tittle of this thread seems to be working a bit. G now sleeping through about 50/60% of the time. She woke at 6am this morning and went back to sleep. i couldn't believe it!

Pooka the playgroup also operates in the summer holidays and I think is also on a Monday so will let you know the details. We must get together some timeanyway and introduce the babies!

Dh didn't get the job in Glasgow but we managed to get an offer on the house. Think we've ptrobably missed it now as we're not in a position to move. Still hoping to move up to Scotland but if it doesn't happen could be just as happy down here (but without the babaysitters/family!)

We're doing egg painting later all ready to roll down the hill tomorrow (I think this is a scottish thing as no-ne else does it round here!)

Have a lovely easter all

wabbitintheheadlamps · 15/04/2006 22:51

Oh I'll be thinking of you Rhumba and your desire to move to Scotland... I fell in love (with someone and with the place... lethal combination Grin) and have had a yen to move there since... despite demise of relationship!

Far Far away from london sounds good to me! Grin Grin

Have lovely Easter Days everyone!

I've been thinking of NO Longer STM recently.... wonder how she's doing with her precious cargo... If you do drop in on us over the hols pet - thinking of you xxx

Mummyhill - Suggest a Friday and we'll meet - I don't mind doing the travelling if it's easier for you xx

Can you tell??? I'm still feeling SOOOO much better Smile C and N are well too, C's been tryig out a borrowed high chair for size - he's still dwarfed by it so investing in an insert when I buy will be necessary. His appetite is huge now, he'll eat almost anything too, lump, smooth, no problem Smile

Love to everyone xxx

wabbitintheheadlamps · 15/04/2006 22:56

Nikkinoo - got your mail and have replied. So looking forward to meeting little Lottie...

would love to meet you all! Any one still up for me making dates in North and South for summer?

Now I'm getting through this rough patch I'll be able to bend my thoughts towards it.

We've not heard from RZ or Bubble lately either - they've defected Sad

PiccadillyCircus · 16/04/2006 13:07

Happyt Easter everyone Smile.

Alice was very well behaved at church - she fell asleep on DH's knee Smile. DS also well behaved although needed a bit more entertaining (the Truck book went down well).

I think I'v eseen RZ on other threads recently - some time I will have a more in depth search for people who we havemn't seen for a while.

Only one waking last night Smile.

Hello!

Hope everyone is having a good easter.

Just off to see dh's family.

Yes I was wondering how nolongersingleteenager was doing too.

Yes - I'm up for a meet up wabbitt - probably the south one - but I like travelling!

wabbitintheheadlamps · 17/04/2006 18:28

Hello!

Oh excellent SR - will get the diary out Smile

I've spent over 3 hours attempting a 15 mile journey
today Angry had to abandon the original expedition and find alternative entertainment - Compton Verney where I've discovered they have a Van Gough exhibition until June and the house itself is set in Capability Brown grounds... beautiful Smile

hope no one else has been stuck in traffic xxx

pooka · 17/04/2006 20:16

Hi all.
I should be around for a meet up too - though prob a southern version.
All well here though 7 months of hoicking Tom around on my hip means I have wrenched my shoulder somehow. Not surprising - had him weighed last week and he's 21 pounds which is what dd weighed at a year.
Has managed forwards crawling movement butnot very far yet! It's torturous to watch - such effort involved. Complains when sitting so launches forwards. then complains when he's on his front so rolls over. then complains that he's on his back. Can't win at the moment :)
Hope everyone had a fun easter. We went to my mother's house which was lovely - dd the star of the show and Tom v. well behaved too. Excellent as they are the only grandchildren and my brother's girlfriend is lovely with them - like having a baby sitter there. And my brothers are keen too.
Pre-school back on this week. Hurrah!

mummyhill · 17/04/2006 20:36

We spent Easter Morning with Mil and the rest of their family then went up to lunch at my mothers where my Aunt proceded to upset us by telling us that or children are fat. Honestly I copuld of belted her one. Neither of the children is fat they are stocky well built little things but not fat. The she started critisizing me over my weight even though she is fully aware of the fact that I have thyroid problems.

We have had a lovely day today. We went to Ash End Farm and had a wonderful time feeding the goats, sheep, lambs, rabits etc. Only one thing spoilt it a staff bull terrier got into Mils garden and attacked two of the cats last night, luckily they are both going to be ok.

LadyLazarus · 18/04/2006 09:10

HELLOOOOO!! Grin

I'm still alive! Have been out of action, web-wise, for a while, and have been lurking on here for a bit but am back to say a big hello to everyone! Hello to all the 'newcomers' altho I feel like a bit of a one myself now!

We've moved house now, living in Essex but not very keen so might end up moving back to London next year! aargh!

DD is doing well, 7 months already now and changing every day. Can sit up and is trying to get into the crawling position, but can't seem to shift one of her legs out of the way to do it properly! Likes to shout 'dadada' all day long so I'm sure the neighbours love us already. Taking her for a weighing this morning, but I think she might bust the scales! Everyone keeps on telling me 'oh she's big for 7 months'... Is anyone else having feeding problems? DD will eat breakfast no probs, but then lunch + dinner can be troublesome, in that she won't even open her mouth to try any. Very frustrating. Some days she's fine, then others she won't eat anything other than breakfast and her milk...

Where is the 'South' meet-up planned?

mummyhill · 18/04/2006 10:47

Welcome back LadyL.

Arghh school doesn't start agan till Monday and i am going mad. DH went back to work this morning and dd is driving me insane already!!!!

mummyhill · 18/04/2006 12:36

Splashed out and bought a bumbo for D. He was scaring me in the bouncey chair as he can pull himself up and tip it over and although he can sit for a little while he soon topples over or slides across the floor. He loves his new chair though and it is so portable. Dh had a fit over the cost but my sister will probably get some use out of it as well and I can allways sell it on when we have both finished with it.

mummyhill · 18/04/2006 18:17

Just got an update on the cats. Eldest one will be ok but the other one is either going to have to be put down or have his leg amputated. Poor little blighter. I think that they are going for the amputation but it will apparently mean that he has to become a house cat for the rest of his days.

beatie · 18/04/2006 19:29

Hi everyone. Hurrah for Pre-school starting up again here tomorrow. Grin

I've had dh home for two weeks and a further week of school holidays and he is ready to put some distance between dd1 and himself. Now he knows what I have to deal with - alone! I think she's getting worse. I know it's mostly related to the loss of attention to Alice but it's terribly wearing. I'm going to try and give her 30 minutes of alone mummy-time everyday. Now that Alice is starting to get the hang of daytime naps (at almost 7 months!) I hopefully will have a period of uninterrupted time to give dd1.

Alice was weighed today. She's 17lb 4oz. Some food must be getting in as she's gaining plenty of weight. Feeding her is a bit hit and miss. She's not keen on vegetables... not fingerfood sized vegetables for self-feeding, and not mashed and offered on a spoon. In fact she'll only take yoghurt off a spoon. Other than that she eats bananas, pears, bread.... oh boy, she loves to eat bread and toast. Sometimes I manage to melt some cheese onto it and one day I cunningly spread on some spinach with cream cheese and it went in. :)

Mostly, she'll eat the bread bare!

What's everyone else eating.

mummyhill · 18/04/2006 21:15

D will eat anything as long as it is still a fine puree. So any left overs from tea as long as it isn't heavily spiced gets thrown in the blender, portioned up and frozen or bunged in fridge for the next day.

mummyhill · 18/04/2006 21:16

Hit post too soon. Meant to add that I think it is probably laziness on his part as dd was eating finger food by now.

wabbitintheheadlamps · 18/04/2006 23:45

Hi Lady L Smile

I was wondering about Kew Gardens... anyone been?
Would it be possible for everyone to get there? My other thought was somewhere in Central London, but cost of a nice lunch somewhere tiddler friendly might be pretty high... Any good suggestions would be welcomed. As for Kew I'm going to search for a web page, just wonder what lunch and changing facilities would be like there...

For the North meet Chester might be a good compromise - it's got a lovely atmosphere and plenty of historic interest and wouldn't be too far for the far flung girls from Liverpool way to travel - easy to get to for us midlanders too Smile

Now, does anyone who's interested in meeting have holidays booked? I'm thinking of meets in the first two weeks of July... say SOUTH MEET: Weds 5th of JULY.............and............NORTH MEET: Friday 14th of JULY.

Any problems with these dates and we can start Juggling things around Smile

sarahhal · 19/04/2006 09:15

Good morning! Hope all are well.

Peace today as DS1 at nursery and DH gone into school to run some revision sessions and it's bliss. Been very hectic over Easter this year.

Only six weeks then back to work - was meant to be going back next Monday originally but so so glad I've extended it.

Am very interested in the Chester meet up Wabbit but will have to find out which days I'll be working when I go back. I'm hoping to do Mon, Tue and Wed like I did before but it's not sorted yet.

mummyhill · 19/04/2006 09:19

Chester sounds great not sure about dates yet though will let you know.

Rhumba · 19/04/2006 10:32

would be up for a southern meet up Kew gardens is lovely but traffic and parking can be fun. If wanted more central meet up what about hyde/regents park or kensington gardens (they could have a crawl round the fountain. Parking even worse here but is a bit more central!

Beatie -good to here the naps are coming, I would spend hours pushing DS round the street trying to get him to sleep and it's exhausting - he'd get so cranky and no-one ever gives you symphathy if they sleep well at night (which he did). DD sleeps well during the day but then is still waking at night for a feed (which i'm not convinced she needs as she does sleep through too)

G still fairly keen on purees, I can get away with the odd lump but that's all. She's only just started putting things in her mouth and so far despite an enticing selection of gourmet snacks has resevered this for DS' toys (help!) Had her weighed about 2 weeks ago and she was just over 7 kilos.

PiccadillyCircus · 19/04/2006 13:36

I'd like to come to a Southern meet, but Wed 5th July not good as it os my forst week back at work Sad.

Tuesdays and Fridays would be good for me Smile.

Hello!

Hello Lady L - Rachel loves to shout dadada too!

My shoulders playing up too! Sorry about your crazy aunt Mummyhill - some people!

Like Kew Wabbitt - used to live near there - before I came back to Bedford to be near the parents for sitters!

Its mad here - work, Rachel, school holidays and America in 10 days time!

wabbitintheheadlamps · 20/04/2006 12:23

Hello - I'd love to see Kew too, will anyone be using public transport? it may be more convenient to meet in London if so but I must say parking aside, Kew's at the top of my list Smile

I'm all excited and happy... I know it's so soon after ending my relationship - but I've met someone sooooo lovely, I can hardly contain myself. We met on campus and he's now on holiday visiting relatives in Scotland - he was brought up on the Western Isles, he's strong and warm and intelligent and affectionate and EEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I'm loving it!

There, I've blurted it out! I knew I wouldn't be able to keep a lid on it! Smile Smile Smile
