  1. my uncle
  2. dd1 decided to pee all over me this afternoon for no reason (other than sibling jealousy? as I'd just changed dd2's nappy.
  3. She's just managed to re decorate herself with chocolate cake, that all she had to do was pick up out the bowl and friggin eat, not spread all over herself and the floor.......
  4. Dh is pissed off at me because he agreed I could go out last night and I spent a whole tenner that he gave me to spend WTF? and Sorry for being self indulgent....

Uni Good luck with the MIL

Uncle is not so good this am again tho..... will have to wait and see on that one

Astrophe · 02/09/2006 12:15

have posted on other thread friz.

come and rant any time, hope your day has improved. drives me mad when dd wees/poos when i know she is toilet trained...so defiant isn't it? but i guess they need something they can be control of when they are jealous etc. myy dd wont poo unless we put a nappy on - she just holds on and makes herself feel sick. so we have to put a nappy on her every arvo so she can poo...grrrr. toddlers eh?

Frizbe · 02/09/2006 17:07

Thanks for that Astro, will go and have a read now, just to update........fancy doing a bit of praying for her hon?
It never rains but it pours here.....
Baby has water on the brain....is in SCBU.....may be transfered to another hospital to my cousin tomorrow, poor mite is in pieces, as indeed I would be too.....her dad is stable at present tho, which is one better thing.....off to do a bit of research on it all now.

OP posts:
laundrylover · 02/09/2006 20:36

Hi All,
Friz, sorry to read about your family stress and hope things look up, esp for the baby, soon. Keep us updated.
Hi Munz....thanks for popping by!!!!
Sarah, I am really looking at BLW this time too so once back from Spain I might give it a go....can't believe how mobile all your babes are! Kiah can sit up now but shows no signs of wanting to go anywhere - phew!
Astro, you sound much perkier but shout if you start to slide OK?

I've been really down and loopy for the last few days, hence no MNing!! On the up now though so hope it was just a hormone dip eh? I used my breast pump and got bloody thrush back too so the retched thing has been soaking in Milton all day.

Ooh guess what?? My sis is getting married on top of a munro in Scotland in May and now my bro has proposed too with the wedding maybe before Xmas!!! The pressure's on for me and DP eh??

Frizbe · 03/09/2006 08:49

ll, why don't you all get married together! (saves on cash, although your sis might not be up for that )
Sorry to hear you've been a bit down, and the damn thrush is back hope it goes away soon hon, is it antib's again?

Found loads of great info on Hydrocephalus on here last night, including a fab action site thing, so going to pass it onto my cousins partner for them to digest at leisure (sure she doesn't want me ramming it in her face just yet)
Fingers x'd they've found out whats causing it, or baby will have to be moved to another hospital (she's in a 'local' one with SCBU at the mo)

OP posts:
Astrophe · 03/09/2006 15:45

friz, amd praying for your cousin and her bub - glad they have you and other on board for support. Any news?

LL am feeling fairly crap today actually - so thanks for checking. I always seem fine tho to others - think this is part of my problem.

Our lad cried almost continuously yestrday and is currently screaming his little lungs out in his cot. hes been fed. changed, burped, cuddled, patted, rocked had calpol...what else is there? Hes also waking 3-4 times a night and being unsettled and wakeful. Needless to say am feeling rather jaded.

sarah, how did the celebration go?

Frizbe · 03/09/2006 19:41

Oh Astro {{{{Big Hugs}}}} is he growing/growing pains?? teeth? he's not quite old enough for infant nurofen is he, it does wonders for teeth 6mths +
Thanks for the prayers Cousin is feeling better today, and has the info I've taken into her re help groups etc, so far they've not found the cause of it (hosp docs appear to have been quite vague in their explanation of the situation...possibly as they may be to blame...see below) and baby may be transfered to another hospital tomorrow for a shunt to be put in to drain the fluid...... needless to say cousin is starting to question if it could have been caused by her lack of care, total 41 hrs in labour, waters breaking, induction due to meconium, to finish.....ended in botched forceps and emergency c-section
On the plus side her dad has been moved wards and is looking up so at least one thing heading in the right direction, fingers x'd the little mite is ok soon too.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 03/09/2006 21:03

thanks friz, no idea whats up with him, but going to see hv tommorrow, hopefully she might have some ideas.

he slept for a total of 45 mins today...was up at 6am, asleep at 7pm...is this normal? dh and i spent the best part of the arvo feeding (well, me, not dh!), patting, rocking etc, and no sleep came of it.

i'm glad your cuz is a bit better, will continue to pray for bub (you know you can too though - He'll listen to anyone!). i don't know anything about this condition...is it treatable?

Frizbe · 04/09/2006 07:38

Hi Astro, yeah its treatable, they put a drain in, fluid goes from brain to somewhere? stomach I think from what I've read? (or at least thats where another mumsnetters did, although they've started doing a new lasar thing too so shall see which they decide to do, if its not arrested on its own overnight I guess? trouble is, depending on severity it can lead to developmental probs later, some people are ok, like Edam and one of Lou33's kids(on another thread) some are not obviously really annoying thing is, its starting to look like it may have been caused by mis-managed birth although that will have to be investigated.....
Have been praying too pretty sure all family have!

Here's hoping your little one is better for you today, its horrible when they just don't drop all day, dd2 is like that sometimes too, usually grows tho!

Been up nearly all night, or at least that's what it feels like here...
dd2 usual dream feed 10:30, woke at 12 for another boob, 4.30 for another, dh got up at 5am, another boob at 5.30/6 I can't remember starting to loose plot then dd1 got up at 6.30 with a cut lip and just screamed at me (did it whilst running away from dh yesterday) oh joy of joys......am feeling frazzled......must not loose temper with kids today........

friz hope your day gets better take care hun

Astrophe · 04/09/2006 22:07

Glad there are some treatments available Friz. Whats the news?

went to see the HV today and DS has dropped to the 50th centile (from 98th or whatevever it was at birth), so HV thinks it might be hunger that is making him sleep so badly. So now i feel like horrible, witchy baby-starving woman But at least we have something to work with now. Trouble is that although he eats everything that goes in, actually getting it in is very tricky, as he is not keen on opening him mouth and we have to make him laugh then shovel a spoonful in. He likes to feed himself, but this doesn't result in a full tummy but rather a full gutter on his bib. Any tips?

Was rather shocked by the hv actually. She asked 'how much milk is he having a day?', to which I answered that I didn't really know...that he usually has about 5 or 6 feeds a day, and then theres nights...etc, and she said 'oh, well how much is left in his bottle after you feed him?' and when I said I was breastfeeding she was all surprised! Not that she was negative about it, but I was surprised that she was surprised and that she assumed I was bottle feeding.

Hv is coming to visit (we went to clinic today) to have a chat next week re. possible pnd.

laundrylover · 04/09/2006 22:29

Astro, Your HV's question made me laugh! It rather seemed to sum up the state of play in the NHS. Imagine not asking if you were breast feeding!! Anyway don't panic about Eli's weight/feeding etc., remember that all the bf babies on this thread have dropped down the charts in the last couple of months. He is still bang on average even in the stupid charts! Why not try him with some finger foods like really well cooked veg? Some MNers have a BLW blog - I'll have a look if I can find it for you in a bit...
Sorry you're feeling crap today - sending hugs...
Unfortunately I am in much the same boat. Both girls have impetigo, I have bastard thrush (from the pump Friz, not even ABs) and the docs are a bunch of useless wassocks.
Today DP stayed at home 'to help' and we had a screaming row in front of the girls. He just doesn't understand why I get so wound up about everything, but in fact he doesn't need to understand - just step in a bit quicker...
Sorry big rant and didn't even ask about the poor baby Friz - I hope they can get his condition under control soon and that things keep looking better.

laundrylover · 04/09/2006 22:32

Sorry Friz, the baby is a girl isn't it - not very with it today.
Hi to Gothic too.

Frizbe · 04/09/2006 22:35

Bloomin HV's maybe the area your HV covers is a mainly bottle feeding area?? Have to say luckily we have a good HV up here, feel very blessed to have her.

Tips for feeding? not sure if its a tip... but I usually sit opposite dd2, and open my mouth wide with evey spoonful, she's another one who likes smiling with it too if it helps the only thing she will open her mouth really wide for on her own is petit filous, however I did the one spoon of fruit, one of dinner this evening, when she tried to express a dislike for my mushed up roast chicken dinner

Cousins ds had some tests today and has more and an MRI tomorrow, before they decide what to do next......he's feeding well tho, so that's a good thing.

LL, Uni, Munz, Rom, Caddy and anyone else where are you? hope your all doing ok?

OP posts:
laundrylover · 04/09/2006 22:38

He's a boy!!!!
God, I tell you what I can't do anything right at the mo!!!

Frizbe · 04/09/2006 22:38

Cross posts LL, its a boy! sorry to hear you had such a crap day of it how long does impetigo last for? real bummer about the thrush, your not having it good on that front

OP posts:
laundrylover · 04/09/2006 22:39

Friz, am smiling at mental image of you gawping with your mouth open whilst shovelling food in.....

Frizbe · 04/09/2006 22:40

its a great image isn't it ll or should I say

OP posts:
laundrylover · 04/09/2006 22:44

Tilly came back from Spain last year with impetigo in her x-ma and had oral ABs which shifted it pretty quick. This time she got 2 patches and then it started spreading so I asked HV to confirm before going to docs. I waited for over an hour to see a stupid doc who said it was infected x-ma (on her nose??) and gave me cream....Kiah now has it around her eye.
Couldn't see a doc today so have to scoot up the hill at 8.30am to queue for a ticket to see a locum who the receptionists assure me is 'lovely'! This was in response to me asking if he 'was any good' whilst on the verge of tears!! They think I'm a loon!!!

Astrophe · 04/09/2006 22:46

am smiling also - and blushing 'cos now that @ve imagined you Friz, I realise how silly I look

(((hugs))) to you LL, (and I'll blow a kiss to your girls, but wont get too close )
I hope it clears up quickly and that the thrush finally goes for good. KNow what you mean about your DP - they just don't see what needs doing do they? No matter how well meaning they are.

Yes, it is a mainly bottle feeding area, but was still shocked. The HV seems nice enough though (my original one was lovely, but left) I was sure she was about to say that I should bottle feed as he is hungry, but she didn't.

MUST go to bed...am such an idiot being on here when i know i will b woken in about 1 1/2 hours...its so nice to tune out for a while though isn't it?

Hi to everyone else if you're lurking!

laundrylover · 04/09/2006 22:48

Are you referring to my boobs as 'that front'???
Good to hear that they are moving forward with the baby (MRI etc.) so hopefully things will become clearer. Is your cousin bfing him? Not that it's a big issue I just quite often feel that bfing is the one thing I'm doing right amidst all the chaos and wondered if she was managing.

Astrophe · 04/09/2006 22:49

grrrr, its just awful the way appointments with drs work here...have to take Luie up some time for sores in mouth and rash on bum, but keep putting it off as its no hard to get an appointment when you want it. double grrrrr. hope tomorrow is better for you ll

laundrylover · 04/09/2006 22:53

Hi Astro - yes indeed we should all be in bed by now!
Our DPs do have a lot to put up with sometimes but for instance is mending a video camera REALLY more important than rounding up the troops and getting us out the door to the park????
I am a bit embarrassed about the old impetigo as a doc once described it as disease of poverty before hurriedly adding that kids with x-ma were prone!
BTW Friz, I'm well up for a meet up - how about you Astro? I vote we leave the toddlers at home tho this time! Am in Spain next week but then back to the drudgery and rain.
