spotty how do you get a Vip code for next?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/12/2012 22:25

They email me, probably because I have a massive account Grin

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 22/12/2012 22:26

Welcome soandsosmum my ds2 is 2 wks old in 15 minutes! Its gone way too quick!

He's still feeding! Shock I want biscuits though and can't reach them! DH is snoring Angry

HoneyMumandSon · 22/12/2012 22:54

Dammit. I though bf meant you could eat loads of crap and not worry. I need to keep eating but feel huge :(

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 22/12/2012 23:08

honey I feel the same but I'm not even thinking about it until after Xmas. No one should worry about what they eat over Xmas!

Secondsop · 22/12/2012 23:18

soandsosmum yup my little Z is past 3 weeks old and hasn't gained to his birthweight. He hasn't gained from day 5 but he did gain a tiny bit between weigh ins on Wednesday and yesterday so I'm hoping we've turned the corner. We are being monitored by the GP.

HoneyMumandSon · 22/12/2012 23:40

Grin stacey. I'm tryinng not to worry. I'm pretty much back - pre-preg jeans fit fine yo look at but feel a bit tight. Though not sure if that's just cos I'm used to stretchy waistbands! Just still feel fat. Had eating issues in the past so DH thinks its that resurfacing but I maintain um just still a bit fat. Everyone days 8 weeks isn't really long enough to be totally back but I feel like when they say that they're just being nice.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 23/12/2012 00:05

I have no hope of fitting into my jeans!

You're doing well honey!

WeeJo08 · 23/12/2012 00:18

Wow honey well done for being back in your pre-pregnancy jeans! That's terrific!

I'm still feeling enormous slightly curvaceous but have noticed such a change in my appetite - I have no desire to eat anywhere near how much I ate during pregnancy...my appetite has just disappeared. Have to keep reminding myself to eat to keep stores up for breastfeeding.

When did/do you guys plan to start exercising again? (If you like exercising) I have just been walking so far but think I want to do my Erin O'Brien DVD soon.

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 23/12/2012 00:18

Ah the joys of the diabetic diet, 6 data post birth I have 3lbs to lose and am in all my usual clothes or will be when. I wear something other than tracky bums Not sure if it was worth giving up cake for though!

In being naughty and mnetting when I'm supposed to be asleep! Will regret it when alarm goes off to tell me to pump in 1:30 though Xmas Confused

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 23/12/2012 00:22

Weejo I plan on leaving it til Feb. I love exercising but can get a bit over enthusiastic and think I need to give myself time to recover from labour/pregnancy (developed an ectopic heartbeat and palpitations which I can still feel). I have my 6 week check on 28 jan so am waiting for that

Secondsop · 23/12/2012 00:48

The diabetic diet did wonders for me as 2 days after birth I was a stone lighter than I was pre-pregnancy (but I was truly enormous to begin with). But I think I'd still have preferred the cake. I'm sure I've gained weight since then as I didn't have much of an appetite during the pregnancy but am bloody ravenous now.

Someone mentioned contraception - did the midwives talk to you about it after the birth? I thought that's what they did and was all set for a "ha ha what makes you think I'm ever going to have sex ever again after all that" gag. Not sure what I'll get when I do talk to someone about it - my blood pressure and BMI make the various pills difficult except for the mini pill I think, and I tried a mirena coil but didn't get on with it AT ALL. Bled for 6 months and it took 2 years for my periods to regulate after I had it removed.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2012 00:49

Argh bad night. Ds has been feeding on and off since half eight (mainly on) and just won't settle. I'm so fed up of feeding him now I told dp to go and make him a bottle of formula Sad I didn't want to give him formula at all. I've been up since half five though and I'm just so tired Sad

EggNogMichelle · 23/12/2012 01:31

Felix has colic and I have a migraine, this combination do not work well together! I have a deep desire to throw him at a wall. Went to Tesco at about 23.00 and now have infacol.

I didn't weigh myself in the last 8wks of pregnancy, or until a week after the birth, so not entirely sure how much I gained, but have lost 9lb since last Thursday and completely lost my appetite. Also had some eating issues in the past and my DM has been calling every day to check what iv been eating. Got into my low cut pre pregnancy jeans.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 23/12/2012 04:53

Oh eggnog I hope Felix let you sleep! Migraines are awful. Make sure you drink plenty of water.

Well I gave up trying to get Ethan into his own bed at about 1am. I made a nice safe place to co-sleep and he's just woken up! Shock

SeymoreInOz · 23/12/2012 07:23

Seconds I had the contraception chat after DS was born, I was really surprised because it wasn't mentioned after DD. The MW asked what I planned to use as contraception, to which I said "Er... a newborn baby?" She rolled her eyes but it was a genuine answer! It wasn't mentioned this time though.

What do they say about baths in the UK now? The MW here told me I can't have a bath until the bleeding has stopped for 7 days. I was really looking forward to soaking in a nice bath and not being suffocated by my bump!

EggNog DD had terrible colic, I really feel for you. We tried everything, but later found out she had reflux and cow's milk allergy. Everyone is different though and you will be offered loads of different advice/solutions.

WeeJo I really want to start running again but my boobs are so huge and sore I'm a bit scared to! I think I'll wait until the bleeding stops.

Bellaboo123 · 23/12/2012 07:35

Weejo I'm planning to get Xmas out the way and then start exercising, although I am back i my jeans but I've got a muffin top that wasn't there before!

When I was discharged from the MW she had the contraception chat with me so while I was at the gp for mastitis I got a prescription then.

Seconds I was told I can bath straight away but with no bubble bath just either lavender oil or salt in the water...bliss!

Eggnog, hope you and LO are feeling better, can DP help out st all to let you sleep?

WeeJo08 · 23/12/2012 08:03

Seconds I was told to wait 10 days before having a bath because of stitches but when I mentioned this to the health visitor (at about 10 days) she said that was ridiculous & that I could have had a bath straight away I've been having then since with salt & tea tree oil.

Re: contraception, we are just going to go with condoms as the pill took so bloody long to leave my system last time & totally arsed up my cycle. In fact, the month that I fell pregnant was the first month I had a normal cycle since coming off the pill...18 months previously!!! Just don't want to have to do that again! Speaking of DTD...has anybody tried yet? Confused

yuletopian99 · 23/12/2012 08:54

Hi; thanks for info re bounty reps.. Just never realised they let sales people into post natal!

Sorry to lurk when I'm still waiting (40+ 8 now,( but interesting to learn what's in store.. Exercise wise am keen to get going again as soon as lack of sleep/injuries permit. contraception wise was thinking mini pill, as we're hoping to start trying for dc2within a year of this one's birth, unless the experience radically changes our minds!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 23/12/2012 08:56

weejo I'm waiting until after the 6 wk check for exercise as my Zumba instructor won't let me back until then! Lol

As for dtd hahahahaha, no time. I should prob buy some condoms just in case I suppose Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2012 09:02

I don't know what I'll to about contraception. The pill doesn't agree with me and ds is a result of the mirena coil! I would like to go back on the injections but not sure if you can when breastfeeding.

Bellaboo123 · 23/12/2012 09:11

Spotty MW said I cld have injection when bf and then doctor said I couldn't...!

No way DTD yet...that can wait!

How's everyone's pelvic floor feeling?

Barbeasty · 23/12/2012 09:13

Seymore the midwife ran me a bath as soon as I was stitched back together, and on my first home visit I was told to have a bath every day to make sure the stitches are kept clean.

We had a bad night last night. But not because of the baby! DD had a nightmare and woke around 11, and was convinced there were spiders climbing from the gap between her bed and the wall. She only went off at 4am, with DH sleeping over the gap.

Anthony was an angel and slept through it all, just waking once for a feed.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2012 09:18

I had an awful night. I really think I ran out of milk as all ds wanted to do was feed which was fine. But then by about twelve he would latch, suck a bit then keep pulling off and fussing etc. two oz of formula and he went straight off Sad

Secondsop · 23/12/2012 09:24

seymore the midwife told me I SHOULD have a bath with tea tree or lavender oil (mixed with a little milk and put in the bath), to help everything heal. She did say not to do it in the hospital (this was when I was about to go back in for blood pressure problems) because the bath might not be clean but that it was fine to do it at home in fact actively encouraged it. I haven't bathed yet though because luxuriating in a bath has been a bit hard to fit in what with the baby.

My mum said that when I was born they were encouraged to have salt baths to help with healing, and they had salt in hospital for that purpose.
I have some Dead Sea salt - has anyone had a salt bath and is it nice or does it hurt like billyo?
