Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gothicmama · 02/07/2006 21:00

sounds ok to me - not sure on directions yet will get that sorted

Astrophe · 02/07/2006 21:00

am back.
its dd with the sick tummy, ds just having a post-booby chuck!
DD is sleeping soundly - no idea how as its like a sauna upstairs.

Just looked at Chatsworth on aa route finder. Looks like its bout 1h along the A6. I should be able to find it...I think

laundrylover · 02/07/2006 21:08

Sorry Astro got muddled on the genders of your kids!
Friz you are very knowledgeable about Chatsworth - I am impressed. Why don't we settle on the 19th and then work out details nearer the time. The cafe at the farm shopsounds lovely but Tilly would love the farm and playground...means you would have to pay out just for you tho Friz.
Gothic think you only have the one??

Astrophe · 02/07/2006 21:08

sounds good - I will be bringing my dd (shes 2) and ds, so maybe the farm? Shes not great company in a cafe!

This is a bit weird ...I used to pay out my best friend for meeting people off the internet ...but it will be great to meet you all. I really miss my post natal group back in australia. they had a 2nd birthday party for all the 'babies' last week and we wern't there (obviously)

soooo, monday 17th at chatsworth farm(?)...time? not tooo early please!

laundrylover · 02/07/2006 21:10

11am?

Astrophe · 02/07/2006 21:14

no prob ll...i often get muddled re. who has which kids. will be great to put faces to names...if they are your real names

ok, details later...but it 17th, not 19th right?

better go...ds and dh grumbling.

g'night !

Astrophe · 02/07/2006 21:15

sorry, we keep posting at the same time. 11am is good for me.

i'm really going now...

gothicmama · 02/07/2006 21:17

Hi sounds ok it looks like I am about 2 hours away so 11 is fab - I have 2 but dd will be at school on 19th so just me and ds

Frizbe · 02/07/2006 21:23

Argh we're talking monday 17th right?? I can do 11 am!

OP posts:
laundrylover · 02/07/2006 21:25

gothicmama · 02/07/2006 21:32

sorry I meant 17th at 11am am going to bed now I 've caused chaos and panic

UniSarah · 02/07/2006 21:59

Hope you all have fun at Chatsworth you nearly northern types!
Think Ed and my milk have com eto a new arrangement, hes not been so ravenous today thank goodness. Tonight I'll try putting him back to bed after one side at the 3 am feed, normally I have to rewake him at that point so I shaln't bother tonight. Gotto be worth a try. hes been far too awake after that feed for a couple of nights now. Could all be tied in with me feeling cr#p I surpose... we shall see.
At the mo I feel OKish, not sick, have had a small bowl of pasta for tea, guts a bit bubbly but we shall see how it goes over night. I'm still hoping to be OK for tea and cake tomorrow... rather than the water and toast I've been subsisting on for last 4 days.

LL- did you know slugs can swim? I used to chuck themin the pond ( last house) but stopped when I found they can swim and crawl out again. now i bash them with a rock. feels kind of primative and cavewoman like, but it works. snails get a flight to the paving! I hate slugs. Have found that my anti bird netting over the strawberries is doing a good job as a snail catcher.

Astrophe · 03/07/2006 09:48

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNISARAH!

Hope your tum is better.

Frizbe · 03/07/2006 17:54

Indeed Happy Birthday to you Uni hope your feeling lots better!
Girls, I've cheekily invited two extra people with March babies to the Chatsworth meet, so hope you don't mind, I've also mentioned it on the feb thread, as I know Hotmama is closeish by too!

OP posts:
romilly · 03/07/2006 19:37

happy birthday uni

have fun at your meet-up girls. feel a bit left-out

too hot to go anywhere in london this week anyway. its hellish.

UniSarah · 03/07/2006 22:00

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Been almost back to normal today, rather flaked out by the heat but so is every one else.
I did manage cake! My friend very sweeetly picked a light fruit cake rather than out normal chocolatly fav. went to her house and ate cake in the shady bit of the garden.
rather light on the pressie haul so far ( only boy and dh) but we see familly at the weekend so maybe then... or maybe my inlaws will forget my birthday entirely like they did last year MY parents won't tho, something to do with having a b/d one day apart from my mum

laundrylover · 03/07/2006 22:29

Happy Birthday Sarah and so glad you're feeling better enough for cake, even if it wasn't 'proper'!! Don't reckon my slugs would be able to beat the current and then climb 10 ft up from the river but if they can then they deserve another chomp on a petunia . The snails in my cattle trough at the front fly from the hostas across the road to play chicken in the traffic. See how my veggie principles are species specific?
Friz it'll be good to have a few more along - I think!

UniSarah · 04/07/2006 21:10

I swear the boy can tell what I'm planning for over night!
HAving set a 3am alarm to try and wake before he did ...he woke up at 1.30am,having kicked his blanket off and got cold. Oh well, being lazy I gave his a feed and he settled back to sleep quickly and easily and stayed that way till 5am when I gave him another feed and he once again settled back to sleep painlessly.
So as a reward (as if) we went to play at someone elses house today. 4 little boys all around 4 months old. Was quite funny to see them head to head on their tummies and a bit of argy bargy going on over elbow room as they wriggled and rolled at each other. At my house next tuesday!

romilly · 04/07/2006 21:15

uni - you set an alarm for 3am?????? honey you must be sick still ...

romilly · 04/07/2006 21:16

also wondering uni, where do you live that he got cold without a blanket last night???? was 29 degrees in most places in UK indoors!

gothicmama · 05/07/2006 08:57

yes, were are you it was boiling in ours last night, woke up to check ds was n't to hot in just a romper suit

Astrophe · 05/07/2006 09:40

hot here too...was just a t shirt and nappy for my boy¬

My DD is at nursery this morning...only the 2nd time shes been, feel like I've lots an arm. But its SO nice to spend some time just with Eli, its like having my 1st all over again.

Off for his jabs now...poor boy...what a way to spend his 'one on one' time with Mum!

Rom, I'm sad you can't come to our meet up too..sure, its only about 3 hours isn't it!?

Uni - an alarm for 3am

Friz - the more the merrier!

Marne · 05/07/2006 09:45

DD2 has been in just a nappie all week, she still has bad heat rash, we are using i fan to keep her cool but dd1 is scaired of it and keeps screeming at it

We put dd2 in her door bouncer for the first time today and she loves it. She's also started trying to roll over on the floor and tries to get out of her chair.

She slept through for the first time last night (8pm-6am).

They are growing up so fast

chellebelle · 05/07/2006 13:03

Hot here too but Emily just seems to sleep for that bit extra during the day.

I am so frustrated. We had it all sorted, Emily was having her last boob feed at 7.00 then an ebm feed at 11.30pm ish and then would go through til at least 6.30, she's been doing that since about 8 weeks so we were all very happy with that routine. All of a sudden she's started completely refusing the bottle. Think it might be because she's teething and the bottle feels quite hard on it rather than squishy boob but really not sure. It's so frustrating that we had a routine that suited all of us, dh could do the last feed if I was too tired, I knew exactly how much she was having and could encourage her to have more with the bottle and the feed only took half the time of a boob feed. Ended up in tears last night cause I had managed to get 3 oz down her through giving it to her by a medicine syringe but she then proceeded to throw the whole lot back up. So (at 1.30am) I gave in and gave her a small boob feed which she took fine and then kept down no problem.

I really sympathise with those of you whose little ones aren't sleeping through yet. I don't know how you survive on so little sleep!

UniSarah · 05/07/2006 15:26

High on a hill ( lived a lonley goat heard)

We live about 100m above sea level but only a few miles from the sea, can see the sea from half our windows. So it can be cool at night and I've been keeping windows open all night as well. Boy was def cold, his body was cool to touch and legs cold as he was sleeping in just a vest and one layer of cellular blanket. Last night I put him into sleeping bag at 11pm.
The 3am alarm was deperation. apparently the night before ( says dh) boy had been awake and muttering for 10-15 mins before he got loud enough for me to come round. Didn;t do it t last night and to my great releif we had a lovely night with boy dropping off to sleep again at the end of his 1pm and 3.30am feeds. I didn;t! but boy did.I was busy having a 4am wobble about still doing a middle of night feed at 4 months. spoke to SiL on phone last night and she was incredulaous that I still do it and telling me I'm making work for myself and spoliing him.GGRRR. BUT thats a rant for another thread. see you on brest feeding if your interested.
better go now, boys waking up from nap, it been a hour in his cot.
