HoneyLovesCake · 07/07/2012 09:56

Ok first link is completely wrong Grin don't even look at it, i'm an idiot...hang on...

HoneyLovesCake · 07/07/2012 10:01

hopefully this works

LittleMissFlustered · 07/07/2012 10:01

I have caffeine, I have hot sandwiches but I have no will to do, though there's no option. I need fuel:o

LittleMissFlustered · 07/07/2012 10:04

That fishy carrier is lovely Honey

I keep pondering trying to fond something fat bird friendly that I could do a back carry with, but I have a weak arm so it tends to be tricky >_

HoneyLovesCake · 07/07/2012 10:08

I have really weak shoulders lmf but I use carries that distribute the weight across my torso. You should get yourself to a slingmeet, there may even be a sling library near you so you can try out some different carriers cheaply (£5 for 2 weeks is normal). They make life so much easier; I'd be seriously frazzled without mine :)

MissRee · 07/07/2012 10:26

I'm on a roll this morning! Both kids fed, the girlchild is bathed, dressed and napping, the boychild is currently destroying the bathroom! I've done bottles, cleaned the kitchen, made all the beds and run the Hoover round. Now to get myself washed and dressed right after I chuck some cold water on the boychild to get him out of the bath

Congrats on the BFP Seven, I'm very Envy (we're not trying due to me needing to go back to work/bigger house but I would SO love another)

I actually did a little bit of sick at the milk story, Northern Grin I'm sure he'll be fine though!

I donut really use my sling any more (it's a stretchy wrap) as Freya doesn't feel very secure in it when she's wriggling around. I might donate it to friend with the tiddly baby.

We went to see them in hospital yesterday and baby is soooo tiny! Absolutely gorgeous though Grin friend is getting on well with BF and is very determined to make it work, although the MWs made her give formula for one feed as "they didn't know how much milk she was getting" Hmm anyhoo, friend has said that was a one off and is making sure to put LO to the breast at every opportunity. She's in an awful lot of pain from the c-section though and said she feels guilty because she doesn't feel like she's bonding with baby because she associates LO with the pain Sad I tried to reassure her that she's doing a fab job and I think hope it went in.

Has anyone heard from Air? I hope you're ok if you're reading this x

LittleMissFlustered · 07/07/2012 11:17

I was thinking about Air too, and MsB. Not seen them on the group either. Plu posts the odd picture do I know she's about.

seven77 · 07/07/2012 11:58

Gah just lost my post!

I can understand air not being around lately, though I hope she's coping ok. I saw msb was posting in chat a couple of weeks ago.

honey I love my Ellaroo wrap, best £20 on eBay I ever spent! LMF I've hardly lost any of my pregnancy weight, I'm currently a size 18. Mine is 5metres and there's fabric to spare, some wrap ones also come in 5.5 metre lengths.

aethel I'm not sure it would work with a stretchy wrap but I've seen people getting their babies into back carries with woven wraps themselves on YouTube, not sure I'd dare attempt it with my sicky baby though!

missree your friends tiny baby is the same size as Eva was. Sounds lineages doing well with BF, and I'm sure the bond will come soon enough especially when the pain starts to ease.

I had a small amount of brown blood (sorry TMI) this morning, do I need to be worried? I know red is meant to be worse though.

seven77 · 07/07/2012 12:11

Link didn't work properly, I have the La Rae one.

mopsytop · 07/07/2012 12:43

Hope the blood was nothing seven.

Minimopsy has a mild fever and is acting miserable. Not sure what she's coming down with but defs something :( It is v disappointing as the reason for coming down was to visit my MIL in hospital after a serious op :( but I can't risk taking a sick baby into a hospital, it's not fair. So we are at home while husband and brother-in-law go in to visit. At least we stopped in yesterday when we got down so my mil got to see minimopsy. But it's a shame. And my poor little bean is miserable. Gave her ibuprofen, not much else I can do now except cuddles.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 07/07/2012 13:02

Are sesame seeds okay to give Sky? They are on a French stick!

seven77 · 07/07/2012 13:14

Hope minimopsy is better soon.

dsm I'd have thought seeds would be fine. Isn't it just nuts, eggs, dairy and wheat/gluten you need to be careful introducing.

Still a tiny bit of old blood there. Would I be really stupid to do the gardening this afternoon?

HoneyLovesCake · 07/07/2012 13:17

seven which ellaroo do you have, that was a serious bargain a couple of mums from my slingmeet group have them & they're lovely :) If you ever come to sell it let me know & I'll point you to the fsot group where I'm sure you'd get more than £20 for it! Rocco is on my back mostly now & he loves it, it was not easy to start with & a bit scary but once it clicks it's easy & I'm trying new carries all the time. Was a godsend the week he was sick as he'd have coughing fits if I laid him down to nap so the only way he could get a decent sleep was to be upright on me. I put a muslin between me & him when he's ill in case he's sick Wink You're right about not doing back carries with a stretchy, it's not really safe although there are a couple you can use because they're woven differently i think...jpmb & smith-firm

HoneyLovesCake · 07/07/2012 13:18

sorry about minimopsy horrid when they're sick :(

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 07/07/2012 13:21

Seven Thanks and if it's old brown blood then I think it's fine. However, if its bright red then that's not a good sign I'm led to believe anyway.

seven77 · 07/07/2012 13:32

Thanks dsm, that's what I thought, still a worry though as I didn't bleed with the other 2.

honey I have the la Rae woven wrap, I think it's really pretty. DH would have gone spare if I'd spent £55 on a new one!

seven77 · 07/07/2012 13:34

Ok now stop linking to wraps! I've eyed up the chocolate and fuschia one and I really can't afford it.

aethelfleda · 07/07/2012 13:45

Boob report: DS fed at 7-7.30 then had breakfast at 8, refused a bottle at 9, had a huge nap, took a grudging 1.5 ounces at 10.30 and then seemed pretty happy til he had a (large!) BF at 12.30. Then he chowed loads of lunch (bread roll and cream cheese, raspberries from the garden).
I'm not sure how this will pan out but just about to express and then we'll see.

And yay! : I think all of the thread babies are now six months, aren't they?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 07/07/2012 13:57

Sky can clap her hands Grin

She also loves Plum pouch of Minted pea & Lamb Smile

Figgygal · 07/07/2012 14:28

I think I'm going to have to look at slings we have had more pushchair screaming fits today. I do have a baba sling but hardly use it maybe I just need to use it more.

Another crap weather day god it's just never ending, dh is off to a 40th bday tonight we left it too long to get a babysitter and as it starts 7.30 I just feel its too late to take lo even for a bit......crap tv recommendations very welcome

jigglebum · 07/07/2012 15:17

bored bored bored of marking. been at it all day now. At least I dont feel like I am missing out on a nice day outside! Has been pissing down and windy all day with severe flood alerts locally. DH optimistically packed bikes to take to his parents! I of course packed everything else! (despite not going)

Well done to sky on the clapping. I love this age they learn so much and are so cute. I also like the fact freya is a bit more routiney and I can read her cues so much more easily than as a tidy baby so she really is rather easy as babies go!

aethelfleda · 07/07/2012 15:36

Yay for Sky!

air thinking of you, hope you're reading and do post if/when you want to.

I've been banished to upstairs cos DH is trying to feed DS an expressed bottle and he is Not Impressed. I can hear him wailing and I feel terrible but I know it's better for him to get used to bottles in the long run. Kate, you're my mentor for this one: how's Your DS doing a week into your operation Reclaim The Boob? (please tell me it gets easier: I'm not even Properly cold turkeying this time as I am a wuss and am going to feed him down tonight as usual. At least it may be easier on the boobs...)

HoneyLovesCake · 07/07/2012 15:41

Put the babasling on ebay figgy I know some people love them but there are much better/more comfortable/prettier options available. No more links to pretty slings I promise but this is a good concise page showing different options. Beware though, it can be an addictive & expensive hobby >_< To think my OH thought this would be the cheaper alternative to a pushchair :) Thoroughly recommend getting to your local slingmeet too. I am so excited about my next one on Monday.

La rae's lovely seven my friend has one. Would you like me to keep an eye out for a preloved choc/fuschia jpmbb for you? Wink

MissRee · 07/07/2012 16:18

Freya isn't officially 6 months until the 12th Aethel Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 07/07/2012 17:53

Cheers aethel; he ate it and it's stayed down, so I guess it can't have been that bad excuses, excuses Blush Sorry I made you vom MissRee! That little baby sounds lovely, so teeny; but sorry to hear about your friend. It's awful when parents feel that because they're not feeling that instant, only-really-happens-in-the-films adoration, they're not bonding, and it becomes a vicious circle. Hope they get the pain under control.

I had a fair bit of brown blood seven- it freaked me out and I went and got checked out, but was (obviously!) fine. A little bit is entirely normal so I wouldn't think it's anything to worry about.

I'd forgotten figgyboy didn't like the pushchair, that must be a real pita figgy. Wonder what does it?

And yes, our babies are officially Getting On. DS is closer to seven months now. My Mum was being an adoring grandparent via the medium of Skype this afternoon as DS bashed seven bells out of his stacking rings Grin

Off to footle in the garden now, and then trying DS on a readymade pasta tomato and cheese thingy, looks OK. We have the minor problem that he turns his nose up at all vegetables, whilst doing his 'raptor' (flapping arms up and down, head lunging forward making 'aaark' noises) for everything else AND that DP finds something DS likes and keeps on giving it to him, rather than experimenting. I'm having to progress the weaning in stages at weekends
