He did it once when DD2 was wee too, although no alcohol then.

horseylady · 08/12/2012 21:29

Vq - suggest his age :D he'll suddenly regain bladder control.

I'd seriously kill dh if he did that!!

The rocking horse is very very cute. Dh doesn't know yet.....

MissMummy1 · 08/12/2012 21:31

Yes sophia he is being super lovely and helpful so will have to let him off! Nothing is totally wrecked so it's all good Smile . We've moved on from the days he used to wash jeans with white work shirts... I said we wouldn't shorten whatever we named her but from day 1 we've been calling her Tilly. Her daddy is a Terry and theres something sweet about Tilly and Terry. I call her Matilda too and when she's passed the cute baby stage she will probably get it much more often. My stupid inlaws think her name is Matilda-Rose though (double barrelled and refusing to accept she has two middle names - Rose and Luna) so she gets MatildaRose from themConfused Sorry thats a bit rambly... Basically we call her Tilly and Matilda. Not Mattie yet, but dh wanted Matthew nn Matty for a boy so I imagine it will come!

When she is old enough she can decide for herself what she wants to be called Grin

Out of interest, did people ask you if your dd could move things with her fingers?! Shock (as in Roald Dahl) We've had a few smart comments from people and it takes me all my effort not to say to them, "no, but she'a communicating to me she thinks you're a prat!" Smile

Elizadoesdolittle · 08/12/2012 21:32

cat shit that sounds awful. Thank goodness she's ok. Scary stuff.

Ella is still bringing up phlegm/sick after pretty much every feed. I feel so sorry for her when she coughs. I have a bloody cough too so it's a full house of it now. Am hoping the germs bugger off soon, DD1 has had a cough for about 8 weeks now!

MissMummy1 · 08/12/2012 21:37

Scary biscuits catbag - so glad she is okay. Thanks My younger sister is only 17. She's passed her test but thankfully doesnt have a car yet. She's really wreckless and I doubt any of us will sleep again when she gets one! She's got herself in a few situations due to her own stupidity - she acts first and thinks later. I dread the day my dd grows up and I'm worrying about her being out in the big bad world! Confused

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 08/12/2012 21:55

DH I have that too. All day though, and with the exception that if he tries to comfort feed to sleep on my right boob, he gets a LOT of milk and gets very grumpy. Rocked him to sleep in the early hours on a couple of occassions. He cried himself to sleep the other day too - I was trying to get out of the house and it was not going well. Felt very :( about it too.

TheDetective · 08/12/2012 21:59

Will persevere with the Metanium, and frequent changes! We have only used cotton wool and water on him, no wipes at all. Looks like another sensitive skin one like DS!

VQ My sanity, and washing machine isn't up for reusables! It would be another thing DP could get wrong too Grin. The washing machine couldn't cope with the extra loads of baby clothes it was having through it and had a full on mental break down the other night!

My ex once pissed in the wardrobe. He was drunk. Men disgust me! I think it is a fairly common thing for men to do tbh! Still idiotic, and I hope he cleaned it up... more than cleaned it up!

MM Matilda (Tilly!) was my top girls name, I was adamant I wanted to use it if we had a girl, but DP just wouldn't agree bastard. I love it - and if anyone mentioned Roald Dahl, I'd just let the baby shit on them Grin. DP's aunt who thinks we have named Oscar after her dog would have a fit if we had any more kids and I got my own way! Her other dog is Tilly haha!

Anyone else wondering about the use of sprays at home? I use hairspray occasionally, but don't like to with Oscar in the house? Same for things like fabreeze, or polish. Both me and DP are using roll on deodorant. Same with bleach - I liked to pop bleach in the loo and sinks, and clean kitchen sides with it once a week. Not wanting to now! I had a steam cleaner once, didn't like it! So don't want to do that. Have used natural cleaning stuff such as lemon, vinegar, bicarb etc, and that is okay for every day, but I like a deep clean with bleach! Plus if the dog has an 'accident' she likes to piss on DS's carpet we have to use bleach to clean it - nothing else gets rid of the smell.

Also, another question (full of them today!) can people please tell me how their baby clothes are standing up? Pretty much all of Oscars are from Next, got a couple of M&S bits. But after the first wash, they just don't look nice anymore Confused. I don't know if its my machine probably or bad luck?! Where is the best quality you have found?

jenbird · 08/12/2012 22:07

Cat Wow that must have been very scary for both you and her. I too am dreading my children growing up and having more independence. I will worry constantly. My MIL got it right. Both her boys have stayed close to her. They both married waifs and strays with no strong family commitments. I hope mine do the same so at least they stay nearby!
vq Shock I think I would actually kill my dh for this especially if it went near me.
gt Hope you are feeling better today. Don't try and rationalise your feelings. You are allowed to have good days and bad. I think you are doing the right thing by making a plan. Make sure you talk to someone if you feel you need to.
Bry I think anyone with more than one child feels torn. I constantly feel stretched and harassed and then I feel guilty but ultimately we can only do our best. I adore my children and I hope that they know it.

We have had a lovely day today. We went to the Emma Bridgewater PYO cafe. The older dc's all did plates and I did a little mug for Eira with her footprints. They all really enjoyed it and did a great job painting. This evening we have been to watch carols on the canal and see Father Christmas. It was lovely.

Shocking night last night. Baby girl just does not really like being awake. She also likes my boob in her mouth constantly which is fine except that she doesn't want milk and gets really cross. She totally overfed last night and was sick a number of times because of this and all the mucous she has. Poor little mite.

Her cord fell off this morning. She has a small hernia but her belly button is REALLY long. Prob a good cm and a half. Will it shrink???

Epic post sorry...

horseylady · 08/12/2012 22:10

Some of mine haven't washed well others brilliant!? Only use 40 degrees.

I don't use hairspray dh uses spray deodorant I use roll on. I use wipes on the work surfaces and floors and bathroom. And sides. I bleach sinks and toilets but the baby is no where near. Ive prob sprayed cleaning products a couple of times but I use wipes mainly. And steam clean the floors weekly.

TheDetective · 08/12/2012 22:27

We use wipes found them in the fridge this morning Hmmtoo, and microfibre cloths. I can't keep Oscar far enough away from stuff, my house is smallish. All these new things to worry over!

I've washed all his stuff at 30 on a 30 min wash. All marks are gone but they look bobbly with little threads sticking out of them!

ValiumQueen · 08/12/2012 22:42

detective I blame your machine. Many of the clothes DS is in are Next, and are on the third wearer. They all look fine.

jen DS had a long button. It is fine now. Give it time.

Lots of mucous and phlegm and coughing babies and vomiting siblings about then. Must be the season for it.

TheDetective · 08/12/2012 22:46

Bugger! Machine is 18 months old, and was not cheap! Bastard thing!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 08/12/2012 22:55

mm lol, no, we got all the waltzing Matilda cracks though Xmas Confused Ann liking Tilly & Terry!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 08/12/2012 22:59

Detective why don't you try using Milton ( other sterilising fluids are available ) where you might have used bleach. And Method cleaning stuff is quite good.

FatimaLovesBread · 08/12/2012 23:03

We've also got lots of next and they're washing fab. We've done a couple of 60 washes as well with the explosive poo.

M was just laid on the floor in front of the tv mesmerised by Die Hard Hmm think she's going to take after daddy

CandyPop · 08/12/2012 23:09

dh I'm going through that exact scenario now! She just won't sleep and does the needy wimper cry but I know she's really tired now. Hubby's taken her downstairs to try settle while I catch a hour or so sleep.

chunky hopefully once he learns to re latch it will be a lot easier. It's ur combination of lack of sleep and site nipples that really gets me. I think if I can have pain free feedinf than I can cope with the nights... But when u have both.... Eurgh!!!!

Ok I better get sleeping!!

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 08/12/2012 23:17

I'm not feeling that great emotionally this evening - sure its just exhaustion. Feeling a bit 'detached' from DC. Know I love them & want nothing bad to happen to them, but don't feel it. If I could get 3 or 4hrs straight sleep, I'm sure I'd feel better, esp as the last couple of nights have been very poor for quality sleep. Never mind, tomorrow is another day...

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 08/12/2012 23:18

Oh and it is improving candy just a bit 'back to basics' iyswim. A day or two & I'm sure things will be better.

Dixiebell · 08/12/2012 23:41

Been trying to go to bed for an hour. Every time I think I'm at the stage of putting Teddy down to sleep he does another poo...!

Dixiebell · 08/12/2012 23:49

My tummy is soooo itchy. It was a bit in the last few weeks of pg, thought it was just the stretching. But worse now, basically where all my stretch marks are is red and itchy. Trying not to scratch. Anyone know what I could put on it to help?

TheDetective · 08/12/2012 23:55

Milton, fab idea, thank you Sophia. Use it all the time in work on the tea stained mugs! No idea why my baby brain didn't think of it sooner Grin.

How are people drying baby clothes then? Maybe its that... most go on the airer under the stairs, if we need them in a rush, they go on the radiator. I haven't tumbled any of his stuff, but maybe they might come out nicer like the towels although I'm wary of stuff shrinking like my fecking pyjamas.

We've been feeding on and off since 7.30. Grrrr. He has had a few gaps for sleep, and an awake period where he stared at himself for a bit, then tried to eat himself in the mirror. But other than that it has been feed feed feed! Hmm

I want my bed!

Although not as much as Chunky probably...

FatimaLovesBread · 09/12/2012 00:02

Detective - we've just been putting ours on the clothes horse by the kitchen radiator. I've a batch to put away tomorrow so ill check what the next ones look like after another wash.

Ms being cranky, she's feeding then falling asleep but wanting feeding again as soon as she's moved.

Has anyone got a movement sensor monitor? Wasn't going to bother with any monitor but think my anxiety is kicking in, probably with the tiredness, so thinking of maybe getting one?

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 09/12/2012 00:02

Aiming to go to bed now. J fed last around half an hour ago so hoping he goes a good few hours now. I'm up late but had a lovely nap earlier on. No doubt ill be back on here sooner than I think!

TheDetective · 09/12/2012 00:07

Fatima our two are the same age, perhaps its a growth spurt Grin. He is waking up after being put down, we aren't managing 30 minutes between feeding! He has just come off again now, going to cuddle, and put down in 20... and attempt bed. I think he may have other ideas though!

I have 2 bottles of 4oz of ebm in the fridge. I think Daddy might be getting an early morning wake up call tomorrow!

Please let me have at least 3 hours sleep now... pleeeeeeeeease!

glendathegoodwitch · 09/12/2012 00:15

Evening ladies - just found the mumsnet iPhone app after struggling for months trying to keep up - there's an app that puts me right where I left off - genius!!!

detective Dottie has dry skin to so bought some oilatum today after your success - hurray she's not as flaky now!!! Any ideas how to get rid of her gunky eyes?? Had them since birth and we use cooled boiled water with balls of cotton wool for one wipe but they are still very yellow and gunky Hmm!!

catbag omg how v v scary!!!

I have such up and down days depending on how much sleep I get - fortunately today is a good day and feeding is finally painfree wooooooo which I thinks helps greatly!!!

Going to try and get lil poppet down fingers x'd lol
