Make the most of it GT it sounds good Grin

ValiumQueen · 09/11/2012 08:55

DD2 has a stomach bug. Not what you need with a newborn. Grr!

I am tired. Very tired, but feel as if I am getting there.

Hope you have a good day today blonder.

GT very envious of all your help! Especially in the night.

Catbag · 09/11/2012 09:49

GT After nearly 3 weeks of my boy screeching with wind it occurred to me to buy some infacol- it has changed my life. He's SO much calmer now and throwing up virtually no milk compared to before. He calmer with the feeding now too, as he was trying to comfort feed all the time and cram too much milk into his tummy. He's being more like his sisternow and just wriggling to bring up the wind. None of my daughters have ever suffered with bad wind, just my sons Hmm

Evilwater · 09/11/2012 09:52

Rowing- I was hoping for some sleep. I'm very tired. It turns out my LO is a fan of spongebob. It's the only way I can get. Dressed and have a hot cuppa.

Welcome all to all the new arrivals on the thread.

At the mo LO is more FF at the mo, cause he is drinking loads. Still having my milk but its not really enough.

6 week appointment, went well. apart from he didn't exist on computer, I DID regester him. He has put on some weight, GP asked how things were going, and asked about contraption. My reply was I'm tired, I thought the implant would be good. I have to try some pills first, to make sure I'm ok with the hormone. Except its the pills that, my LO is here. Oh and I have to go to the big hospital to have the implant in as they don't to the implant at my GP, more fun.

I've booked Hm for the first set of jabs, sounds like a barrel of fun.

I'm considering expressing a bottle, just for some relief! J sleeps for 4hrs between long feeds but he only ever empties one breast at a time so they're both so engorged I can't put my arms down and breast pads are failing to keep me dry (even with several in) I'm not even sure I'd need to use the expressed milk but it seems appealing to let some off for the comfort. Plus J seems to struggle to latch if they're too full so gets fussy until he manages it.

NervousAt20 · 09/11/2012 10:28

Thanks ladies I'm sure it is just my hormones that's why I'm trying to just grin and bear it and hope it eases off

GT jelous of the help lol my LO goes every 2 hours and that's it

tits my boobs went rock soild and hot so I expressed got loads of milk off and then I froze it, I've tried expressing since and not been able to get half as much off and I want to build up a supply for over Xmas and DP is desperate to do some feeds

Just had the health visitor out, I do feel lucky that I got a lovely women. She weighed DD and she's 7lb 3iz Shock so she's gained 10 oz in a week lol I was worried about her having short feeds but seems she's happy with it and gaining weight. We're having a lazy mummy and daughter day today I hope we have no visitors so going to relax, nap hopefully and have a bath

daisychain76 · 09/11/2012 13:27

Congratulations sophia that soounds a lovely birth. Hope your Lo doesns?t catch the bug VQ. Baby H has avoided 2 so far, which HV attributes to bf.

Glad your 6 week check went ok evil. Here they do it with the first set of jabs so have another 2 weeks to wait. Annoying when the mum and baby yoga class l want to do insists you have your check 1st.

My totsbot teenyfits have arrived, so we are having 1st full day in reusables Smile. Just wish there was someway l could show them off, they are way too nice to hide under vests.

l have been putting off the infacol, but think l?ll start tonight. lt was up every hour last night and torture getting up for the school run.

ValiumQueen · 09/11/2012 14:04

daisy my LL size 1 bamboos arrived yesterday. They are adorable.

DS has been feeding non stop today. He has finally fallen asleep. I am shattered.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 09/11/2012 17:09

DS is back to birth weight withi a week! So pleased feeding is going well and this makes the grazing all night worth it! Still exhausted though. Hope everyone else well.

Had forgotten how actually arc breast feeding really is. My nips are wrecked already. He doesn't open his mouth wide enough so he's on of, on off the whole time.

We are still in hosp as he has to have antibiotics for a couple of days. After only about 3 hours sleep in two days I am feeling a bit tired.

YellowWellies · 09/11/2012 21:17

Hello all!

Jonas is home from hospital now and has woken up from his premmie sleepy state damnit I thought we had a 'perfect' baby who slept and fed nicely every four hours but no... now he's awake he's a wimpy screecher about nappy changes, will happily sit on my boob ALL day and ALL night and poohs on an hourly basis preferably into a freshly changed nappy.... It's a good thing he's so damn cute.

Can I join the knackered club? I'm lucky to have a very hefty supply of milk (thank you hospital breast pump which we've been allowed to take home) which is good as I've been having to express 100ml every feed so we can top him up using a bottle to gain weight extra quick to beat the jaundice. So that adds pumping, sterilising and delivering a bottle onto the feeding time meaning it's been taking 1.5 hours every feed.... wah.... am dead on my feet. Thankfully he's gone from 6 lb 3 and a bit to 7 lb 2 in a fortnight thanks to the fois gras feeding style and we can slow down a bit. This means he's now leading me on when he needs to be fed, and because he's not that efficient at BFing yet it means he'd like to be latched on all the time...

So we are going to dose him with expressed milk at the midnight and middle of the night feeds tonight... and hope I get to sleep in more than 1.5 hour chunks. :(

DH and my sister are here and being total legends. I can see the appeal of formula having done expressed feeds as its nice to know how much they are getting but jeez the faff of sterilising - total nightmare when half asleep without contact lenses I really can't be arsed doing that for the next year - so am counting down the weeks until he feeds more efficiently at the breast. I am going to preservere with the BF as it's never going to be as hard as this again eh? Jonas is getting threatened with the aptimil every time a feed takes longer than 2 hours Grin

I've spent the day having frustrated attempts to do the simplest things - changing details on my mobile tariff etc, logging into work email and have just plain given up - normal life can wait eh?

Lots of love to you all and fingers crossed the sandman visits us all tonight xx

YellowWellies · 09/11/2012 21:20

Given that my wee man is effectively a shit sausage production line - can anyone recommend reusable wipes? Am using up half the world's cotton wool supply at this rate....

Evilwater · 09/11/2012 21:33

Anything with sensitive.

Thechick · 09/11/2012 22:41

Yellow I didn't realise you had a premature baby. My little one came at 34 weeks and daisy had hers even earlier. How early was yours. I can completely relate to the sleepy state, the nappy changes and the being on the boob all day! And the aptimal, but it was the hospital that got to me on the day he was born, and was mixed feeding but now it's boob during the day and formula at night.

blonderthanred · 09/11/2012 22:49

YW we are also depleting the worlds cotton resources and I am thinking the same. VQ is evangelical about reusable wipes, I think she makes her own.

GTbaby · 10/11/2012 00:51

Sad LO is asleep on my chest. I'm exhausted. I wana sleep all day Blush.

AGAIN ur all amazing. Some of u juggle other kids, cooking, cleaning breast feeding. Don't know how u do it.

Nxt week only my mum will b off, sis n dad bk to work. Which may b a good thing as I'm more likely to has day time naps. Lol.

Right nxt task. Transfer LO from chest to crib.

Passmethecrisps · 10/11/2012 00:53

Hello ladies. Just having a wee gate crash. The ante-natal thread has been very busy with babies today - I think we had 4? Starting to get awfully echoey in there.

I think you are all champions. I am being induced on Sunday due to a concern about possible low birth weight. First if has ever been mentioned but there you go. Starting to get a bit antsy. Had a sweep on Wednesday but no symptoms. Reading about you ladies simultaneously makes me excited and completely terrified

NervousAt20 · 10/11/2012 01:30

Good luck for Sunday pass we will be seeing you soon \smile] wow 4 babies!! Who had them if you don't mind me asking?

Second feed here only and hour and ten minutes after the first one

Passmethecrisps · 10/11/2012 02:03

Thanks nervous

Today we have had
DH21 - little girl called Quinn
eliza - little girl called Ella
Jaylee - little girl called Elanna
Jims - wee boy called Freddie

I think Jaylee and Jims were actually last night but we heard today. DH and Eliza were speedy deliveries. Actually, so was Jims I think.

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/11/2012 03:22

Hello mummies! My baby girl has arrived, actually late last night at 10:44pm weighing 7lb 2 :) actual active labour was about an hour!

Thank you pass for adding my name, lots of babies being born

I so can't sleep but know I should, she fed on the boob frantically for the first hour and had been conked out since! Should make the most of it but can't sleep.

Hope everyone here is doing well and all babies are healthy and happy.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 10/11/2012 03:28

Congrats DH!

Well DS and I have celebrated him being a week old by him feeding almost non-stop since 9pm. He's got to conk out properly soon, surely?!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 10/11/2012 03:29

Oh and DH, love your DD's name, beautiful.

NervousAt20 · 10/11/2012 03:29

Thanks pass it's so difficult to follow the other thread, it will be better once everyone is in the same again

Congratulations DH21 how are you feeling?

We're up again third feed and it's only an hour and ten minutes after the last one again Sad

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/11/2012 06:33

I'm battered and bruised but totally in love I can't stop staring at her tiny face Grin

I've had about an hours sleep all night, not all at once either. Glad dh is around for the next two weeks to help with ds.
