Ah, no rest for the wicked...one hour after being put down from the mammoth all you can eat evening, babypriscilla is awake and rooting! An hour!

TheDetective · 02/12/2012 01:23

Thanks Chunky. From reading it seems it's boob size that is to blame. I should have known this! Saying that I really only see bf in the first few days. Haven't done community since student days! One forgets these things!

Oscar went in to the Moses basket after the last feed. To celebrate I made DP a happy man Grin.

Damn episiotomy. Leaves a very frustrated Detective Hmm.

Pffffft!

TheDetective · 02/12/2012 02:20

We are just finishing an hour feed... Was hoping he would be settled longer after the 2 hour feed. Oh well!

TheDetective · 02/12/2012 02:23

Spoke too soon! On other boob now! D'oh!

Peaky1 · 02/12/2012 02:26

JJ has been feeding almost constantly since 8pm and is inconsolable when we try to settle him. I swear its bollocks about the small stomachs. Where the bloody hell does it all go?!

rowingdowntheriver · 02/12/2012 02:35

Morning! Disappointed to be here as was hoping for a 3 am wake up rather than a 2pm one. DS is nearly 6 weeks and still seems to only be able to get for 3 hours max between feeds. Tonight it seems like 2 hours.

Detective, if it makes you feel any better, we had quite a few pretty much all night feeds here in the first few weeks. Was exhausting and I just got through it the best I could which usually meant having him in the bed with me. He now wakes to feed for about 15 mins then gets back in his Moses basket. I presume he was just increasing my milk supply on the all nighters.

peaky, only bathing advice I have is not to roll back his foreskin when cleaning his willy. There is no need and you could also do him some damage. Just clean the outside of it.

TheDetective · 02/12/2012 02:46

Peaky, it goes in one end and is shat out t'other Grin. We have had 2 nappy changes this feed alone Hmm. It's like one in, one out here!!

Oscar just wants mummy cuddles. You can eventually get him in the basket but you have to time it well. About 30 mins after a feed. But who is staying awake for 30 mins after a feed in the middle of the night?! Not me! Grin

Time to attempt sleep...!

Chunkychicken · 02/12/2012 03:42

Just started the 1st official night feed (i.e one where I'm woken up by him) and after a nappy change (its also a constant thing here - I swear, far more than my DD at the same age) I checked my app - over 4hrs between feeds. Thank goodness!! Think my nips would have dropped off otherwise...

GTbaby · 02/12/2012 03:58

Crazy day. LO went to see Santa at westfeilds. The place was jam packed. Discovered the family room! Never knew they existed. Very impressed. Saw simone at the changing station with a box for their wet wipes. Dh Keeps tearing the seal on the packets so need to buy a box. Grin. Great place to see what other mums have!

Chunkychicken · 02/12/2012 04:40

Huggies do 'travel packs' of wipes in a hard carry case for out & about GT and you can get a Pampers wipes dispenser for in the house too.

pikz · 02/12/2012 05:25

Please go to sleep babypikz mummy can barely string a sentence together and has just had to look up what day it is...

Not bad... If the last feed hadnt taken so long... 4 hours since start of last feed! Just a shame feed lasted over an hour!!

Peaky1 · 02/12/2012 07:18

Would you believe there was not a drop of poo in his nappy in the night or just now (they were wet, mind). Feeding him now and his stomach is churning audibly Hmm. Poor, kid I wish I could help him more.

Peaky1 · 02/12/2012 07:19

He has fallen asleep again after 5 mins feeding...ugh

Dixiebell · 02/12/2012 07:32

Okay remind me, when do I get to actually sleep again?! Didn't actually do that much feeding overnight but Ted would only really settle lying on my chest...Xmas Hmm

GTbaby · 02/12/2012 07:43

pik Dixie Sad I was complaining to DH last night how I have not had a full night sleep for 7 weeks. N soon ill be saying no full night sleep for 1 year! Lol.
I'm going to wait s few months n then ask my mum if she will look after him over night. Think I'm going to go bk to sleep now Wink until nxt feed.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/12/2012 08:05

I've ordered some nursing bras from M&S they should be coming tomo or tues can't wait, the ones from last time are too small my nipples come out!

We dtd last night, nice to know I still function and it felt ok, def felt a bit more roomy though, hope that gets better!

horseylady · 02/12/2012 08:53

Morning mummies!!!

We had a less snuffly night though he's still eating less than he was and falling asleep on the bottle. Just want him to feel better soon. I also want to feel better soon so were lying in bed cuddling, listening to both men snoring!!!

I think Tits had a similar prob to this; yesterday my blessing ramped up again. It had been down to barely anything but yesterday, quite a lot came out as I wiped after a wee, including a long 'stringy' bit Xmas Blush. It didn't smell particularly offensive, but it might possibly have had a slight yellow/green tinge. Seems to be back to reduced (but still there) bleeding - like the middle to end of your period, as pads are lasting all day, not just a couple of hours, and its just a reddish-brown colour. I don't feel ill (other than the cold I have caught from the DCs). Should I see the GP? Going to get DCs weighed at a clinic tomorrow, so could ask a HV then, but guess they'll just say, see your GP...Xmas Confused

Chunkychicken · 02/12/2012 09:53

Oh, & DS is 3wks today.

StuntNun · 02/12/2012 10:05

We have had a terrible night. J refused the breast since 1 a.m. He was putting the nipple in his mouth but not even trying to latch on, just squealing in pain with his arms and legs going. I got up at 5 and sterilised the pump so mum managed to get 2 oz milk into him at about 6ish. Then he slept for a bit and took a small breastfeed just now but he was still quite fussy. I have no idea what's wrong with him - he seemed hungry but in too much pain to feed. There's no sign of thrush in his mouth and I tried a few positions in case he had pain anywhere else. DH thought reflux or overactive letdown but he's been sleeping lying flat in his cot so it can't be reflux, and he wasn't latching on at all so there wasn't any letdown. I'm so tired now, don't know how I'll get through the day. DH is even worse off as he's just back from Japan so he's jet lagged too. We all had to tiptoe round him yesterday as he was in such a bad mood from no sleep.

Have a look on Kellymom stunt & look for nursing strike. It might have some suggestions on why & how it might be helped. So stressful though, when you know they're hungry.

A fussed about his 6am feed and had lot of wind. He continued being noisy in his sleep too!!

StuntNun · 02/12/2012 10:22

Thanks for the tip Chunky, is that what it's called? It's terrible to see him in pain like that. He has had another feed since but just a 'snack ' IYSWIM. Maybe he's coming down with something.
