - annoyed very!!!!

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 18:59

My girls were both sleeping through by 6 and 7 weeks.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/01/2013 19:01

glenda you could try gently blowing on her face when she looks like she's nodding off?

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 13/01/2013 19:09

That happens here at night glenda, I feed until she falls asleep then sit her up to burp, she seems to burp on her own after 10 mins when asleep. This usually wakes her then she carries on feeding. Do you feed after a nap or when she's due a nap? I always feed after a nap so she's fully alert.

TheDetective · 13/01/2013 19:15

I can't actually remember when DS1 slept through. I actually have no recollection. I think it wasn't too long? Memory has forgotten as must have been too traumatic to remember!

Excellent title thread VQ

STUNT take note of VQ.... Grin.

I have taken to waking pissing off Oscar during feeds. He seems to fall asleep and just do little tiny tongue flicks, enough to make me think he is still feeding(he probably is but just have tiny drips as opposed to properly feeding!). I have decided to stop him after 1 minute of sleepy tongue flicks, and wake him by any means necessary. Then offer feed again. This seems to help. It does not take a fucking hour to take 6zoz Oscar. Hmm 30 minutes is acceptable. 20 minutes is my aim!

Usually putting him down wakes him enough to feed again. So rather than letting her have the 5-20 min nap, just put her down straight away, then let her stuff herself full feed again straight away?

Tut!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/01/2013 19:21

That mumsnutter must have a chip stuck upon her shoulder. Some people I have noticed say some very spiteful things when undercover of cyber space. Is piss poor in my opinion.

Passmethecrisps · 13/01/2013 19:22

I would like to present to the opinionated biatch young miss passmethecrisps who sleeps from 11 to at least 7 every day. She is 9 weeks tomorrow. All babies are different and she sounds mean and jealous that she is not in our awesome group

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/01/2013 19:24

I think we should call the next thread "everyone ready with their school uniforms!"

Olly has been doing 7 hours most nights for a couple of weeks so she doesn't know what she's talking about.

Passmethecrisps · 13/01/2013 19:25

P falls asleep during feeds. I tickle her chin, rock her forward and back again and tickle her feet. If none of that works I take the bottle away and do some gentle burping which usually wakes her up a bit. Last resort is nappy change which always works.

Passmethecrisps · 13/01/2013 19:28

Oh, and I have been known to keep a damp cloth handy to wipe over her face if things are not moving along. Mind you, this was just afte we were out of hospital and she was still reluctant to eat

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/01/2013 19:31

Ignore me we should go with vqs. bitch thread title defo. Sorry, didn't mean to toes step.

Off for hot hot shower and hair wash. Am on the hunt for some love tonight. DR said no DTD until I have my coil fitted incase i get preggers but I have just finished my period today so should be ok for a sneaky one shouldn't I? WinkGrin

I have never been able to conceive for 18 months after giving birth anyway despite going at it hammer and tongs from 8 weeks after last time in an attempt for dS2

BigPigLittlePig · 13/01/2013 19:35

Envy sophia but still too scared so it's my own fault
