The big ones Grin

ShellyBobbs · 12/12/2012 14:16

The piss was from this morning, hence the need to change it. It was only when I looked a bit closer that I could see where all the other things had been mopped up from (yuck). He squirted a bit of shit on my pillow the other day (projectile shitting), I just gave it a quick wipe, swopped it with hubbies pillow and turned it over. Does this make me a bad wife? Xmas Grin

I'll look on the webite now, when I should really be changing my bed!

ShellyBobbs · 12/12/2012 14:18

I've just eaten 8 crumpets with cheese on because I couldn't find any foil to wrap the unused ones in Xmas Grin

ShellyBobbs · 12/12/2012 14:20

Oh, and just read that link. Thank goodness somebody is singing the praises for co-sleeping (I hate how American that saying is), this is my fourth time of doing it and I'd recommend it to anyone if they follow the safety aspects.

mummytobe1990 · 12/12/2012 14:24

quick question.....how much should a newborn sleep for?

shes only 4 days old but sleeps more than i expected her too, she wakes up for feeds but thats about it.
I asked the midwife but she was very unhelpful and just asked if it was 'out of character' for her?!?! she is 4 days old for christs sake how am i supposed to know if its normal for her or not??

haha shelly LO puked on hubbys pillow yesterday.....i forgot to clean it up and didnt turn it either, i meant to but got distracted....oops Xmas Grin

TheDetective · 12/12/2012 14:24

Our bed has not been changed since Oscar arrived. It stinks. Not because there is anything Oscar has done on it.. But DP stinks it out sweating at night bleurrrgghhh. I have been asking him for over 2 weeks to change it.

Same as it took him over a month to clean up the dog shit in the back garden.

There are words to be had tonight. He is taking the piss. He has thrown clothes over the airer, so they are now a crumpled stinking mess and need rewashing, he has just thrown stuff in the steriliser so it won't be clean properly. He is doing half arsed jobs of everything, because he knows I haven't time to check up. Fuming with him. He has no excuse. He gets at least 7 hours unbroken sleep. Twat. Not tonight he won't. Oh no.

TheDetective · 12/12/2012 14:26

And DS is getting the riot act thrown at him tonight too. He isn't getting up for school on time. Not doing his jobs, and generally making life harder.

Both of them better watch out....!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/12/2012 14:27

You are setting off scotch egg and crumpet cravings!!

Anyone got any good birthday ideas for a 6 year old girl? I am present idea'd out and DD2 has a birthday on 22nd Dec.

DonnaDoon · 12/12/2012 14:28

GT I didnt give calpol after jabs she didnt need it ...she wasnt very hungry for a couple of days and had noticibly sore thighs but was settled with lots of extra kisses and cuddles.

ShellyBobbs · 12/12/2012 14:29

Just been on the Baba Sling website, I've never heard so much cheesy shit for ages lol

'Parents everywhere are re-discovering the importance of carrying their young'

^WTF?

It did help though, and I will have to practice later on with Winnie the Poo Xmas Grin

DonnaDoon · 12/12/2012 14:30

Sophia my 6 year old dd lurves one direction if you please :)

PetiteRaleuse · 12/12/2012 14:32

Mummytobe at four days old they sleep a lot. Even at 7 weeks old they sleep more than they are awake except on colic days

I wouldn't worry, birth is quite a big deal for them too, especially if you had an epidural or spinal they are really tired from it.

Glad you're feeling better Detective. A tough decision I imagine but if you're both already seeming better then probably the best one.

DD1 has scattered all her toys and LO's nappies all over the floor this morning. Was pinned to the sofa by LO quite a lot today and she made the most of it. They're both asleep now. So the animals are now fighting for my attention.

ShellyBobbs · 12/12/2012 14:32

Sophia I promise you that she would love a yoga /birthing ball. I got one for my daughters 8th birthday, she bought her friend one for hers and my little 2 year old nephew has just got one and loves it. A bright pink one :)

ShellyBobbs · 12/12/2012 14:33

What about a baby doll with it's own nappies and all the stuff you have? You could do things together.

glendathegoodwitch · 12/12/2012 14:34

Omg shelly I've just spat tea all over a feeding Dottie reading that you swapped pillows Hahahahaha the revenge we seek on dh's cos they are getting sleep!!!

I feel for all the mummies with colicky babies - it sounds really heart wrenching having a screaming baby and not knowing what to do!!

I too am having a terrible diet - living on tea, tea cakes and toast pretty much oh and take aways if Dottie doesn't let me have half hour to knock something up as dh's idea of a balanced dinner is 4 types of carbs from the freezer!!!

Have emailed dh - we're having words tonight Hmm

MissMummy1 · 12/12/2012 14:34

Thanks for the advice. She is still feeding like a trooper and is happy in herself. It's just a shock to go from expressing and feeding loads to just feeding her.

I also need to sort out my eating. I seem to be surviving on cereals yoghurt and biscuits. With the very occassional banana thrown in Grin

ShellyBobbs · 12/12/2012 14:40

Good luck Glenda

I found a really mouldy satsuma in the fruit bowl with a black banana wrapped around it. Was gutted!

Is £4 for a brand new Jane Norman dress good?

PetiteRaleuse · 12/12/2012 14:41

If she seems content and is providing you with lots of wet nappies then she should be fine. Make the most of it :)

Dixiebell · 12/12/2012 14:47

mummy, Teddy is only just having some wakeful periods, he's 12 days old. Before yesterday he really was only feeding & sleeping like you say.

priscilla, how lovely, another Arlo. We're always asked "where's that from?". I think people feel it sounds a bit Spanish or something. But it's just a name I found and liked! Funny, my sept 2010 thread from when he was born also had another Arlo :)

shelly, you made me laugh out loud with the shit on DH's pillow!!

YellowWellies · 12/12/2012 15:16

Donna I too have consumed a lot of big scotch eggs these last 7 weeks. Does a pork and pickle pie count as a healthy snack? Ahem. Am now managing to eat a tin of big soup each day for lunch and cereal for breakfast, and mars bars with everything. Blush I've also found getting ready made sandwich fillers from teh supermarket is a quick cheat to a sandwich and if you cut the sarnie into halves you can eat one handed.

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 12/12/2012 15:30

Good tips YW & Donna - scotch eggs & sandwich fillings added to nxt wks shop.

SO glad we got a dishwasher recently - the house is horrendous enough with that piling up too!!

The scar tissue wasn't actually causing a problem in the end (although think that was why I tore again this time). Saw a gynae who couldn't work out why I had pain, offered a laproscopy under GA to do some digging around as it were, but I didn't accept; before too long I had my appendicitus and the pain from DTD went. Think it might have been to do with the appendix/organs shuffling around. The scar tissue is there, changes the appearance of my fanjo but otherwise causes no issue.

Hated my baba sling. Seems to big & baby too low for my frame. Bought a close carrier instead, much better :)

sweetpea1112 · 12/12/2012 15:33

Thank you for the welcome everyone. Doesn't everything seem so much better during the day?!

Detective during my time lurking on the thread you have struck me as a very strong lady & I sure you have made the right decision for you. My Oscar is ff after we struggled with bf in the early days & each feed left us both in tears. I really didn't want our bond to be affected so made the decision to ff & we are both much happier for it. He seems to be thriving as he was weighed by the HV today and weighs 6lb 14oz - he weighed 6lb 1oz when he was born 2 weeks ago. The guilt is still there but this has helped to ease it somwhat.

priscilla101 · 12/12/2012 16:24

dixie we are always asked where it is from too. I never know what to say!

sweetpea guilt is par for the course once you're a parent, it's just a question of what over...your LO is being fed and is growing, so as far as I can see you are doing great!

Lane81 I have been told the first growth spurt is at three to four weeks, then there's another at 6-8 weeks. That would fit in with what LO has done - I think she is going theough the second one now at seven and a half weeks.
