I went with Gary's suggestion, as it was quite awesome and indeed factual!

Result figgyboy hates the snow he actually recoils from it the minute I even show a handful of it no sledging for me, staying in eating pancakes and trying to get my new work laptop to log on should I need it Monday!!

HoneyLovesCake · 18/01/2013 13:54

Very sensible, pancakes sound much nicer than snow which looks pretty but let's face if is cold wet miserable stuff. Brrrr

No snow here just lots of snot, Rocco has a cold & is teething & I am shattered from non stop boobing. Couldn't get him to sleep until gone 10 last night, I do not know how you ladies with bad sleepers do it! Feeling sorry for myself after a few bad days & nights :( anyway, he's napping so I am hopefully going to get my hair washed as I look like a scarecrow & would love to go for a walk but can't looking like this. Hmm

SevenReasonsToSmile · 18/01/2013 14:01

Mmm pancakes.

Hope you're feeling better soon honey :)

Another bad (ish) night, up at 3 but it was DHs turn. In all fairness though I think it was DS that woke her up.

I like looking at snow, being out in it not so much fun. 'Tis just dangerous but pretty rain.

pluCaChange · 18/01/2013 16:57

Stop with the pancake talk! We're having bolognaise for supper, so if I can behave with the spag, that'll be low carb! Grin

DS didn't want to go back out into the snow this PM. It's so sad; he just wanted to be cosy and watch television. This article has really resonated with me today: www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/9811008/Children-being-raised-in-captitivy-due-to-health-and-safety-paranoia.html Sad
Well, if we do live in a caravan, there'll be lots of outdoor play!

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 18/01/2013 17:00

We are just about to sit down to a lamb roast dinner Grin pancakes sound good too.

Sky def doesn't like the snow. Screams every time you put her near any. Darcie gone for a sleepover at a friends x

pluCaChange · 18/01/2013 17:07

P.S. aww, LMF, teeth, too!

OiMissus · 18/01/2013 18:19

He had 30 mins sleep this morning.
He fell asleep at 17:00, and he's still asleep... Argh... Do I wake him?

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 18/01/2013 18:27

Oi what has BOi eaten today?

OiMissus · 18/01/2013 18:34

Not a lot. Hardly anything actually. He drank his milk ok.

Figgygal · 18/01/2013 18:35

I've been in the house all say going stir crazy!!! No hobbit for us tonight dh going round local with friend so im having a just danceathon to try work off the pancakes and bday fudge. DS been maddening since about half 3 whining bashing head on everything refused his bath he's only had 45 mins sleep since 6.30 definitely not enough!! He's now cuddling up watching some in the night garden and then he's off to bed early cantering some calpol must be teeth right?

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 18/01/2013 18:38

Oi if BOi has filled up on his milk, I would leave him to sleep. Maybe get some milk ready incase he wakes up so you can settle him back quickly.

OiMissus · 18/01/2013 19:23

Yep, I reckon, he's still asleep. DH has just arrived home so I'll get the milk ready and then try and change a nappy and get him in his jimjams.

NorthernChinchilla · 18/01/2013 20:08

Def leave him to sleep Oi; we've been known to put DS down to sleep in his day clothes and the nappy he was wearing (as long as it wasn't poopy and had gone on fairly recently, obviously!) if he'd passed out. Just have a bottle of milk to hand for about 1am...I see that SAHM has already beat me to it!

My poor little boy- he had all the disruption of Xmas (a week away sleeping in three different homes on top of ours) followed by croup, and then the top molars coming through. Today I noticed the bloody bottom pair had just cut too, so poor little sod's had all four come through in the space of a fortnight!

He had dribble burns on his chin Sad
But is now mega jaws with 12 teeth Grin

I know what you mean Plu, I worry about that too; I got to grow up running wild (in a kid's mud pie way, not crack pipes iyswim!) in both the very rural countryside and the middle of Manchester.
My siblings however... they live in a teeny tiny village in Hertfordshire and my little sis wasn't allowed to go to the corner shop 50 yards away on her own up to the age of 11...and then had to get two buses on her own for secondary school. Definitely want to get DS running about as much as poss.

And LMF, I am almost as delighted by your iPhone as I am by the news Octoboy's pox is clearing, that's great!

Oh, do not mention carpets, mess, and the lack of roof support joints for our loft "conversion", ha...

Aethelfleda · 18/01/2013 20:32

Aarg we are home in the 3 inches of snow, but our briadband has fallen over. Internet only possible through limp slow phone!!!

NorthernChinchilla · 18/01/2013 20:42

I feel your pain aethel, you poor thing. And my commiserations over the house too, this feels like it's been going on longer than any of the three pregnancies on the thread, so Bob knows how you must feel (other than stabby). Glad settling in is going well though.

SevenReasonsToSmile · 18/01/2013 20:55

northern DD still only has 3 teeth! Number 4 is causing us a lot of sleepless nights at the moment though.

aethel is there any sign of a hopeful exchange/completion date yet?

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 19/01/2013 07:32

AF has arrived with a vengeance :( bloody kills. DH is being really nice & helpful so I can rest Smile

OiMissus · 19/01/2013 08:17

We have discovered lemon curd. The BOi is happy. Grin

Figgygal · 19/01/2013 10:07

DS has some sort of snow rage the only time he's stopped crying and whining all morning is when we've fed him its day 3 of my 4 day weekend and I'm ashamed to say I'm missing work it's definitely easier than being home with a demanding 1yr old

Faffin · 19/01/2013 10:44

Your post inspired me oi. DS and I are sitting by the fire eating toast and lemon curd whilst DH and DD make a snowman in the garden. DD asked me to put the snowman's hat, scarf, nose etc. in a box for her so she could be like the boy in the snowman and the Snowdog. So cute! The snow seems a bit dry for building with though unfortunately

QueenofClean · 19/01/2013 11:17

DSM/SAHM here. Name change :)

Aethelfleda · 19/01/2013 13:17

Ahhh, broadband is back!

We are still bunkered down, though I may venture into town later as the girls need new school schoes. Can't wait til we have a real house with no conservatory: it's like a yurt in here as I put down multi

QueenofClean · 19/01/2013 13:22
Aethelfleda · 19/01/2013 13:23

Multiple rugs to insulate the very annoyingly cold laminate floor.

DS has his first really impressive self-inflicted injury: a nice head bump yesterday with "blood all over the place" but he was completely fine when they'd mopped him up and it looks like his eyebrow will cover any mark when it's healed...So starts the catalogue of bumps and bruises of a genuine toddler!

Like the new name, can we call you Queenie?

Aethelfleda · 19/01/2013 13:24

Oh and northern, no exchange date yet, we are really keen to move asap but the paperwork hasn't been sorted enough for the s
