Four day weeks sound wonderful figgy... wonder if figgyboy will get a tooth shortly?

mopsytop · 05/07/2012 20:57

One of the other kids at nursery bit minimopsy at nursery today! On the nose. Big teethmarks either side of her nose. Poor little bean. Apparently the mother of the child was mortified, poor thing. LMF, hope octoboy is ok. And Gee.

LittleMissFlustered · 05/07/2012 21:24

Turns out he has a nasty set of tonsils. He has antibiotics, but his temp is 39.4° and all I can give fir that is calpol:( Hoping it kicks in soon.

Gee I hope they see you soon and tht it turns out to be something benign and harmless.

Off to try to comfort the octopus, he's not a happy man, and he doesn't want milk:(

NorthernChinchilla · 05/07/2012 21:33

You're joking, tonsillitis? Poor little Octoboy, that's bloody grim when you're an adult, never mind as a baby. Hope you both don't have too rough a time of it, and that the calpol kicks in soon.

And poor little minimopsy! Hope the bitemarks fade soon...I bet the other mother was mortified, and I bet we'll all be/have already been in that position.

Dinner was served. I am happier.

Am just putting together the stuff for my friend and her baby, hope she likes it!

All these poorly babies again Sad hope they get better soon!

Friend had her baby today (c-section at 38 weeks). I have a picture... she's teeny weeeeeeny at 5lb4oz Grin mum and baby doing well though - yay! I have picture and she's gorgeous Grin

OiMissus · 05/07/2012 21:57

I'm as much an international drug dealer as you are all hairy truckers!
gee hope it turns out to be nothing at all and disappears.
Poor octoboy! Sorry to hear about his tonsillitis!Sad
BOi has done 4 poops today and has munched on everything. There'll be teeth in there somewhere!
And the little blighter can now get up onto his feet. It's brilliant, but scary! We just can't leave him at all now.

LittleMissFlustered · 05/07/2012 22:04

Mopsy the girlspawn was bitten at preschool when she was about three. She was marked on her back, through two layers of clothing, the other child went mad like a cornered feral cat and just lashed out at my poor girl. She's never been traumatised by it, though she did steer well clear of the other girl for a fair few weeks:o The other mum was utterly distraught, but it just one of those things. Hope mini is happy in herself:)

I'm going to get octoboy a babygros and paint a plague cross on it with fabric paint, I feel he needs it poor sod :o He's dropped off to sleep now. Temp is still very high, but I'm giving the paracetamol the benefit of the doubt for another fifteen minutes before I start to worry too much.

MissRee · 05/07/2012 22:14

Hope poor octoboy's temp comes down soon, LMF. Especially as it's such a warm night too!

seven77 · 05/07/2012 22:42

Sorry just a quick post.

gee hope it turns out to be nothing and that you get an appointment ASAP.

lmf poor octoboy :( hope the calpol kicks in and he's on the mend soon.

Day from hell here. DD has been really clingy/screaming when put in the playpen all day and I've got nothing done. DH has been a grumpy arse, we had a massive argument earlier but all is ok now. Apparently I can't be pregnant though, AF must be on the way because I've been in a bad mood all day Hmm.

aethelfleda · 05/07/2012 22:52

Boo for days from hell, seven, and for tonsillitis. Hope Octoboy's temp settles soon and that you both get a little rest overnight.

We went fantasy school shopping today, visited the vair competitive ofsted 1 school where we are thinking of moving. Turns out the "open evening" they told us about was actually the school display evening for current pupils who flooded the place with their parents, and in no way showed anything useful about the school apart from giving us free rein to wander through the classrooms. The school field was tiny, the whole place felt crowded (and they are in the process of expanding numbers by 30%). Plus (and here's the swinger) to stand any chance of getting
In it's compulsory to live in a small expensive
Strip of housing which has NO SHOPS, so no way to buy a pint of milk without cycling/driving into town proper. As a tea/coffee addict the ability to wander 100 yards down the road to a corner shop is highly important.
Next!

So much illness! Get well vibes to all those either ill themselves or nursing ill babies.

Quick one for you all - current weights please! Seb is being weighed tomorrow and I'm paranoid as usual. At 18 weeks he was 12lb 61/2oz and had crept back up to the 2nd. He'll be 28 weeks tomorrow so I am hoping for at least 6.5kg or 14lb 5oz.

That doesn't sound like a lot compared to some of yours? I know I shouldn't be comparing but....

aethelfleda · 06/07/2012 03:07

Hi Kitty, don't worry, there is a huge range of normal. The non-existant "average" baby weighs 22lb at one year old.

Figgygal · 06/07/2012 06:06

Cripes DS was 22lbs at 6 months Blush

hawthers · 06/07/2012 07:04

From the smaller end of the scale f chops was 7.43kg this week at 27 weeks

mopsytop · 06/07/2012 07:21

kitty, minimopsy was 16lb10 at I think 28 weeks and she's 50th centile so loads of leeway either way. There is a huge range of normal.

OiMissus · 06/07/2012 08:25

BOi's tracking somewhere near the Figgyboy-centile, I think. I haven't had him weighed for weeks, but could give Sinbad a run for his spinach with these "guns". he he he! Don't compare Seb to our bruisers. If he's happy and well, he'll be fine. And I think I'm right in saying that their weights and sizes now are not necessarily indicators of their future sizes. BOi may well turn into a Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen and Seb may become Lawrence Dallallio (last one written as spoken, no idea how you spell the rugby guy's name) - you know what I mean. :)
Anyway, own up, who was it? I distinctly asked you to not say anything and even Ssshushed you (how rude!). Somehow BOi got wind of my hopes and expectations and decided to launch his own boob reclamation project. He did not sleep weel last night, and no amount of calming would soothe him. He wanted to nurse. - Definitely teething again.
But as soon as he gets one, he'll knock it out. He can get up on his feet now in the cot, and against a couple of other things he's tried. here come the bruises.
I love Fridays! I do half a day at work and so get to spend more time with him. And it's going to be great, I just hope we get some nice weather this weekend so we can clean up the patio and play areas. I really need to clear up some of the boxes as well, and sort clothes out. And it'd be good to build up the table tennis table. :)
I bought a washer and a dryer yesterday too. (very exciting purchasing of white goods, even online!) I bought the new LG steam wotsit washers, and the stupidly expensive LG dryer. They're very intelligent these days apparently. They only use the water/time/detergent needed for the load, so supposedly uber-efficient and will save us money in the long term. We shall see. Also, if there's a fault, you do something with your smart phone, and you are then told what action to take...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 06/07/2012 08:26

At 25weeks Sky weighed 15lbs exactly. Will be getting her weighed next Thursday so will update her weight then too Smile

Kitty5824 · 06/07/2012 08:56

Thanks for the reassurance guys. I know that he is fine - bright eyed, loud (!), clear skin, first teeth appearing, hair finally starting to reappear. Not crawling or sitting yet, but can cross a room in the blink of an eye by rolling and is definately starting to chase things in this fashion!

He's taken to food really well both spoonfed mush and blw and has not refused anything yet.

He's just little. Which is fine. And I must bolster my own confidence to stand up to whatever nonsense I get told by the HV (who to be fair I have only seen twice down here and was lovely)

On the plus side, I can still happily carry him in the sling for a few hours Grin

Right, I was going to try to do a big catch up but am actually going to go and force feed serve his lordship breakfast. A friend works for weetabix (Bleugh - grew up downwind of the factory) so tried him on some plain minibix yesterday. Hit. Even more some apple and banana mush mixed in Grin

CherryBlossom27 · 06/07/2012 09:04

Ooh dear! Thought I'd be brave and ask a question on aibu! Let's just say I could live closer to my family, it would make my life much easier and I wish I could see them more often...I especially miss my mum!

Will do a proper catch up later on the thread as got to get packing! X

KateM77 · 06/07/2012 09:35

kitty DS was 19lb 4oz at his latest weigh in. DD was 15lb 4oz at the same age. As aethel said, there's a huge range of normal. Even in one family!

seven77 · 06/07/2012 11:10

cherry oh dear! Ask in chat next time, or ask us!

LMF how is Edward this morning? Can you not give him ibuprofen?

aethel boo to the school, I'm sure the next one will be fab. I know parents often make sacrifices to get their DCs into good schools but that criteria is ridiculous!

oi sounds like the house is coming together. Sorry about the bad night and hope BOi is more settled now. My buffoon of a DH left a chair outside the airing cupboard opposite our bedroom then decided to fall over it at 3am waking Eva up.

I meant to say last night that I thought I'd possibly broken my toe. I caught it on the sofa yesterday and it went sideways and bloody hurt trying to walk. I'm still limping this morning and all round the base of my toe is black/purple and puffy. aethel am I right in thinking they can't do anything for a little toe and I'm going to just have to get on with it?

One more update from me. I tested this morning. Its very very faint but if I hold the test towards the window I'm certain there IS a line. 8 days late, the same as with Eva. I'll be happy when it's a bit easier to see, I'll test again on Sunday or Monday. Aaaahhh Shock :o

GeeandTee · 06/07/2012 11:23

Wow seven ! Tentative congratulations!

Don't know how you have the patience to wait until Sunday/Monday! I would be retesting all day!

seven77 · 06/07/2012 11:24

Thanks gee. I don't have the patience but I know there's no point testing again before then.

hawthers · 06/07/2012 11:29

Eek seven that is amazing! You are so brave having another so soon!

LittleMissFlustered · 06/07/2012 13:48

'lo!

There's a small degree of precipitation happening here in Yorkshire

Octoboy and I indulged in a two hour nana-nap this morning. We needed it. He's still not keeping a feed down, but the calpol has brought his temperature down to acceptable levels so it's better than it was:)

He can't have ibuprofen seven because hs brother had a nasty reaction to it as a baby, and we have yet to identify whether he has asthma yet:( its just not worth testing it and finding out the hard way, so Darryl said no.

Congrats on the tentative positive, hope it all goes well:)

Right. I've got a washer full of milky sheets and blankets, a tumbler full of trousers and a tummy in need of tea! See you all later:)
