seven waiting for the next test outcome ....but bloody hell you are mad Grin

Loving my Friday off Been to rhyme time and later off to see a colleagues 3 wk old DS he was 10lb 14 when born so hes another monster baby Grin. Lo been asleep an hour need to get him up for lunch soon so we can go out though the rain has started again .....god it's miserable

Was supposed to go to a local music festival tomorrow but all our friends have dropped out (the last ones without telling us I just saw their tickets for sale on fb so am not impressed). Wasn't planning on going if it rains with lo but will have to see now if we go at all.

HoneyLovesCake · 06/07/2012 14:28

LMF glad octoboys temp is down, hope he makes a speedy recovery.

seven congratulations, I wish I were in your shoes now, really want to be pregnant soon Envy

kitty hope the weigh in goes well, I took Rocco for his today as he's 7 months & he's actually lost weight since last month :( I'm upset obviously but trying not to stress about it. He's down from 8.78kg to 8.8kg.
I go to slingmeets & know mums who carry 2, 3 & 4 year olds in slings so I don't think you have to worry about giving that up if he puts on too much weight ;) What type are you using?

awch not sure if I've missed an update but congrats to you too i hope :)

seven77 · 06/07/2012 14:49

Yes, think I am probably mad, if it's early like the other 2 I'll have a 15 month age gap :o. I've kept looking at it and the line is definitely more noticable now the test has dried out a bit Blush. It's still very faint but I can see itby just tilting it slightly now, I don't need to be by the window.

awch hoping for an update soon.

honey are you trying yet?

figgy that's pretty bad of them not to say anything, surely they must have realised you'd see them on there?

HoneyLovesCake · 06/07/2012 15:21

seven I haven't found the time to have a bikini wax yet Blush but I don't think I'm ovulating anyway as I could always feel it & Rocco nurses hourly day & night >_<
TMI Alert: He had a couple of days when he was really sick with a virus when he went off boob almost entirely & about 10 days later I started spotting, was sure it was AF but nothing came of it. Need to start charting again really & of course dtd Grin
15 month age gap sounds heavenly to me...I would've been happy with less if nature allowed it!

Quick question, well 2...can I give Rocco cashew butter? He stole my peanut butter on toast & loved it but I don't think he's meant to have peanuts yet? Plus it has sugar & salt but the cashew butter doesn't. Is it ok or are all nut/seed butters out?

And what time do your LOs go to sleep. I'm struggling with this, he'll go down at 7pm but then he's up before 7am (as early as 5am) & I'm not a morning person. Also with meals & bath & naps there don't seem to be enough hours in the day. If I let him him have a late nap he can stay awake until 8 or 9 but this seems very late for a baby. Confused

jigglebum · 06/07/2012 16:35

Afternoon - miserable weather here again so listening to DS play lego games very loudly with PILs as I supposedly mark exam papers - am very bored though , hence the MNing. I have had a knackering week with exam marking every evening for 3 hours or so after the DCs are in bed, on top of all the normal household/childcare stuff as of course DH is not trying to make my live any easier during these 2 weeks or so when I am effectively working (paid work) for almost as many hours as him, mine just has to fit in with everything else. He is however taking the Dcs to his parents tomorrow all day and overnight so I will have a day of work and a night off - bliss - I may go for a swim or to the cinema or something. My MIL is concerned I may be lonely Sat night - hah - its a long time since I had any time to myself so no.

LMF - I really hope Octoboy gets better soon.

gee - hope it turns out to be nothing serious for your LO.

Re weights I must get Freya weighed again (haven't for 2 months) but she looks well but is fairly petite still. Re bed - I am always desperate for some DC free time so freya goes down at 7pm and DS at 730. Freya wakes about 7/730 next morning as does DS. However she has been waking back up a bit in the evenings as it is light but I put her straight back down. she wont however sleep like that anywhere else, so good luck to DH tomorrow night!

jigglebum · 06/07/2012 16:37

oh and seven congrats! Although I also think you are mad in the nicest possibly way! I could never cope with that small an age gap

aethelfleda · 06/07/2012 16:41

seven if your little toe is bust then it needs strapping to the one next door (your local walk-in centre or GP nurse should be able to show you how) and it's only worth an Xray if the foot itself is also v sore. Put it up as much as you can, I'd usually advise ibuprofen but don't if you might be pregnant! (congratulations you crazy lady!) Just paracetamol is sensible for the soreness. And I hope you're necking folic acid...

honey current advice is all nuts should be avoided until
1 year: in practice it's up to you, but it's quite possible to be allergic to cashews/hazel/brazil nuts if there is early exposure. Generally I'd advise caution and a strict 12 month avoidance if there are any allergies in the family. Up to you.

And news here is DS is trying to crawl! This is new chez aethel, the DDs were cruisers. Help!

HoneyLovesCake · 06/07/2012 17:03

Thanks aethel no allergies here but a nut allergy would be pants (my Xmas More-Than-Pecan Pie has achieved legendary status in my family) so I guess I'll hold off for now & scoff the cashew butter myself :) Shame as he happily chews & spits out most things >_< but he got really excited about the peanut butter.

NorthernChinchilla · 06/07/2012 20:02

I let DS have some of my peanut butter on toast HLC - I take a relatively relaxed view on stuff as there aren't any allergies in my family (well, my Mum's massively allergic to penecillin but I'm not going to be feeding DS that Grin) and just go for the trying him on whatever. If he's eaten it already you could go on, but up to you obviously!
DS goes down at about half seven, and wakes around 6, much to DP's displeasure. If I'm around at the weekend and feed him straight away he can go off again for another 45-90 mins.

That sounds lovely jiggle, do relax (post-marking) and enjoy yourself. And you can do it all in the knowledge that it'll be really lovely to see them all the next day Smile.

I've got the bunting out seven, but it's not yet up- will wait for the confirmation line on Sunday/Monday. Fingers crossed for you!

Really hope Octoboy is on the mend today LMF, sounds like the Calpol helped at least. Hope you're not washed away, it looks Bob-awful back up North.

DS was 19lb 3 I think at his last weigh-in Kitty, that was about two weeks ago and he's....um... 6 months and 3/4 Confused?

Tomorrow, if the weather's OK, we'll go off and visit the castle we were planning to last weekend for our anniversary, and then have a curry in the evening- our local restaurant does take away. Sunday is going to be a day of flop/shop/gardening/dump and other exciting domestic stuff- how about everyone else?

LittleMissFlustered · 06/07/2012 20:29

It was bobbing awful all day Northern, then glorious sunshine appeared from about six thirty...

Right, sleepytime! Busy weekend ahoy:/

OiMissus · 06/07/2012 21:12

Oh seven!! Very exciting!!
I had a productive afternoon. I picked him up from nursery, did ikea (3 rugs), then homebase (curtain rings and sealant), then pets at home (bi orb service kits) then M&S (tea and wine). BOi was not so keen on shopping today, can't think why... But he LOVED seeing the fish in the pet shop!
At least we got that all done so we can stay holed up and unpack more boxes enjoy the weekend!
Hope y'all have a great weekend! X

seven77 · 06/07/2012 22:20

Thanks aethel. I recommend a playpen, it's good knowing I can leave the room for a couple of minutes without worrying about her eating a piece of playmobil. She can also get to the cars is DS car tub now she's on her hands and knees.

jiggle enjoy your day off!

honey DD goes down around 7 and is up at 5, she needs to go to bed at 7 though tbh, any later and she's just overtired and grumpy.

northern sounds like a lovely weekend, hope the weathers good for you.

oi sounds like a very productive and expensive day! Enjoy your unpacking weekend!

Kitty5824 · 06/07/2012 22:32

Slightly epic post ? sorry!!

So, weigh-in update. He was 6.5kg exactly. So 14lb 5oz. Perfectly following just above the 2nd. Smile Smile Smile

seven Ouch for the toe and eek for the test Grin

lmf how is Octoboy this evening?

honey sorry about your weigh in, but as I said on fb I would imagine it?s down to the few days sickness and maybe being a bit more active? He?s still bigger than Seb!! I?m using a Wilkinet one at the moment but am lusting after one of these I never made it to the sling meet/library in Manchester, need to do some research to see if there are any near here.

Oh, and re bedtime, we don?t have any real routine here yet. I too like to sleep until at least 7am , but really we?re just letting him dictate at the moment. He?s usually asleep on Daddy by 9.30ish, wakes for a feed about 12 and sometime between 3 and 5am. I?ve been trying to give him a bf about 8ish and then porridge or weetabix around 9 or 9.30. I?m sure this will change again next week though....

Jiggle Enjoy your me time! I had to make a point of explaining to my DH that last week was my holiday too and he couldn?t just sit on his arse for 7 days leaving me and my Mum to deal with Seb. I hope to raise Seb to not need everything spelling out for him all the time.

Oi belated congratulations on the move. Am very jealous of the house, and the lovely blank canvas you have. The kitchen looks awesome.

Plans for the weekend ? other than watching the Tour de France nothing to do with Cancellara?s thighs

Sat ? over to Mum?s to paint our nursery furniture which is still in her garage. Bought off a friend along with cot and god knows what else it was all perfectly serviceable pine, but DH wanted to update it so now the drawers, wardrobe and under cot drawer need painting to match. Once done we?ll be moving him into his own room. Hurrah!

Sat eve ? meal out with the girls. Really looking forward to this...chinese, wine, school friends with wildly different lives. Perfect ingredients for carnage!

Sun ? GP Grin, Tennis Sad, more cycling Wink. Roast beef and all the trimmings. Oh and ironing Sad

HoneyLovesCake · 06/07/2012 23:09

kitty heard good things about the r&r's but you need to buy preloved. I'm sending you a friend request on fb so that I can add you to a fsot (for sale or trade) sling group. They hold their value brilliantly if you buy secondhand so it's a bit like putting money in a savings account Wink can you tell I'm addicted :) The mums on their are super helpful too, loads of babywearing consultants & sling library "owners" so you can ask advice on what to buy; beware though they are terrible enablers! :)

Kitty5824 · 06/07/2012 23:10

honey thanks! A new addoction. DH will be pleased.... Grin

Kitty5824 · 06/07/2012 23:28

Addoction?? Addiction

LittleMissFlustered · 07/07/2012 01:41

The snot goblin is snotty!

This has been a public service announcement. You will now be returned to your scheduled programming.

GeeandTee · 07/07/2012 06:45

Wow, only had to settle once and feed once in the night! She's been up since 5.30am though > <

Quick question - is anbesol ok to use for teething?

mopsytop · 07/07/2012 07:29

I use anbesol gee so I hope so!

6 hr drive down M1/M25 yest in horrendous rain (nightmare) instead of the usual 3.5 hrs. Boo. 2 hrs stuck on M25 crawling along & poor minim was bawling and there's nowhere to stop and I was in the front so had to just leave her. Eventually she cried herself to sleep.

Exciting re: test result seven!

Good haul Oi!

Nice one on the weigh in kitty!

How's octoboy doing apart from the snot attack LMF?

to everyone. Right off to make the daily vat of coffee...

Figgygal · 07/07/2012 08:56

6hours sound horrendous mopsy i have avoided long journeys with lo so far in anticipation of such bawling and upset.

Routine in our house tends to be bed at 7.30-8 depending on how long his afternoon nap was and whether hes tired but unfortunately theres no consistency on when he wakes usually after 6.30 but anything after 6 we just bring him in with us with his breakfast bottle. He only tends to be up an hr before needing another nap anyway.

My friends 3 wk old baby is 12lbs and she BFing him after a horrendous sounding labour and section followed by a week long hospital stay am in awe of her.

Well our days plans have gone to pot so need to find ideas of things to do when its wet outside getting fed up of this weather ......lo cant even get out in his swing in the garden Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 07/07/2012 09:15

Wow...that is one huuuuuuge baby figgy, and your poor friend. Hope she's getting everyone else to lift the baby!

Oh mopsy, that's grim, I don't know who I feel more sorry for, you or minim. It's awful when that happens- I still sit in the back of the car for any journey that's more than a pop out to the shops Blush as it's the one thing that really, really gets me. DH has had to pull over a number of times so I can get DS out and feed him or something.

They're rather fab carriers HLC, I can see why you two are lusting Grin I haven't used my moby for ages as DS seemed to be getting frustrated at not being able to see everything, and was twisting round and getting wriggly- any thoughts from you or aethel, oh goddesses of the slings?!

OK- heralds trumpet please! We have two bottom teeth!

And....bad mummy award also. Bf'd DS, and then came down and gave him breakfast- half a weetabix with some mashed up pear. I sniffed his full fat milk and wasn't impressed, so chucked that and gave him some of my semi-skimmed, which was fine.
Except it wasn't. After him nomming down the lot with enthusiasm, I poured the rest out to drink, and it was sour. I. Am. Mortified. Blush
It smelt fine and he ate it all though, aaargh....no projectile vomming as yet, but can't believe I've given it to him!

I'm actually a woven wrap girl myself [https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/181456_364433923621243_1454755997_n.jpg this one] is my current object of desire but I have been known to have buckle lust [http://ocah.typepad.com/.a/6a00e5549756c08833016767a955a1970b-320wi this] is particularly yummy; I'm a sucker for a pixie hood Grin

HoneyLovesCake · 07/07/2012 09:48

I'm actually a woven wrap girl myself this one is my current object of desire but I have been known to have buckle lust this is particularly yummy; I'm a sucker for a pixie hood

Been a while since I posted links Blush

aethelfleda · 07/07/2012 09:48

Hee hee northern, don't worry, he probably just thinks you wanted him to try cottage cheese It's common for a similar thing to happen with sippy cups (taste them yourself from time to time!) as yuckies tend to grow in the teats/straws...

And I bow to the superiorness of honey's sling experience, she babywaears a lot more than I and even meets other dudes with interesting slings (whereas I go on the school run with DS mostly in buggy now, and when
i do take him in the Moby I almost always get comments of "is he STILL in that?!" as most local mums only use babybjorns when they are really tiny...talking of which, Honey, you are extremely naughty posting links to the Rose and Rebellion site, I'd vaguely heard mutterings
But had never seen how fantastic they look, and becase you can put the child in a back carry on your own (not possible with wrap slings), I just HAD to buy one (after wheedling to DH that I reaaaly liked the look, he was persuaded by the clippiness and simple design as he likes the babybjorn but DS is starting to get too big for it now and I really don't lile the way it loadbears). Aarg, I'm on SMP, the last thing I need is a sling habit! Anyway, I have a clunky old frame backpack carrier and I'm hoping this will replace it.

DIY and housework here this weekend: am painting many small knocks and scrapes around the place, trying to tidy
And declutter and move a bit of excess furniture out. And a side order of getting DS to take bottles. Sigh, here we go again....

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 07/07/2012 09:55

Seven Ouch for toe - Congrats for BFP Grin exciting times ahead!

Wedding was lovely yesterday. Just a shame about the rain. Both girls were brilliant too Smile

Darcie's off on sleepover today so just entertaining Sky today Smile
