Hoppy Burpday Hawthers!

Air you can get a nitty gritty on prescription, save you £10!

Today I will mostly be disliking the humidity.

BJR · 30/06/2012 07:57

Happy Birthday Hawthers and pompoms for F for the good sleeping!

Good luck for Kate and Aethel with operation reclaim boobs! Hope the babies are co-operative :)

DS was very cute this morning, woke up crawled over me up to DP and started pulling on bits of his face. I found it very amusing! We have a chilled out day planned for today and then taking the boys for a day out at a Farm Park tommorrow. DSS is very excited about seeing the wooly pigs.

AnAirOfHope · 30/06/2012 08:32

Happy birthday :)

AnAirOfHope · 30/06/2012 08:36

I have the nitty gritty combe but i just used normal conditionor after i had washed the nit spray out.

Todays big question: Can i wash pillows in my washing machin and can they go tru dryer?

mopsytop · 30/06/2012 08:57

Happy birthday hawthers, hope you've a great day and get to
open at least some of your own presents!!

CherryBlossom27 · 30/06/2012 10:04

Hi everyone,

So happy it's the weekend :)

Well the cheese and spinach muffins were delicious, I could have eaten the lot! I just had a taste though and DS had the rest! He loved them unfortunately, so the rest are for him nicely stored in the freezer!

I'm going to attempt some savoury flapjacks today, and I also want to make some apple and pear purées to put in the freezer for DS's breakfast toppings.

I have been slightly naughty this morning by posting the pictures of Chantelle's bump on my Facebook page to dig at a certain person who made some particularly twatty comments about my bump two days after giving birth. I'm not sure if I'm being passive aggressive or brave but hey ho it gave me a snigger! Hope he sees it! Just so you know he was definitely trying to upset me, wasn't just being innocent and not aware etc.

I'm genuinely pleased to see these pictures, such a nice change to see a celebrity not hiding their bump and good for her! Not a fan, but Chantelle has definitely gone up in my estimation today!

Happy Birthday Hawthers

anyway, better disappear as DS is showing signs of waking from his morning nap!

seven77 · 30/06/2012 10:19

Happy Birthday hawthers.

Good luck on the boob refusal kate and aethel, let us know how you're getting on.

We had a good night here, didn't hear a peep from Eva until 5.45. Eva had a whole peach mashed up for her breakfast earlier and ate the lot!

NorthernChinchilla · 30/06/2012 10:30

Happy Birthday to yoooooou, hawthers, I won't sing the rest of it cos I'm shite and it'd be painful Grin.

Glad you had a good night seven- I've also managed to get nectarine down DS, not as much as your Eva though, that's impressive!

Hope you feel a bit better soon figgy- I found when I went back to work that I was shattered in the evenings for the first few weeks, and got some lurgy, probably from being on public transport twice a day again, and mixing with more people. It does get better though, promise.

Well done Bee for surviving, and yes, I'll stop worrying about DS's room being 23 degrees... Sounds like you've had a good time but are more than ready to come home- hope you have a safe and bearable journey.

Good luck to Kate and aethel, don't pop Wink.

My poor friend is now 41 + 3-4, and at her check up yesterday was only 1cm dilated. She's been told its induction on Monday if nothing's happening. I want to wish her luck, but wondering if I should warn her induction can be painful (from what I've read on MN?) Do not want to do the scare-mongering prophet of doom, but wouldn't want her to suffer unnecessarily...

PS- has anyone else done their Enid Blyton name (to the left in discussions of the day)? Mine's Joyce St Thomas!

Figgygal · 30/06/2012 10:45

northern I was induced and it wasn't painful or unpleasant in any way so while it can be not a nice experience if she's worrying about it it can turn out absolutely fine too.

LittleMissFlustered · 30/06/2012 16:14

I did my Blyton name, I'm Enid Dorchester-Maybury:o

jigglebum · 30/06/2012 16:37

hi - just marking place. Am currently trying to do exam marking inbetween child care - I need to do 25-30 hours a week for 2 weeks ish but can only work when DH back from work/kids in bed and Sat/Sun. Makes for a rather stressful 2 weeks but need the money. DH coping with the DCs fine today as I have been in the study all day but house looks like a bomb has hit it and the DCs are remarkably grubby. And he wonders what I do all day....!

Think there is quite a lot of the last thread I need to catch up on as have been away this week. Perhaps tonight with a glass of wine. right back to work

aethelfleda · 30/06/2012 16:50

Progress Report (sort of)... I have kind of cheated so not much to teport yet. dS had two feeds from me this morning at 6am and 8am, then went off to the school fair setup. dH gave him formula at 10.30 am, he took one ounce... Fair went well apart from crazy wind that damaged some of our new gazebos (sob) but was good. dH brought the children and I fed DS at 1.30 (last feed for me). dH tried some formula at 3pm but he wouldn't tale any. I have just fed him 1.5 ounces of EBM fresh from the pump.
His next bottle will be formula offered at 6-7pm. I feel really wibbly and really hope he'll take a greater amount when he's actually thirsty...

KateM77 · 30/06/2012 17:54

Progress report from me too. It's going remarkably well! I did last feed at 7am, left DS with DH while I went to Tesco with DD. DH offered formula at 10, and kept at it on and off for 2 hours over which time DS took about 2oz. I expressed at lunchtime while DH offered more formula to DS with no success. I took over and he drained 7oz. He then took 5oz of expressed milk this afternoon. I'll offer another 7oz of formula before bed and see how long he sleeps. I'll pump again once he's in bed. Boobs hurt!

MissRee · 30/06/2012 18:17

aethelfleda · 30/06/2012 19:10

It's got a bit better: after I posted he woke up and took another 1.5 oz of EBM, then we had dinner (toast fingers and strawb set yoghurt), then he took 3 oz of formula! The Spawn is in the habit of frequent snacking and up until now has always fallen asleep with any. More than an ounce of formula, so I'm only offering 4 oz bottles at the mo (which I'm pretty sure won't do him overnight) but we'll see. I will express later when boobs are uncomfy but don't want to express too much IYSWIM.
Apart from a heartrending 15 mins when he was nuzzling to try to find boob it is mostly OK. I do feel a bit but hopefully we'll get there. Great going with the 7 oz Kate, I am in awe!!!

KateM77 · 30/06/2012 19:17

He's done so well . The only slight problem now is that the day's routine has gone so wonky he had the last two feeds earlier than usual, and his last nap later than usual and as a result has had his 'bedtime' 7oz but is sitting here wide awake. I may have to give him another few oz in a bit to get him off to sleep for the night. And then finally pump!

It seems he's like DD was when she first switched to bottles, and only wants to take them from me. I'd hoped he might be more accepting of them now that he's all guns blazing with the food: had falafel burger, pitta bread with hummous and some apple slices for lunch today Grin

for AethelSpawn. The boys' done good today!

KateM77 · 30/06/2012 19:22

Oh, and yes I SWYM about not wanting too express too much. I hope my supply drops quickly, I'll struggle to pump more than twice a day once DH isn't around and that's gonna hurt!

MissRee · 30/06/2012 20:20

Yay well done to both of you and the babies Grin

Spent 3 hours at Bluewater today trying unsuccessfully to find a birthday present for my Dad. We did get some bargains in Gap for Jack though - t-shirt, shorts and a funky hat all for £12! Unfortunately the baby sale wasn't as good so we didn't get anything for Freya and she already has too many clothes

We're off to my parents tomorrow for my Dad's birthday BBQ. We might pop to Asda first and get a little paddling pool as it's supposed to be glorious Grin

KateM77 · 30/06/2012 20:37

Thankfully no more milk was required. He had some water and cuddles, I put him down at 8 and he chatted for a while then went to sleep. I've pumped but boobs still hurt. Head hurts and tonsil hurts again, so I've popped some paracetamol and am heading to bed.

Hope the night ahead is kind to us all...

seven77 · 30/06/2012 20:39

Brilliant news kate and aethel, and for the LO's!

I didn't have to do the shush stroke routine, she woke as I was carrying her upstairs, she cried out a couple of times when I left the room but that was 90 minutes ago and I haven't heard a peep since.

AF was due yesterday/today but no sign of it yet. I tested this morning and got a negative, but I was 8 days late before I got a positive with Eva. AWCH are you still trying? Anyone else mad enough?

LittleMissFlustered · 30/06/2012 20:49

I'm currently designing a terry towelling straightjacket. It'll make millions I tell you, millions!

MissRee · 30/06/2012 21:02

Octobot at it again, LMF? Grin

MissRee · 30/06/2012 21:02

Oops I made him into a robot! jack will be impressed

LittleMissFlustered · 30/06/2012 21:05

Feeding him is a nightmare. He doesn't want the spoon, he just loves his fingers so much they're in his mouth all the time! I'm having to pin his arms while I feed him. He has very little interest in feeding himself, though he will wave a rice cake/spoon about if you give him one.

He's asleep now, so bed for me too. All the windows in the universe are open in the hope of catching a breeze:o

Night folks, hope it's a universally quiet one:)
