(aethel I was going to remonstrate with you earlier with your bad mum statement, but I couldn't find a suitably ridiculous haddock to match your ridiculous statement! We all know what a good mum you are, as do you!)
We've had visitors all yesterday and today. No one brought paintbrushes, but some have helped to sort boxes. We're doing ok. Nowhere near straight, but the lounge is set up comfortably, the kitchen looks fab ( that was a big job!) and our bedroom is ... Well, we have a bed and the Stokke cot is pulled up alongside not that he sleeps in it. lmf when we have the Mn party, if you stay over, octoboy can try out the Stokke. Grin
We were panicking as we couldn't find the nuts and bolts for the dining table or the wardrobe, for 2 days we've been searching. We found them today. So now we have a dining table in the kitchen. ( the dining room will have to wait, or become something else)
My BIL is coming tomorrow, I think, to build the wardrobe and Alistair's nursery furniture! Grin and then I'll have to think of a theme. I had all the ideas when pg, but now his little personality is developing, it's not so easy.
We have no decorating to do seven, not yet. Everything is perfect in its plainness. Smooth, fresh magnolia walls. Boring as hell, but I need some time to determine what to do.
I'm going to do the downstairs loo first. I'm going to make it fabulous. Easily done with such a small room, I hope! Wink
Ali - sorry! - BOi has been great today, he's had weetabix, melon, a full Frube, and some carrot. There's nothing that he doesn't like.
The table tennis table is being delivered tomorrow.Grin so I'll be working from home. We got broadband connected on Saturday.
Did I tell you about seeing the two owls last night? It was amazing. And this morning we watched some mission impossible squirrels (4x) playing along our fence, and a wabbit in nextdoor's garden. I love it here!!!!!
So when y'all coming up for a party? I'm thinking of doing a housewarming party at the end of July. We had talked about meeting up in brum on the 21st - but maybe you could come to sunny Bolton instead? There are a few rooms if some want to stay over. Grin ( you aren't ALL hairy truckers with strange fetishes are you?!)

NorthernChinchilla · 01/07/2012 21:15

I'm a very smooth trucker with totally vanilla fetishes thank you very much!

DS has had 1 45 min nap today he spent all morning refusing to sleep but moaned, groaned and whined solidly for about 2.5 hrs in fact the happiest he was all morning was when he was lying on the floor surrounded by cushions by the bathroom door while I cleaned.....odd child!! We watched the lion king again this pm and then had friends round for tea thank god for their 3yr old endless entertainment for wee man.

Good to hear the move has gone well am now awaiting aethels magic mike review Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 01/07/2012 21:21

I'm not vanilla in the slightest, but I'm very well trained behaved Wink

Spawn 2 woke up spawn 3. Spawn 1 wisely pretended to be asleep while I grumbled. All spawns now asleep and I'm bemoaning the lack of chocolate in the house. Sleep time!

seven77 · 01/07/2012 21:23

I'm 3 days late. I've been looking on the due date calculator at when potential baby would be due. Someone slap me!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 01/07/2012 21:41

I'm not a fan of vanilla however, I don't have to many strange fetishes lol....ps I'm a smooth gal not a hairy trucker Grin

AWomanCalledHorse · 01/07/2012 22:06

seven, no slaps! We've been ttc since he was born so you'll get Envy & probably a load of unwanted baby stuff if you told the thread you were pg!
I've been symptom spotting all week so I am hoping for a BFP (AF is due mon/tues).

Oi, sounds like it's all coming together!

DSM, hope Darcie's sleep settles soon. Yay for rings, are you getting them engraved?

Figgy, I may have to start watching kids tv instead of making DS watch what I want..although we found out via the magic of YouTube he loves the AirWolf theme tune, oh & there is some classical music he likes to bounce too..he's vair refined .

Brew for the nightshifters.

OiMissus · 01/07/2012 22:37

Oh Airwolf! He was lovely - or at least I thought so way back when!

mopsytop · 01/07/2012 22:53

Hi all, I've been working all weekend (11 hrs today) but FINALLY managed to finish this blood never-ending chapter! Just need to print off and proof-read tomorrow, then can send off tommy supervisor for her to cover it in red pen and make me entirely rewrite it review. One more to draft plus the conclusions, then I'll prob have to rewrite them all ten times before it is good enoug to hand in. But every little step gets me closer and I've found this chapter really hard going. It's also been hard finding a rhythm when minimopsy keeps getting bugs and has to miss nursery so I can't work. So I'm very pleased. And very tired so sorry not to reply to anyone, will try to do do tomorrow! Fingers crossed for a good night for all!

LittleMissFlustered · 01/07/2012 23:04

Clusterboob:(

Been feeding on and off since about half eight:(

I'm thinking tomorrow might need to involve a nana-nap.

aethelfleda · 01/07/2012 23:06

Magic Mike review: channing Tatum (Mike) = nice bit of stuff (for a short haired bloke). Charismatic, Good pecs and cheekbones especially. Alex pettifer (the kid): played his part OK but not my type at all. Cody Horne (Blonde woman, Kid's sister): more wooden than the scenery throughout. Apparently her dad runs Warner Brothers (so nepotism is alive and well in Hollywood). Overall: fairly predictable story, a few dialogue lines were off shot, but it was funny, well thought out with some nice quirky camera shots, and I enjoyed it. One to attend with your friends (they are clearly targetting the straight girl/gay man market) rather than your manly other halves. Mark Kermode would enjoy it I think.

aethelfleda · 01/07/2012 23:07

And hope you get a good rest lmf. i'm off to bed too, we'll see how things go tomorrow. Night all.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/07/2012 06:12

AWCH We had the date engraved on them 18 AUG 12 Smile

Well another full nights sleep here Smile Sky woke about 10 mins ago and Darcie is still asleep Smile

aethelfleda · 02/07/2012 07:12

Wow, for Sky!

We had a good night for us (DS slept until
4am) BUT both the DDs had temps last night and them at 4 DS woke up hot too. Neurofen happened and the planned BF, but I really can't fluid restrict him when he's hot/poorly, so bosom reclaimation is going tonhave to go onto slowmo for a bit. I think I will offer alternate boob and bottlea
For a few days and accept he's not going to take much bottle. Oh well, the Spawn can't help being ill (unless he did it on purpose in which case I have been totally outclassed and salute his Machiavellian tendencies.)

mopsytop · 02/07/2012 07:13

Glad you enjoyed aethel, interested to see what mark kermode says now! Listen to his podcasts while pottering on sat mornings or on long car journeys

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/07/2012 07:22

Aethel Hope your spawns feel better soon.

aethelfleda · 02/07/2012 07:24

Well, I don't think he'll love it, there
Isn't a subplot, some of the scenes are a bit bulky, and he may be annoyed by Wooden pouting Blonde Lady... He'll probably say "I liked it , it's OK with some directional flaws, see it for some light entertainment but a classic lasting movie it ain't"

hawthers · 02/07/2012 08:08

Grump grump grump

Bloody DH fecking annoying. Two boys up all night. V little sleep.

Banbury

OiMissus · 02/07/2012 08:41

Oh dear Hawthers, here you go, Brew aethel's just prepared a large pot.
Well done Sky!
We didn't have a bad night. For us. He woke twice but both times between 2 and 3, and he grumbled a lot because we kept him in the cot and didn't allow him in the bed. But he stayed the whole night in the cot. :)
I'm working from home today. BIL is coming to build the nursery furniture!! Then we'll start to train BOi to sleep in his new room in his new cot. I expect it'll take a few weeks of gradual introduction. Poor babe, this is his third house to get used to (although he may not have noticed so much). Our stuff has largely remained the same, so he'll take comfort from that, I'm sure. But after almost 7 months of sleeping in our room - or bed -the transition to his own room may come as a bit of a shock.
Have a good day y'all. I'll put the kettle on for any more arrivals.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/07/2012 09:12

Hawthers Brew hope your day gets better.

Oi I'm sure BOi will go in nicely - he might surprise you. :)

seven77 · 02/07/2012 09:14

aethel glad you had a good night out, hope the spawns are all better soon.

oi does he nap ok in the day? The best way to introduce him into his own room is for him to have his daytime naps in there before you actually move him in.

dsm for Sky!

hawthers sorry you had a bad night, grump away.

mopsy well done on getting your chapter finished. How long had you been working on it? Hope it only needs minor editing.

Eva slept well all night but we had the regular 5am start to the day. Still no AF, I'll test tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed for you too AWCH.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/07/2012 09:25

Seven Fingers crossed for your BFP tomorrow.

aethelfleda · 02/07/2012 09:55

Yes good luck seven and awch (are you sure you want to go that long without brie/pate/booze/sleep?? Cool!!!)

mopsytop · 02/07/2012 10:07

Oooh exciting seven and AWCH, fingers crossed. Couldn't face it again just yet, the awfulness of pregnancy has not faded sufficiently from my mind, plus I will get this damn phd submitted before any more baby-age happens!

seven, I started it in nov! 8 months pregnant brain obvs not much use cos I had to redo most of that work. So I've been doing it since April, 3 months Blush especially given that I'd already done all the research (it was a questionnaire survey) but I had to do all the descriptive stats which took forever! My results are extremely convincing though, and the opposite to what j expected which means I can reject the null hypothesis but also reject my own hypothesis. Probably the best outcome I could have wanted really. I have taken a notion that is v widespread and taken for granted and proved that it isnot true, or at least less true than people think (if that makes sense). Of course now I'm worried that it's all really obvious and duh. Need to start having more confidence in my work really...

mopsytop · 02/07/2012 10:10

Oh and it wasn't 3 months work really of course cos I only work third, fri, sat and minimopsy has missed at least 3 weeks of nursery (or 4 actually j think) and several of the Saturdays we had visitors. So in reality not more than a month. Things take so much longer with a baby!!!!
