Blimey dream that's a day and a half! Good luck with it all Smile

My parents are having both boys today and DH and I are going shopping, on our own! We might even go out for lunch Grin. We were hoping we could fit in watching Skyfall but no can do as my parents have to go to a firework thing at 5 and since the film is quite long we wouldn't have any time for shopping for my birthday present. Hey ho I'll take lunch and shopping Grin

oo biscuits have an amazing time, sounds lush. dream your day sounds cool too but busy! Just relax, doesn't matter if everyone is there when you get abck anyway. You miss out the stressful welcome, get a drink bit like that too Grin

A slept from 6.30-4am last night! Shame that dh woke me at 2am and I hadn't gone back to sleep by the time dd1 woke up at 3am.... Bloody family Grin

Good luck with the amazing cakes and speeches scream!

Biscuitsandtea · 03/11/2012 08:51

I'd have been none too pleased with DH pomme! He owes you Grin

jaggythistle · 03/11/2012 09:40

that sounds like a mad day dream - good luck!

DH woke you up pomme?! grr!

have a nice day biscuits. :)

we're away to see the PIL and i believe fish and chips planned for tea.

ach, i thought I'd try the sheep. seeing as I've been on autopilot just pick up baby, feed baby, fall asleep with baby replace baby. i think he just enjoyed playing for a while! he was up again later and i gave up and snuggled him in beside me.

I'm actually feeling quite good that I've cracked co-sleeping a bit. if I'm having a bad night with the wee one once I'm back working at least i know i can get a lie down and sleep for (hopefully) a few hours.

yeah, a week on Monday at 8am I'll be back at work. no doubt looking a bit stunned. i can't remember if i posted that i went into work to see my boss? R happily drank his ebm for DH while i was out, yay! i now know all my shifts till Christmas time and expressing facilities are sort of organised.

i will probably be able to post hello while expressing!

jaggythistle · 03/11/2012 09:44

oh and the poo finally arrived. i leaned in to kiss R while he was playing in the high chair and thought he was a bit stinky.

however there was no poo there and he instead proceeded to do a huge one just after i opened his nappy. :-O luckily i still had the nappy underneath!

PetWoman · 03/11/2012 10:29

Hello! I'm back from Wales! Missed you all!

Scream hope the ceremony is fabulous and everything you dreamed of. I'm sure your cakes will be scrumptious. Sounds like a good thing EBIL won't be there - and so typical that he chose not to stay for it.

Biscuits hope you have a lovely day! And don't forget to report back on your present!

Dream sounds quite hectic! Hope the twins have a good nap at some point so you have a chance to relax and enjoy some of the day yourself.

Jaggy enjoy your last week of mat leave. Hope you have lovely family times before you go back to work. Oh, and well done for catching that poo!

Ninja what happened? Hope you are feeling calm and zen-like now.

Pomme well done to A! We will brook no argument thtat this feat will be repeated every night from now on and the rest of the family will damn well not disturb you.

So, DS has spent at least half of the last 9 nights in bed with me. But now we're home I'm hoping he'll take to his cot again. Optimistic, moi?

pommedechocolat · 03/11/2012 14:02

Welcome back pet! Holiday sleeping's always dodgy imd, I wouldn't worry too much.

Oo back to work jaggy, scary and exciting. How you feeling? Good poo timing!

scarletfingernail · 03/11/2012 18:00

Welcome home pet, lovely to have you back. How was Wales?

Hope your day's not been too stressful Dream?

How's it going Ninja? Did you get sorted out?

How lovely to bump into you again Biscuits and not even anywhere near where either of us live! Spooky. Did you buy anything nice?

I'm a very lucky new owner of a new iPad. My net book died completely and DH has turned Appleyfied since getting his MacBook so convinced me this is what I need. I'm a bit Hmm about having no keyboard, but this is much better than my phone for sure.

DD's poo has still not arrived Shock apart from a few teeny putty ones that's almost a week! I reckon it must be because I've moved her on to follow on milk. Those of you using formula, if your DC is over 6 months do you use that or did you stick with first stage? I might have to switch back if this carries on.

Biscuitsandtea · 03/11/2012 19:12

Lovely to see you back from your hols Pet - hope it was lovely.

How was your day Dream hope everything all happened as it should and you've got through it all Smile

Scarlet lovely indeed to bump into you Smile. Lucky you with an iPad Smile. We are an Apple-ified house - DH loves it! I'm sure he and your DH would have much to talk about Smile. Oh and ds2 is on the 6+ mth milk but was never on the stage 1 stuff. Spinach always gets ds2 moving if things are stuck Hmm but that's harder if dd isn't eating much!

What happened Ninja? Brooking for you. Thanks

Scream no doubt you are up to your neck in cakes (what a place to be! Grin) so I am brooking all goes well tomorrow. I'll raise a glass to A this evening and tomorrow Smile

We had a lovely day. You get ever such a lot done without children you know! I got some new bras (hooray Grin) and some Christmas presents have been acquired. Didn't get any birthday presents for me but I think hope DH might have an idea up his sleeve.

Oh poo! Just realised we didn't get gift receipts for the presents we bought - gah!

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 03/11/2012 19:49

Oh and I forgot to say (because I always forget something) that DH and I had a really nice lunch out and it was lovely to just spend some time with him exchanging whole sentences Smile

OP posts:
pommedechocolat · 03/11/2012 21:51

scarlet - I remember dd1 went 10 days without a poo when I put her on the stage 3 milk. I have an iron obsession which is why I did it... Love the FB photo!

My dh is another apple obsessive.

Yay for a lovely day biscuits!

DreamingOfPeace · 03/11/2012 22:03

Ahh, lovely biscuits . And the imagined bliss of a day without children... So was it a firm hint or a very firm hint you gave your dh about your present?! Mine needs the very firm kind Grin . I'm intrigued. :) My problem is usually that I don't need anything and get something rubbish useful. Think this years Christmas present will be a hand hand vacuum cleaner, I hear it will transform cleaning up after meals from a friend Hmm

Hectic day. Just finished clearing up. Children did not follow The Plan, which was go to children's party, dh collect DD, DD go home for a nap (she trampolined in her cot til dh walked her for an hour in the buggy), babies straight into car, kept awake by the mothership sitting in the back row poking them, then sleep in pushchair for dress trying. B slept for 30 minutes then woke up, guests beat me home, b so tired I put him to bed at 6, DD scared of fireworks so we had to go in. S in seventh heaven all day. He loved the party, he slept like an angel as planned in his buggy, he was riveted by the fireworks, then went to bed like a poppet- who swapped my baby?! In all fairness he's been a dream all week, happier to be put down, finally or in the jumperoo for far, far too long and last night he possibly only woke up once, and b 2 or 3 times but I'm so sketchy about who I was feeding/ cuddling in the dark I wouldn't swear to it Blush

Hello pet we missed you. Yes, home sleeping much better than holiday sleeping. Fact. DD has never napped in her travel cot in the day even when she was fine with her naps at home, though she used to be ok at night on holiday. It's over a year now since we had a holiday though so who knows now!!

scarlet hope that poo comes soon and when your dh can sort it out

And biscuits, your ds2 eats spinach Envy . Mine won't, will not, no way, get lost ever eat anything I make. They will eat Ella's Kitchen pouches and junk food. Today they have had shop bought garlic bread, chicken nuggets, cheese sandwich. Blush fruit pouch. Ffs. How have i cocked it up so much already?! But yesterday I made and offered eggy bread, broccoli trees, slices of roasted butternut squash. All totally completely and utterly rejected, so I've given up....

Biscuitsandtea · 04/11/2012 07:01

Dream your day sounds as if it was fun, if a little hectic. Love the idea of dd trampolining in her cot (although I can guarantee I wouldn't have loved it so much if I was the one trying to get her to sleep - but it does sound cute Smile). And well
done S - what a champ! This does sound like a gradual overall improvement doesn't it - I really hope so Smile.

I also quite love the idea of not being quite sure which child you're dealing with at night - I wonder if I sneaked ds2 in if you'd notice...... HmmGrin

We didn't bother with fireworks this year because ds1 was so scared of then last year! We'd got all wrapped up, walked down to the big display the other side of the village. Ds1 was loving it all - even watching random fireworks on the way from people's houses etc. Got to the display, all good, loved the bonfire and the firemen. Then the fireworks started and he freaked - hid in dh's shoulder and we had to go home! We had even tried showing him fireworks on YouTube before we went so he got the idea of it being loud etc. So we just haven't bothered this year, with the extra hassle of taking the pushchair etc. Maybe we'll try again next year when ds2 is a bit bigger?

And no hints at all given for my birthday - there really is nothing I particularly want. I think DH has a few ideas of his own up his sleeve. He is very good at thinking of presents and is definitely the brains behind 99.9% of the presents we buy Smile. One thing I think I'll get is a dressing gown but that's not too exciting is it. I would like a new one though.

I've just bought a handheld vacuum (just a £20 cheapie from Asda) and I have to say, it has made tidying up from mealtimes easier Grin. Not that I would have wanted it for a christmas present though Hmm.

Ds2 has been up since 5:15 but DH got up with him. He's just been wide awake apparently - I think he would have been trampolining in his cot if he knew how! But at least DH got up with him and I slept. That's two days running he's been wide awake at that sort of time. It's not a pattern, it's not a pattern it's not a pattern.....

hawthers · 04/11/2012 07:05

Ah biscuits you've just described our fireworks disaster with DS1 last night. Think we're going to give it a miss next year

Biscuitsandtea · 04/11/2012 07:26

Oh no. Hawthers poor DS1 Sad. I'm kind of glad in a way that its not just my DS though Hmm

Perhaps we should invent some quiet fireworks for next year and then we could have a special display for Dream's DD and our DS1s Hawthers?

OP posts:
DreamingOfPeace · 04/11/2012 07:45

And 2 of our friends' children will join for the quiet fireworks. We didn't even have any rockets, or banging ones, for that reason, but even fountain types that went 'pop pop pop' quite loudly were enough iykwim?! The nearly four yo managed more but not all, my DD and a friends who's one month younger were all inside after about 2 went off! one little boy who's 2 in December loved it though, the louder the better. Funny creatures.

I was meant to be persuading my dsis that it is totally unnecessary to spend lots of £££ on a wedding dress yesterday. Instead we loved one on her that's £1400- holy sh*t!!! And we liked it with a coloured sash (we all walked in saying we hated coloured sashes Hmm ) which would be extra £££. Eeek. They are still in rented house, her fiance runs a £500 car he bought 2 years ago which just about still goes, they do not need a £13000 wedding but I'm worried they're heading hard towards one :-s . I just think beautiful ad their day will be its ONE DAY and to me, the years in s nicer house, or knowing when the ancient car breaks down it can be replaced is just more important so I'm feeling guilty about the ridiculously expensive dress encouragement...

Biscuitsandtea · 04/11/2012 07:51

Oooh tricky decision Dream. If she's found one she likes could you look for one in a similar style that was cheaper? Or perhaps adjust one / add a coloured sash or something? It's hard though if you've found The Dress isn't it Confused

OP posts:
hawthers · 04/11/2012 08:20

And DH woke me up to say he couldn't sleep last night and some tetchy comments from the idiot mean I'm none too pleased with him this am and I hot left to do breakfast on my own again. Like I've not had enough of it in the last two weeks...

dream has your sister thought about getting her dress made by a dress maker. I had a total panic about how wedding crazy the shops were si went to a local dressmaker who I guess helped me design my dress and got it fitted right up to the day. Cost was 350 including material so perhaps your sister could do something like that? Ours also did bridesmaid dresses too. There is a pic on fb I think of my dress. The one I used is in northumberland but think that is too far from you? Totally outed myself if anyone cares!

Biscuitsandtea · 04/11/2012 08:26

Blimey Hawthers that's a great price! Well done you - I'm off to have a look at it now Smile

Ah nice day for a bday! It's my mil's farm where we got married ahh shit it I'm going to have to nc now!

DreamingOfPeace · 04/11/2012 09:26

Right, I friend requested you to check out the dress hawthers :) . You can always delete me again tomorrow if you want!

Oooh, I could put a pic of her in The Dress up on the secret group and delete it later (also scared of a fb error and it getting seen, she'd kill me...). It's lots of lace biscuits, but not in an old lady way, in a vair trendy skinny youngling way. She looks so lovely... Should I?! Could count on you guys to give honest opinions of whether to put her right off it :)

DreamingOfPeace · 04/11/2012 09:27

It's the lace that makes it ££££ so hard to find a cheaper version, or discontinued line as lace is In, so we were told...

Biscuitsandtea · 04/11/2012 09:27

Yes yes yes do it Dream and delete it later Grin

OP posts:
pommedechocolat · 04/11/2012 10:23

She looks gorgeous!! There will be ways to make it cheaper. Every penny you can wrangle out of the final bill counts!!

Its such a hard thing isn't it? i agree on the one day vs house etc but it is the one time you get to wear a dress like that.
