Oh no northern, hope DS is ok. Fingers crossed for lots of sleep tonight!

I've booked my appointment with my GP today, it's next Wednesday. And I had to another test just to be certain Blush, I've never had one where the line was so dark, it made me suspicious. I'm still a few days days away from when I had my mc last time though, so not celebrating too much yet.

MissRee · 01/10/2012 20:55

Aww poor DS, Northern it's horrible when they bash themselves but I'm sure i will totally freak the first time Freya bleeds Sad

Freya do a wee on the potty at Mum's today Shock

NorthernChinchilla · 01/10/2012 20:59

We're chucking the blood-spattered muslin, but bar a swollen lip and a little mark he's fine now thanks.

Bed in 30...

Aethelfleda · 01/10/2012 21:34

. another viewer today: that's three of em we need feedback from. Hope one of them makes an offer as there's this house we quite like (it's a 5 bedder near to just about everything). Only downer is small garden (it's only a ten year old house so built on peoples back gardens) and the kitchen is non eatable in. Rest of house makes up for this though....

Face climbing - In fact, climbing on everything is a full-time BOi occupation.
Greetings from Copenhagen. We got the timetable - we can depart on Thursday!!!!! - one day earlier - as long as flights are available.
The mtg starts at 8:15, in the hotel. The gym opens at 6:30am. I could do 30 mins..couldn't I? . I really really need to lose weight.
Alarm is set for 6:15.
Goodnight!

On it. Ds' leading us a merry night time dance. After 3 weeks of sleeping through f is now up several times a night. Pretty sure its teething but nothing seems to help. Going to crack out the neurofen later. DS1 also randomly being sick once a day and bringing up all his meal. No idea what is causing it apart from excessive liquid consumption shortly before. Oh dear much washing today

Figgygal · 02/10/2012 08:08

Up since boy alarm went off at 6.30 (he had 11hrs last night excellent!!) so boy bathed, hoovering done washing on waiting for cm to pick him up at 9 and then working from home today.

So far so good being husbandless he will be amazed at how well we r doing.....even if I do say so myself.

We off for tea at work mates house who is on mat leave still she has a 16wk old who looks in recent pics about 6mo he's massive but he was 10lb 14 when born Confused

CherryBlossom27 · 02/10/2012 08:52

Morning all,

Had DS weighed yesterday and he's now 21lbs 1oz and right on the 75th centile line so he's definitely put on some weight after the diarrhea episode!

Silly FIL banging on about giving DS fresh fish again, also now fussing over how much water I give him (not enough apparently), also thinks DS goes to bed too early at 7pm Hmm DM has reminded me at least he cares enough to nag and he means well

DM was most impressed at how much tuna pasta DS ate - a whole grown up sized bowlful yesterday at lunchtime :o

hawthers · 02/10/2012 11:44

Help, DS1 invited to a 4th birthday party on Saturday along with the rest of his new class. I don't know the little girl whose party it is or the parents.

So how much to spend on the present?

Aethelfleda · 02/10/2012 12:43

Going rate around our way is a fiver hawthers. Two tips from me: 1) get the pressie from The Works or TK Maxx or a sale where your fiver will go further, and 2) if you have no idea what she likes drop a text to the mum saying "what is s/he into" so you have a clue. If it's a brand like Hello Kitty or Thomas where the toys are expensive get something like a lunchbox, dinner set or sparkly drinks bottle from Wilkinsons with that theme.

Hope you got some sleep last night and are feeling a bit better Northern

I'll be needing an early night myself tonight. DS up from 2.30-5, then DD awake at 6.30 . DS did 4 poos before 10am, all quite firm little bum wedges, so I think that was what was troubling him. If only he'd eat something beyond Weetabix, toast, breadsticks and grimace fraud he might not have these problems!

In better news, we've found a cup that DS can drink from - a Nuby straw one Smile

Figgygal · 02/10/2012 13:11

Another dilemma of day the spinach and ricotta tortellini (posh ravioli) I have in fridge pencilled in for our dinner tomorrow night has today's date on it for best before......since I'm out tonight it seems either I chance it or bin it what would you do? What would you do?

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/10/2012 13:41

Sky slept all night again Smile however, been told by doc this morning she might have asthma. She has all the symptoms and DD1 has got it and was diagnosed at 9months old too. Sad So we have steroids, inhaler & spacer now.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/10/2012 13:42

Figgy I'd eat the ravioli.

LittleMissFlustered · 02/10/2012 14:04

Best before us an advisory. One day out is well within my range of happiness, especially for something with no meat in it:)

LittleMissFlustered · 02/10/2012 14:05

Inhalers rock! Octoboy gets a thrice daily rendition of 'row your boat' which distracts him nicely:o

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/10/2012 14:22

LMF It will be an interesting bedtime routine with inhalers now Grin

Xiaoxiong · 02/10/2012 15:21

Figgy we ignore all dates and routinely eat all sorts of things that are well past their dates (like, weeks past). If it passes the smell and texture tests, it's fine - particularly if you're going to boil it anyway.

We've started brushing DS's four tiny teeth twice a day. He clamps his jaws shut and thrashes when we try and brush but is happy to chew on the handle...

KateM77 · 02/10/2012 16:08

I got this ride-on for DS for Christmas. It arrived today, and looks so much fun! I can't wait to see him play with it Grin

OiMissus · 02/10/2012 17:06

What are the symptoms of asthma - at this age?
BOi has often a rattley chest. And he fakes being out of breath, and pants - at least it looks/sounds fake.
I went to the gym in the hotel this morning, at 6:30, Grin - it was a shock to the system after 11-12 months off!
BOi quite likes us brushing his teeth, but he's not keen on flannel face washes. Smile
But DH keeps forgetting to do it. He'll probably have 4 days off whilst I'm not there to remind him.
Got caught in today's mtg by the CEO, watching a video of BOi on my phone. Blush but he came back later and asked to see it Grin
Must try harder!!! Whoops!

Aethelfleda · 02/10/2012 19:34

oi, true asthma in this age group is very unusual, but a lot of children get an asthma-like picture called viral-induced-wheeze which is often referred to as "asthma" even though technically it isn't. It's cos babie hve tiny little airways and the inflammation from viruses and other things they are sensitive to narrow the airways, which causes wheezing and distress that clinically is the same as "proper" asthma. About 50% of kids will grow out of this completely as their airways get bigger, whereas the "true" asthmatics will develop more typical recurrent symptoms and tend to react to things like cat/dog hair, dust, and pollens. It's also confusing cos the treatments for viral-associated-wheeze are exactly rhe same as for asthma. A kid with this will look varying shades of grotty: when it's bad they can't breathe properly and get either very distressed or semicomatose. The less severe versions stop playing, can't eat or sleep, and l

Aethelfleda · 02/10/2012 19:36

Look short of breath. The least bad kids are "happy wheezers" where tey get in withthings but sound like a set of bagpipes. It's not something you'd miss really and most parents are v good at pitching up to the docs when their DCs are affected. (hope this fits with what you mums with affected DCs think!)

NorthernChinchilla · 02/10/2012 19:37

Wasn't too bad thanks Kate - I volunteered to take DS overnight so DP could sleep and try and recover. I was in bed by 9.30, and bar a coughing fit (DS that is) around 2am, he slept til 5am. I got another half hour when I handed him over.
My turn to get an uninterrupted night as I'm presenting at a meeting tomorrow morning Smile
We're also getting DS something similar to you- there's these ride ons they sell in the shops near my Mum's and I've said DS will have one as his Xmas present. Can't wait to see him on it!

Definitely eat it figgy, you'll be fine.

Sorry to hear about the asthma DSM, but now we've got an Octogirl to join our Octoboy... At least they've caught it early, so hopefully should be more manageable? How is Darcie's?

DS loves his toothbrush Xiao, we just let him chew on it as the handle and the 'brush' are all the same squidgy plastic material!

DS got some more dungarees today, courtesy of my Mum, and MiL is sending more too. Sad day for them, they had to have their very elderly rescue dog put down... Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 02/10/2012 19:38

Oh, and any feedback on your place yet aethel?
