Congratulations Stacks ! Thanks Great name (same as my DS Wink )!

Jen I'm sorry but I have no idea - DS hasn't really choked on stuff much so far. Think Dream's S did for a while but now feeds himself - maybe she'll have some wise words?

Congratulations Stacks Thanks a Christmas brooking baby, how lovely. I know someone else who had a baby girl Christmas morning. Good to hear everything's going well, l'll look forward to hearing more when you get home.

How old is she now Jen Maybe stick with the sloppy stuff for a bit longer then try again in a couple of weeks? I'm a bit rubbish with that, I had DS on slop til he was a year old for the same reason!

So any ideas how we can get N to eat without choking? I was really hoping to BLW but we always end up having to slap her to dislodge the food. Yesterday it was a carrot stick :( All she can successfully eat is stage 1 pouches and fromage frais

Quick message to say baby Thomas was born on Christmas morning by a (not very) emergency CS.

He's lovely, healthy and very well behaved. Breastfeeding is going well, and we should both be home tomorrow.

I got an Amazon voucher too from DH, to be fair he got let down by a seller of Onesies who didn't bother telling him that they were out of stock and had refunded his money.

Hello Scarlet ! Glad it all went well. I know what you mean about vouchers - I got a spa voucher from DH. But to be fair to him, I didn't really have any idea what I wanted, and I will enjoy the spa!

Excellent Christmas sleeping from Scream's A and Jaggy's boys - hurrah!

Musical glad Iz had a fun day, but sorry about the cold. We use a Karvol vaporiser, Olbas oil and Vicks.

We had a good Christmas but DS isn't very well (temperature, snotty, unhappy) so we had to spend time upstairs with him and missed out on the Christmas pudding and opening some presents. Mum was cross that we hadn't opened them all but by time we could rejoin everyone, my dad had disappeared into his study and then mum insisted on watching Downton all evening.

DH has now set off on his long drive home with the dog and all our presents (which he had to open by himself this morning - oops). DS is dozing restlessly on me. Hope he perks up today. Feel a bit sad that DH has gone, actually. Never mind - we'll be back home in a few days and all together again.

Pomme hope there was a surprise present for you that was too big to fit under the tree!

Did everyone else have a good day? Xmas Smile

Morning!

We had an excellent day yesterday. My Christmas dinner was a success, both DC behaved perfectly and DS was thrilled with all of his new toys. We're relaxing on our own today which I'm really looking forward to.

I hope Iz feels better soon Musical. Karvol vaporisers are very good if you can get hold of one.

Ouch re the big bum comment pomme. The romance is dead in this house too. DH gave me an iTunes voucher and and Amazon voucher for my present. I'm grateful but a bit miffed at the lack of thought and effort compared to the gifts he used to give.

Scary journey on the way up north there Hawthers. I hope you're having a good time. Plenty of Wine if not...

Merry Christmas brookers. I hope wonderful days were had all round?

Iz was spoilt rotten - loved having her grandparents here all day (I hardly saw her, as is right!), got tonnes of toys, ate loads and stayed up late.

Up now as she's full of cold, though perking up I think. We have her mattress tilted which has helped. Any brooking baby cold remedy recommendations? I seem to remember there are vapourisers or something similar available? Will be raising Boots in the morning. She keeps waking up coughing, or crying because she's so full of phglem :-(

I too am cold ridden -felt ok ish throughout Christmas Day but now feel really shocking. We have to visit FIL and step MIL today - not looking forward to the 1.5hr journey either way. Maybe I'll join Iz in the back!

Hope everyone has nice Boxing Days planned. I'm looking forward to everything calming down a bit tomorrow..!

good morning all and Happy Christmas!

I'm still the only one awake at 7.47am. Shock

and DS2 has only had 2 quick feeds since he eventually went to bed before 11. DH and i were lying awake at 6 am and he almost got up for breakfast. we managed to get back to sleep though.

c'mon bairns, mummy is excited to see you wake up, instead of grumpy for a change..

me too scarlet! DS1 is so excited even though he feels rubbish. can't wait to see him in the morning.

both boys still awake so we can't tramp about with presents yet. DS1 took himself off for a nap today, we were hoping he'd skip it and have an early night!

Happy Christmas for tomorrow everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone. I'm up to my armpits in Brussel sprouts and carrots etc so no time to name check.

I hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow wherever you are and all your beautiful babies have a lovely first Christmas and older DC have lots of fun.

DS is mega excited here for the first time. It really is great now he totally gets what's going on. I can't wait to see him tomorrow morning.

Merry Christmas lovely No Brookers!

Little A has given me my Christmas pressie early - last night she slept through from 10.45 to 7.45!!!! ShockShockShock She also made her Nana's Christmas by waving bye-bye as we set off for DH's Aunt's house, where we will be spending Xmas Day. So far only Daddy and Grandad have had the honour of a wave from little A, so my Mum got very excited. Grin

So sorry to hear about the problems with colds Jaggy and Scarlet. No brooking for a healthy Christmas for everyone!

Dream fingers crossed S figures out the daytime feeding / nighttime sleeping through ASAP!

Pomme how's Italy?!?! Hope the girls get into the Xmas spirit soon!!

I hope you've all been good this year! Otherwise Santa's not going to be visiting tonight! Grin

Dream obviously you are more experienced than me, but I just wonder (based on your description of short daytime feeds) whether S could be snacking in the day (because everything's so much more exciting than eating) and filling up at night? Think I read something about it on Kellymom? In which case he could genuinely be hungry. :( Think the advice was to do daytime feeds in a quiet, dark room to minimise distraction, but I can't see that being easy to manage with DD and B to look after. Confused And anyway you probably know all that already. :)

Jaggy and Musical hope the colds are miraculously gone by tonight!

Happy Christmas, Brookers!

oh pants musical, sounds like the same thing my boys have. it's taking ages to go away. DS1 is hardly eating and to top it off the poor wee thing had the runs this morning. :(

lovely neighbour just came round with presents for the boys, unfortunately DS1 was so excited that he opened his brother's when we weren't looking! i reckon he's going to pinch it too as it's something he was admiring at the shops yesterday...

Merry Christmas, lovely brookers! :)

Dream, could it be teeth with S? Iz didn't sleep well for about 3 months while her two teeth appeared, but as soon as they'd cut she immediately started sleeping better.

Tired here, as Iz has a cold :( Coughing away, and has had a sky high temperature too. Poor thing. Have finally got her to nap, so it's back to the Christmas baking for me!

ps - how did it get to Christmas eve so quick?

i am loving the Manduca dream. even with 20lb plus DS2 on my front it's nice and comfy. have tried DS1 on my back and will try DS2 when he's bigger. i like snuggling him and sniffing his fluffy hair too much right now. Grin

morning all. yet again I'm all awake with my boys all snoring, including DS2 snuggled beside me. he just can't settle in his cot with this cold so he's propped up beside me kinda in the crook of a v shaped pillow. i must look out the cot blocks to prop the cot up instead tonight.

DH getting the cold too now. this bug is really annoying, both boys had Calpol at bedtime and Nurofen at 2am as they were up all hot.

really hoping for a day of doing almost nothing. need to wrap some small presents that we got for DS1 and try to get DH to take one or both out for a walk so i can wrap his.

dream DS2 has seemed really grumpy and not into sleeping much as his teeth came through. his 4th one is coming through now and I'm hoping he'll feel a bit better. it's kinda hard to tell in between colds though!

i don't think me with only one sleepy baby can put you to shame, but the tiredness does suck. i struggled with shopping decisions as i just can't think.

should try to get back to sleep eh!

Bloody hell hawthers, sounds terrifying... So glad mrh has manouevering skills (I'd have been shit!)

Right, help Brookers. I've fallen off the sleep training wagon. S woke three already tonight, I've just fed him. Gave in and fed him at 10:30 (& then 2& then 6:30 last night too. Incidentally he woke poor B from his travel cot at 10:30 last night too, so I fed B, and he then slept til 7:45, little poppet) . so S, when he wakes, does this horrible nerve wracking screechy crying/ screaming. Can last ages without settling. Howls and screams if put down (no stopping after 2, or even 5 minutes here, we've left him that long just to give ourselves a quick break). So what do I do? He is, or at least was, Much better. It's still better than the every 60-90 minutes of pre the last week, but we seem to be going backwards now. He's totally spoon refusing, and also mostly refusing all solids. And most milk feeds I try to offer in the day (1 am 1pm plus morning and after bath, he feeds 30 sec to 2 min max) No idea why (??? Teeth, still none here) . Is he really hungry? What the heck should I do? is he just a horrible, sanity- destroying little tike?

I don't know what to do, or what I should be doing?

It needs to be something though, I'm so tired and its not fair on DD and b, or S, as it means I struggle to parent them the way I'd like to in the day as I'm so knackered.

Tempted by a Manduca now jaggy plus just read some fantastic comments on it on the tamba website. Your day sounds really good considering how tired you must have been. You put me to shame...

Oh, and biscuits up at 5am ironing?! . You're a bit too dedicated. There must be some kind of award for yhat?!

Sorry, me me me me me.

Hope all Christmas preparations are going well?
