been a busy wekend on here then! sympathy to those that need it ;-) for what ever reason. Dh's def don;t see all teh stuff that needs doing do they. While I appricate he needed to iron his work shirts last night , that appears to be all he did while I was out doing my 1st bit of work since Boys arrival. would have been nice to have come home and found the washing up done. I need to go and do it now, but I'm wasting time on here instead while boys asleep, oops, naughtyuni.
Solids- still not popular with boy. good on sunday crap yesterday, same stuff same spoon, only differnce was sunday he was on daddies lap or mine and yesterday was in high chair. He still having plenty of mums milk tho and still on 50th centile ( did weigh in for 1st time in a month yesterday) so no worries yet. Trying spoons anfd gloop at some meals and fingerfood at others, sooner or later something will click.
Party- was fun, hard work, tiring but good to see so many of teh family together, havn;t done a bash like that since our wedding 10 years ago. I managed to get to sunday afteroon before argueing with MiL who then sulked for 2 hours!

Frizbe · 05/09/2006 12:47

Oh its all gone pear here....Uncle died this am...poor cousin was the only one who could get to him in time as shes lodging in SCBU never heard my mum so upset, think she's grieving for my gran at the same time (who died ages ago, but mums never really delt with it, just cracked on as it were) day here.....can't even go and comfort mum as have to get ss back home in a bit.....

Uni glad you had a good time, your story about MIL sulking for two hours has cheered me up no end

LL, yes THAT FRONT ROFL just small ones then is it, I can meet mon and tues with just small one, otherwise you'll have to meet my eldest terror!

Astro, glad HV didn't mention the bottle thing, you sound like your doing fine, just lob a few more purees or yogs his way, I found a great breakfast this am, oatibix on their own, do not cut the mustard here, blank refusal after 1st mouthful, but lob a petit filous in and wey hey! a meal

not fully caught up girls - that would tkae ages! so sorry if I miss anything vital - but please feel free to fill me in on anything)

astrophe - how old is DS now? Joey went thru a horrid stage when we first got here he was 22/23 weeks I think an extra jar of food (yes I did jars for a bit whilst moving lol) sorted him out, althou that said the week after he was an absolute nightmare, and was for about the past 2 weeks, however now i've added breakfast in as well and last night the little man was an absolute dream for me so happy mummy here! he basically has either an oat/apple powdered brekkie of a weetabix (well half of one with formula and a boob upon waking up) approx 6.30-7 ish, then a 6oz bottle at 9.30-10 ish, then either 2 pots at noon one savoury and one sweet or my own pots (same size as those jar thingys) with water, then at 2.30 ish he'll have a 6/7oz bottle (have added this is as well to see if it settles him a bit more) also this one i've been giving him the hungry baby milk - not sure if I should or not but for me the proof has been in him settleing 1000 times better than b4, then at 4.30-5 he has the same as dinner (well differnt thing but same amount) then bath boob and bed awake at 7 - again I've found if I put him up[ asleep we have screaming for an hour before he settles again - awake and he's loads better. might help out for u?? also he's just cut 2 teeth which explains last weeks scream till I go horse episode is it possible your LO's also ready to cut teeth? I didn't realise he had till I felt in his gum and they were there . i'm sure your not starving your LO - it's just hard to know how much to give htem when weaning/starting to isn't it.

friz - mis management at birth that's dreadful. as I said on the beanies thread will be thinking of the LO and really hoping for some good news.

anything from rom on how/if she managed to get romi sleeping on her back/saide? the towels arn't stopping joey from moving all about his cot - we're at the food end were length ways we've got screaming at the top of our lungs cos our legs traped in the bars! nightmare! lol. still he's sleeping well once he's there! lol.

we went to a coffee morning today - was ok, joey's got a play mate - girl - typical of him! lol. good night last night, down at 7pm (after about 20 mins of fussing/calpol in the end as these teeth still play up some nights) was asleep, checked on him at 10 and he had the blanket round his head so that came off and left him asleep with just the vest on - woohooo no swaddaling! que me to wake at 3 for a pee and check on him - good job as well cos he was face down again on his matress anyhow fed/bum change and then I woke him at 7.30 this morning a real cracker last night for him.

anyhow guess boy will be up in a bit as he's been down for a while so gaurentted as soon as the kettle boils and my brew's ready for me to watch goodnightsweetheart he'll wake up! lol.

ooh friz - deal or no deal did u see lance got 87K? I liked my lance! lol.

UniSarah · 05/09/2006 15:39

Arrr Friz , glad MiL sulking cheered someone up ;-) , I think shes menopausal, I'm pre menstral, its was bound to end in tears or strops really.

Frizbe · 05/09/2006 20:30

Lance got 87k wow! fabby, no I missed it, was it on todays, as I was taking ss back to his mums. I missed yesterdays as well tho in fact I only realised it was back on when CSWS pointed it out on friday so caught sat's show

So has he woken up again yet then Munz?
Lol at Joeys new playmate/GF!

Uni, sorry to be direct but have you got your periods back, cause I haven't yet? has anyone else?

Currently waiting for a curry here, dh has come home and been an angel, brought me some flowers, a bottle of wine and some choc and got a curry in, he's a love, he really is
Mum and Dad have gone to my Aunties......I want to go too and give my cousin the biggest hugs but am giving them space, which I really think they'll need at the moment, at least my mum can support my Auntie to free her kids up a bit, as they have other things to concentrate on.

Hi All

Astro dd (bf) dropped thro the centiles ds (ff) has n't but then teh centiles are for formula fed babies and no real gauge so long as everything looks in proportion don'y worry
well ds is into eating anything and everything ans moves remarkable quick for ne who can not crawl in a strange rolling sliding manner - dd is not happy cos he trashed one of her comixcs but hopefull this will help to remember to not to leave everything on the floor,

Friz sending you my best wishes I hope things get easier soon.

laundrylover · 05/09/2006 22:05

Hello, good turnout tonight girls!
Hugs to you Friz - I guess this was the inevitable outcome for your uncle but still so sad for all of you.
Periods - still not got mine (am beating last time's 4 month return) but have tried out (in??) my new Mooncup in readiness and have converted my sis too!!!
Had a really nice day with the girls today (phew) and boobs a little better (dug out my ancient tubes of Kamillisan and Canesten and seem to have a hit formula!). Got antibiotic cream for Kiah's eye too. All in all am feeling a bit more human.
Sarah/Astro/Munz - like Gothic says don't fret about feeding and sleeping yet it's still early days eh? Chill out, leave the washing up for your fella to do and get MNing!!
I can do any day meet up with or without Tilly....see how relaxed about life I am!!!! Have been looking at the Andalucia guide book and dreaming about a toddler free day that we are planning in Granada next week......bliss!

Frizbe · 05/09/2006 22:58

LL that sounds like heaven you have a damn good time over there
Glad your norks are a little less sore
Was looking at the mooncups and debating getting one too!

Thanks Friz - how you bearing up woman?
We are staying near Marbella on a freebie chav holiday!!

Frizbe · 06/09/2006 08:18

Hi LL! I'm doing ok at the mo, but then the kids have just slept all night dd1 8-7.30 dd2 7.30-7.30 how did that happen?
I think I may find it harder when mum gets here later tho, she was sooooo upset yesterday he was her eldest bro if I remember rightly (she's one of 6, the smallest, my gran always used to say she'd have strangled her if she'd been another boy and the one who always looked after her)
So how's everyone else?

OP posts:
UniSarah · 06/09/2006 18:01

Friz- periods returned when boy was 7 wks- damm, double damm, I wanted more of a break. Since when my cycle has been betwewen 11 and 32 days, looks like its settling a bit now at teh top end of the range thankfully, 11 days was toooo short. They were back quicker this time than after my miscarriage- go figure- but was iregular for months then as well.
better go a rescue boy, hes creeping around on teh floor and getting grumpy. Dh is working late at short notice so I'm on my own again. bluegh.

Frizbe · 06/09/2006 18:57

Uni, how odd, damn cycles eh!
Been upto the hospital today, cousins little one is so cute, bless him, he's had an MRI this morning, results on Friday. Seen my auntie as well, she's doing ok too.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 06/09/2006 20:15

Friz, glad the little one is ok and a cutie - let us know what the mri reveals. Hope you are coping ok with your Mum and Auntie's grief, as well as your own.

I also got periods back far too early, but have gone away again and none for about 6 weeks now. I hope I'm not pregnant. Can you imagine that! Arrgh!

Doing ok here - desperately trying to plump up ds to get him sleeping again, although of course that may have nothing to do with it. Last night we resorted to calpol and neurofen which finally got him off for 5 1/5 hours, so maybe its teeth? He has also had much better sleep during the day today (a 1 hour morning nap and a 2 hour arvo nap!!!) and seemed much happier, so possible he just got himself all worked up into a 'too tired to sleep' frenzy. Fingers crossed.

Am def up for another meet up but might be hard to leave dd behind as she is only at nursery 1 morning a week and i have to collect her at 1pm, so not much time, unless we are pretty close to Derby and meet earlyish? Otherwise could see if nursery would have her longer. Oh, speaking of which...she didn't cry at nursery today!!! This is a first, as we normally have hysterical tears when Daddy drops her off, then intermitent tears all day!! Hurrah! At least thats something I no longer have to feel guilty about!

LL, how are you ailments?

Munz, thanks for the tips and solidarity, hope your DS is being good to you. Hows the new place?

Astrophe · 06/09/2006 20:17

rude Astro! forgot to say "hello Uni!"

Jackstini · 06/09/2006 22:59

Hi all. Have finally caught up with the thread - thank LL for pointing me in the right direction from the other one!
Friz - hope your Mum is dealing with your family issues better - really thinking of your cousin too
So much has happened with all our babies then! Have just started weaning dd at 5.5 months. She is below the 2nd centile now from 75th at birth - but then she was 9 days overdue (20 by my dates) and all our family are tiny so not too worried. Plus all the specialists she saw for her heart murmur (which is all clear now - valve healed - yippee!!) said she is a very healthy and alert baby. Still have to see doc every 4 weeks as she is so tiny but ignore the stupid one who suggested baby rice top up at 3.5 months Am still bf except for her 3 nursery days when she has as much as I can express then topped up with formula. How mobile are all your littlies now? dd has managed front to back roll twice but that's all folks. She loves sitting but keeps twisting herself out her Bumbo - little minx
Am deffo going to try and keep up to date on this thread now and yes am up for a meet up soon

Frizbe · 07/09/2006 10:48

Hi Jackstini, nice to see you back with us
at the 3.5 baby rice suggestion too....male doc per chance?
Huge congrats on the heart valve being ok now too, phew eh and {{{Hugs}}}
well done on the still bf too, I'm onto two bottles of formula a day now, as was/am eventually weaning dd2 now, harhar, her evening feed and her dream feed are formula, the rest is boob as its more convienient! (how lazy am I!) also gives dh no excuses for not participating, when he's here! lol

Astro, thanks hon, we're doing ok, fingers v x'd for tomorrow, I've scared myself this am, looking it up in a nice direct medical dictionary, so then I had to do more research on the net, to get a nicer version again.....still we won't know until tomorrow, so no point in me worrying for things that might not be eh! It just such a horrible shock for my cousin, as you expect everything to be alright at birth, when its been ok on all of your scans.......I want a magic wand to make it all better for her you know, anyone know where I can get one? ebay? they do everything else right?

LL, Uni, Munz, Cad, how are your days, anyone seen Rom, Rom where are you??

Righty must go and get dressed and go out! we're supposed to be at a friends for a picnic in 10mins.....ahem...

OP posts:
laundrylover · 07/09/2006 11:34

Just sneaking online whist rocking Kiah in buggy - good multi tasking eh?
Jack - what does your DD weigh now - both mine are wee things and it sounds like you're doing fine to me. So good to hear that her heart murmur has cleared up.
Friz- your girls must know you need some sleep ATM eh? what stars! Will check this eve for more news....
Sarah, your periods sound awful! Time for number two eh???
Astro, have a look at the thread 'Am I depressed or just crap?' it really rang true for me - see what you think?
Let's meet up with toddlers too then - Tilly will love it anyway, seeing 'baby Luie' again!! Weds and Thurs I pay for nursery so any other day OK. Jack, where are you based???
BTW boobs on the mend, left one just needs to heal and kids grotty skin much better too. Kiah had her pneummo jab yesterday so we are becoming a permanent fixture at the docs surgery!

Jackstini · 07/09/2006 14:39

Very impressed with the multi tasking LL!Am based in north Notts quite near Friz and happy to drive to a meet-up
DD was 12lb 2oz at 23 weeks - just fallen below second centile - she is very dainty indeed.
Yes Friz - it was a male doc suggested the baby rice!! He is usually quite good and got 4 kids of his own so I was v. surprised.
v of all those with sleeping thru babies think I am luckiest mum in world if she goes from 10 - 6 with only one feed/wake up. The most I have ever got is one night from 9.30-5! Not such fun when I am doing a 40+ hour working week.

Jackstini · 07/09/2006 14:50

Also just seen this notts meet up thread for those who live near here here

Frizbe · 07/09/2006 16:20

Thanks for the link jackstini, I'm up for that, shall we try and meet near Derby in the meantime to make life easier for Astro? mind you that makes like harder for LL, dunno, whaddya reckon girls, where is best? we could go Carsington Water, now has indoor play there? or Chucklebutties at Belper? LL what's over your way?

OP posts:
Jackstini · 07/09/2006 22:30

Am used to whizzing up and down country so I'm easy - where are you LL?

Frizbe · 08/09/2006 09:56

Cousin's been transfered down to Kings, London, nearer home for her, so fingers x'd for the results being good today girls

at the death cert for uncle tho, thrombosis = negligance (they certainly weren't treating him for this)...... family are sueing.... because this is also what FIL died of, and MIL got payout for this, so hoping Auntie will as well.

Hope your all well out there?

OP posts:
Jackstini · 08/09/2006 11:33

Oh Friz that's terrible about your uncle Glad your cousin is nearer loved ones - this must be so hard for her, will be praying for good results today.
Am ok - just feeling tired today. dd woke at 12.30, 2.15, 4.30 & 6.40. What am I doing wrong....?
