Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Munz · 29/06/2006 12:56

FRIZ - do u go from their date of birth or their due date? cos don't forget Joey was early (3 weeks by my dates) but he's actually 18 weeks today.

UniSarah · 29/06/2006 14:29

we're over the worst I think. Thankfully. Dh did seem to suffer more than me, but maybe thats cos hes a bloke? May have been an element of me forceing myself to drink water and eat something as DS is dependant on me for his food. Still I was 4 lb lighter this morning than on sunday! That won't last. I havn't had anything more adventurous than rice pudding yet today.
Friz- tis possible, its a small industry. I was in bristol 91-94, then lancaster, leicester, leeds, scarborough( 96-99) and Reading (99-2002) now Exeter. But people move around and tour and I worked in recieveing houses some of the time so saw a lot of people coming through on tour.
Little chaps arms have grown! he now touches the bars on either side of his cot. Its a new game to hit them , and a rather noisey one at 1 in the morning.

laundrylover · 29/06/2006 15:52

Munz is a place is the Pratchett book I'm reading that's why I asked. I would always count weeks from DOB so if you can go another 6 weeks til weaning you'll be getting towards the 6 month mark eh? I lasted until 5.5 months with Tilly but then fed her mushy carrot 'cos I was bored!
Kiah was just having a whinge on her playmat but I was emailling and ignored and now she is fast asleep on her side - awww! She can move all over the mat like a little slug!
Been shopping today and ordered new glasses and sunnies inspired by the Specsavers ads - need an image update I feel! Also went into Boots to buy condoms and they were 2 for 3 so ended up with 36 - hope they've got a long sell by date!!!
Am just gathering evidence to take to docs tomorrow to try and get the whole family treated for this bloody thrush. A less bloody minded woman would have given up breatfeeding by now methinks - ooowwwwwww!!!!

Frizbe · 29/06/2006 17:38

You go LL can meet when ever anyone is free on a monday, apart from most of August! so long as its 11am onwards that is, as have to take ss to school on alternate weeks.

Munz, you go from date of birth! we're 17wks this Saturday! where did all that time go eh! have brought some boots organic porridge and gotten a free sachet of spud in a freebie bag too, so will be chucking a bit of milk into those and shovelling it into madam, to see if she sleeps a bit longer for me! she's keen to get hold of some as has been hankering after every mouthful I've eaten this week! she's started rolling over to get to things properly as well....seems this one is going to be quicker on the move than the 1st..... gona have to start limiting the things dd1 has in the room with her, as she's grabbing as well.....

Uni you could well know several people I know then, as most of them tour! small world.

UniSarah · 29/06/2006 19:20

Eds on a roll! His first, no nappy on, he was trying to look over his shoulder and over balanced. Looked a tad bewilderd to find him self on his tummy. Didn;t seem bothered by hitting his head on the floor.

Frizbe · 29/06/2006 22:24

Yeah! go Ed, go Ed

OP posts:
romilly · 30/06/2006 10:23

lol laundrylover - first metaphor "grunty little piglets" and now a little "slug"

well girls it looks like we've got another HOT hot weekend in store for us.... could be a few more wakeful nights

am off to a baby massage class now. my little slug hasnt pooed for 2 or 3 days now, i reckon she is storing it up for a power poo in the middle of baby massage.

UniSarah · 30/06/2006 18:20

uuurrrgghhh. Illness returned. not good today. AND Eds decided he wants to feed constantly.
Dr gave me some tablets to reduce the sickness so I can keep water down now thankfullly. Ed and I have rediscovered the gentle art of feeding lieing on the bed. Its probadly been less hassle with him today than if he was wanting lots of activity.
Thank chrunchie is't friday. Dh can amause boy between feeds for the next 2 days.Dr wants me back on monday if still ill. Have cancelled my birthday lunch tomorrow :-( I'l have to see how I am on monday ( my borthday) and then decide what to do about tea and cake with friends.
Munz- thanks for teh sypathy on t'other thread

gothicmama · 30/06/2006 20:59

hey Ed'son a roll gothicboy is slideing everywhere on his back but no other signs of movement 3 month jabs this week went ok so that was good.
Nearly finished my placemenmt - so will be able to spend more time with ds
Also can I be considered for the mini meet up I will need to check the map but I think is do able. Thanks

laundrylover · 01/07/2006 15:49

Gothic it would be fab to have you along too - to be honest any Monday is fine for me so shall we start by looking at the 9th July and then see how it goes with the others?
Sarah so sorry that you are still poorly - it sounds like a nightmare and I really hope you pick up for your birthday.
My visit to the docs was hopeless as he wouldn't prescribe flucanazole (it's unlicensed for bfing mums) and said he didn't believe in all this thrush in boobs!! He said that his DIL is due her second and if she says she has it he'll tell her to piss off!!! I said try telling her that when she's crying whilst feeding 'cos it hurts so much. Grrrrr!!!! Anyway it's getting better with cream but I fear it will return as it will stay deep in my ducts (lurking ) but at least I can feed without screaming now.
Off on a hen do tonight and off duty already!!! Just have to pop up to my friend's to give Kiah a last booby blast before we totter off to the train in our compulsory high heels!!! have had to buy some especially but only £5 from New Look. Gonna get blasted on cocktails and Kiah can have boozy milk at 4am - what a terrible mother.

UniSarah · 01/07/2006 18:42

LL- does your practise have a nurse practicioner? round here they are generaly reconed to be better on BF issues than GPS. AND they can perscibe (IIRC)

Am feeling a tad better today- anti nuesea pills have workd fairly well. so far I've managed water, 3 bits of toast ( spread out) and half a banana, gona try some plain rice at dinner time. Ed still ravanous. Stood on scales and 12lb 2! was 12 12 last weekend.eek. suspect it'll pile back on once I'm back to normall, esp if I have birthday cake on monday.

Frizbe · 01/07/2006 20:21

{{{{Big Hugs}}} UniSarah, really hope your feeling lots better soon, its no fun, especially in this heat, and especially on your birthday weekend was it a takeaway that did it??

Gothic, be very nice to meet you!

LL, the 9ths a Sunday and I'm afraid I can't make it, can do Mon 17th if any good?

Rom, hope the poo hasn't been too bad and that it has actually happened by now!

Roasting here today as I'm assuming all the UK is? kids have been playing in the garden happily all day, with no major scraps, phew! dd2 has been happily gurgling on her mat and practising her rolling, seems to have found her feet as keep stuffing them into her mouth!

OP posts:
romilly · 01/07/2006 22:01

friz - roasting in london too. whereabouts are you all meeting up? am v. sorry i cant gatecrash, would love to meet you all.

friz, we had the power poo this morning am happy to report. it was one of those ones that somehow manage to go right up their backs (mmm mmmmm) and you practically have to bin the clothes they were in unless you have a whole bar of vanish to hand. lovely.

well romi woke up this morning with one leg poking out the side of her cot because it was too hot to put her in her sleeping bag. obviously she had kicked her way 180 degrees round the cot and poor little thing got her leg wedged between the bars. has this happened to anyone else?

uni - hope you r better hon.

Frizbe · 01/07/2006 22:30

Hi Rom

That's not happened with dd2 yet, but it used to with dd1 and she still tries to sleep sideways in her bed now....I'm often to be found in there straightening her up in the night mind you I remember as a kid I often used to sleep all over the shop as well, so they're just taking after me!

Think we're meeting at Chatsworth??

OP posts:
UniSarah · 02/07/2006 11:58

Thanks Friz- not a takeaway, twas a supermarket fishcake I think, tasted great on the way down! had nice big bits of haddock. unfortunatly it seems it hadn't liked the warm weather.
Feeling somewhat better today. Tobe honest I hadn't noticed the hot weather, been to shivery for that. We had a HUUGE thunder storm hee at 7am.

Maybe it's coz I've been ill but dealing with Ed inthe middle ofthenigts been really hard the last few days. This morning at 5am i went crying to dh in the spare room and told him to take over as i couldn't get boy to go back to sleeep after his 3ish feed. I was reallly losing my patenice. Then OF course boy took about 5 mins to nod off... ho hum. I enjoyed the spare bed for a couple of hours.

gothicmama · 02/07/2006 16:50

hope you better soon uni-

The 17th sounds good to me - it is way too hot here - having hot grumpy children is no fun when you are tired

laundrylover · 02/07/2006 20:42

Just had your thunderstorm up here and we really needed it. Off out on slug patrol soon (they go on an enforced river cruise!)as it's ideal weather.
Sorry about wrong date Friz, I obviously can't read the calendar from the sofa! The 17th is fine for me as is Chatsworth but will Astro be able to find it easy enough??
Sarah you sound really miserable so sending you hugs and get well soons. Don't reckon a nurse would prescribe Flucanazole as they would have to take liability. Spent all the hen party tottering on very painful feet and catching my super sensitive nipples on bars and toilet doors. Yummy cocktails though and my friend had made us all masks of the bride to be from various photos over the years that we wore in the restaurant! Very spooky. Even got a few strangers to pose in them on the last train home (we were very restrained in our partying and home by midnight).

Astrophe · 02/07/2006 20:42

uni, you any better?...my dd has a bad tummy too, was sick three times in the car on the way back from weekend camping, poor little sausage. Perhaps it was a warm yoghurt from the 'cool' box.

Our campsite was lovely but no trees, so a bit hot! dh was so grumpy as was hot / tired...why are mes so wussy??? So not a great weekend

ll, your gp sounds mean and you sound v brave. i would have just cried. hope you conquor thrush once and for all.

17th is good for us I think...will check the diary. Gothic...COME!!

laundrylover · 02/07/2006 20:44

17th is looking good then....
Is Chatsworth OK for you Astro?

Astrophe · 02/07/2006 20:45

I think it should be well signed shouldn't it? But does it cost £15 to get in? Someone told me it does.

Astrophe · 02/07/2006 20:46

oh rats...back soon, ds just sick all over the floor

laundrylover · 02/07/2006 20:50

Yuk,not good with sick - I'd take poo first anyday!!
Reckon £15 would be for the house but will go and check whilst you deal with the puke. Hope his tummy gets better soon....

laundrylover · 02/07/2006 20:56

Entry to the farm and playground is £4.95 for adults but kids under 3 are free.Your DS is not three yet is he?
car park is also £1.50.
However it is really good - check it out at chatsworth dot org.

Frizbe · 02/07/2006 20:59

Hi all! 17th is good for me too then! so its a date, the grounds are free at Chatsworth, its only the house or farm park you pay for, so we could arrange to meet at a car park on the way in (theres one with a garden centre if coming in from Matlock end?) that's free to park at???? or we could meet up at the farm shop and its lovely cafe? (outside the ground in pilsley?) or if there will be lots of toddlers? (mine will be at nursery) we could do the farm park?
Uni, sorry for the fishcake then hon
Oh and can someone please send us the storm! one's brewed here, then buggered off over Nottm way!
