Im another with the Summer Video monitor and find it great even if it does have a really random setting where you can take photos (really not sure why you would want pictures of LO in different positions in their beds).

Lo woke at 4, had 4oz went back to bed within 15 minutes and then spent until 5, gaaing and grunting and generally being a noisy bugger so that we couldnt get back to sleep. In the end i picked him up, he went straight out, i held on to him for 5 minutes to make sure he was asleep and then put him back in his cot. I dont want to do that all the time but he just kept going and going (sigh). dont mind if he does it Thu/Fri/Sat or even tues night when dh will be on duty since he off wednesdays but boy does he go on.

Ive been 2lbs up on my pre preg weight for about 6 weeks now, not that i have been trying very hard to get rid of it (and been eating cakes and takeaways like i am still pg) but its annoying me now. I must do some exercise.

More sympathies in the direction of seven

AWomanCalledHorse · 12/07/2012 12:56

Seven, sorry to hear that. Hope you're bearing up? (as well as could be giving the circumstance).

Cherry, I'm doing the 30 Day Shred everyday (find Davina really annoying!) and it's going really well, my aim is be as close to a six pack as possible by my birthday (October), I'm almost back at flat tummy but have a stubborn bit of flab left! Well done on the weight loss so far.

Northen, we're another haus of grim. DS hates being in the bathroom, let alone the bath, so we give him a full bath once a week, other days he gets rag washed. Dirty nappies are like catnip to him.

DS still not in his own bedroom, DH has been getting in at 11pm from work this week & he's choosing to wake up at midnight for a cuddle from him, so we're looking at moving him after the Olympics.
It now only takes him 20mins to fall asleep instead of 3 hours, so we're heading the right way!

LMF, I am a very childish person, whenever I see a picture of your DD's brass all I think is 'PARP' then it makes me laugh. Parp is such a fabulous word! Sorry you're so banbury.

When I was 7 I painted my bedroom black, so nice to see a normal, pretty little girl's room! DSM, fab job; aside from the Liverpool chair, that's a proper eyesore Wink

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/07/2012 13:09

AWCH HaHaHa....better than a mancunian or saints team!

aethelfleda · 12/07/2012 14:11

Hey if you want a true "dark side" join us in the canary-yellow-monstrosity that is Cambridge United supporting. We are TERRIBLE (but our fans just keep supporting them anyway cos we're dead loyal, sigh...)
Hmmm, Didn't we do a my-footie-team-is-pantser-than-yours run a little while back?

LittleMissFlustered · 12/07/2012 14:17

Childish humour encouraged AWCH :o We're all about the parp chez flustered.

Seven sorry things haven't gone to plan. Rest and relaxation for you:)

Today has involved a mostly fruitless search for school jumpers for my eldest. There may have been a couple of large coffees fuelling the search.

OiMissus · 12/07/2012 14:34

My bathroom scales are in a box somewhere. I'm in no rush to find them.
I lost my baby weight immediately - I was dead lucky. And then found that I could eat what I wanted for aaaages and still stayed slim. But then the breast feeding fat-eating fairies decided that I was taking the pi$$ and gradually the flab has been growing around my tummy. I need to do something, especially now that I am hardly bf-ing at all. - I have got into such bad habits now, pastries and treats. It must be banished!
Thanks for the Summer monitor recommendations (and yes the ability to take photos is a strange one. not sure about that at all.) I'll see if I can get one in a sale somewhere. :)

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/07/2012 14:35

Darcie done really well in her races at Sports Day today. Smile Was just pipped to the post in her hurdles race but ran incredibly well. Smile

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/07/2012 18:17

Sky seems to like Fish fingers & Heinz baby pasta stars! Grin

aethelfleda · 12/07/2012 18:28

Woo hoo: DS has taken THREE 4oz bottles and a 2.5 oz one since last BF this morning! Now on the boob for night feed and tomorrow we are off to a wedding reception. I think we have come to an agreement at last (blimey, that was hard work!).

I made thoroughly third-baby baby food from fishfinger and sweetcorn puree....His favourite is still buttered toast and strawberries!

And let's not Get into the weight thing. Just think about barges, bus posteriors and suchlike. Sigh.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/07/2012 18:38

Aethel Well Done to DS Grin hopefully he'll keep it up.

OiMissus · 12/07/2012 19:51

Nice one aethel, I'm glad he's starting to take the bottle more easily now. :)
I think I'm at the end of bf-ing, almost. I really must dig out my pre-pg underwear - I can't wait for some underwiring to give me back some structure!!

LittleMissFlustered · 12/07/2012 19:52

Hurrah for a successful day of boob-reclamation aethel :)

Reports came out today. My eldest got a good one, as ever. Her mathis and English are tagged at levels above average, that they would expect from pupils in the year above. So proud of the work she has put in. She's got more targets, and needs to work hard on her times tables:o

My boychild, however... It's not a bad report, but it's funny, if you ignore the fact I've been pushing for help all year:(

I am bone tired tonight. I got roughly two hours sleep last night and haven't managed a nana-nap today. As soon as Octoboy is done feeding I'm crawling under my duvet and going on strike.

Figgygal · 12/07/2012 20:21

Have been watching tangled tonight its such a good film Grin. The end made me cry when she's back with her family.

My childminder is amazing this week on his 3 days with her he's been to a baby group and 2 different soft plays. I love the daily reports in the book she sends home with him. I'm always amazed at the fact he has 1-1.5hr sleeps with her I get half an hour naps max.

Lo in bed, work finished for the week, weekend looks like a wash out again bloody weather.

Can anyone share lunch ideas for me? He's still on first stage jars of veg most days, easy for him to take to cm, when out at weekends need to introduce more variety/grown up foods

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 12/07/2012 20:29

Figgy re food, it depends if you want to give Figgyboy hot or cold meals? For lunch Sky normally has a sandwich, a couple of rice cakes and a yoghurt or rice pudding or some fruit. In her sandwiches she'll either have some ham or some cheese. Run out of diarylea so haven't tried her on that yet. She missed lunch today due to being asleep and then me having to go to sports day. Had pancakes for breakfast, and pasta, fish fingers then yoghurt for tea.

LittleMissFlustered · 12/07/2012 20:30

Octoboy likes lentils, blended but choppier, with veg for the most part. He is a munch-monster where they're concerned. Also cheesy veg. Grim nappies but tasty.

OiMissus · 12/07/2012 20:38

With the change of cm here (SIL, nursery, GPs, GPs, nursery) it's tough to coordinate anything. But I am going to ask all to try and give food at the same time, -perhaps 8, 12 and 4 for bottles, and 9, 12 and 5 for food. I'm going to start sending a small bowl of whatever we have for dinner the night before for BOi's 5pm dinner.
It's time to introduce some order !
(I'm crap at order).

LittleMissFlustered · 12/07/2012 20:50

Excellent plan with regards to leftovers. We always have leftover soup, stew, casserole and things like bolognese sauce as I do them in the slow cooker and cater for the street instead of one adult and two kids >_<

Northern, if you'd seen this post before I corrected it you would have dies of autocorrect asphyxiation... There was a duke, a Yates and a heave in there:o

mopsytop · 12/07/2012 22:01

Yay aethel! what a slog it's been for you.

Yay for Darcie and for your little brainbox LMF!

DSM, how does sky manage a sandwich? I know she's a little older than minim but if I give her a toast finger she just gums it, then drops it on the floor. Not much goes in. But she will happily wallop into spooned in mush. She's had loads of different fruits and veg plus chicken, lentils, rice etc but all as mush. Tuna made her choke so I'll leave that for a while 'cos I got such a fright! But she isn't really into BLW. Is that just habit? And why are the hvs so keen on it? What's wrong with spoon feeding mush (textured mush) if the baby is happy? I am basically wondering if I should be pushing her twds BLW or if it's fine to continue on mush if she's happy?

Hello everyone else! I too need to lose more weight, 1-1.5 stone. 1.5 ideally. Need to walk more and eat less! Couldn't imagine managing to do an exercise DVD in our tiny sitting room! But think I might join a rumba class if my husband can make it home on time once a week. You've done zumba, figgy, haven't you? Or was it Oi? but no, you were the queen of body pump, weren't you Oi? Anyway, what's zumba like if you're not much good at memorising aerobics/dance routines? Still okay?

seven77 · 12/07/2012 22:06

Thanks all, you're all more sympathetic than my own mother. I told my parents earlier, mum said these things happen then literally five minutes later said I looked fed up Hmm. My dad was surprisingly more sympathetic though, I though it would be the other way round. I'm understandably upset, but trying to be strong, reminding myself I've got 2 DCs already that need me. Plus I'm having Wine and had Brie earlier! Another good thing is that being pregnant scared me into realising how much sorting out we need to do before we have another baby, clearing the junk out of the nursery office come dumping ground is now my top priority!

Anyway, I came on to report that tesco photo have half price canvas prints for the next fortnight.

Congratulations on the sports days, school reports and bottle successes.

seven77 · 12/07/2012 22:11

mopsy Eva mostly has purée, like minim she just gums things then drops them and gets frustrated. She sort of managed toast for breakfast the other day but she didn't have anywhere near as much as if I'd given her porridge. My HV recommends purée though, plus 'finger foods' once they're more capable!

Xiaoxiong · 12/07/2012 22:30

seven I'm really sorry to hear that and hope you are doing ok this evening.

Very swift question - is anyone else expressing during the day? I'm BFing morning and night and then expressing twice a day at work to get enough milk for the next day's bottles. I'm only getting about 10oz a day (ie 2 bottles worth). He's eating lots (mostly purees, and like seven gumming things and dropping them) and drinking sips of water.

I'm just worried - sorry, DH is worried (since I haven't really seen him awake since yesterday morning, sniff sniff Sad) that he still seems a bit dehydrated - nothing serious, just not so many wet nappies as usual. Trying to debate adding another pumping session at work as he has decided formula is the Devil's own swill.

Kitty5824 · 12/07/2012 22:52

Has anyone else forgotten to remove breast pads prior to washing the bra?

EPIC fail, Black bra (obviously) hence black wash now covered in the fluff that used to be two lansinoh breast pads.

Am frankly amazed that it has taken me 6 and a bit months to manage this Grin

Kitty5824 · 12/07/2012 23:02

My laptop shit down without saving the word document I'd done my post in namechecking everyone.

Ummmm...

seven sorry to hear your news. Can't think of anything to say that doesn't sound patronising, so better luck next month!

Xiao, love the name change, love love love the boat (we stayed on a gorgeous houseboat in Amsterdam twice, first for my 30th then for my Bro's), sorry about the long hours. I'm sure there was something else....meh.

DSM well done Darcie on her sportsday and of course her new pad. Looks fab!

Foodwise, I'm using the Hipp recipe booklet I got sent as a basis for recipes. There is a lentil and veg one, a cheesy haddock one and a chicken & rice one. I've stopped blending them completely smooth and will try mashing the next batch. I'm doing a mix of puree and BLW by spoonfeeding a portion, then giving finger food to play with. All fruit, Pitta bread, toast, cheese sticks, rice cakes and heinz baby biscotti biscuits (didn't buy them myself!!!!) have been a hit.

We may currently have the smallest baby, but I don't think it is going to last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Refuse to talk about weight or exercise. Thinking about how fat I am will force me to comfort eat the magnums in the freezer

Kitty5824 · 12/07/2012 23:11

Shit down??? Can't even blame autocorrect for that, it's just bad typing!!!!

Kitty5824 · 12/07/2012 23:14

Sorry, me again!

Seb can sit up! Well, I can sit him up and he no longer flops down to the left straight away Grin No sign of crawling, but if rolling was an olympic sport he'd be a contender. And he sort of spins round on his belly using his hands and one foot.

Proud Mummy. time to start using the play pen
