We went back to bed at 3.30. He slept til nine, we had breakfast and a play, then lunch, he went down at 1 for his usual nap and he's still sleeping!!! What is going on??

Watching baz lurhrmans Romeo and Juliet! It's sent me back to being 16 and studying for my higher English! I loved Claire Danes I wanted to be her

Hope the mousse turns out ok.

Better go I hear squeaking!

Starshaped · 17/12/2012 21:47

Blooming nora, you're brave Fizz - it would be a bedtime disaster if P had that much of a snooze in the afternoon!

We're having a few sleep stresses at the moment too. DD usually self settles like a dream but has taken an hour to go to sleep the last few nights. There's been lots of screaming and DH and I have had to sit and hold her until she goes off. I feel like I've been transported back in time about 15 months! She dropped her morning nap really rather early and I'm worried that she's going to be early in dropping the lunchtime one. I've come to value my two hours to myself on my days off! Still, I'd much rather this than the lengthy wakings in the middle of the night.

I've nearly finished work for Christmas. Sooooo excited! Xmas Grin

MrsWajs · 17/12/2012 22:37

A douchebag ilike!? Brilliant!

R has her afternoon nap really late, usually 3-5pm. It's not ideal but so far hasn't impacted on bedtime too much, it's gone from roughly 7-7.30 to more like 7.30-8, which would be fine if she made up the extra hour in the morning but she doesn't, hmmmph.

So no more smelly wee since Saturday, well not that I've noticed anyway. But mood has taken a severe nose dive since yesterday so I'm guessing it's PMT and maybe we're out for this month.

GsyPotatoMincePieEyed · 17/12/2012 23:18
Xmas Smile

I,m currently playing Find The Present. I hid some Hello Kitty Board Books for P the other day and now can't find them. Msybe they are with the angry Birds Christmas Cards I bought for DS in November and also put away "somewhere". Luckily when I got the Xmas decks down from the loft there were some Disney cards I'd bought in the January Sales and forgotten about. (Are you spotting a theme here).

Right, better go and find a clean school uniform ready for the morning, DS got his trousers soaked at playtime today and he had to wear his PE shorts. Naturally, this coincided with the day all the parents got to go and visit all the classrooms to see the children's Xmas crafts.

ILikeToHoHoHo · 18/12/2012 07:31

Lol Gsy, you sound just like my mum. It's not unknown for us to be given gifts 6 months after the event because she found them squirrelled away somewhere!

Well ds3 went to sleep fine last night and there were no wake ups. A fluke or progress? We will see!!

Ds2 is at preschool all day today and no music lesson for ds3 and me. What to do? I think ds3 and I will do some baking this morning (Stilton puffs, I saw Nigel Slater making them and they looked divine). Then I am off to the Dentist for some sort of work

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 18/12/2012 17:23

Well B went down at usual time last night, eightish, and slept right through until 6.30! So who knows what yesterday's mammoth nap was about!

We did carol. Singing at work today! Accompanied by bagpipes! Was an experience and my ears are still ringing! But lovely!

Got to wrap presents tonight! Joy! Xmas Grin

ILikeToHoHoHo · 18/12/2012 20:53

I love bagpipes, and for some reason they make me feel very emotional (I am not remotely Scottish).

Ds's SS arrived today. I have my suspicions of the sender Xmas Grin

Well done B. Let's hope tonight is a replay of last night - for both of us!

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 18/12/2012 22:40

Hmm, so not so good tonight, I have just managed to get him off, only thing being he is in the double bed in the spare room! Had to properly cuddle him to sleep. So, do we risk moving him? Or leave him there?

ILike, I bubble like a loon at the pipes, especially today when they played highland cathedral, which is what I walked down the aisle to.

ILikeToHoHoHo · 19/12/2012 13:23

Did B stay in the double?

Ds3 slept 7 till 7 - hurrah! But then was a total pita when going down for his lunchtime nap Xmas Confused Then ds2 had a complete meltdown about going for a nap - a sure sign of him being tired Xmas Hmm

Sings 'Tis the season to be jolly' to herself, over and over ......

ILikeToHoHoHo · 19/12/2012 13:25

I just youtube'd Highland Cathedral.

Why do that to me Fizz. Why?

Sniff sniff

Urggh, last night was like having a newborn but with slightly fewer feeds :( she was coughing lots, had cough mix but refused calpol or ibuprofen and we couldn't even force it down her. We did get one 4 hour stretch. Still sent her to nursery this morning while I had the morning off to intorduce my friend and her 4 week old to breastfeeding group. Got to nursery with reins planning to make her walk home but she was asleep Confused so dashed home to get pram, back to nursery and she's still asleep now. Hopefully she'll feel better after a big nap, maybe I should have one too?

Fizz, sounds like you're having fun with sleep too.

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 19/12/2012 16:54

Fa la la la la la la laaaaaaaaaa!

We moved him because I was terrified he would roll off the bed. Had a wee moan but settled fine. Until 4 fecking 30!

I am quite tempted to move him to the front bedroom because I'm sure it's something on the farm out back that's waking him so early. Worth trying? Or just a desperate mum looking to solve the unsolvable?

ILike, not pipes, but have a you tube at edie reader singing ae fond kiss, or any of her burns songs. Very lovely!

Starshaped · 19/12/2012 19:40

Urgh, I'm sat in the dark cuddling P to sleep. Why oh why has she stopped self settling?!

We've had to go through this rigmorale for three of the last four nights. I like the cuddles but I'd rather get my evenings back!

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 19/12/2012 20:11

We have a sleeping B, sorry chilli. Minimal upset at bedtime too. Gingers crossed for a full night!

ILikeToHoHoHo · 19/12/2012 20:22

Gingers crossed indeed Xmas Grin lol

WTAF is going on with our lo's sleep???

Starshaped · 19/12/2012 21:46

I don't know but i don't like it. Do you think there's some sort of Babynet out there and they're all in cahoots?!

It only took 15 minutes of snuggling to get her in her cot tonight at least. As long as she stays there we'll be alright!

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 19/12/2012 21:52

Star, sorry it should have been you I name checked not chilli! Can I blame sleep deprivation!?

Kittycatcat · 20/12/2012 04:56

Hope ur all having better nights. A was in with me last night cos he wouldn't sleep. Taking the boys to London today. My office then dh's. it's parents day at dh's and theirs a Santa.

Starshaped · 20/12/2012 15:52

Christmas shopping finally done. Hooray! Xmas Grin

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 20/12/2012 17:44

So I slept on the floor in Bs room last night until he was sound asleep. His cough is sounding chesty and he's been sick, but I'm sure it only with the coughing. Eyes and nose streaming he is looking very sorry for himself.

Dh out for Christmas drinks tonight, so I'm on my own for bedtime! Eek! Might have to crack open the Christmas wine!

chillikat · 20/12/2012 22:08

We had a better night last night and so far so good tonight with a dose of neurofen before bed.

Secret santa arrived today Xmas Grin

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 21/12/2012 07:57

Better night here too, although lots of coughing :(

He has no appetite too. I've laid out all his favourites for breakfast and he hasn't touched a bit. Drank some water but that's it.

Kittycatcat · 21/12/2012 11:09

What's with these children? Dh had to go into s. and A is back to coming I with me last three nights. I love the cuddles but want him in his crib. Have tried everything. He just won't settle. Tho I did two cluster feeds last night and he slept with me1-830. If only he could do that I his crib!! He did half hour and woke moaning. Hasn't had a poo for about three days so wonder if that's it? Added to which I seem to be turning inroads screaming shouty monster.

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 21/12/2012 13:48

B went up to 8 days without a poo when he was on the ebm kitty. Just so y know!

I have a very clingy boy today. Not getting anything done i should be doing. Although I have managed to finish my tesco shop online. Although I think I need more wine and more chocolate!

Better go b has just come in with a can of beer! No idea where that came from!

Kittycatcat · 21/12/2012 13:54

S ripped the inside of our card to a earlier Confused.

Poo has now arrived!! Woo hoo
