missmummy you know what I will say! Aveeno Lotion with colloidal oatmeal. I got some for Oliver's cradle cap and there was a dramatics improvement in the first day and it soaks in beautifully.

horseylady · 08/01/2013 15:09

Oh I didn't say bronchitis I just said cold. Oh I'll tell them. They like drama!!

I could quite happily rehome one of my cats. But that's a whole story on it's own!!

Pr the mud really gets to me. I have limited it to my car which is trashed most of the time anyway!! The hall where we come in. Then the dogs room. Which is the utility room. That's trashed. The kitchen floor is a bit muddy but I can clean it up. The lounge near the patio doors can get a bit muddy if the dogs are accidentally lt in through it in the wet. Nothing with four legs is allowed into the hall and then upstairs. Unless accompanied by a lead!!! Keeps upstairs and my carpets clean!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 08/01/2013 15:13

fatima I didn't do the deed. Last time with a third degree tear till 8 weeks. We managed 5 weeks this time but am now wearing barrier pjs because of this period. I too was really worried about it but once you have DTD once will be ok and back to normal.

How long is the flight yw?

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2013 15:25

They may well insist that E needs antibiotics at the very least but preferably a hospital stay. We haven't said a word to my ILs since the children got ill. As far as they know we have all had coughs, and we are all better. Much easier than the full story.

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 08/01/2013 15:25

Thanks BPLP will dust off the pump and give it a try one morning then

FatimaLovesBread · 08/01/2013 15:26

Thanks for the reassurance wrt DTD, I have a tear follow up appointment at the end of Jan so I'd like to try before then.
Ha ha VQ unfortunately seeing as M is an IVF baby that can't even said to be true Grin

Hmm bigpig maybe I should express some and try get her to take a bottle before Saturdays party. Although she still likes to cluster feed so I'm worried she'll want to be on the boob constantly. The party starts at 6:30 though so should get a couple of hours.

M is now wide awake again and screaming at her hiccups. Knew it wouldn't last long

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2013 15:27

We're all on one level and the main part of the house is open plan. The dog isnnt allowed in the bedrooms but hard to confine him to one spot in the living kitchen dining area. He has his rug by the door but he's off that as soon as I turn my back.

YellowWellies · 08/01/2013 15:33

It's only an hour Sophia so m'eh not too bad!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 08/01/2013 15:45

Fatima I'm hoping to still be BF in may as well due to a holiday that's booked already. It just makes things easier I think. I have taken DD away when bottle fed when she was 6 months and it was a bit of a a faff with the cold water steriliser and everything.

Baby J can take bottles of EBM which is handy but he doesn't get them often as I'm usually around!

In answer to your sex question, we DTD a few weeks ago, it kinda hurt at my epi scar a bit but not really awful. Haven't managed since as I'm too bloody knackered!

I'm already part time at work since having DD so can't help you there!

blonderthanred · 08/01/2013 15:45

No dtd here yet either. There always seems to be this baby hanging around.

YellowWellies · 08/01/2013 15:52

Fatima I'd like to BF for a year minimum but could be tempted to wean early just so I get to eat chocolate and cheese again Blush

CandyPop · 08/01/2013 15:57

chunky thanks :)

I haven't dtd either and LO is 8 weeks and I had a c section so my downstairs is intact! Tbf I was going to start contraceptive pills last Friday and then I got mastitis so now antibiotics render it invalid. Yes we could use other forms of contraception but I can't risk it splitting ! Paranoid about getting pregnant again!! So dh will have to wait another week... We haven't dtd since the last 3 months of my pregnancy! So what's another week to a dry spell of 5 months!!! Wow that sounds bad.... Poor dh!

ValiumQueen · 08/01/2013 16:18

fatima apologies, I had forgotten that Smile J has just this week had his first bottle at 10 weeks. Some babies will, some won't.

I plan to bf until he weans himself. I fed DD1 to 8 months, but because of shift work and bastard employers I had to stop. I was very upset. DD2 self-weaned at 18 months. I was gutted. If someone said DS would sleep better, I would be sorely tempted to give him formula now tbh. I have promised myself I will feed him until he starts solids and review, again reviewing when I return to work. I do not want to express at work again. I have done it twice and it is hard work. I would hopefully continue feeding him when at home until he self weans. I do not think I will be sad this time though!

I would love to be able to go part time. The agreement was if I ever had a third, I could, but with changes to CTCs I do not want to risk cutting hours and finding out we are no longer entitled to help. Apparently there are plans to only give them to folk who work full time. As it stands I would be better off working part time. I will have two in full time childcare and one in after school care and holidays.

gardenpixies32 · 08/01/2013 16:43

Both girls have nasty colds. Just back from the doctors but is nothing too bad, thankfully. Just two grumpy & snotty babies last night and today.

Still haven't attempted DTD here, girls are 14 weeks old. Haven't since I was about 26 weeks pregnant. Don't have any desire at all to. No time. No time to even brush teeth.

horseylady · 08/01/2013 16:45

Vq no guarantees!! Ds sleeps fine when well but wakes when ill. I know you said j is the same. Obviously I can physically see how much he's eating and when it was taking an hour to eat 3oz when he can down 8 in 20, I knew there was an issue!! Btw he normally takes 30 minutes to eat but has swallowed it that fast before!!

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 08/01/2013 17:08

I've not kept up at all I don't think so I'll answer the questions I can remember...

DTD. Have done it 2x since 11/11 (as we DTD & 30mins later contractions started). DS is 8+2. It didn't hurt despite a couple of stitches (first time at 5wks). However, sorry if TMI, but my lady lips Blush were v sensitive & lube was required. Not sure if its because I'm bfing & therefore a bit dry due to lack of oestrogen or what, but its not due to stitches there!! It's sometimes a bit "tingly" when I wipe or clothes rub, so maybe its nerves adjusting?

Either way, doesn't bother me much, as I have almost zero sex drive. Don't feel like it due to tiredness & all the other reasons someone else listed, but also no real opportunity. If one dc is asleep, the other is waking up!!!

I have a wedding reception to go to on Sat. Wearing a lovely bfing dress from mamalooksgood.com. Less than £20 inc p+p via eBay. I figured its worth having 1 or 2 dresses if I'm going to be feeding for a while... Weirdly I managed w/out when bfing my DD - my bridesmaid's dress was not bfing compatible but I still managed Wink

I plan to feed for a year or so. I had wanted to with DD but appendicitus/hospital stay/iv antibiotics got in the way when she was 9mo. I don't want to go to 2yo or wait for him to self wean, I just want to avoid the faff of formula this time.

I got my period when DD was 4mo, despite feeding her quite a lot. I think it coincided with her sleeping longer at night (not long after she did a 10pm to 7am ish stretch). She also liked her dummy a lot.

I went back pt with DD so will stay doing 3 days. I'd love to do none less but its not feasible. Plus, I'd go back when they're at school, so its best to keep a hand in & hang on to a good job whilst its there iyswim.

Haven't tried another bottle. Don't want to replace a feed at mo due to mastitis etc. Seems pointless to express just to bottle feed (or not!!) just to try it. Can't freeze anything I express as may contain antibiotics & its a bit dodgy to give it to him a few mths down the line, so don't want to waste anything from the freezer... However, later in the wk, will be digging the TT closer to nature ones out of the loft & try those. He can't seem to work out how to suck a dummy at first (he's settled to sleep with it twice today with help) which doesn't bode well...Hmm

A is a tad grumpy after his jabs but no real reaction, not even a raised temp, so relieved about that. Has lots more bad wind, which makes him cry out in pain at times, in his sleep, but I doubt that's a jab issue!!

Still doing 3am feeds but they're fairly quick & he goes back to sleep quickly, so can't complain. He also seems to do a morning cluster feed from 6am but again sleeps well between, so as long as I can wake myself enough to get up & get showered, its manageable!!

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 08/01/2013 17:18

toomany I hardly ever offer both. If he seems unsettled on one, I offer the other, but generally he stays attached & feeds until he decides he's had enough, & takes himself off. He's gaining weight well, so figure he's getting enough!!

lcdaff · 08/01/2013 17:21

Candypop hubby bashing is like a sport, luckily for me his known me a long time and has learnt not to take it personally unless my raging lasts more than a few hours. I have to vent, loudly before I can address certain things calmly. I have endless tolirance for children but a very short fuse with dh when he should know better.
Mil bashing is also very theraputic and vital with my mil. Dh doesn't want to be around her but she's been waiting almost 18 years for a grandchild, dh, her eldest was 10 at the time. Bil who still lives at home appears to have made it painfully clear that we were on the edge of cutting her out bar birthdays and holidays as she was almost pleasent today. Will see what news bil brings tomorrow.

Vq it's horriable that you get left in the evenings. Dh works split shift early morning and evenings six days a week. He can get under my feet during the days and always seems to be leaving as boo settles down for a cluster feed. Must be very hard with more than one to look after. Hang in there.

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 08/01/2013 17:23

DH is being a bit more helpful & considerate of my feelings so feeling a bit kinder towards him.

Sorry for the waffle!!! Been DD-less today but still manic god only knows why??!! so can post infrequently but with verbal diarrhea Grin

Kyzordz · 08/01/2013 17:25

E had his jabs this morning, no temperature yet but he's been asleep other than the two feeds he's had. He was asleep when he had his jabs and I'm not sure but think that might be why he keeps randomly waking up screaming blue murder and then going back to sleep after 10 seconds or so :( poor fella. I didn't think anything of it at the time :( i'm such an idiot! He's been really clingy too, sleeping much better on me but waking up wailing more frequently when in his crib. He fed ok earlier but am aware he might go off his food.

I have read everything but as usual cannot remember who I wanted to say what to! Hope everyone's poorly lo's get better soon, I know there's a few about :( x

PetiteRaleuse · 08/01/2013 17:27

What is this DTD of which you speak?

DD1 has become a co-sleeper and refuses to either sleep in her own room or go tosleep without one of us next to her, who generally falls asleep too. It's bern like that since we moved in August.

At some point I'm going to tackle the issue and reclaim our evenings together and our bed. Don't have the energy for the battle yet.

Evilwater · 08/01/2013 18:02

Well according to the drs he has bad colic.
The dr was very good, checked his ears, eyes and such. He listened to my concerns, and there was a great deal of hmmmm........ He checked with his older collegee both were very impressed with his head control. I told them what I had been doing and alot of head nodding, I'm doing all the right things.
"It's just colic"
They surgested a homeopathic remedy, but I'd have to go into town to see the pharmacist as to what.

Oh any tips on getting a urine sample from a 3 month old??? They just wanted to be sure it wasn't a UTI.

I told them the gripe water works very well, and they said to keep with it. If he gets any worse to come back.

Evil
P.s I will catch up with the posts later.

Passmethecrisps · 08/01/2013 18:18

kissy your post about doc made me mad. What a load Of garbage. Why can't some GPs accept they don't know or ask someone else? Infuriating.

evil I hope you get a bit of relief. It might be colic but I do think that GPs use it as a catch all with babies who are gaining weight.

So, we got jagged (worst thing ever!!) and weighed. P is now 4.6kg! Back on the 25th centile. Hi-5 little porker. How did you get on lane

MissMummy1 · 08/01/2013 18:23

No sex here either. The last time we did it was July (and I cried Blush ). M was 5 weeks yesterday. I'm in no hurry and he can and will waitWink

Baby massage was fun. Fancy it yw? It's run by the nice hv. Was chuffed because it meant I could avoid the horrible one on thursday as got M weighed there. 10lbs13oz Shock

How are you getting to your DSis' on Friday yw? I have no plans (and the car during the day!) so happy to pick you guys up from the airport or ferrytoll if you're getting the airport bus?

We're debating flying over to norn irn beginning of feb. I'm dreading it so hats off to you for doing it alone!

I'm also struggling to find anything that fits me and looks okay. Have resorted to stealing clothes from my fat sister! Smile (bad mm1...)

Detective hope things are better today xxx

CandyPop · 08/01/2013 18:35

icdaff I like that... Dh bashing. However unlike you my anger turns inwards and I end up stewing silently, even when dh says let's talk, I physically can't!

evil we had to provide a urine sample too a few weeks ago. at the hospital they gave us sterilise pads and we suppose to catch her wee and then rinse it wearing sterilised gloves then into sample pot with syringe . This was easier said then done! Sample came back contaminated as there was a little poo in it Hmm we then had to go to a&e (don't ask , docs misread blood results and called us in for an emergency Angry ) . They try to make us get her to sit on a pot and just wait until she pees?! idiot . Finally they brought over this plastic bag and stuck it over her fanjo, I fed her and finally she peed. Hurrah!! Has the doc asked for a sample? U should ask doc how he expects u to do it?!
