BEKsmum · 23/03/2006 10:46

Beartime lol at your post - now take a big breath, you made me feel panicked with that post.

I can't make any definite arrangements with you until I know what Karma is doing as she is coming to stay at mine. but:

If she comes the night before the meet up we will both just meet you on your train from Ashford as they do stop at Bromley South.

If I am meeting her at Euston then we can still meet on the train it would just have to be an earlier one & you can come to Euston with me, I'll probably jump in a black taxi from Victoria as I'll have Ben with me too & I 'm not a big fan of the tube!!!

Hope that helps Grin

BEKsmum · 23/03/2006 10:55

Sarah I'm sorry I crossed posts with you there, that's terrible, please don't disappear we're all here to help and are great listeners & talking to us might help you sort everything out in your head.

Is the situation completely hopeless or can you tell him you didn't mean it & explain to him how stressed you feel & how your hormones are still all over the place.

I hope you can resolve the situation for you & Lotties sake but make sure you do what's best for yourself as it's him who is going to be missing out on raising his beautiful little girl.

Sending you {{{{cyber hugs & lots of strength}}}}}}}}}}} Beks

ChaCha · 23/03/2006 11:18

SS - As Beks says, everyone here is a great source of strength and support, also sending you cyber hugs. We've missed your posts on here.

Golden - Had to LOL at the guards outside Mcdonalds, must have been downtown or in tourist area. Did you do the pyramids btw and did you go inside?

Nova - Thanks. Nelsons Teething Powder - will have a look at that. Gave the huggababy one last go this morning, we looked like mummy kangaroo gone wrong!! What baby bjorn am i looking for, seem to many varieties.

AF is back with a vengeance, yuk! LO and DH slept in other room all night giving me a great chance to sleep on my own until the morning - of course, what happened? I had insomnia and didn't sleep until the wee hours, typical isn't it?!?

Your meet up sounds really exciting!

Not b/f that much so haven't the excuse of TV while feeding, but am hooked on Thurday night's Waterloo Road (Londoner, same time as PH with Andrea - oh decisions!)

Have a great day everyone, best rescue the babygym animals, Z is beating the crap out of them and screaming for attention xxx

novadandypowder · 23/03/2006 12:05

I haven't looked at it but baby bjorn do a lighter weight summer sling which may be useful as it's getting warmer? Have a look on \link{http://www.kiddicare.com/bin/venda?ex=co_wizr-xapian&threshold=1&bsref=kiddicare&searchlike=1&searchcat=carriers&searchex=&itemsperpage=15&srchopt=C,U,V&U=Baby%20Bjorn&itemsperpage=15&carryfields=C,U,V&C=&U=Baby%20Bjorn&V=\kiddicare}

OK it's Honest Sam's giveaway time, anyone interested in the following:

2 x small nappy wraps one motherease rikki, can't remember the other one

4 x 100 roll of flushable nappy liners

2 x laundry bags

3 x bargain 6-9 month old long sleeve t-shirts I got yesterday, de-labelled and washed only to find out Nat is far bigger than I thought and is too big for them!

Don't want anything for them, I just want some drawer space back!

beartime · 23/03/2006 12:14

Golden - I have to admit I do know some nice locals Smile The baby bjorn does have instructions inside and I thought I followed them... what size does it go up to? And you can face them the other way around too right?

Nova - THANKS for the instructions - I've printed them out! I think I might have missed getting the star[s adjusted b4 putting baby in maybe.

So I probably shouldn't take car seat in buggy then in case I need to fold buggy up?

Diege - what book's it in?

Rodeo - just realised I'm a mother now - so qualify for mother's Day - wow! I can't be that old surely Wink

Sarah Sausage - you mean dp left you for good - or just temporarily? Hope you're OK.

goldenoldie · 23/03/2006 12:18

SS - thinking of you hon. Keep in touch.

Jenjam - what happened to your pregnant cleaner?

Chacha - have to say, seeing the armed guards did make me consider how much I really wanted a burger. And I can tell you, the armed guards were not the friendly type either. I have no doubt they would have used those M16s.

Yes did the whole tourist bit. Did the pyramids on horseback, and did a dawn hot-air ballon over the nile, pyramids.

also went to luxor and loved thebes and the valley of the kings, and also went to hurgada - on the red sea. absolutely beautiful.

goldenoldie · 23/03/2006 12:20

would go back for holiday in a heartbeat if it were not for all this terrorism mularky.

babyonboard · 23/03/2006 12:51

SS - how awful! hope you are holding out okay and that things will work out..hope you kep posting on here as everyone else has said.

feeling very Blush ..we had the boiler fixed this morning and then I realised I'd run out of cheques...also don't have a cash card at the moment..so I couldn't pay.He totally refused to invoice me..so I hve to call the head office nd plead for them to let me pay tomorrow..there's no other wya to do it!

also the leak has gone into our spare room too..which we'd only just decorted in prepertion for O moving out of our room. hope the insurance will cover it.

DP was furious at the freeholder..he plans to call him this afternoon and vent..lol

golden..my parents went to sharm el sheik last year a week after the bombing..they still had a lovely time..

nova i'd love the laundry bgs..i turned ours dirty grey by putting them to wash with coloured stuff
thats assuming they aren't overly girly..lol

right best go plead my case to the plumber..

Diege · 23/03/2006 13:02

Phew, back from really stressful driving lesson - sweaty armpit city!!. Did all manoevres, inc. parallel parking, but have to say I don't have a 'feel' for reversing, purely luck if I get it right Smile.
SarahS: really feel for you Sad It's hard enough coping with the day -to- day realitites of a new baby, without what you're going through. It really might help to come on here and vent perhaps? Keep in touch whatever you decide, or we will worry Smile.
BEAR: I promise, you won't have to fold your pram on the train journey you have planned, so I'd take car seat/buggy combo, perhaps with sling underneath as LONDONER suggests?. Bet you won't need it though Smile. Oh, and the book chapter's in is called 'Risk and the Everyday' (Ashgate), not published until late summwer though (one for the Xmas book list - NOT!!!). Loads of interesting stuff on cosmetic surgery (designer vaginas Shock; back packing; youth; civil service, and my stuff on pregnancy). Stop yawning!!!!
NOVA: tempted by the long-sleeved t-shirts Smile. Could I give you something for them though?
Diege Smile

Diege · 23/03/2006 13:04

Oh BOB!!! What a week!!! Hope you are spoilt rotten on Mother's Day to make up for it!!

babyonboard · 23/03/2006 14:17

phew..they've agreed to come and collect payment tomorrow

O has cheered me up..he just spent half an hour laughing at his reflection..he tends to do that t some point most days now..hehehe

getting excited about the london meet..will we be having lunch? if so I know a great place in covent garden..very buggy and baby friendly too..

ChaCha · 23/03/2006 14:41

Afternoon all,

Golden - Air balloon sounds fantastic! Bet you got some great shots from up there. We enquired about it when in Luxor last year but DH wasn't well enough and so a felluca ride sufficed. I love Hurghada but haven't been there now for over 5 years. Shame that terrorism threatens future holidays, what really bugs me is when it is done in the name of religion, especially one that signifies peace! I used to frequent Sharm el Sheikh a great deal when in my late teens/early twenties, beach all day and parties all night, definitely not my cup of tea anymore. Camping down the Gower is about the height of excitment to come :)

Calling all Quorn lovers, I just had a Sweet Pepper & Mozzarella Escalope w/salad - yum yum!! A must try! Nova - did you make the Quorn and Halloumi salad? How did you do it?

Those ladies who do their own ironing...how do yo get it done. Am sick of seeing massive piles of clothes in every room. Dining room table is host to a wardrobe of stuff as are two chairs in living room and a single bed in spare room.

Very Angry at DH's comment of 'House is a bit messy. Been busy today?' Will need to knock that one on the head before it evolves into 'what do you do all day?' Working outside of home seems a long forgotten memory.

BEKsmum · 23/03/2006 16:53

Hi ya Chacha - what do you mean jealous of our meet up - aren't you coming then? Sad

Tell your dh if he keeps up with comments like that you'll go on strike and he can do it himself - you are working, you're raising & stimulating his child don't ever let him think it's easy 'cos it's not and it takes them a while to understand that - make sure you leave him at home one Saturday with Zayn and ask him to do a couple of jobs while you are out, not diy just a ususal days cleaning and see how much he gets done, he'll soon change his tune Grin

Bob what are you like - what a week!

I find the ironing the biggest headache too, I have an armchair and dining table full of it, but I was just given a good tip for shirts. Put a dry shirt in the tumble dryer with a wet flannel, then hang it up as soon as it stops, you shouldn't have to iron it then!

Speak to you all later Beks

babyonboard · 23/03/2006 17:27

chacha..that sounds lovley..mm..havent had quorn since i was a veggie years ago..i will have to intoduce it into my new low fat diet..lol

I never iron! (bad housewife!heehee)dp irons his shirt the night before he needs it..sometimes if i'm feeling nice i do it for him..
all O's stuff is fine without and i don't care about mine..hehe

also a fan of waterloo road..saw it for the first time last week at my mums..is it on tonight?

ChaCha · 23/03/2006 18:37

Beks - Thanks for that. I'd like some discussion and debate on the subject. I have no problem with cooking & cleaning and although I'm no domestic goddess I do enjoy it, just when I want to and not in time for DH's return home. I spend parts of the evening catching up when DH looks after the LO, he is v.good like that, not complaining, but sometimes I feel like there are just not enough hours in the day. Anyhow, I get like this from time to time, I haven't been out this week and I've noticed that when a few day pass with zilch fresh air/company I start to moan. AF doesn't help either. Am parking my behind in front of the box as of 7.30 (BoB, it's on at 8) and that's that! Will now go and eat some humble pie.

Have just bid on a door bouncer. Wish me luck.

BoB - I'm a bit of Quorn freak as of late as i usually have to wait until i visit my dad before I can eat roast beef/cold cuts etc.. Quorn are doing cold roast beef slices too...it's wonderful! I don't have to travel to another continent to enjoy it.

Talk soon x

Diege · 23/03/2006 19:36

Evening! CHACHA: my ironing pile is spread across 4 crates in utlility room, with 'excess' stuffed into airing cupboard, with no actual chance of being ironed Smile. Keep meaning to do a few bits a night, but always succomb to telly Grin. Even worse than ironing I find is the putting away! Assumed you would be at meet? Sad Agree that it's so important to get out, even just for a few minutes a day - things really do seem far worse as each day passes without fresh air. I purposely just get a few bits of shopping in each day, to 'force' myself to get out (like old people!) Sad I know, but otherwise I would go mad Smile.
Put Libby in MacClaran today to get her used to it before London; it was like pushing a baby Annabel, so light compared to dd2 Grin. She seemed to enjoy looking 'out' at things, and even dropped off at one point. She had a major giggling fit at dd1 brushing her teeth tonight, a proper dirty laugh Smile!
RODEO: hope you have a good time at hairdressers tommorow - we'll knock 'em dead in London Wink; I'm having mine done next week too Grin.
On quorn, I still love the sausages and mince best; am doing quorn lasagne tommorrow from SW magazine. Looks hard work but hopefully worth it Grin.
Diege Smile

beartime · 23/03/2006 20:17

Beks - I don't really want to get a taxi as they are so expensive so maybe I should meet Londoner at London Bridge (are you going on tube Londoner?) as the tube cost will probably be in with my ticket?

Nova - I'd love the wraps and liners if no-one else has asked for them yet Smile

Diege - OK will do on the pram thing - thanks for helping stupid me out Grin designer WHAT? Shock so what's the conclusion of your chapter?

Cha Cha - I never iron apart from the odd occasion when it really is too wrinkled and it belongs to DH!

Diege · 23/03/2006 21:05

Hi BEAR! The designer vaginas chapter (which has no input from me I should add!) looks at risks of cosmetic surgery 'down there' Grin; you know, all those nips and tucks mad women get! My chapter looks at women's experience of risk in pregnancy (looking at interviews I did with women who had received 'high risk' results from antenatal screening), and concludes that science is not as infallible and we think, and basically need 'deconstructing' (don't ask) (loads more to chapter, but won't bore you Grin.
Right, new drama on!
Diege Smile

Rodeo · 23/03/2006 21:57

Hi all,

Just got back from swimming although it's only made my hair much more straw like for tomorrow! And it's playing havoc with my skin....

SS :( Oh you poor thing - we're all thinking of you

Nova - Has anyone asked for the tops yet? I'd like to buy them off you :) Had J weighed today and she's 14lb 5, so not v. big......

Right, best be off, dp needs to do some work, after he's watched 'The Games' girls finishing their archery (I think he may secretly be in love with Michelle Gayle.....and Javine.......and Goldworthy MP!)

Night x x x

Rodeo · 23/03/2006 22:02

Sorry Diege - just seen you've bagsied the tops Blush!

Diege · 23/03/2006 22:30

Grin. Hey, we'll have to have a bidding war Wink. Seriously, you have them RODEO as I think J would definitely get more wear out of them as Libbs would only get a few months wear with her chubby arms Smile.
Really enjoyed Baby Maker drama; anyone else see it?

novadandypowder · 23/03/2006 22:33

ok so..

Diege - you've got the tops (and seriously I don't want anything for them, just can't beleve I have no concept of how big my own daughter is!)

Beartime - you've got the liners and wraps

BoB - by laundry bag I mean the net style ones that you put into the washing machine, not a pretty one that goes in the nursery. They were initially meant for reusable nappies, but can be used for general washing I suppose? Do you still want them?

Can you ladies email me your addresses for posting - my MN talk name at hotmail dot com.

Diege · 24/03/2006 08:57

Morning everyone Smile. DD2 poorly again, so no nursery SadBlush. She's asked to go back to bed, so must be genuine, and of course I agreed Grin.
NOVA: I have graciously bequested the tops to RODEO Grin, see post below Smile.
Making the most of present 'lull' in house before it all kicks off!
Speak later,
Diege Smile

beartime · 24/03/2006 10:19

Nova - I could pick them up at the meet up to save you posting them if you like?

Diege - sounds interesting - does that mean some of the high-risk stuff is rubbish? Or that the medics don't handle it well? Cos it seems to me that docs do make too much of an 'illness' out of pg and birth, tho' when you see one go wrong it might be worth it I dunno. I'm into the whole natural birth thing but then wonder if mine might have died without the ventouse...
