jaggythistle · 31/10/2012 03:50

just a quick hello.

I'm reading along but have been too sleepy to post. Blush

glad DS2 is ok biscuits. It's hard not to feel rubbish eh! DS2 was sitting up happily then dived face first onto DS1's batmobile last week. he cried his eyes out and i thought he'd have a massive bruise but wasn't too bad.

my stupid thing with DS1 was trying to move him from one room to another in his bouncy chair at 5 weeks. i tripped and fell forwards and my full weight went on it. the chair just folded flat and his wee head hit the floor, cushioned only by the seat. i was in tears and panicky but he seems to be ok.

right, away to attempt transfer...

Biscuitsandtea · 31/10/2012 07:02

I think I'm going to have two tired boys today as ds2 was up from 4:50-6:40 and ds1 has been bobbing about since 6 as well [hconfused]

NinjaChipmunk · 31/10/2012 09:32

aw biscuits hope you've calmed down a bit now? not that its any consolation but ds has been to a&e 5 times (twice for straw-gate, that took 2 and a half days and 2 different hospitals), plus he's fallen off the top of a slide at a friends house, and somersaulted off the side of a slide in the pub garden. Oh and fallen off many walls and trees and gone over handlebars on his scooter....negligent? Don't feel too bad, you won't let it happen a second time.

in other news we should exchange on the house on friday all things being well. it has been a nightmare and i think i can now say our sellers are arseholes! I shall be glad when its all over....
half term here so mega busy as have both kids. got halloween party at ours this arvo then trick or treating tonight. will try to post some pics later.

will try to catch up soon, hope everyone is well and all the newbies are doing ok? be back when i can! x

Loopyhasanotherbean · 31/10/2012 10:10

waves to biscuits i'm still here, just tend to be lurking on the 3 threads as everyone is so chatty that i can just about keep up with reading then not enough time to post....however, i can't quite believe it, but both DS's are currently asleep and DS2 is not asleep on me, so have a few minutes so here i am!!

yay to ninja re house finally going through!

would do more name checking but meant to be doing online banking right now :) but am so easily distracted!!

PS am i the only mother to have not gone out and bought halloween outfits for her DC's? my FB is full of pictures of sprogs in random outfits today, and i haven't bothered!

hawthers · 31/10/2012 10:22

Me neither. I'm counting it a success that we're all alive and I haven't gone on a mad axe woman style rampage. Am not coping very well with 2 weeks of half term and DS1 not sleeping well due to clocks changing plus DH is being a bit of a dick again I have some days where we have good fun pumpkin carving on Monday and a trip to central london yesterday but today I'm tired and mean and have shouted way too much already and its only 10 am. Only another 10 hours to go....

NinjaChipmunk · 31/10/2012 10:24

loopy bit of talc to make them pale, bit of eyeliner smudged and some lippy blood dribble and you're sorted. Fangs are 10p a go in wilkos if you have one near you....but if they haven't asked then maybe don't bring it up? We have organised trick or treating down our road and ds is 5 so mega keen on dressing up (and conning people out of sweets).
Meant to say musical the charity thing sounds exciting!

NinjaChipmunk · 31/10/2012 10:27

hawthers maybe next holiday we should organise a get together for those near london? (don't mean to be stalkerish by the way!)

hawthers · 31/10/2012 11:25

Ooh ninja sounds good! Stupid thing is we had a really nice day yesterday out and about and took my two boys on a carousel opposite big Ben, we saw police boats with sirens on, had a lovely lunch at pizza Express, went to trafalgar square and generally had a lovely time

DreamingOfPeace · 31/10/2012 11:35

One wake up for all dc last night, only one each and luckily DD just needed cuddling/ settling!!!!!

Shame its all just random rather than steady improvement. B does seem much happier again dairy free. Gah. And sleeping better, yay!

Back in a bit to reply to people, but biscuits, don't be daft. Everyone has accidents. Look at how many recent injuries my DD has for example Hmm . Don't torture yourself with what ifs, it didnt happen!

Have also heard loads of buggy-over-backwards stories too scarlet, everyone really does do that!!!

Biscuitsandtea · 31/10/2012 12:00

Wow Dream that is an amazing night isn't it! How good that they all managed a good night at the same time! Now they just need to repeat it..... That must be a personal best for S isn't it? You mark my words it will turn in to a gradual overall improvement.

Thank you for all your kind words and accident examples [hsmile] I have several ds1 accidents I could add to the list. I think this one just felt so much more my fault and it was the first time he'd hurt himself. Not that I'm blasé about ds1 but you know what I mean.

Loopy no Halloween outfits here. Ds1 has a Halloween themed t shirt on but no proper dressing up outfits. I managed to find an orange based t-shirt for ds2 (which is in no way Halloween themed) and even orange striped socks [hgrin]. We aren't going trick or treating but we are going to a Halloween party in the village this afternoon. Should he good. Oh and we've made Halloween cookies this morning that we'll be decorating later [hsmile]

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 31/10/2012 12:01

Still no pomme or Scream?

OP posts:
jaggythistle · 31/10/2012 13:03

DS2 puked on his Halloween outfit yesterday after the baby and toddlers party. DS1 is wearing a Halloweeny t-shirt. MIL bought their stuff.

DS1 didn't want to dress up for the party. Hmm

scarletfingernail · 31/10/2012 14:16

No Halloween outfits here either

I bought DS a pumpkin outfit when he was 10 months, it's way too big for DD so we've not bothered. Also DS has a contagious skin infection so we're stuck at home ALL WEEK without seeing anyone so doesn't matter what we're wearing.

Great news re the move Ninja. Fingers crossed that everything is straightforward for you from here.

Yay for sleep Dream. Brooking for the same again for you tonight.

A slight weaning improvement here. DD has actually swallowed a teeny bit of carrot. That's after a week of me trying potato, carrot, apple, banana, yogurt and broccoli, some of which being mushed up and some of it given to her to hold and her refusing every single thing. This is new to me. DS was a gannet from the off.

I expect Scream may be busy sorting out A's naming party, I think it might have been mentioned it's this weekend coming?

scarletfingernail · 31/10/2012 14:40

Slight thread hijack...

Any of you with older DC have a Innotab 2 or a Leappad 2? I'm thinking of one or the other for DS's upcoming 4th birthday but don't know which one's best. There's various reviews all over the internet but I can't make out which would be the better one to get.

Yes I realise it's yet another decision I'm unable to make without asking you lot Grin

TooImmatureGhostiesAndGhoulies · 31/10/2012 15:08

No Halloween outfit here, but big plans for this weekend. M and I are going to a friend's Halloween party on Saturday so we need costumes. Preferably ones that go as a group. I was thinking perhaps Alice in Wonderland (me) and the Cheshire Cat (M). I've got a purple babygro and I could sew some pink fur strips onto it and make some sort of tail and hood with furry ears, and draw whiskers on her with eyeliner (which will last for approx 3 seconds before she smears it across her face). I was going to wear my pale blue corset but I can't bf in it, so perhaps I won't. It's not very evil-Halloween-spirit-y, though. M also has a black dress with big stars on it that makes her look like the Sorceror's Apprentice, but I'm not sure how I would dress myself as a sorceror. [hconfused]

JenFrankenstein · 31/10/2012 15:41

All in white for M and a sheet over you to be ghosts?

pommedechocolat · 31/10/2012 18:51

I'm here! Sorry, I have been reading but work seems to be taking over any spare time currently!

Glad ds2 is good biscuits, that must have been scary Wine needed for sure.
loved the xmas cake fb photo of ds1 btw.

dream - some sleep?! Amazing!!

ninja - Hope house things go ok

scarlet - boo to quarantine but yay to some eating.

too - I keep seeing baby girls dressed up for halloween in tutu costumes?

We had trick or treaters, dd1 was a bit scared so I had to make them take off their masks for her. She loves her pumpkins though.

Biscuitsandtea · 31/10/2012 19:01

Glad you're still here Pomme [hsmile]

Bloody work getting in the way of your MNing though. I'm pretty sure that's against your European rights [hhmm]

Ooops, I've let ds1 have way too much sugar this afternoon and now DH is having all on trying to get him into bed. Mwah ha ha ha ha [hgrin]

He is also being bombarded with questions including (after throwing a dead spider out of the window) 'what is dead?' Errr, I'll leave that one with you DH - I'm very busy feeding ds2......

OP posts:
hawthers · 31/10/2012 20:00

Spectacularly horrendous evening re food which escalated into a 90 minute tantrum with shouting the whole time and hitting thrown in too. What has happened to my lovely sweet boy :( I feel sick at the thought of getting through tomorrow and also the fact the DS2 will be 3 some day. Dc3 rapidly becoming less likely :(:(

TooImmatureGhostiesAndGhoulies · 31/10/2012 20:03

Gosh, Biscuits, how do you explain 'dead' to a 4 yo? [hconfused] What did your DH say?

Dream, yay for your tribe sleeping! Well done I, S & B!

We didn't get any trick or treaters (or guisers, as they ought to be called by Scottish pedants purists) yet, but we did buy lots of fun-size Milky Ways and Twixes. I guess someone is going to have to eat them...[hgrin]

Loving the ghost idea, Jen! Pomme, M has a tutu for every day wear. [hblush]

God, the stress of driving in bumper-to-bumper crawling traffic for nearly an hour with a baby howling unless I sang very loudly to keep her entertained!

jaggythistle · 31/10/2012 21:14

no guisers here either too so we'll have to eat all the fun size stuff too...aw.

musicalmrs · 31/10/2012 21:19

Too, such a shame about your mini chocolate bars and a lack of trick or testers! Grin. Similar situation here, only with fruity chewy things and lollies. Wish I'd got chocolatey bits instead!

Dream, hurrah for a fabulous night! Hope you get the same tonight...

Ninja, yay for imminent exchange! We weren't too impressed with our sellers either, so I feel your pain. Discovering lots of little problems with this house...

Loopy, I went to a baby group today with about five other babies present, and Iz was the only one not in Halloween clothing.

Have a feeling it may be a long night, as we're on the third wake up already.. screaming each time. What larks..

NinjaChipmunk · 31/10/2012 22:03

scarlet ds has a leappad and its ace, he still loves it now and he's had it since his 4th birthday so over a year. If you get one, make sure you get the adapter for at home and some decent rechargeable batteries. loads of games for it as you can use the leapster games too and they have lots to do within each game. excellent on car journeys/ in restaurants etc. ds loves being able to record himself talking too, even if its usually about poos and farts. if you do get one, preload the games before you give it to him as they take a while to download.

can't remember what else i was going to say.

DreamingOfPeace · 31/10/2012 22:08

hawthers, can't say I'm a good example but DD hasn't eaten much bar some junk food and crisps for quite a few days now. I'm finding 3dc is useful as I'm too busy to care as much as i would have before the boys Wink . Her energy levels seem fine too. I was also told each day doesn't matter, its more important what they eat over a week. That really cheered me up as we do have good days too. Plus today, she picked up a piece if broccoli and touched it to her lips before handing it to me. This is a closer encounter with broccoli than we've had for many, many, many months so yay despite none being consumed The two things you can't make them do, eat and sleep, sigh. is it mostly just the time he takes with meals?

No Halloween costumes here.

Good day though, I'm like a new woman :) . Bet they all wake up imminently though, I'm not even showered as i used my new found energy for a huge kitchen clean/ sort out, plus started the boys baby books. Oh, if it would only continue!!! Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 01/11/2012 07:28

There's another mini brooker arrived.....
