Robot would be ace, access battery compartment and remote triple A's for instant quietWink

MissRee · 30/06/2012 21:14

Freya nicked half my mint magnum earlier the moobag I really didn't get a say in the matter - deepthroat isn't the word Hmm

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 30/06/2012 21:19

Well Done to Aethel & Kate Keep it up ladies.

I tried my wedding dress back on today it fits like a glove Grin only 48 days to go.

Sky is currently asleep on my bed. Am watching Andy Murray so going to feed Sky at about 10-10:30ish and put her to bed in hope she'll sleep tonight Smile

aethelfleda · 30/06/2012 21:37

Arg, it's gone a bit pearshaped: he's woken up 3 times so far and needed hugging (and an ounce of formula the first time)... dH wonders if maybe I should try morning and night feeds... I'd love to but think it would confuse the little blighter even more, he won't know when to hold out for boob. Feeling sad for making him cry and not feeding him to sleep :( About to pump then attempt bed. Sigh.

MissRee · 30/06/2012 21:45

Good luck for the night shift Aethel

Figgygal · 01/07/2012 04:14

Gah he's been up for an hour between 1.15 and 2.15 and then awake again at 3.30 he falls asleep with cuddles then 10 mins later is awake again. Dh is going spare as he has no patience so ha ing to sort DS out. He's asleep on my knee again not sure what to do for the best can't sit here for next 2 hours

Figgygal · 01/07/2012 06:00

And again .... The little bugger Sad

hawthers · 01/07/2012 07:18

Shh another sleep through (ish hd to go in as he found himself on his tummy and was totally pissed off about it) but he just rammed those.fingers back in and went back to sleep.

lmf have the same problem with fingers when trying to get food in as well = messy

BJR · 01/07/2012 08:04

DS woke every half hour between midnight and 4 and been up for the day since 6. I think first tooth is cutting has made his gum bleed a bit. DSS got up at 6 and has been giving me pagely updates on diary of a wimpy kid since!

Am trying to smile and nod entusiastically, need tea and chocolate!

Plan for the day - trip to see pigs, sheep and donkeys! Then picnic on the beach.

aethelfleda · 01/07/2012 08:25

Morning. Totally feel for you figgy and bjr with the added guilt that it's self inflicted. dH gamely said he would do night shift so DS couldn't smell my milk", but he took 1 oz at about 9, drifted off, then woke every 1.5-two hours overnight. dH cuddled him back to sleep each time, he didn't need a feed (apparently) At 3 DH checked his nappy and said he had pooed ?when, and I was so tired and about to explode i said "shall I feed him", and DH said yes, so I did. He slept for 2 hours and then woke. dH said the middle of night feed counted as a "good morning feed" but e needed to sleep so went back to bed as he was (understandably) knackered. dS is teething as well and a bit snotty. I'm feeling really sad, had to give him 2oz ebm while he wailed befre i could express. Just feel awful knowing I could feed him but DH says we have to do it now (and he does have a point as I know the older they get the more entrenched feeding becomes. It's just hard and I'm feeling like such a crap mum. Blah.

OiMissus · 01/07/2012 08:46

Morning all! Hectic times at Ashworth Towers but it's all good. But no, they didn't leave the bloody table! Sad they left a Stokke Sleepi though Grin, which I was going to put on eBay, but I like it so much so we'll keep it. They left children's furniture, and storage units, office wardrobes, the outdoor swing/slide etc., a bike and a scooter for Ali. And they did clear out all their other rubbish, and left the house spotless. And they left all the v high quality blinds in the bedrooms and kitchen
Back in a min...

seven77 · 01/07/2012 09:01

Sorry to hear about rubbish nights. aethel he'll get there and it has to be done at some point, might as well be now. In the meantime you're not a crap mum, if you say it again there'll be a coming your way :o

oi I can't believe after all that they didn't leave the table! Was it in the fixtures and fittings?

DS has been awake since 5.30, and it shows by his whinging already. I might try to encourage a DVD day. Still no AF...

KateM77 · 01/07/2012 09:08

What no table?

aethel sorry it was a bad night. We had wakeups at 1 and 6. He took 6oz at 1 and I BF'd at 6 but not because DS refused a bottle, it was because I was in agony. My pump is shite at boob draining, so they were still quite full when I went to bed. I spent half the night awake, leaking, and squeezing them out into the sink. I think my transition to bottles may have to be less rapid. Just hope it doesn't lead to confusion and bottle refusal

aethelfleda · 01/07/2012 09:18

kate, I'm fairly sure I'm going to have to feed him a few times a day too if he keeps this up, if you can work a more gradual transition then that's fab (and you will be able to if DS takes 6oz. Our issue is always that he only takes an ounce or two (and I don't think i can face DH "helping" with nights if he's this knocked over without sleep). My hand pump is pretty good but it still felt such a relief to feed him in the wee hours. I think all the wibbling i'm doing is 'ormones, which aren't helping...

O Table!!! Where art thou? What an arse oi, but I suppose if it wasn't written down/nailed down there's not much you could have done. When we looked around our present house there was a lovely darkwood drinks cabinet in the garage, I jokingly said Ooh, you can leave that if you like! And they got surprisingly grumpy about it... Of course with hindsigjt they had obviously moved it out of the house to make it look less crowded in typical "selling tactics" style....

Thanks seven. a quiet day and we'll get through somehow. I have been offered a free ticket to the local flicks to see Magic Mike tonight:
Not sure if i can face it, but might do me good to get out of the house and maybe do A single night feed when I get home...

Figgygal · 01/07/2012 10:47

aethel u must push through and go see magic mike I cant wait !!

What I don't understand about a night like last night is that he slept through probably seven out of the last 10 nights and yet last night he was up three times. The second time he went back to sleep without feeds when he woke at 6 he was still tired put him back in bed he screamed the house down, he came in to our bed and kept screaming until he put the ear of one of his teddys in his mouth At which point he went straight to sleep. We all then slept until 9 Blush he does seem to be regressing on the self settling in the day too when it's nap time. Hopefully it's another of those phases......or teeth..... Who knows Smile

He's out of his 6-9 month trousers which is a pain as he's only worn 1 mothercare pair once and 2 next pairs have never been on. They fit for length but not round the tum the next size up are going to drown him.

OiMissus · 01/07/2012 11:04

Good luck with winding down the bf. I'm going gradually. With no consistency at all...
I can't complain about the table. They left so much stuff of value we've been really lucky. And we can help out friends by gifting some of the kid's furniture. Grin busy day of visitors ahead, better get a wriggle on. Have a nice day all. Xxx

LittleMissFlustered · 01/07/2012 12:00

I have to confess I'm slightly jealous of the stokke cot, I lusted over that for most of my pregnancy:o

Today we are doing housework...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 01/07/2012 12:45

Oi Hope you get unpacked and settled real soon.

We picked up our wedding rings today. So one more thing done.

DP is cooking a lovely toad in the hole roast today. So Sky will be enjoying some Yorkshire pudding & sausage for lunch yum yum yum Grin

aethelfleda · 01/07/2012 16:13

Right, darn it, we have a plan (revised)... figgy you are right, Magic Mike will be good for me. So we have had a reasonably OK frigging lousy at times attempt, DH reckons we should press on but thankfuly acknowledges that he's awful at the night shift. So, I've expressed again, DS reassured me by nomming some fruit pot and chewing a piece of toast and drinking some water from his sippy cup. He then had a half ounce of formula. I'm going to put him in his night nappy and feed him myself at 6.30ish then go to cinema at 7.15. Am going to allow myself one late night feed and one morning feed, the rest will be bottles until evening. Hmmm. Nice plan in theory, huh?

lmf, hearing you with the weaning angst. I have washed the floor twice today in the kitchen.....

seven77 · 01/07/2012 18:15

Good plan aethel. Hope it's successful, go and enjoy your night.

oi you're very brave or the worlds most organised person having visitors already, unless they're all bringing a paintbrush! Is there much decorating to do? Hope you're all settling in well.

DSM I haven't had toad in the hole for aaages . Sounds like the wedding is really coming together now.

figgy I can't imagine them outgrowing the waist first! My extremely skinny two always outgrow the length long before the clothes actually fit them, it makes buying pj's for DS a nightmare as the bottoms fall down constantly! Hope the sleep regression is just a phase or teething.

Eva had a new favourite for tea, mashed strawberries mixed with baby rice to get the right consistency. They were so enjoyed she had a surprising clean face afterwards.

LittleMissFlustered · 01/07/2012 19:06

Glad I'm not the only one who uses baby rice as a thickener. It's the cornflower of weaning!:o

NorthernChinchilla · 01/07/2012 19:37

Well, today was meant to be our trip out to a stately home for our anniversary. However, me feeling ill and having had an awful night with DS put paid to that. I feel flu'y, and have been having stomach cramps, and swolleness for several days on and off, urgh.

It was actually the worst night we've ever had- waking each hour, and at half two flipping himself over repeatedly, whereupon I'd put him back with his dummy in. He finally wedged himself and started howling, and so ended up in bed with me. At a wonderfully odd 90 degree angle to me, little raptor toes digging in and kicking my stomach, and holding onto my arm like a teddy bear. I didn't get a pee til half 6 as each time he noticed me try to sneak out he howled.

Still, we had a nice meal at home last night at least Confused!

That sounds so tough aethel, there's nothing worse than when they're upset and wanting food, and even though you know you're doing the right thing it can't not feel grim. Sounds like a good plan to try out just doing two feeds: less painful all round. Good luck, and of course you are in no way, at all, a bad mum!

And Kate, I feel your pain, oh God I remember. The ache and the hardness and the leaking is so horrible. Hope you do manage with a slower transition, and that your DS takes to it.

Food is going OK here- Ready Brek for breakfast, yoghurt for lunch and a nectarine and banana mash for dinner. Will prompt DP to start with a few other things, especially meat and vegetables, over the next week or two.

Fingers X'd I feel human tomorrow...

I offer Brew to all.

It's bedtime:o Hope the boon reclamation goes well, that all babies sleep peacefully for at least five hours and that tomorrow doesn't involve me being up late again.

Onwards?

Kitty5824 · 01/07/2012 20:40

Hi all, sorry only skimmed the previous posts, just wanted to say THANK YOU to whoever it was with the pork/bbq sauce/can of coke in the slow cooker recipe.

It reminded me that we inherited a slow cooker from my Mum's office (office closing down, she got first dibs on all the equipment that wasn't rented so we now have "new" wine glasses/tumblers/tv for the kitchen/tea towels/tea spoons/slow cooker and all the left over cleaning stuff!!!!) the weekend we moved here, so it got dumped at the back of a cupboard and forgotten about.

Yum, yum, yum, yum....the pork just fell apart Grin

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 01/07/2012 20:51

Had another trying evening with getting Darcie to bed. Although she's asleep now.

Sky been asleep since 7. Will give her some milk in about an hr and hopefully she'll sleep thru again Grin

Hope everyone has had a good weekend?

We collected our wedding rings today Grin so another thing done and then paid for a few things. 47 days to go hehe
