Loads of laughing but still no rolling - she is officially a lazy lump!

laundrylover · 03/08/2006 23:02

Sorry Gothic forgot to say hurrah at your witnessing THE roll!

chellebelle · 03/08/2006 23:37

Have had rolling from front to back for a while but have been sooooo close to rolling from back to front for ages and still not happening. Have to say she gets closer to it when she's having some nappy off time than any other time. And yes, I love it when she laughs, never fails to bring a smile to my face. Seems our little madam is very ticklish and loves it when you blow raspberries on her feet . Tried her in a swing the other day at the park when I took DS and she really loved it.

Am sitting here debating whether or not to wake her for her 11.30ish feed or whether to let he go as long as she can and deal with it when she wakes up. Hmmm... really can't decide right now. Think I'll have a go on my game and if she hasn't woken up by the time I die will leave her to go through.

p.s. I know this is a thread about our little ones but I have to just tell you all how proud I am of my DS at the moment. He's beeen on a crash course of swimming lessons this week and today he managed a whole width (about 10 meters) on his front without a body belt or anything and half a width on his back ( of a v. proud mum), and his teacher has said that she wants him to do the whole lesson tomorrow without his belt on. Bearing in mind he's never swam any real distance without some sort of bouyancy aid before he's doing amazingly. .

chellebelle · 03/08/2006 23:38

Yay for gothic boy!!!

Flamesparrow · 04/08/2006 16:41

Sorry... crashing in an attempt to find Munz (been posting a shout for her in chat...) - hows things going now? Any more settled?

laundrylover · 04/08/2006 20:49

Chelle, how old is your DS - he sounds like he's an Olympic swimmer in the making. Kiah had a little go in the swing today too but was a bit small and slipped down. DP has just dug the doorswing out from storage for tomorrow though.
My God just seen Davinas bump on TV - surely she can't get any bigger?!
Yesterday I had a very silly accident involving hemp handcream and a cup of tea which resulted in me breaking the laptop. Thankfully an afternoon upside in the hot conservatory (the laptop, not me!) did the trick but was in panic mode as am crap at backing up my work and photos.

gothicmama · 04/08/2006 21:10

ll sounds an interesting accident glad all ok tho, chellbelle welldone to your ds

UniSarah · 04/08/2006 22:19

woooot- I'm back...
Just done a catch up scan read, goodnes you have been chatty.
Hi 2 QT.
Uni championships where fun, bit different having boy around. didn;t get to watch some of teh best bits as they were in the evenings and he didn;t cope too well with being kept up late in hot smelly sports halls.
However- I did get 3rd place in 2 events and and 2nd in 3. So I';m happy. DHs basket ball team did better than ever before and actully won a game or 2. His hockey team got to teh 1/4 finals, mine got stuffed in the group stage :-(
Boy has brought home his 1st 2 teeth and some hair so he had a busy fortnight too.
off to bed soon, am knackered , been a long dive back from Switzerland.

laundrylover · 05/08/2006 12:32

Welcome back Sarah - the hols sounded like fun. Any pics on your website?
2 teeth??? Wow, watch those nipples! Never had this prob myself as Tilly was nearly 1 when she snuck her first one out on the flight back from Argentina. My friends recommend nipple shields if they start biting - ouch!
Forget to say that as well as breaking the computer the other day I also fell down stairs with the nappy bucket in a cascade of stinking nappies!
Have gone mad shopping on ebay and have moved from nappies to funky fleece wipes and liners - a bit bored with my homemade cream ones and sick of crunchy flannels.

UniSarah · 05/08/2006 21:16

LL- that sounds smelly.... still on littel terry wipes here, not gone crunchy yet and sooo good for getting pooh off boys backside. Was nice to get back to cloth after 2 weeks of disys. I tryed a swis brand for the 2nd week of our trip- Fixies. not bad, smelt wayyyy better than pampers( the alternative at the swiss Coop shop), tho not as eco as nature.
Teeth seem to be giving boy greif at times. poor sausage, hes also all snotty so I think he picked up a cold.
No pics on web site yet, will be some day- but mostly they are of boy and daddy I didn't actully remember to take many of people on unicyces... except during a hockey match when boy fell asleep on some one else so i could concetrate on watching dh's team get thrashed by a german super team.
It was n't too bad having boy with us, he spent a fair bit of time with other people, my mum, a few friends, all the women from team Australia ( i think they were ALL child careworkers!). The only woman from team Corea ( Korea) was in may age group for racing, and she thought he was soooo cute, she'd have taken him home. Boy came up to the medals podium with me twice for raceing medals.
oh- better go and water the garden, its getting dark and boys bath water is still in teh bath.

Frizbe · 06/08/2006 08:56

I'm back and I'm broken, oh why oh why did I think it was a good idea to go out for birthday drinkies with the girls......how do you explain to a two year old, why the corpses of your friends on the living room floor, won't get up and play.......more later when I read the thread and sober up needless to say dd2 is on bottles this am!

OP posts:
Frizbe · 06/08/2006 20:45

Ok I'm back and slightly more alive, had a wonderful week in Devon, on nice organic farm, kids fetched the eggs from the chickens, fed the ponies, sheep and cows, ss got his 1st ride on a horse, so all very happy, lots of beach fun, sandcastles, splashing n the like steam train rides, otters n butterflies as well, oh and we went to see our Auntie in Cornwall for the day, who spoilt the kids rotten, gave them money, then let them run riot in her gallery tea shop, they came home with virtually everything they picked up and said they liked and we got to eat lots of nice free cream teas that day [fat porker emoticon] So back in diet tomorrow I guess!!
Soooo went out last night for birthday drinkies and ouch my poor sore head this am, seems the girls were feeding me trebles, ho hum.....still its the 1st time I've gotten ratted in over a year, so what the hell, felt lots better after one of them shifted off the living room floor and cooked us all breakfast (an angel!) then bailed to the grandparents this afternoon so kids could be looked after by them, whilst I sat and recovered with cup or two of tea in living room by myself!! (dh working all weekend again!)

Sarah glad you had a great time in Switzerland, congrats on the medals

Munz, stuff the HV, your doing fine, dd2 has dropped to the 25th centile and is staying there happily, bf babies often do you know?!

Astrophe · 06/08/2006 21:57

Welcome back Friz and UniS, glad you both had great holidays. Happy Birthday Friz!

Nothing much happening here, my folks are over so stayed with us last week. DD was sick so they went out galavanting while I stayed home with the kids They have gone B&B-ing this week, then back the week after.

Last time Mum came (right after DS was born) she was a huge help, but this time they sem to be here mainly to sight - see...which is an unwelcome surprise! Was really looking forward to sleep-ins, toddler free shopping days, nights out with DH...'tis a shame but what can you do eh?

Family...who'd have 'em.

Hope Monday treats you all well...I hate Mondays...house is a tip and never have any enthusiasm of a Monday. Whige. Whinge. Whinge.

laundrylover · 06/08/2006 22:26

Your hols sound fab Friz and well done on getting ratted.
We went and picked up our e-bay tent today and then put it up in the out-laws garden - how excited was Tilly?? It's still there in the rain. So is my washing.....
Glad that lots of babies on here have dropped down the weight charts. Kiah has the porkiest little legs ever so must have stopped growing everywhere else.

UniSarah · 06/08/2006 22:26

WTF- have you guys noticed this
www.mumsnet.com/lw/state.html

seems a tad extreme on teh complainants part. Wonder if it was something I said... seem to remember being unimpressed by one of the books.

Poor boy has had a bad start to the night- his daily pooh was rather late and happened just after his bedtime feed... so he was very awake when he went in to teh cot after having had a nappy change. I did try him with more milk, but he was full and refused to take any more.
hes been a star today at a wedding, kicked teh 8 month old who had poked him and pinched his teething ring:-) neither of them hurt the other but was rather funny to watch them tussleing for blanket space and toys.

laundrylover · 06/08/2006 22:27

Yeah I scanned the statement - what a sad state of affairs eh?

chellebelle · 07/08/2006 13:41

Yay!!!! We had our first roll from back to front yesterday she had been sooo close for sooo long and now at last she can do it (although haven't had chance to see if she can do it again today yet).

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear friiiiiiiiizzzzzzz... ... ... ... happy birthday to you!!!!! [

Astrophe · 07/08/2006 16:29

Yay Chelle-baby! Its so exciting sin't it! (except that ds now only sleeps on his tum...not so good!)

Chelle, you have put me to shame, I have brought some washing in...and...been out to lunch....and...spent the day following the thread about An Unmentionable Babycare So-Called Expert. Naughty me.

But you have inspired me...will go and tidy kitchen and put washing out before DH comes home

Astrophe · 07/08/2006 16:30

oh no...ds waking up...serves me right.

UniSarah · 07/08/2006 17:26

OHHH- Astro- where where! i want to lurk on a thread about an US-CBCE :-) sounds fun.

Boy is asleep again. He was getting cranky so I put him into his cot with his dummy ... he fell asleep. Hurrah. I need to wake him soon, to feed before I go running.
Poundland had water filled fridgeable teething rings 2 for a pound. I'm going to try him with them them.
Just got my next bounty bag- bit dispaointed in teh range of samples. but it did have a split in the bottom, so maybe I'm a short of something.

Quootiepie · 07/08/2006 17:29

bounty bag was tiny.... no decent leaflets or anything really.

Astrophe · 07/08/2006 17:39

here is the original one, but a new one has been started here .

Its outrageous.

Frizbe · 07/08/2006 22:05

Might have to check that thread, its a sad day......let's hope they don't take mumsnet off air....we'll have to meet on Just4mumz if they do.......
Astro, shame about your folkes, let's hope they make up for it next week
Thanks for your birthday thoughts all and the song chellebelle
LL, Tilly does not have huge thighs
Munz, I've told Flame to have a meet up with you when you get settled!

LL, Gothic, Astrophe and anyone else whose kicking around (Jackstini?) the Feb thread are organising a Meadowhall meet up so wouldyou like to join us, no dates set yet mind, but will copy the agreement post once its bashed out!

OP posts:
laundrylover · 08/08/2006 09:21

Friz, would love to join in the meet up so keep us posted. Wonder where Jackstini is as haven't seen her around for yonks - do remember that she had to go back to work early though. It's Kiah who has the thunder thighs - they are gorgeous.
No kids today between feeds so am meant to be writing a proposal but will no doubt be distracted by the US-CBE shenanigans! Hope they've sorted out that typo on the petition tho as the proof reader in me is getting stressed about it!

Frizbe · 08/08/2006 09:23

lol oopse! don't think Kiah has either tho!! will keep everyone updated!
Oh what to do with bored 8 year old ss this week, he doesn't want to do 'anything' seems we have an early teenager on our hands......(think Kevin n Perry)
