Thanks Vq to be. honest l think he is just going at his own pace, but him being premmie l don?t have that 3rd child confidence l would have had if he was full term. Hv has phoned and is referring him so we will probably get a hospital appointment for Thursday or Friday.

Had a lovely quiet day today as had to wait in for gas man. Kicking myself tho cos still haven?t got round to writing any thank you cards.

Hello ladies, I haven't posted on here yet but hope it won't be too long. Congratulations to all who've had babies Thanks

Hope you don't mind but i've spent a few hours minutes going through previous threads and I've updated the stats list here
It now contains babies born so far and any newbies that I could spot in the last few antenatal threads. I've tried to go through posts to get names/weights etc so sorry if I've missed any or if any details are wrong.

Can you tell i've been bored Grin

NervousAt20 · 06/11/2012 15:41

Great weight gain valium

Hope everything's okay daisy

Got baby's hip scan appointment through the post today

Thanks fatima it's nice to see the updated list. I bet there's a few fed up ladies onthe antenatal thread, it moves so fast it's impossible to keep caugh up

ValiumQueen · 06/11/2012 15:56

fatima you must have been bored! There are lots of names I have not seen for ages. I do hope all is well with them.

FatimaLovesBread · 06/11/2012 17:00

I was bored Grin I've done all my nesting, been baking loads so thought i'd update to busy myself. Next job on my 'keep myself busy' list is to make a spreadsheet to keep track of finances.
Can't wait to join this thread. Hope you're all doing well

TheDetective · 06/11/2012 17:01

VQ Grin Hooray! Mummy did know best, hey?! So glad to hear that things are looking good. Although still upset for you that you had to go through what you did. I'm dreading it all....!

blonderthanred · 06/11/2012 18:52

Wow Fatima that is sterling work! Lovely to see all the snuggly babies that have been born and those still to come.

Torn between hoping for a bit of sleep tonight and hoping L will feed all night and be nice and fat for the mw tomorrow!

Titsalinabumsquash · 06/11/2012 19:07

Evening ladies Smile

My Internet is down so I've been quiet and I have to wait 5-7 days for a new router!

We're home now, it's lovely to be a little family, the boys are in love with J and he is happy for them to stare at him for hours on end. Grin

He is feeding well but I'm not sure my milk is in yet (day 2?) although I'm putting him to breast everytime he roots for it, he's latching beautifully and sucking for about 10 minutes a time on both or sometimes just the one breast. He always sleeps while he's doing it and I take him off when he looses the latch. Getting any wind out of him is a mission though (any tips?) apart from a few farts takes after his father! not many dirty nappies though, just one today, I assume it will increase in volume as the milk comes in?

I can't wait until we're all here, I miss our big group threads! Smile

Evilwater · 06/11/2012 19:10

Well done VQ.
Fatima, I'd stock on the sleep!

Things done today:
Cleaned massive poonami, and then when I'm just about to put another nappy on, another poonami!
Cleaned upstairs,
Had lunch out,
Pumped 4 oz of milk out twice, whoop!
LO drank 6oz of formula.

Best thing of all no day time t.v! I can't belief I have spent 1 month watching TV. If things go well tonight, off to be weighed.

Ds back to birth weight at day 10. Doing well Im totally in love!!

Worried about dh going back to work and being alone :( but looking forward to doing 'normal' things like the horses again!! Fed up if waiting for people and meetings.

Bf specialist was unable to help us get a latch, need to try nipple shields. Milk supply totally dwindled though been offered medication should I want it. Unless he attaches to the nipple shields I'm not bothering. The mw today agreed with that decision as did the bf specialist yesterday.

I just can't get over how much he keeps changing. Every day he looks more like a little boy, less like a baby. Obviously still a baby but I'm fascinated by it all. I just think time is going to fly faster than ever :(

Just trying to get out as much as possible as settee sitting doesn't do me any good!!! Nor does forum reading ATM apart from this thread and the ante natal thread!! You're all lovely ladies!!

Passmethecrisps · 06/11/2012 22:47

Hello lovely mummies!

I thought I would just swing past and say hi. I have been following this thread and I just wanted to say how much I admire you all. I almost feel like I am cheating getting the benefit of all your experiences.

I miss our big old blabberfest thread and I canno wait until we are all safely on this one.

Take care everyone x

GTbaby · 07/11/2012 00:10

LO is driving me nuts. Crys as soon as put down. But wants nothing. Got some infacol today so will try that tomorrow Incase it's trapped wind.

So glad I'm at my mums. Lots of help Smile so that's a positive.

He is also drinking every 2hours. But not full feed. Leaves half of bottle which is frustrating. Tried nappy change. But he falls asleep as soon as I finish changing him. Also tried burping. But he keeps mouth clamped shut n if forced in the teat he will just sit there. Not drinking. Very frustrating. Blush.

Need to re read the gina forde book for tips lol. (Hides waiting for the flaming)

NervousAt20 · 07/11/2012 00:28

Grr I just lost my post so forgive me for not name checking ill go back over it in the morning

Oh GT it's frustrating isn't it. Glad your at your mums though Grin enjoy lol

BabyN is almost asleep so hoping to put her down in 5 min but if to others anything like last as soon as we head touches the Moses basket she turns wide awake

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 07/11/2012 00:42

gt make the most of your mum! My mum is still her with us (although she goes home tomorrow - sob) and she is so patient with DS, she takes him after I have fed him and either keeps him away until he needs feeding again or until she can get him settled in the crib.

My milk is now fully in, each breast is about 4 times the size of DS's head! Hopefully he will get a nice full tummy from feeds now, rather than the all night grazing we had last night!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 07/11/2012 00:51

Oh and fatima thanks for updating the stats, v interesting to see and looking forward to seeing lots more babies arrive!

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2012 01:32

madame that is impressively quick for the milk. Glad your mum is a support. Mine just makes everything worse as she is such a worrier and a fusspot. She is better on practical stuff that keeps her away from me.

I remember when DD1 was small, she asked to bath her. She was so nervous she had a glass of wine to calm herself. She does not drink normally. She put baby in water and baby started crying. The water was far too hot, and she had checked it with her elbow. I had to intervene. She still apologises about that one. DD1 still hates bathtime, having loved it up until then. Yes my mum is much better doing things like cooking or nursery runs. She is not good for my BP.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 07/11/2012 03:12

I like to be ahead of the curve! My mum is in her element with babies and small children and I am in awe of her in this respect. She was a wonderful SAHM to me and my siblings, patient beyond measure and I hope she will be very involved with my children despite living 4 hours from me.

blonderthanred · 07/11/2012 03:12

Nervous we are having the problem of not settling in the basket or bednest, after we thought we'd cracked it with the hot water bottle.

I am very tired.

Had an email from La Leche earlier after I wrote to them about the formula/weight issue. They think for CS babies the baseline weight should be taken after 24 hrs and weight loss only measured after that, as they retain so much fluid. Lots of other interesting info too.

blonderthanred · 07/11/2012 03:16
MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 07/11/2012 03:17

That is interesting about CS babies, blonder. DS gets weighed tomorrow and am hoping it will be ok.

DD would never settle in a Moses basket. She slept in a chair thing which almost fully reclined for a couple of weeks and hen moved to her cot bed which she liked. Have you got an alternative?

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 07/11/2012 03:18
NervousAt20 · 07/11/2012 03:24

That is interesting blonder. We've never had a problem with the Moses basket before last night so hoping it was just a one off and today LO has been awake alot so hoping that will help her get some sleep tonight but it seems the best place to sleep is mummy's arms

blonderthanred · 07/11/2012 03:25

We have the bednest upstairs, which he slept fine in until last night. Ditto Moses basket downstairs. I think he is just really hungry at night at the moment. Hopefully it will translate into more milk and more growth. He is really chilled out the rest of the time.

Maybe he's just worried about Florida and Ohio, he doesn't want to wake up to Romney.

rowingdowntheriver · 07/11/2012 05:04

Ditto x2 for the Moses basket. Either that or 'can't burp, won't burp'.

Have plonked him back in there now and have my fingers crossed that he finally settles this time. Not optimistic given the noises he is starting to make.

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2012 06:39

May the third fluke in a row, but he woke once at 1am. Granted our day starts at six. If not earlier. I decided to go with the co- sleeping last night and got out of bed once! Once I say! Feel like I have been at a spa. Once he is sleeping through I will try him in his cot but the moses basket is going I think.
