Hi to everyoneSmile,

Just checking how you are this morning....
BEKs, hope you're okay today, things sound really tough..... I expect you'll be able to have a bit of a breather come Monday morning after the party etc? Does your dh have this sort of work schedule regularly? .... sounds v. hard going for you.....
Diege - looking forward to you guys coming down to London!
Rodeo - the release date for your post-natal work-out video? Shock Go woman!

Londoner · 10/03/2006 07:59

busy - congrats on the shop... what's it called?

Busyalexsmummy · 10/03/2006 08:36

omg, havent a clue whats wrong with alex but hes got worse, he seems to be running a temp of 39C and has just projectile vomited black liquid all over the sofaShock have rang dr and waiting for them to ring back, and in not going to let her fob me off with excuses(dont like coming out to you unless your dying type senario)

Morning Smile. A better night last night, though Libby has discovered how to blow rasberries extremely loudly, and started at 5.30, but at least no crying Smile. She is just an early riser like her sisters were, no matter the bed time or amount of sleep during the day. Shouldn't complain, as I'll have to be up at 6 when I go back to work, so gets me used to it!.
Wow BUSY let us know the details! I feel a shopping spree coming on!
RODEO: the girls are at link club/nursery over Easter, so it's much the same as any other day for me, so whenever is best for you really Smile,(and TWINKLE? LAYLASMUM? YORKSHIRE?)!!!
Have been half thinking about travelling down the night before (when she's asleep) and then staying in hotel close to station (ISIS?)just to break the trip up a bit.But then I remembered about luggage/bottles etc ..Maybe an option, or perhaps better to just have one mad day! Grin.
MUst get pictures up on site, though will have to take some first Blush; we have a few of LIbby from early on, but poor thing has been neglected on this front compared to sisters!! (well, sister 1!). Agree L&Smum, everyone looks very 'yummy mummy'!!!!
RODEO: aquarium bouncer looks brill from an adults point of view, lots of vibrations, lights, music, and an aquarium with toy fish that bubble round. However, LIbby much prefers her basic frame bouncer with the swinging mice. Annoyed too that I didn't realise it's not recommended from when they sit up, so only a few months left really; an expensive mistake Blush. Also bought baby nest gym from Mothercare that she doesn't have to lie flat in (had a bit of a spend as you can see - on credit card Blush).
Well, I'm starving so having a big cooked veggie breakfast ('free' on green day at SW!).
Speak later, and have a great time at Cinema LONDONER and CANDIE!)
Diege Grin.

Diege · 10/03/2006 08:44

Oh BUSY how worrying!!!Agree, don't let them fob you off. Let us know more when you get the chance Smile

Busyalexsmummy · 10/03/2006 09:20

At last, theyve rang back, she said "I'll be out sometime later"....oh right....no rush then!
Poor thing, have opened the windows wide in the lounge to try and cool him down as hes burning to touch.will let you know what she says after shes been.

Busy, poor you and Alex! It's worrying, but just hang in there -- you're on the case now and you never know, he may just turn the corner before the dr arrives.

Londoner, see you at 11.30 I read it is now Crash hope that's ok? I'll be the one smelling of baby vomit.

BEKsmum · 10/03/2006 09:43

Busy, what a nightmare, sounds like the virus Ben had, it's apparently sweeping the country, the best thing to give Alex is under 6 year old nurofen, it will take his temperature right down, then an hour or so later give him the max of calpol to fight any pain. The calpol will work on it's own it's just not as quick.

The temperature lasts 24-48 hours although it went on a bit longer with Ben, you'll find that as the nurofen wears off the temperature will come back, so just keep him topped up, try to bring his temperature down slowly if you haven't got the nurofen, keep a damp cloth to hand and wipe him down, try to get fluids into him as much as possible - you have my synpathies but if he's anything like Ben you'll get a quiet week as it really took all his energy away so hooray for kids tv.

The dr said that there are two viruses doing the rounds one is high temp, sickness & diorreah [sp?] the other is high temp & sickness, dizzyness & flu like symptoms - we have the latter now, having already had the first!!!

Look after yourself & I wish you all a speedy recoveryrecovery.

Londoner · 10/03/2006 10:05

busy & beks - so sorry you've got such horrible lurgies and sending loads of swift recovery vibes to both your households~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Candi - fantastic news, can't wait to see it, it's meant to be brilliant! Is 11 no good for you? I usually go in at 11.30 to get a seat.... can you make 11.15?

Candiemom · 10/03/2006 10:19

No 11 perfect. We are leaving now in fact. Wish us luck!! If you're not there, we'll just hang in the lobby looking shifty.

Candiemom · 10/03/2006 10:21

ah i see where you became confused. I actually SAID see you at 11.30. what I MEANT was see you at 11. Funny that you didn't follow that... SORRY!! see you soon.

Londoner · 10/03/2006 14:44

Heeeeeey!

Candimom and Georgia are just gorgeousSmile. Film wasn't as listed in the end but was a film I can't remember the name of, it was okay, had Andrew Lincoln in though (remember Egg from 'This Life'?) who's lovely........ Thanks Candi, let's do it again soon, when you're a married woman, yay! Pics of the cinema babies are now on Yahoo........

Londoner · 10/03/2006 15:00

Have put a photo in the meet-ups album but put a blurry one in as well by mistake and can't see how to remove it...mind you, the other one has red-eyeBlush, Georgia saved the day with her smile on that one thoughSmile.

Diege · 10/03/2006 15:10

Lovely pics LONDONER/CANDIE!; babies look like they are old friends Smile; so where are the grown-ups??!
A tiny bit tempted to start solids at 4 months, as Libby is by no means a big feeder, but she seems unsettled after bottles and has been waking during naps etc. Remember dds never took more than 6ozs, even when starving, but enjoyed dinners when at this stage. Bought some rusks yesterday, though not tried yet. Enjoyed by dd2 Grin.
Right, off to collect dry cleaning.LIfe is such a whirl...Grin
Diege Smile

Candiemom · 10/03/2006 15:56

I can attest that Elizabeth and Londoner are lovely as well -- Elizabeth very chilled, thoughtful and now holds honourary first in making friends. It was very cute!!

The movie experience was pretty funny because about 1/4 of the way through I actually said to Londoner, 'so I guess THIS is the movie' (I am guessing she knew this much sooner). If I can explain myself it was meant to be something, then Crash, then it was this third one of which neither of us knew the name. Lovely period setting. Sorry I had to rush off Londoner, next time I will get my parking act together though you'll be relieved to know I didn't have a £100 ticket (the traffic gods were smiling). It was a totally great experience -- thanks for the invite Londoner and the photos!

Just back from picking up all the formula for our trip. GG is not doing great on the Nutramigen and I can't really tell if it's better than the staydown or not. She doesn't seem to be sleeping very well but I see from Diege's post that this is happening at her house to so who knows if it's the formula or not?

BEKsmum · 10/03/2006 16:07

Afternoon ladies,

Londoner & Candi sounds like you had a good time at the pictures and the girls look adorable - Wow Londoner hasn't Elizabeth grown since we met up last, she's just adorable.

Thanks for asking about dh by the way, no his work isn't always like this it just happens every so often as he works for a company which gives 24hr telephone support. We're lucky really as he doesn't have to leave the house it was just a pain as he had taken the afternoon off to be with Ben for his B'Day and then ended up working all night instead, which meant he was too tired to go to a concert last night with his mate. I was glad though after such a rough day!!!

Yesterday was just bizarre really as Ben went to pre-school to watch two talks by his best friends parents, one's a theatre nurse and the others a policeman and the highlight of his day was being allowed to drive a police van - how cool is that, it was just a shame that he then began to feel so poorly.

I think Thomas stayed awake as he knew he was missing something Smile Needless to say the little monkey has been asleep for most of today Grin

Diege, when you arrange your meet up for London, I've told Karma that she will be more than welcome to come and stay with us, so hopefully she'll take me up on the offer which means that will be one more of you who ventures south of the Watford Gap!

Had a really nice chat with Karma today, Ella & Thomas were having their own little chat in the background Smile

Looking forward to seeing Tex with Rosie and Toby on Sunday. Tex I'm sure we'll be over the worst of this by Sunday so the kids shouldn't catch anything nasty hopefully.

Busy hope your day is improving and that the dr eventually came out to Alex.

Hope everyone else is well Beks

babyonboard · 10/03/2006 16:24

Hi all..

it would seem Oskar has been struck down with this nasty virus too!
he has a temp. of 38, and his is normally 36.5, so not very high but I'm keeping an eye on him.
He's been very restless..just getting half hour bursts of sleep and waking up crying.

Needless to say, i'm exhausted, but my mum arrives tonight so may see if she wants to take care of him tonight so I can get at least some sleep.
Hope i can face leaving him tomorrow, i know he'll be in good hands with my mum, but I don't want to be distracted worrying about him all night.
Though I know if I hint at cancelling my mum will kick me out of the door with my best party frock following right behind me..lol..

candi & londoner, sounds like you had a gret time..who cares what the film was anyway?lol
love the pic..looks like the girls werwe enjoying a good gossip..hehehe

and londoner..you can download a little gadget called 'picasa' which is really easy to remove red eye with..though it sometimes turns them into scary neon green eyes, especially with babies and animals..hehe

oh best go...nap is over after..ooh...15 minutes this time..poor boy!

will catch up later when d.p gets home.

babyonboard · 10/03/2006 16:36

just quickie..
doctor is due to come at 7, but can I give him anything in the interim?
calpol, infant nurofen?
or is he too little?
i've been putting cold comprsses on his forehead, but don't know if i should..my mum says wrap him up as the fever is a good thing, it'll sweat out the bugs, but d.p is telling me to give him lukwarm bths..
argh..

Diege · 10/03/2006 16:43

Poor oscar BOB Sad, but he will be fine, and YOU MUST NOT CANCEL!!!!! Hopefully BUSY's dr. arrived, and Alex is on the mend?
That's great about KARMA BEKS! The more the merrier! I'm starting to panic about getting down their etc on public transport, but I've figured that if I don't try soon, the chance will go! Wouldn't it be great if we could arrange a day that EVERYONE could make Smile.
CANDI, yes, I think they start to 'wake up' at this stage, and it can result in unsettledness (such a word?!); HV says this is the reason why so many people wean early, as they 'misinterpret' general grouchiness for hunger..hmm, well, I've goe and got the baby rice and some organic jars of fruit...wonder how long I'll last out? Grin.
Right, she's well-grizzley, so up for a sleep missus!!

BOB! read BEKs 9.43 post, as this is the standard advice for fever, and not what DH/mum advises I think Smile.

babyonboard · 10/03/2006 16:51

thanks diege (and beksmum!)..best go play nurse...
