DSM is now getting married!

It's far too hot, I'm melting, grumble grumble etc.

aethelfleda · 18/08/2012 17:02

Yaaaaay!

KateM77 · 18/08/2012 19:24

Congratulations to the now MrsDSM Wine

NorthernChinchilla · 18/08/2012 19:46

Hooray and congratulations to Mrs DSM

I hope your married life is long and happy, and I'd make a wish for you that you'd be blessed with children, but that's already happened twice! Hope you're having a fantastic day Smile

seven77 · 18/08/2012 21:15

Right I have prosecco. To Mr and Mrs DSM!

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

MissRee · 18/08/2012 22:07

I'm raising a glass of icy water to Mr and Mrs DSM (I don't drink the alcomahol)

What a glorious day! Chilling in Nanny's garden with the beebs splashing about in the pool (in the shade). Poor little F isn't coping too well... we had an unsettled night without the trusty sleeping bag and I suspect the same for tonight Sad it's 27.5 degrees in here though so she will have to suffer without it I'm afraid or she'll overheat!

GeeandTee · 19/08/2012 06:47

aethel thanks, as ever, for the advice.

Just had another awful night. I didn't get to sleep until 1am as some peopLe qere being loud outside but it was too hot to shut the window, then had to settle DD at 1.30am, 2.30, fed at 3.30, then she woke up giggling at 5.30 and did a massive poomageddon so I had to change her. She is still awake and won't go back to sleep. Reckon I've had around 3 broken hours and feeling on the verge of exhaustion. Could this still be the eFfects of lactose on Friday? I didn't give her any dairy yesterday.

Feel like my head is about to explode :( and have to pack for our holiday today.

HoneyLovesCake · 19/08/2012 07:14

((((hug)))) gee too tired for words

hawthers · 19/08/2012 07:21

Oh gee so tough. Perhaps cut out all dairy for a week or 2 then give her one carefully controlled (and timed) thing when you have the energy and support to risk a bad night.

F is still having masses of nasty nappies bit I found his first tooth yesterday. Do we think it is connected or could it be related to me feeding him egg?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 19/08/2012 07:35

Morning campers Grin

We had a fantastic day yesterday thank you all for thinking about us x pics to follow later x

Figgygal · 19/08/2012 07:59

We were the same with neighbours last night although with lo having woken us up the night before I still slept thru it though unusually he woke up screaming at 11 though went straight back to sleep with his teddy. He's had disgusting nappies and been whining pretty much all weekend fingers crossed its teeth am almost glad to be going to work tomorrow for a break.

Taking him to local farm park today hopefully some big smelly animals will spark an interest.

Congrats dsm!!

BJR · 19/08/2012 08:23

Glad you had a fantastic day DSM, was a beautiful day for it Smile.

We have a house of lurgy here. DS was sick all thursday and friday and DP and I both seem to have caught it and have been up all night. Need some relatives on hand as I don't think either of us are up to entertaining two boys today!

CherryBlossom27 · 19/08/2012 09:45

Congratulations DSM Thanks

I'm not having much fun with DS at the moment :( Tooth 5 has cut through the gum, but Tooth 6 is not quite there yet. The hot weather is too hot for me, let alone DS. He won't nap in the daytime and just screams when I put him in the cot...I'm hoping it's just the heat! DS also has a snotty nose and a cough which he's now given me :(

Sorry to whinge but I'm really hot, tired and ill and seriously grumpy!

Hope everyone else is managing to enjoy the weather though!

aethelfleda · 19/08/2012 11:31

Wow cherry, tooth SIX?!?! We don't have any yet for DS, just piles and piles of drool. hawthers, the bottom issue will be teethy bum, I've never heard of egg causing nappy rash, teething is notoriaous for nasty bottom rash. Crack open the metanium from mr Tesco if needed.

(((hug))) gee, it's really hard to tell but I think we've all had crappy nights in this hot weather: I was up at 12 and 2 with DS and again at 1 and 3 with the girls needing drinks/cuddles/settling.

seven77 · 19/08/2012 14:26

aethel no teeth here either.

cherry hope you're feeling better soon. I completely agree about it being too hot though!

My throat is finally better, though my mouth is full of tiny ulcers and I'm covered in spots. Eva has a high temp of 38.7 now, and the fact that it's 26 degrees indoors isn't helping :(

Anyone seen LMF?

Kitty5824 · 19/08/2012 16:51

Congratulation to DSM Thanks

I can't be arsed to tell my Wedding stories yet...maybe later.

We've also had a disrupted few days...partly weather, partly teething. He's had his bottom two for ages, I wish the top ones would blooming well hurry up.

We bought a stair gate yesterday to barricade him into the lounge as he's started commando crawling at such speed that I found him in the hall trying to lick the wheels of the pram when I had just put him down a minute ago Shock

And we went to the balloon show in Northampton and spent a lovely 90 mins driving in the same general direction as the hot air balloons and stopping to take photos. Has anyone been up in one? Something I've always fancied.....

NorthernChinchilla · 19/08/2012 16:52

Ditto, we are roasting. It is...

26 degrees in DS's room, and that's the coolest one in the house.

He's managing to sleep OK in this heat though, which is more than can be said for his mother. I certainly had my eyes closed in a darkened room last night, tho whether it can be called sleep I don't know....

In extremely shitty news here, DP's work have turned down his request to reduce his hours to fit in with the nursery. Really not sure what we're going to do- DP (and I) don't want DS to do a 'full' day, five days a week, 9-4 was fine. But his work won't let him go half 9 til half 3.

We're stuck- we could afford for him not to go to work at all, my wage would just about cover us (there's barely any difference if DP works for any period, as his wages almost exactly match the cost of whatever time DS would spend in nursery).
But I don't want to risk being the sole wage earner, especially given the massive reorganisation that's happening in November, and we both want to spend some time with DS during the week.

Bugger Sad

Calling ACAS and the union on Monday, and the nursery....

aethelfleda · 19/08/2012 17:32

Kitty, we were given a balloon ride by our lovely uni friends, who all clubbed together as a present for our wedding. It was great fun, though a bit unpredictable where yoi actually went due to the nature of baloon travel. Wear walking boots!

northern, what an arse. Do see what the union say: technically there may not be much that can be done about it but it always annoys me when people are inflexible regarding childcare needs.

It's roasting over here too: there was a brief promise of a thunderstorm earlier, but then it missed us and the sun came out again. I am NOT built for this heat!! Did finally get the front room skirting finished thanks to DH's excellent child-wrangling, hooray. Now off to dunk my head in a cold bucket of water and pray for rain.....

BJR · 19/08/2012 17:54

Oh dear, what a day! DP and I have both been on and off being sick all day and having that horrid if I move i'm going to be sick again feeling.

Then at about lunch time DS was happily playing in the travel cot and when I checked on him he was standing in a sea of poo. Some toys, clothes, towel and travel cot have all had to go in the bin as it was literally everywhere. Was not the most pleasant day i've had recently.

As soon as the boy is in bed I will be going to sleep. Bring on tomorrow!

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 19/08/2012 18:07

BJR get well soon

Northern hope you can work it out :(

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 19/08/2012 19:48

Northern Hope you sort it all out.

BJR Hope you all feel better soon.

Seven Hope your mouth ulcers go soon.

We had a fantastic day yesterday. The weather was brilliant all day and the view was stunning. The hotel was decorated beautifully and couldn't of asked for anything better. We don't talk about the first dance tho! Some pics have gone up on FB of yesterday but will be a couple of weeks for official ones.

First day being Mrs T has been good. Everyone has said what a fab day they had yesterday and that we I know how to throw a party Grin

Both the girl's were extremely well behaved considering they barely saw us and are now tucked up in bed and we are enjoying the peace.

Already Sad that I'll never wear my wedding dress again!

Anyways up date laters x

mopsytop · 19/08/2012 20:47

Yay DSM!! So pleased for you that you had a beautiful day.

KateM77 · 19/08/2012 21:15

DSM so pleased to hear you had a great day yesterday

Get well soon to seven and BJR

Cooling thoughts to all.

Fortunately my two seem to just get knocked out by the heat. I was expecting a disturbed night last night, but not a peep out of them. Hope tonight is the same as I'm shattered. We went over to Blenheim today - they had a cycle event all weekend, which included family rides. DH took DD round on his bike. Sadly, the seat for DS hasn't arrived yet so me and the little man sat in the shade instead. Might not have been a bad thing in hindsight! Both DC's coped pretty well despite being v hot and sweaty. Wish I'd realised about the balloon festival kitty, Northampton is only 10mins up the road for us.

BTW these are the bikes seats we have, I would recommend them: Wee Ride

seven77 · 19/08/2012 22:05

Ugh BJR to sickness and the sea of poo. Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Glad you had a great day DSM.

northern what a bugger. What does DP do/qualifications does be have? If you could survive on your wage would be be able to resign and look for something else part-time if need be?

MissRee · 19/08/2012 22:55

Sorry to post and run a "mememe" again but have just posted a query in Legal Matters (can't link as on my phone). If anyone could help, I'd be most grateful!
