I have some spare sleepiness if you still need it, Biscuits.

musicalmrs · 30/06/2012 08:03

Dream, how lovely that you got some quality time with DD :-) Bet she loved it!

Pet, the text thing sounds sad :-( DH sometimes spends a bit too much time watching tv or something when Iz is clearly staring at him looking for interaction (she likes attention!) and I have to point it out! Luckily she does settle for him when he does bedtime though...

Biscuits, must be so frustrating when you know they can sleep through the whole night but aren't! Still, at least DS is getting there :-)

Hawthers, brooking for your family.

Dream, Biscuits and Pet, thank you for your words of wisdom :-) temperature's gone down and it hurts less, so I'm hoping not mastisis :-) I don't have a wide toothed comb but will try and get one later, and will keep up with massage and feeding in lots of silly positions. Dream, am I right in remembering that you said at some point to have the baby's bottom lip pointing towards the blockage?

Also excited about the pending arrival of Ninja's new brooking baby (unless it's already here?!).

Anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend? We need to pick tiles and a cooker for our new kitchen. We've been trying to pick tiles for weeks and can't decide on anything, so should be interesting...

hawthers · 30/06/2012 10:31

It's my birthday today and f slept through!

dream will be popping f on the train next week so he can have a word with the BBBBs about sleeping. How old are they now?

pommedechocolat · 30/06/2012 10:48

Another bad night in the pomme household! Got slightly better when I unelevated her cot. She has some very atypical reflux symptoms.. Am going to try dairy free properly too to see if that helps.

biscuits - You told someone about the sleeping! That's why it went wrong - fact :)

pommedechocolat · 30/06/2012 10:54

Happy birthday hawthers!!

Biscuitsandtea · 30/06/2012 11:36

Happy birthday Hawthers and well done F!

Sorry things are still difficult, Pomme.

Musical glad things are improving. Good luck with the tile hunt. No special plans here - done my run and some gardening so far...

DreamingOfPeace · 30/06/2012 15:14

Just popping on to say happy birthday hawthers and sending lots of good vibes and Brooking No Argument there is a rapid improvement in health in your family.

The BBBB's are 12 weeks old. Neither is sleeping well but i could cope with each individually far better than the tag team night efforts they do...

Loopyhasanotherbean · 30/06/2012 19:34

sorry to hear babies are still not sleeping... and hoping my bean doesn't become one of them! (but sods law he will do now i've said that!!)

i asked a while back about changing bags big enough to carry stuff for DS1 who will be 22 months when bean is due. I can't remember who said what, but i remember that someone suggested Juju be prepared, and skip hop duo deluxe and someone suggested a big pacapod.

Who was it that had these? are you still happy with them after a bit longer using them? having had a brief look online at them today with DP, apart from the scary price tag, we both quite liked the juju in black/silver (nice and manly) as it looks like it holds a lot, and the mommy pocket opens a lot so shouldn't be much rummaging, and i like the inner side pockets for one child per side, but just wondering if there are any negatives? and wondering how heavy it is? wasn't sure re pacapods as whilst it sounds good having all changing stuff in one and food in another, it sort of dictates how you use the space....and a fair bit of the bag we have will be for change of clothes for DS1 and for DS2 (DS1 has reflux so always carry a spare set) plus muslins, bibs etc and ideally a top for me...and not sure the pacapod would be as flexible as the juju? but could be completely wrong!! the skip hop one, just don't like the look of it, and it doesn't sound like it would contain much from what i've seen but happy to be corrected if anyone owns one or has seen one in real life?

And for those that own these, where did you buy them/how much? i can find a juju for £133 but struggling to find anything cheaper...and DP is struggling with the notion of spending so much on a bag, although i have said if we got that colour, it could be used for hand luggage on a flight or as an overnight sort of bag, plus it would be great to use in hospital....especially if i have a nightmare like last time and end up being in for 5 days...

DreamingOfPeace · 30/06/2012 20:36

loopy purple has a ju ju be prepared and says its fabulous. She used it as hospital bag too.

too, think have got the ok for Sunday, dh surprisingly ok with it :)

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 30/06/2012 22:53

Hello!
Loopy I still LOVE my JJB prepared (pretty tweet)and I will be keeping it forever! I used as hosp bag and everything for me and baby fit inside! I also used it as the bag for both my Dc clothes and things when we went away for three days and again it all fit for both of them! Will be a great bag long after nappy days are over :)
It is great that it looks smaller when it is not packed to the max too. I have bought a be hip, as it is too large for when I just go to toddler group tho. (An excuse for another bag in honesty Wink)
I bought mine from the ebay of a normal shop IKWIM? I messaged them asking if they would take less and they knocked £10 off :) So was £120... They do come up on ebay auction sometimes :)
The bag clips are really great too and the little handles that tuck in are ace too, oh and all the pockets are amazing one of the teeny onees fits 10 pairs of breast pads in! I spent ages watching youtube vids, littledudesanddivas with Maya really sold it to me in one of the vids where she packs it full of stuff!

Dream glad you managed some 1-1 with DD and you have made progress with stairs etc also Envy at meeting Too although why would Dh have a problem with you meeting a friend? Confused

Jen how did your meeting with Bartlett go?

Music glad your feeling better, definitely sounds like you had a blocked duct, generally if high temp and symptoms persist after 24 hrs we suggest a trip to the Drs. You can take ibuprofen and paracetamol to help relieve symptoms too :)

Can't remember what else I was going to say...

Biscuitsandtea · 01/07/2012 04:26

Well, one feed last night, two tonight..... This isn't going in the right direction is it! Hmm

OP posts:
Loopyhasanotherbean · 01/07/2012 06:57

purple :) we watched that video too, thats why DP is liking it, she got so much stuff in it, yet it didn't seem crazily crammed as everything seemed to have a place just not liking the price so much! any chance you could link or PM me the seller you bought from? we had a look on ebay yesterday and unless i'm doing something wrong there were only ones from australia on there?

DreamingOfPeace · 01/07/2012 08:32

Lol purple, dh has no problem with friends but he doesn't even use fb let alone make friends on an anonymous forum. Plus he thinks I waste way too much time on mn....

I haven't heard from too yet...

DreamingOfPeace · 01/07/2012 08:37

biscuits rubbish for wrong direction... Ben only woke twice last night, though took til 9:30pm to get him to sleep, but then just 1am and 5am Shock . Blumming Seb up way, way more. He's still coughing and always has a rattly sounding chest so is mucousy which doesn't help. 5 weeks and counting like this... Worst part is I can't get him back to sleep, woke dh once when I gave up, then let him sleep with me from 5am...

Biscuitsandtea · 01/07/2012 09:28

Yay for Ben only waking twice. We just need a bit of sibling rivalry now to encourage Seb along! Seriously brooking that his rattly chest clears up soon - is he having anything for it or is there anything the docs could do to help him? Does Ben go back to sleep once he's fed? It would just be so helpful if you were just left with one hard-to-settle child!

I can't say it often enough though that I am in awe of what you achieve lady!

OP posts:
JenFraggle · 01/07/2012 10:33

Well done Ben. Seb will catch up with him I'm sure when his chest clears.

Meeting with Bartlet was good. We arrived at the same time and recognised each other straight away. We went to a local garden centre as they have a playground for her DS and do cream teas. Bartlet's DH took DS to burn off some energy while we got the food. Bartlet was feeling queasy (yay!) so just had a scone without any jam and cream. When her DH got back, he asked where his jam and cream was and she forgot about him :o He went and got his own and I was very pleased to see that he did it the proper way, jam first and cream on top.

There was a tv on the wall, advertising local places. When an advert for the otter sanctuary came up with a cute little otter playing in the water, Bartlet pointed out to her DS the hedgehog. We had to correct her :o It wouldn't be so bad but the name of the otter sanctuary was on the screen and they say doctors are supposed to be clever

DreamingOfPeace · 01/07/2012 10:52

Sounds good Jen :)

too, have pm you my number in case you can come and visit and phone internet access when out can be tricky...

pommedechocolat · 01/07/2012 12:35

Have tried to update twice so far but broadband playing up.

A so much better re the screaming pain. Wonder drug. She is still a little fussy around feeds but fussy not hysterical and for half an hour not three. We have gathered up side effects of bad wide and sleeplessness which means little sleep at night but hopefully that will sort itself out...!

Am relieved if not a little tired.

Am trying no dairy pretty seriously over here though (have dairy free chic and dairy free chocolate yoghurt things - priorities!). I think her constant congestion (although think snottiness is currently a cold caught from dd1), skin rashes and farting all point to possible cmpi. Can't hurt anyway and may help me shift that last half a stone.

Yay for all the meetings!!!

DreamingOfPeace · 01/07/2012 13:21

pomme, hate to say it but if its cmpi would colief be worth a shot? It breaks down the lactulose in the milk for them- its the enzyme lactase. Bloody pita to give but apparently you going dairy free can take a while to show effects, colief is instant. and you only have to get 4 drops in expressed milk down them at every feeds

pommedechocolat · 01/07/2012 13:48

How much expressed milk?

DreamingOfPeace · 01/07/2012 14:04

5ml. Better than the 15 of gaviscon though!! It is like magic but i couldn't keep it up

DreamingOfPeace · 01/07/2012 14:08

And warm milk too. Neither hot nor cold from fridge because of the enzyme needing to work to break down the protein in the milk. As i said, pita. We did it when at home for Ben's worst three weeks.

DreamingOfPeace · 01/07/2012 14:11

And its £12 for the titchy little bottle (but only 4 drops a go) . And you have to keep the bottle in the fridge once opened (I missed that bit of the instructions for quite a while) . Bitter feelings about colief and my rubbishness AR using it. Especially as it is the most effective thing we've tried so far with B.
