I went with Gary's suggestion, as it was quite awesome and indeed factual!

:o

Onwards?

aethel know how you feel ds falls over scratches and bruises self constantly im amazed he has not done himself lasting damage!!

Had a massive fright earlier took ds upstairs dh in bathroom and ds trotted in to see him so i went to his room to get his clothes next thing i know the bathroom door closes i though ds was still in there then heard him chattering away much more loudly than he would be if in the bathroom with the door closed so i turned round to find him on the 2nd step holding on to banister trying to go downstairs Blush massive heart in mouth panicked sprint to catch him of course we both thought the other had him Blush need to look again at stairgate for top of stairs the 1 on his room door isnt always gonna work!!

Aethelfleda · 19/01/2013 13:29

Oh and northern, no exchange date yet, we are really keen to move asap but the paperwork on our purchase hasn't been sorted enough for the solicitor to be happy yet (and of course they need to be completely happy otherwise the mortgage would fall over etc.) it is literally a few bits of proof and paper, but until it's done we are in limbo. I have told the current school we will stay until halfterm, it would be great if we could move the week before but all depends on the sellers solicitors, unfortunately as ours have done everything they can. I'm not that stressed though as there's no point, I just have to have faith the papers will turn up and it will all work!

LittleMissFantabulous · 19/01/2013 13:48

Would it be wrong to gaffer tape a toddler to a sledge?

OP posts:
QueenofClean · 19/01/2013 14:07

Queenie will be fine Smile

Hope accidents aren't to bad and sproglets are on the mend.

LMF I thought that's what you had to do with gaffer tape and a sledge Wink

AnAirOfHope · 19/01/2013 14:31

Hope Aaron and I have the flu. I cant get out of bed and dh is trying to lookafter Hope. Who is being very compliant due to being so ill.

I still have to bf her and im so ill and hurt everywhere :(

Moan moan moan........

SevenReasonsToSmile · 19/01/2013 17:41

Hope you all feel better soon air.

Love the namechange queen, much more you!

Hope everyone has had a good day, we bought a sledge, hope its still here tomorrow!

NorthernChinchilla · 19/01/2013 20:34

We're hunkering down now, the snow should reach us shortly....

Very productive day, did the shopping, and went to out of town place to get paint to redecorate DS's room post ceiling trauma (and also chinchilla food), got two loads of washing and drying done, and we had lunch out in town too.

We're having a proper night in- film, bottle of wine, duck dinner. We're also starting it off with a cocktail called 'Oh Gosh'! Grin

Hope you all get better soon Air, and the DCs.

By the way, how are you doing MissRee and BJR? I know MissRee was suffering with whooping cough, so hope all's OK.

pluCaChange · 19/01/2013 21:11

Sorry you're all ill, AnAir. It's horrible when a child is docile due to being ill.

LMF, a bit dodgy with the tape, sadly. Tspe is only for immovable obhects, not tippy thingd (I was risking quite a bit taping DS to his breakfast chair this week - he's always flipping falling out). No need to go all heart in mouth like figgyboy's poor parents! Shock

Lovely calm attitude, aethel; hope I'm as calm when our turn comes. I shall be attempting to keep your fortitude in mind....

Have to go back a page now to see what else has happened. Tried to check in this AM with snother device, but it did that bloody annoying backwards typing.

pluCaChange · 19/01/2013 21:14

P.s that was quick ceiling work, northern
I expecyed longer. Have they done anything else yet?

What about your works, seven?

pluCaChange · 19/01/2013 21:25

Reading back to p. 22 now!

Hmmm... lots of bodily fluids, I must say! Blood, teething dribble, AF, breastmilk, lemon curd...

pluCaChange · 19/01/2013 21:48

Ha. You know how Honey recognised You-Know-Who from "anti bacterial Cif"?

I caught you again, QueenofClean! (just search the thread for that telling phrase!)

Grin Grin Grin

QueenofClean · 20/01/2013 08:24

Plu GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin works treat. You can use it everywhere.

LittleMissFantabulous · 20/01/2013 08:32

I'm a firm believer in germs:o Microbiologist by trade friend agrees, so it's no cifageddon hereWink

Teeth still working their way through, long slog!

OP posts:
QueenofClean · 20/01/2013 09:05

I believe in germs to a degree but still love a clean & nice smelling home Smile

Hope teeth appear soon. Sky was very rosy cheeked yesterday but slept thru the night so hoping its here now.

SevenReasonsToSmile · 20/01/2013 09:33

plu they should finish digging up the floor tomorrow hopefully, then can insulate and lay the new floor down, then do the million other jobs.

LittleMissFantabulous · 20/01/2013 10:31

I clean as I go along. I was brought up in a house that was cleaned daily and was a little sterile. Promised myself never to have a house the same. My home smells of kids, cats and coffee:o

OP posts:
CheungFun · 20/01/2013 10:57

DM is a clean freak but I haven't inherited her skills with a cloth & spray! I had a major declutter when we moved (omg 2 years ago this summer already) and I've got rid of lots of crappy clothes. I find decluttering means I don't have as much to tidy before I can get to clean. I used to find by the time I'd finished tidying I couldn't be bothered to start cleaning.

Storage is a biggie too, we've got much more storage space in this flat, and we've bought decent bookshelves and clear plastic tubs with lids and vacuum bags. It's helped a lot to actually have somewhere to put 'stuff'.

DS is in a serious grump today, not sleeping well and seriously whingey! Hurry up home DH (playing squash) to take over :o

Hope you all feel better soon Air there's nothing worse than being I'll with kids IMO!

We took DS out on the sledge yesterday which was great fun! Not sure DS was 100% convinced though :o Next year I'm sure he'll get it! We wrapped him up warm and took the cosy toes off the buggy to put him in the sledge....little Eskimo baby

QueenofClean · 20/01/2013 11:13

Storage has always been a major problem here. I lived minimalist when it was just me & Darcie at my flat. DH is a hoarder, although he has been a lot better in the last few years by chucking a lot of junk out. So lots of vaccum packs & storage boxes in rooms.

LittleMissFantabulous · 20/01/2013 11:35

We have practically no storage, it's a nightmare. I'm buying some of those plastic tubs that stack, meant for recycling but ideal for toys as they can be opened without installing them:)

OP posts:
LittleMissFantabulous · 20/01/2013 11:35

Unstacking*

pluCaChange · 20/01/2013 13:29

DS's playdate friend has asked why our oven is "muddy". Mortifying!

SevenReasonsToSmile · 20/01/2013 13:46

Your muddy oven made me laugh plu!

Sympathies on the lack of storage LMF, our old flat didnt even have one cupboard (other than kitchen ones obv!), the ironing board stood behind the kitchen door and the Hoover in the bedroom corner. Now it's not the lack of storage that's the issue, it's the amount of stuff we have! We're improving though, the garage had to be emptied, and the spare room needs clearing for the nursery, we need to be ruthless as we'll have nowhere left to put shit we don't need except the under stairs cupboard!

Plastic storage boxes are awesome, I have some full DD and DS baby clothes, great as you can put them in the loft without stuff going foisty.

This morning we've been sledging in the garden and made coco pop cakes. It's now snowing again.

LittleMissFantabulous · 20/01/2013 14:30

I hve one child trumping away to himself, one complaining f the smell and one outside building a snowman in merry ignorance of the smell the rest of us are putting up with!

I'm decluttering slowly. I'm not a traditional hoarder, I jut tend to shoe everything on the shelf unit or in my room to deal with when I have more time, but I rarely get the time to deal with it! Slowly slowly:)

Aethelfleda · 20/01/2013 16:43

I've just totally tempted fate by doing a new-school-uniform-supply shop Hmm.
In my defence, most of the uniform at the old and both new schools is grey (phew) so even if it all goes tits up, the tights and skirts are still useable and I'm sure i can ebay things or use them out of school. And in this weather the DDS NEED enough tights to go around.

Hope you're all doing OK in the snow!

Faffin · 20/01/2013 19:25

Snowing all day again + more illness (DD now) + AF + broken boiler + teething DS = grumpy faffin

Oh and plu, I have a muddy oven too. Life's simply too short for some cleaning tasks!
