Shit my 'ergo' has a dvd.... Am going to have to buy s new one aren't I - too worried about poor psb not being safe enough in it. Bugger how to get this one past the chancellor

Biscuitsandtea · 22/06/2012 05:24

Hawthers - I don't know that DVD thing for a fact it's just what the lady from the sling meet said - might be worth investigating though?

Sorry if I've panicked you Blush

Apparently older ones did come with a DVD?

not looked at biscuits links but I did buy an Ergo from eBay. I had the borrowed one to compare it to or I'd never have known it was a fake. It was a good fake! I emailed the seller who in fact wouldn't confirm it was a genuine Ergo, but said it was made in a factory making genuine products?!?! Really strangely worded email. So i returned my fake. A friend still uses hers. All the stitching came undone after about 9 months, so she's restitched it and its fine now. Apparently if you've made less than £75 it is definitely a fake (I'd paid £63) . My annoyance over the whole thing was another factor that got me buying the Boba 3G instead, when i should have not been tight and shelled out properly in the first place....

on another note, I was totally unreasonable and horrible to dh in the night. I am ashamed :( . And he has to go to work, having been made to help a lot :( :(

DreamingOfPeace · 22/06/2012 08:08

Looked at your last link biscuits . My fake Ergo was a lot better than that- warning label in right place, logo on zipper, just the wording of the warning label wasn't quite right, and there was a spelling mistake on the box, and padding a little thinner, but if I didn't have a genuine borrowed one to compare it to I don't know how I'd have known.

Dh said I'm mad but he's not cross. Now I feel even worse....

hawthers · 22/06/2012 09:05

The only things that are dodgy are the warning label (spelling mistake and only in one language) and the dvd. Hmm going to dig out the receipt and see what I can do but I've had it for ages. Am I stuffed?

DreamingOfPeace · 22/06/2012 09:12

No, you're not stuffed hawthers I don't think. If sold as genuine but its fake you've good reason to send it back. My seller couldn't have refunded fast enough to avoid a fuss. Mine was the same, one language on warning label and just not the same wording as the genuine. Plus a dvd. My borrowed genuine one had a dvd but its nearly 4 years old now.

Biscuitsandtea · 22/06/2012 09:18

Hawthers on some of those links it says that some of the older ones have only one language on the warning label and a DVD but if there's a spelling mistake I'd be a bit suss? Do all the logos and zips etc look right? And the square stitching thing?

Could you call Ergo and get them to say if it's fake or not?

On a related note, if I was foreign and making counterfeit goods, I think I would find some morally ambiguous native speaker to check the spelling. Similarly if English wasn't my first language and I was writing a take away menu.

Maybe I should set up in business proof reading menus for non-English speakers? I'm not morally ambiguous so wouldn't have anything to do with counterfeit goods.

Three chocolate mini bites and more minstrels post breakfast...hmm no wonder I'm finding the bf diet crap! I'm not doing this right...

Dh had a go with bottle and dd2 this am. Minor success - two sucks!! DD1 then went mental about him giving A a bottle and then everyone was crying and chaos reigned.

DreamingOfPeace · 22/06/2012 09:33

3 x M&S extremely chocolatey mini rolls at 6am as a pre breakfast snack. large breakfast with DD. Thank goodness we're starting the healthy eating/ Shredding on Saturday... Hurray for two sucks!! What upset DD1 about it?

musicalmrs · 22/06/2012 09:35

Morning all!

Bad night last night - so the one before was definitely a fluke. Still, a fluke every now and again would be nice, just to catch up on some sleep... I hope you're listening Isabelle! Wink

This talk about fake Ergos is a little scary :-(

Too, loved your household chore posts last night. Your bathroom idea sounds good - if I take over cleaning ours (usually DH's domain) I may try that technique! Our house is in a constant state of untidy and dusty because of all the work going on, which is somewhat maddening...

Had the kitchen fitter round yesterday - will cost us an extra £500 for all the additional bits he needs to do, like tiling and wall prep. Mainly because kitchen is currently in a horrendous state :-( on the plus side, he starts in just over two weeks, hurrah!

That does mean I'll have to find a way of eating healthily while cooking with only a microw-oven for a few days. That could be fun. May have to cook up some huge batches of food and freeze...

DreamingOfPeace · 22/06/2012 09:35

He he biscuits love that you qualify you're not morally ambiguous :)

pommedechocolat · 22/06/2012 09:59

Dh feeding A I think. I then tried A with a dummy again which sent dd1 totally over the edge (she ADORES her dummy and is only allowed it at night time).

I've had some grapes now - does that cancel out chocolate binge?!

PetWoman · 22/06/2012 10:01

Too love DH throwing the veg in the air...

My house is dirty. :( Mostly I don't notice it. Grin I have been vacuuming every few days cos of the moulting dog, but I never rarely wash windows or anything. DH does, eventually. :)

Biscuitsandtea · 22/06/2012 10:06

Pomme yay for some bottle success.
Could you try it again if you took dd1 out to do something fun together? That way you and dd1 get some quality time and DH can persevere after the first couple do sucks? Maybe once dd2 can take a bottle easily then you'd be able to do it or you can gradually get dd1 used to the idea?

Do you know what it was that sent dd1 off on one about DH doing it? Was it the fact that DH was feeding A and that's mummy's 'job' normally, or something else? Or just one of those toddler inexplicable things?

Sorry cross posts with loads of people there - started posting and the. Forgot about it BlushGrin.

My house is normally dirty too. I hate housework. That's all there is to it. I like it to be tidy but not a fan of cleaning. Although this week I've cleaned both bathrooms and the kitchen. Today hopefully will be the kitchen and downstairs floors and if there's a good wind (and the HV is quick) maybe hoovering too.

Taking ds2 swimming again this morning. Hope he likes it......

pommedechocolat · 22/06/2012 10:14

You're all very good about cleaning. I had a cleaner when I worked part time and umm, never cancelled them :)

I think at the weekend we will try that biscuits - will be nice to do something with dd1 anyway. She's still a bit possessive about dh with A and I think was jealous of him feeding her and maybe the bottle too? When I've tried giving A a bottle and A has refused she's always wanted the bottle after and has drunk both ebm and formula in the past few weeks!

Fake slings talk very scary! Think I might try with the BB again soon as I think A might be okay facing forward in it now?

DreamingOfPeace · 22/06/2012 10:17

I have a cleaner now pomme, I never did windows though anyway... But lots of vacuuming and kitchen/ bathrooms once a week. I'm such a slattern now... No time!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 22/06/2012 11:27

My cleaning policy is simple: clean when visitors are coming. In between, stick on the dishwasher reasonably frequently and do some laundry. DH tidies up clothes/books/scattered baby paraphernalia pretty regularly. This policy always leads to me spending the night before/day of arrival cleaning frantically. I hoovered the living room on Sunday night - do you think it needs doing again? And I think I've cleaned windows twice. Some windows (hall, nursery and bathroom) have never been cleaned on the inside since we moved in 2 years ago Blush. DH did the outsides badly last summer., and he cleaned mud off our bedroom window after a passing tractor splattered it. Envy of those of you with cleaners.

Getting the cart before the horse a bit here, but how do you baby-proof sharp corners? Our coffee table has really sharp corners and the thought of M learning to stand/walk next to it fills me with fear.

Musical, you could eat lots of salads/sandwiches/soup etc? Yy to freezing lots of food beforehand to reheat.

Dream, hope you feel better re DH now.

Biscuitsandtea · 22/06/2012 13:09

Ah I wish we still had a cleaner Sad. Really can't afford it though since I gave up work Sad.

Maybe once I'm not paying for nursery etc we could get one.....

Had a great app with cranial osteopath today - A has pretty much no sucking action according to her. She's said she's never had a baby not suck her finger before when she feeling roof of mouth. She says it's sensitive in there and she's struggling. When A did eventually give in and feed she said it's not the normal action one would expect with the jaw for bf - A does lots of up and down hard work.

She said to try baby rice and a hard spout beaker to keep her fed...

I feel relieved but like I now have a new challenge!

Hope all cleaning has duly stopped and visitors here :)

10 million x mini bites to add to my food list by the way!
