munz · 27/07/2006 14:52

lol, it would ast, maybe i'd best hold back on that then for the next 3/4 weeks to be safe, - we have so much to choose from wiht all the others! lol, althou yes it would be up settin to chuck away all the goodie! lol.

now girls big question, how many of u walk around the shop tlaking to ur baby who obviously can't talk back, and get weird looks? lol. I was saying to joey in morrisions, one peach for Joey one peach for mummy, - ie u try it i'll try it sort of thing and this woman loked at me as if I was mad! lol. (althou so was the boy )

Frizbe · 27/07/2006 15:05

Phew its sooo hot, and the damn storms keep missing us (and they can continue to do so until my washing is dry!) we'll done the ironing, both kids are in bed, dd1 has headache.....and had runny poo at playcentre this am.....had to bring her home with no pants or skirt on......had a slight accident, so hoping its just the heat, and too much real fruit/fruit juice this am and no a bug as we go away tomorrow Can't do any packing tho, as cases in loft, behind dh's assorted crap! so have time to mumsnet instead, hurrah!! will no doubt be headless chicken tomorrow am instead, with lots of kids in way.....

LL thanks for the reminder about the dairy, I couldn't remember

Munz I talk to myself if the kids aren't there, now that does get you weird looks

Hello from sunny (HOT) Vienna.

I only have a brief moment on a public internet site to say hello so forgive me me for only leaving a quick hello.

We have found a house and bought a car! I am feeling rather excited about the whole thing since we haven't owned a vehicle for 6 1/2 years. The moves have been a nightmare and I will be so glad to be out of the hotel room on the 1st. DD2 continues to charm everyone with her giggles and grins but her sleeping has become atrocious... I will need serious advice if this continues once we are settled in our own place. She was up at least 5 times last night (expecting to be fed).

Frizbe · 27/07/2006 17:21

caddy for the feeding, but probably weather related and she'll be lots more settled once you all are too!
Hurrah for the Car and House you'll be able to make a home again, yeah!

laundrylover · 27/07/2006 21:26

Hi Cad - nice to have you back and glad you made it to Vienna. Hope that sleeping settles soon....
Friz, have a good hol - where you off to?
We are off to the in-laws caravan this w/e - Kiah's first visit to her place of conception!
Well we went to the auction and I got a few bids in but the plot went for 15k over our limit. Anyway it was all good experience and now we know it is what we want to do we can start searching in earnest. There were so many people at the auction that they were operating a one out, one in policy!! Seems like we're not the only 'Homes under the Hammer' fans!

munz · 27/07/2006 21:26

rom - I saw this and thought of u MN thread

cads - I feel for u hon, just been thru the lack of sleep myself, how long have u been there now? could she possibly still be getting used to the time zone differnces as well as everything else?

friz - LMAO - it's when u answer urself u need to worry! lol. sorry to hear about DD1, fingers x'ed iot's not a bug or something as u're going away.

anyhow done a bit of brocali for tomorrow's lunch - i'll be amazed if the boy eats it it smells vile (and looks it). any ideas when u can start BLW? i'm thinking bit of BLW bit of me feeding him, he had a bit of a suck on some chunks yesterday and seemed to enjoy that better than the banana I tried to feed him today.

munz · 27/07/2006 21:27

ooh LL - I love that show soo many ideas sooo little money! lol.

laundrylover · 27/07/2006 21:31

What is BLW????
Oh also if you have loads of unwanted puree that is sitting in the freezer you can always chuck it into soup or pasta sauce etc. instead of the bin. Adds to your 5 a day!!

munz · 27/07/2006 21:33

lol - have u seen the broc pureed? it is sooo not appertising! lol) baby led weaning. jeoy shoved the spoon in his mouth and when I do try witht eh spoon we have it in the hair in the eyes up the nose cos i'm trying to get it in the mouth region and he want's to help must say i'm finding it highly amusing! lol.

Frizbe · 27/07/2006 22:04

LL, sunny or rainy Devon, depending on what happens with the weather I wanna go now, but have to wait until we can collect ss tomorrow, pah.......hate having to hang around when I'm ready for the off!!
Sorry about the plot, but good experience like you say, good luck with the next one!

gothicmama · 28/07/2006 20:07

Munz - just wanted to say following on from the other thread do what uis right for you and Joey, babies need love and warmth and security etc as much as they need bf a happy mummy makes for a happy baby and you give them so much more if you are on top form.

have you tried pureed spinach yet (worse than broc I think )

munz · 28/07/2006 20:55

have a nice time friz

GM - which thread was that hon? touch wood that swaddle wrap thingy i'm using is fab, totally love it. boy can escape but it's loads better than a blanket cos he can't kick it up around his neck and get me worrying he'll strangle himself - had to wake him up this morning at 6.45 after the stirred at 5.30 and sent himself back to sleep again.

spinich - hmm, i'm afraid that's one i'll not try and DH doens't like so he won't be having that, althou everything else i'm giving him i'm having as well, so it's doing both of us good.

the sweet pots went down well once they were cold! lol. the broc - hmm, not too sure bout that one, again liked it cold - weird boy! lol. he had about 1 cute between then and then a suck on some banana with me holding it - I don't understand that he didn't like it yesterday when it was mashed up and on a spoon but as a chunck he quite enjoed it (didn't actually eat much but I was more intrested in him getting used to teh flavour/feel of it! lol) we had to have a change of clothes thou!

laundrylover · 28/07/2006 21:57

Just dropping by but remembered that someone asked about cooking sweet potato. Best way is to bake it and then feed the middle to the baby whilst scoffing the caramalised skin with butter yourself. Yum!

gothicmama · 29/07/2006 06:16

Munz,the formula vs breastfeeding one.
As we are vegetarian I try and get them to eat spinach cos of the iron. Ds is liking cold food best atthe mo as well must be the heat or something
Glad teh swaddle thingy has worked,

LL that is lovely isn't it. We are on to butternut suash today

oh right thanks goth, I must admit that since being a mum i've never felt so guilty/second guessed my choices as much. I guess it's what comes wiht being a mummy, but as u say all u can do is ur best and hope it all works out. I was wondering last night - how on earth do u raise a child, but I guess u work it out as u go along??

when is it they can start having meat from?

i'm going to be naughty today and give him one of my jars I forgot to do some more trays up last night - at the mo i've done one tray half broc half Sweet pot so not too much if the boy goes off em! still I think tonight i'll get some carrot and BNS/swede done as well. then he can have a little selection. gotta say thou girls, we had a lovely nappy this monring! (if this is what weanin's gonna be like DH can do the smelly ones! lol)

Astrophe · 29/07/2006 23:05

Hi all,
My folks arrived this morning so I might not be around much for the nxt 3 weeks..will try to drop in and say hi though, and check up on you all

My Dad met ds for the first time and was very pleased to see his first grandson. They can't believe how much dd has grown up in 7 months...(wow, can't believe we have been here that long!)

Munz, so gad your wrap is working well..I have a friend who has a wrapping method she says is foolproof(and baby proof!) so I've drawn you a picture ! Don't laugh (too much!) at me, I'm not very skilled at drawing with a mouse! But it might help!

I think you can give meat from 7/8 months if I remember right...def not sooner than 6 though.
My lad had potato, spinich and cheese today and enjoyed that, but he really prefers sweet potato and pumpkiny things...can't say I blame him! Yummm.

LL, bad luck with the plot, but how exciting to now be officially 'looking'! Hope you find something fab in time.

Cadmum, great to have you back, hope your family are settling in to vienna well.

Rom what news of Miss Face-planter? Hope you're all ok.

Off to bed, g'night girls.

munz · 30/07/2006 11:04

LMAO @ astrophe! lol, that's fab hon! I never thought to try the arms under the fold will give it a go later on I think, he's getting out of the wrap still but it's tkaing more of an effort. up every 2 hours yeazsterday, but I came on today so wondering if there's a link somewhere??

mum/dad also down here for the next week, then we move thurs week well furniture will be going on the weds so we'll be without bb for a few weeks

romilly · 31/07/2006 19:26

hi girls - sorry i've been too stressed out and tired to post.

astro - we had something of a breakthrough since the weather got cooler and i can now put her in a 0.5 tog sleeping bag - then i tuck it in to the foot of the mattress - and then wedge in a rolled up sheet in the gap at the end of the cot. this means she cant kick up high enough to propel herself over, it worked brilliantly the first night, she stayed on her back, but this morning she managed to sort of twist over and still get stuck i am just praying that was a one-off.

will catch up with all your news now..

munz · 31/07/2006 19:40

ooh rom did u see jersey's had her little one?

romilly · 31/07/2006 20:07

romilly · 01/08/2006 11:16

found her thread. great news

does anyone know if the hot weather is due to return? i am finding things SO much easier now its cooler.

we had a solid stretch of 5 hours sleep last night - bliss!!!!!!!!! never thought i'd be so appreciative of 5 hours kip, i used to be peed off if i had to get up at 6am for a flight or something! oh how things change....

munz · 01/08/2006 19:08

it is so pleased for her.

erm it's not ment to get as hot in aug no rom - i'm glad as well, althou i've been up every 2 hours the cooler weather's sooo much better.

trying a new tatic again tonight, - mum seems to think the boy's cold on a night and he should have a blanket on as well as a sheet and vest/nappy - we shall see. he had 3/4 of a little pot today as well - porker! lol. how much of those pot thingy's should he be having does anyone know?

gothicmama · 01/08/2006 19:35

Munz hope the blanket works,

By pot thingy do you mean teh baby fromage frais yog things my boy eats a pot but has eaten 2 not sure on teh max number but if he wants more I use switch to a fruit puree after. It is so much more refreshing now it is cooler and we seem to get so much more done
