Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hurrah, MN finally has an Android app! Hopefully it'll be less likely to try and lose my messages than the mobile browser pages were..

Better ish night here. Originally decided I'd only feed Iz twice, making her go four hours between feeds and bouncing her to sleep. Worked with one wakeup before 11.30, none between then and 3.30 (from her anyway - I still woke up, of course). Sadly she just woke up screaming and gnawing at my fingers, bouncing to sleep but waking up every I put her down. Think it's teeth as she's pulling her ears too, so have gone with the nurofen, and am feeding to help it down.

Hope everyone else's nights are going ok.

musicalmrs · 01/12/2012 06:08

Oh no Too :-( At least it's only two hours til 8 (now, anyway)..

Jen, yay for N! I found that as soon as I gave her something loved, Iz would guzzle it top, even just after we'd started weaning.

jaggythistle · 01/12/2012 10:48

hi all. way behind as usual so need to catch up.

wee DS2 is almost better, i enjoyed a lie in till after 7 today- yay for the weekend. he slept a bit better but i kept him in beside me for ages, just for the cuddles Blush it was nice to see the smile on his face when he woke up this morning! :)

for some reason i decided to work out how much milk i was expressing at work . it turns out that I'm doing about a litre a week Shock just by doing two 4-5 oz bottles a day. mental.

i seem to be getting this cold now that everyone else is better though. meh.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 01/12/2012 10:56

Sorry to hear about all the non-sleeping babies. Little A is still firmly in that camp, having kept me up all last night (despite being a little angel for her GPs the previous two nights) Hmm

I'm currently on a train to the wedding of one of my best friends! Yay! Very excited. DD is with her GPs all day and I'm a bridesmaid. Soooooo happy for my friend! So if you hear from me again today it'll probably be very late and somewhat tipsy! Hee hee!

Have a fabulous day No Brookers!

Ha Ha Ha

DH says we can't have one SadGrin

TooImmatureMincePies · 01/12/2012 12:13

What is it, Biscuits? I just got the John Lewis front page.

Have a great day, Scream! Sounds ace!

M got tired again at 7, so I put her back to bed. She lasted precisely 20 minutes. Hmm I took her into my bed and she slept for 2 hours there. Waah, I have created a monster! DH took her out this morning after breakfast but, having got up for breakfast, I then couldn't go back to sleep. Rubbish. Now I need to get her to sleep in her own bed and not in mine. Sad Bad baby.

TooImmatureMincePies · 01/12/2012 12:21

I've just bought a Ewan the Dream Sheep. Please let it help!

Biscuitsandtinsel · 01/12/2012 14:28

Try this but if it doesn't work again when you get to the JL homepage put in Scandi-chic reindeer head Smile

I fancy one above my fireplace.....

scarletfingernail · 01/12/2012 16:42

Grin love it Biscuits

Yay for DS2 being better Jaggy. I hope the cold's not too nasty for you. Mine and DD's in on the way out at last. Poor DS is still covered in a spotty rash. Our weekend plans have been cancelled because of it Sad

I hope you're having a lovely time at the wedding Scream. Post a pic of you in your bridesmaid dress if you don't mind, I'd love to see.

The highlight of this weekend for me now will be watching Strictly and the Jungle final tonight. [saddo emotion]

Too I feel your pain!!

I'm shivering on a cold train platform now, but it's worth it! My friend is married!! Yay! Such a fantastic day!

Scarlet I don't have a specific bridesmaid dress. My friend is very non-traditional, she wore a gorgeous 1920's wedding dress (calf-length flapper style), and all the bridesmaids wore their own individual dresses. We just had matching corsages, plus we got to meet at the hotel before the ceremony to help the bride get dressed and drink lots of champagne!

Hope all the mini No Brookers are behaving themselves tonight! My LO has apparently been having a little party of her own since 8.30 Confused

DreamingOfPeace · 02/12/2012 08:40

We want a pic anyway scream!!

Up hourly with tike-tastic DT1 but at least he fed back to sleep , groan... They'll all get it in the end though Brookers. I insist. No, really, I do. I've decided 16 months. I know several people who's children 'got' sleeping at around then. So long as there's an end point and all... :)

I'm knackered which no doubt means whingey fishwifey again too.

TooImmatureMincePies · 02/12/2012 08:53

16 months????

Last night was better, in that M slept in 2 hour intervals, but fed to sleep properly in between and didn't get up every 10 mins, which was a great improvement over the previous night. She'd had a v busy day - went to Ikea (again) with my sister and a couple of friends, then went back to my sister's and M spent ages playing with her real auntie and all her honorary aunties.

Scream, sounds like a great night! Yy to pics.

Scarlet, do you know what DS' rash is? Brooking that it's lots better this morning.

Biscuits, Grin at the reindeer head! I think you should get one.

Biscuitsandtinsel · 02/12/2012 09:49

Quick question, those of you with babies that are 'weaned' ie on 3 meals a day, how much milk do they still have?

Will post more later.

Also Scream post pictures. That's an order (please Smile)

PetWoman · 02/12/2012 10:07

Biscuits I'm still really uncertain about how much milk DS gets or should get. But I still bf morning, about twice during the day, and bedtime plus a million times in the night and he has a bottle of formula in the evening (7oz) so I presume that's enough? The formula carton says 21oz daily for weaned babies but I guess bf quantities are different?

Scarlet :( about DS's rash and your spoiled plans for the weekend. Hope you enjoyed some quality TV and DS is better today.

Scream , Dream , Too , Musical and everyone else with wakeful babies - big hugs and Brew . 16 months seems a little long to wait though, Dream !

DS's malady seems to have cleared up - he's regained his appetite and stopped producing so many dirty nappies - phew! But I still bring him into bed with us every night whenever I can't face the thought of getting up again - sometimes that's 9.30pm Blush and sometimes 5am, but most often around 2am. We have a memory foam mattress but I think he's ok on it now. Also he continues to wake the instant I put him down for a daytime nap (this phase has lasted 2 months and counting...) but I've decided I quite like holding him and MNing or reading, if no car or buggy ride is planned.

Scream the wedding sounds fab!

Jaggy hope you're feeling better.

Jen well done to N!

Happy Advent, everyone! Calendars at the ready... and... OPEN! (OK, I know it started yesterday, but I didn't have time to post :) )

TooImmatureMincePies · 02/12/2012 10:35

Biscuits, M has a bf first thing, then one before her nap and usually one when she wakes up again. Then we try to leave it until bedtime, but sometimes if we're out and dinner's going to be late she has another one late afternoon/early evening. Then she has lots during the night. Hmm If I follow my new plan and start trying to put her down for an afternoon nap again then she'll get more feeds then.

scarletfingernail · 02/12/2012 15:48

DD has 2 meals a day and 24oz of milk over the day which she has as 3x8 oz FFs.
1st FF is about 8.30 am, then lunch about 12, 2nd FF about 1.30, dinner about 5, then last FF about 7. That's it until 8.30 the next morning when I have to wake her up to start again Shock

I know it doesn't seem like much does it? She's still not having breakfast but she's honestly not bothered about having any more than she currently is. Not really sure how to boost her appetite but she's still gaining weight on the 2nd centile so maybe she's just meant to be a titch. She's still on the 50th for height though so hopefully she'll be tall and slim like her Dad and brother not average height and dumpy like me

How much is DS2 having Biscuits?

I'm procrastinating again while DH and DS are running round the garden. We're hoping some fresh air will sort out DS, he's in such a sorry state with his skin. I think it's a number of things Pet. He's had molluscum contagiosum for 18 months which is currently infected and angry, plus excema all over his arms which also seems to have flared up, plus this spotty red pin prick rash all over his face which are clueless about Confused
It's getting worse by the day rather than better so I suspect we'll be back at the docs tomorrow . Some of his spots on his arms are blistered, some have popped and some are extremely sore. I feel very sorry for him and have no idea what more I can do other than keep slathering him in emollient. I've Googled everything I know which is associated with a rash and it doesn't look like anything on there. Which is good. I wonder if the rash on his face is some sort of reaction to the infection he's currently got in his molluscum on his arms and legs. The GP's not interested in the molluscum, which I understand, but the state of him is beyond ridiculous now. He's had to miss his swimming lesson today and has been off playgroup since Wednesday because I have no idea if he's contagious or not.

Sorry for epic post there about my DS's health yet again! I'm dreading it when DD starts getting all these things. This is why I can't have any more DC, I'm a nervous wreck!

Eczema is always worst in the winter Scarlet. I look awful at the moment and it is all over my boobs.

TooImmatureMincePies · 02/12/2012 17:13

Am test-driving the breastpump, Biscuits! It feels funny. Oh, if I press it harder into my boob it works better. And lean forwards at a 45 degree angle. 6 minutes pumping = 1oz, so far. Still, is much easier than hand-pumping.

TooImmatureMincePies · 02/12/2012 17:54

Ah, have worked out that going slowly actually works better. I had it pumping away furiously but actually a slower pace seems to bring the milk down better. Anyone got any tips?

TooImmatureMincePies · 03/12/2012 01:59

I think M hates me. Why won't she sleep? I have tried drugging her with Calpol Blush just in case there is a medical cause for a wide awake chirpy baby at 2am, but I think it's a lost cause. I had some myself as well, and I spilt quite a lot down her sleeping bag because my hand shook as I poured it out.

hohohohawthers · 03/12/2012 07:55

f is punishing me. I'm back at work today and I've had maybe 4 hours sleep the last hour of which was on his floor. not feeling quite so rested and calm today. more exhausted and on the edge...Shock

DreamingOfPeace · 03/12/2012 09:16

Snap. S is punishing me too... Miserable here.

DreamingOfPeace · 03/12/2012 10:10

Good luck today hawthers!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 03/12/2012 10:58

Echoing Dream! Little A is definitely punishing me for some unknown transgression. Good luck getting back into the swing of things Hawthers. If necessary stick an ambiguously titled out-of-office meeting in your diary this afternoon and then go for a snooze in the contemplation room! Hee hee hee! Wink

Ah ha, DD's finally settling! Nap time for me! Blush
