Still fairly blue, but I think they are changing. So he may end up with my hazel eyes not DPs lovely blue ones. Is 9 months a good indicator of what they will end up like then?

CherryBlossom27 · 24/08/2012 13:51

Figgy your one is outdoing mine....my DS has only done 3 poos so far today! The glamour of motherhood eh?!

Bee DS has brown eyes - knew he would as he's half Chinese and the dark haired gene is meant to be stronger. His eyes aren't as dark as DH's, but definitely brow!

I'm having a lazy day at home today as I was waiting for our new buggy to be delivered, it has arrived, but I just can't be bothered to get ready to go out! I'll have a busy weekend anyway with food shopping, birthday present shopping and celebrating my birthday :)

LittleMissFlustered · 24/08/2012 14:03

Octoboy has blue eyes, all the spawns do. His are darker, more like mine than his dad's. They've for a darker ring of blue on the edge of the iris too. Pretty little sod he is!:o

What new wheels have you got Cherry? I'm reluctant to admit this as Oi will start victory dancing, but I'm impressed with the new-to-us 'splory. Octoboy loves it, as he gets lots of people to talk to as people keep asking about the babyonnastick-ness of it all.

Is the tea-hose still out?

air asda have graco seats for £25 in their baby event if he's up to the magic 15kg.

aethel hope the coil fitting went ok, also wondering whether it hurts.

Eva has gorgeous dark blue eyes, and DS has dark chocolate brown, both unlike DH and myself.

aethelfleda · 24/08/2012 18:13

Afternoon!

coils are OK, just a bit uncomfortable/eyecrossing on the way in. Best thing to do is take neurofen an hour before you go and don't plan anything enormous afterward in case you feel a bit ropy. The actual fitting is over with in a few minutes, most people use anaesthetic gel for it, they have to put a little clamp thing on your cervix to put it in but the coil itself is all telescopic (imagine putting a tampax that's the size of a matchstick, but a bit higher up). The rest of the day after its fitted feels a bit like day 1 of period ( bit achey and off colour but nothing awful). More to the point, one day of a bit bleurgh equal five years of very effective contraception plus light almost-not-there periods with no period pain! As you can tell, I'm a fan....

KateM77 · 24/08/2012 19:41

DD has blue eyes like DH, and DS has brown eyes like me.

Had a good day today. My Dad and his family have hired a narrowboat for a week and are on the canal near me, so I took the DC's to see them this morning and had a little potter along on the boat for a while. Then to garden centre and soft play this afternoon which was fun on the whole, although at one point I had soft play rage at a child who was too old to be in there, was unsupervised, and knocked DD flying Angry

DD's dummy has gone in the bin tonight. Bribery Incentivisation is involved. She kicked off when first put down to bed, but all quiet now. It could be a long night though so I may be diving into the communal coffee vat in the morning.

NorthernChinchilla · 24/08/2012 19:44

I had the same experience as you aethel in the ridiculous kerfuffle in trying to get long term contraception- I remember it well, as it was four appointments, with three different doctors, in two different buildings (in two different towns) to get one bloody bit of contraception. Was going to go for a coil but they said it would be too painful if I hadn't had children....
Long term stuff has a lot to recommend it, altho I'm happy back on the pill at the mo after 10 years of long term- but I've used most things and it's going for what's best at your point in life.

Blimey air that sounds like the mega-chunder to beat all others, you poor things!

Ooh, lovely Cherry- I find the Eurasian mix a very attractive one generally and funnily enough my colleague has just become a grandfather and his DiL is Chinese/White Brit mix, and the new baby has definitely got her mother's colouring, and is soooooo gorgeous Grin!

DS's eyes sound like Octoboy's- blue (described as 'china blue' by a friend) with a ring.

Today has been fairly knackering, and am looking forward to the fajitas that are cooking...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 24/08/2012 20:08

Evening.

Sky's eyes are brown like mine. Darcie has blue eyes like her dad.

DH has gone out to a Status Quo tribute night. Darcie Is at her nan's and Sky has just been put to bed, so peace & quiet for me tonight.

Re contraception. I had the copper coil between Darcie & Sky and best form of contraception for me. Currently I'm not on anything we are just using condoms as want to try for DC3 next year.

Figgygal · 24/08/2012 20:16

DS still has blue eyes at the moment mine are green and dh are grey so we will c in the next few weeks what happens.

We r just using condoms at the moment, don't like being on the pill long term too lazy to investigate other options.

Aim for weekend must get new car seat for DS cost has ruled out the erf seats for now so looking for recommendations?

MissRee · 24/08/2012 20:26

Current form of contraception - implant AND pill Hmm pill is to counteract the constant bleeding but isn't working just praying the scan date comes through soon Sad

Freya's eyes are a greeny/bluey/grey colour. I think they're still changing tbh. Both DH and I have green eyes Grin

GeeandTee · 24/08/2012 20:27

DS and DD both have my eyes: light blue with little white flecks all around the iris. DH calls them the stars in my eyes and bought my engagement ring to matchm them. Awwwww. :)

Still haven't had a period due to bfing, they only came back last time when I had fully stopped feeding DS at 12 months. Will then go back on the pill as I've never had any bad side effects and don't like the thought of the coil! Also I had irritable uterus in both pregnancies (probably why DS was early and was on bed rest for both) so I don't think my body would like the coil. Is there any reasons not to take the pill long term? I've heard of a link to breast cancer but wasn't that with the old-style pills which were much higher levels of hormones? I have Cilest.

figgy I like the brand Kiddy for car seats and DS loves his, will be getting one for DD too when she's ready.

MissRee · 24/08/2012 20:27

Figgy we got the Cosatto Moova (Hello Dolly) one and I love it! For a boy I'd go for the Monster one, it's tres cute Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 24/08/2012 21:27

Figgygal · 24/08/2012 21:34

Kitty5824 · 24/08/2012 21:36

Figgy The moova's are also in the bounty flash sale this weekend so £75ish I think.

No, I don't work for Bounty......

MissRee · 24/08/2012 21:42

Nooooo don't tell me that Kitty Sad lol!

I just need to convince DP that I NEED the matching buggy now and I can palm the Graco off on SIL Wink

aethelfleda · 24/08/2012 21:57

lmf, what's with the grin, lady? (you do know that conception is unlilely with a Rampant Rabbit, right?)

gee, current recommendations from the Family Planning peeps are that provided you don't have any risk factors (like smoking, high blood pressure, history of blood clots) then Cilest type combined pills are considered OK until menopause. You may get offered lower oestrogen pills as you get older but if Cilest works best for you most of the time people will be happy to prescribe it. There are different sorts of breast cancer, one type goes up slightly with the pill but abother type goes down, so it's not a big worry unless you have a big family history of breast disease. Info link here

NorthernChinchilla · 24/08/2012 22:07

Yeah, I want to know what LMF is blatantly not abstemeing abstinencing not doing!

Tomorrow we go and buy all the world's stairgates and a new watch for DP, and possibly some work shoes for him as well. It's a really, really good thing I don't have an expensive drugs/shoes/exotic pets habit as we'd be stuffed...

mopsytop · 24/08/2012 22:58

Hi all, my brother is visiting until tomo lunchtime (arrived this morning), we have had a fab day! Minim has been at her most beguiling all day, acting like the model baby that she can be but doesn't like to show off unless rellies are around. I made a chocolate cake for my brother to celebrate his recent promotion and it went down a storm and wd had steak frites for dinner. Nom nom. All round a great day!!

LittleMissFlustered · 24/08/2012 23:34

Still abstaining, but a tentative friendship has sprung up and who knows where it might go?

Tired! Octoboy is not good at sleeping at the minute, and it's exhausting:(

anairofhope · 24/08/2012 23:43

Kitty5824 · 25/08/2012 01:24

Bounty Offers

Kitty5824 · 25/08/2012 01:31

Did anyone else smile when DSM used DH for the first time? GrinGrin

Next doors teenagers are camping in the back garden. We have loooong gardens so can't hear them in the tents, but when DS woke up screaming (he obviously forgot that we fed him about 2 hours ago Confused) and I went to feed him I could hear them near the house. They must have heard the baby? Surely?!

Ummm, can't remember what else I wanted to say.

DS has my very brown eyes.

He was 8 months on Thur, and was weighed today. 17lb 9oz. So he's jumped from the 2nd to the 25th centile. No more worries about him not gaining weight.

Assume next time I get him weighed I'll be getting a lecture on childhood obesity......

Figgygal · 25/08/2012 03:41

Gah night feed alert.....not Done one of these done a while Confused

LittleMissFlustered · 25/08/2012 03:43

I just did one too. Expect to do at least one more too:/
